NYLON ~ 76 ~ I'M ALL WET
Hanna stepped out of the bathroom to find Caleb dressed in black from head to toe. His tailored black suit fit like a glove and it gave Hanna chills just to see him.
"You look hot," she winked running her fingers along the smooth fabric.
"I could say the same to you," he whispered.
"Do we have to go to this reunion?" Hanna sighed. "I'd much rather just stay here with you."
"You're the one who insisted on coming," Caleb reminded her.
"I know," she groaned, "and I want to see my old friends. I just don't want to have to relive everything else from my past."
"Come on," he took her hand. "Let's just go for a bit. If you feel uncomfortable we can leave."
"Okay," Hanna grabbed her coat as they headed for the door.
They took a short stroll to the hotel where their high school reunion was already in full swing. Hanna signed her name in the guest book and picked up her name tag while Caleb did the same.
"Hanna Marin," Mona cackled. "I knew we'd see each other again."
"Hi Mona," Hanna smiled politely.
"Oh!" Mona squealed. "And you brought the street rat."
"Mona," Caleb said between gritted teeth.
"This is my husband," Hanna told her, "and I don't appreciate you talking down to us."
"Sorry," Mona flashed a sweet smile. "Old habits die hard. You know how it is."
"No, I don't," Hanna told her. "If you'll excuse me, I have some friends to see."
"Don't let her get to you," Caleb whispered as they walked toward the crowded banquet hall.
"Ugh," Hanna groaned. "I wish I had never been friends with her."
"It's in the past," Caleb told her. "Let's just get through this night without any heated arguments."
"Okay," Hanna squeezed his hand.
"Oh hey!" Lucas smiled waving at Caleb.
"Hey man," Caleb shook his hand.
"Wow," Lucas said sarcastically, "who would have thought the two of you would be married at our reunion."
"Would you guess we have a two-year-old?" Hanna chimed in.
"Yeah, actually, I would," Lucas gave her a hug. "It's good to see you."
"Well, what about you?" Caleb asked him.
"I've got a boyfriend," Lucas explained. "His name is Trey and I think he's ogling Noel Kahn right now."
"Noel's here?" Hanna laughed. "He is someone I did not expect at our reunion."
"Yeah, I saw him earlier," Lucas laughed.
They spent the rest of the night interacting with old classmates, none of whom remembered Caleb as anything other than Hanna's greasy boyfriend if they even recognized him at all. Once the booze was gone and the DJ called it for the night, Hanna grabbed her friends and they headed back to their hotel loaded with handles of hard liquor.
They trudged through the hotel lobby and gathered around the pool passing around sips of booze as they swapped stories and old memories. Finally, Spencer had the bright idea to push Hanna into the pool causing a domino effect where everyone ended up soaking wet in their most glamorous outfits.
"Hey," Caleb snuck up behind Hanna and grabbed her waist.
"You know," she whispered in his ear, "I'm all wet and I was hoping you could take me back to the room for a warm shower..."
"You're wet?" he asked.
"Gross," she playfully slapped him. "Do you want to go upstairs or not."
"Definitely," Caleb replied. "Yes to the shower."
They waded over to the steps and Caleb helped her out of the water as their clothes clung to their skin. Once they were on dry land, he pulled her in for a kiss causing the others to erupt into cheers and catcalls.
"Fuck off," Hanna shouted triumphantly holding her high heels in the air as Caleb squeezed her waist leading them to their room.
They could hardly keep their hands off each other as they stumbled to the room. Caleb dug through his pants pocket for the key card which he hastily swiped allowing them back inside.
"Hey," Hanna grabbed his lapel and stripped off his coat. "Help me out of these clothes.
She turned around and Caleb released her from the confines of her dress. He kissed her neck softly as he helped her slip out of it. Then she turned to face him and kissed him softly as she helped him out of his sopping clothes.
"You know," she whispered, "I don't really need that shower anymore."
"Well," he breathed in between kisses, "what do you want to do instead."
"Don't be coy," she pushed him onto the bed. "You know what I want."
Caleb laughed as they toppled onto the covers in a soaking mess. Her wet hair left a temporary smear on the sheets as they rolled around removing what was left of their clothes.
