NYLON ~ 82 ~ WE DID IT

Spencer grabbed Hanna's hand as they stepped into the lobby to meet their latest client. A sleek older man stood up to greet them and extended a hand.

"Nice to meet you," Spencer smiled. She gestured toward Hanna. "I'm Spencer and this is my partner Hanna Rivers."

"Pleasure," Hanna introduced herself.

"Bill Merkoff," the tall stranger shook her hand.

"Shall we?" Spencer led them into the conference room where they took a seat.

"So," Hanna stood up and pulled down a detailed analysis of their new project, "Mr. Merkoff, here we have your hotel and Spencer and I have drawn up some plans of how we envision your color scheme."

She continued with the presentation while their client continuously nodded in agreement. When they finally wrapped up, Spencer handed him a folio of their findings and awaited his approval.

"Ladies," Mr. Merkoff told them, "I'm impressed. You've managed to capture everything we're looking for. However, we are definitely on a deadline and I need to be assured that your job will be complete in six months. We cannot drag this out much longer."

"Toby is in charge of permitting and timelines," Spencer explained, "and I assure you, if it's possible, he will make it happen."

"When can I meet this Toby?" he asked.

"Let me check his office," Hanna scurried out to the hallways where she tapped on Toby's door.

"Come in!" he called out.

"Can we see you in the conference room?" Hanna asked. "Bill Merkoff has a question about our timeline."

"Sure thing," he closed his files and followed her into the meeting extending a hand to their client. "Toby Cavanaugh, how can I help you?"

"I understand you'll be directing this project?" Bill asked.

"That's right," Toby replied.

"I need a straight answer," Bill told him. "Can we make this project happen in six months?"

"Let me take a look," Toby said running over the plans. Then he turned to Bill. "I don't see why we can't accomplish this in time."

"That's what I like to hear," Bill smiled. "Now, where do I sign!"

Hanna and Spencer exchanged a smile as Toby handed over the paperwork.

Spencer was sitting on the counter with her legs dangling off of it while Hanna grabbed glasses from the cupboard. Toby was prying open a bottle of champagne and Caleb graciously uncorked some sparkling cider for Hanna.

"I can't believe we pulled it off," Spencer squealed pouring them each a glass.

"Ten million dollars," Caleb laughed. "This is the biggest deal we've ever made."

"To Merkoff!" Toby raised a toast.

"To Merkoff," they all repeated before taking a sip.

"So," Spencer put her glass down, "this has been fun, but Toby and I need to be at the site early tomorrow and we should be getting back to Victoria anyway."

"We'll clean up here," Hanna said grabbing their glasses and rinsing them in the sink.

"See you tomorrow," Spencer smiled before she laced her fingers in between Toby's and headed into the lobby.

"All done," Caleb smiled drying the last dish.

"We did it," Hanna laughed still in shock.

"We did," Caleb placed his hands around her waist.

"Come on," she grabbed his hand, "let's go home"

"Okay," Caleb followed her out.

They locked the door behind them and headed to their penthouse a few blocks away.
