NYLON ~ 100 ~ EPILOGUE

Hanna ushered her daughters into the row of plastic folding chairs. Behind her, Caleb searched the crowd for their friends and finally waved when he saw Spencer and Toby walking toward them with Victoria.

"Hi," Hanna hugged her friend. "Did you have trouble with parking?"

"Not really," Spencer replied. "Toby took the first spot he found four blocks away."

"Typical men," Hanna laughed. "At least you made it."

"Is anyone else coming?" Spencer asked.

"Emily and Paige are working so," Hanna explained, "they are meeting us at home but Aria said they can't make it. They're still in California for Daisy's white coat ceremony."

"Hey," Caleb snapped at them. "It's starting."

They all turned their attention to the stage where a grim looking older man approached the podium and began the graduation ceremony. After a lengthy and boring address he introduced a series of other important members of the school board who had their own words of wisdom. Hanna could feel herself dying of boredom but thankfully Spencer offered a stream of snide comments that kept them chuckling through the ceremony. Finally, they began announcing the class of 2040. The endless parade of names continued until they reached the Rs and Hanna nudged Tai to take photos with her phone.

"Mom, you can barely see," Ash told her.

"Doesn't matter," Hanna replied. "We can crop the pictures and if they look bad we'll just buy the ones the photographer took."

"James Thomas Rivers," the dean finally called out and Hanna cheered loudly as her son crossed the stage and received his bachelor's degree.

JT disappeared off stage and the ceremony continued for a few more minutes as the rest of the students were presented with their diplomas. At last the dean returned to the stage and gave the final speech before the students were released. They filed out of their row and found JT standing with a group of friends.

"I'm so proud of you," Hanna hugged him.

"Thanks Mom," JT replied with a grin.

He turned to everyone else and they exchanged their congratulations before heading back to the parking lot. On the way, Hanna called the caterer to make sure they would be prepared when the guests arrived. Caleb pulled their car into the assigned garage spot and they headed up to their flat. Hanna ran around the house preparing for their guests while she shouted orders at Tai and Ashley.

"Mom," Ashley groaned, "I've literally cleaned the mirrors three times. I think the house is spotless."

"Just do it," Caleb muttered to his daughter.

"I heard that," Hanna told him.

"Nothing you weren't supposed to hear," he replied. "I'm just trying to help."

"Good," she smiled. "You can call the doorman and remind him to check the guest list."

"Got it," Caleb said as the doorbell rang.

Hanna answered it and propped the door open. In front of her, she found the Cavanaughs. Victoria handed Hanna an envelope with the initials JT written on the front.

"I'll make sure he gets this," Hanna said ushering them inside. "There's food in the kitchen and JT will be here soon. He's packing up some things in his apartment."

"Hanna!" there were footsteps in the foyer.

"Hi!" came the reply.

Hanna hugged Emily and Paige. The girls followed Hanna into the living room where they had all congregated. As more people trickled in, Hanna ran around the house greeting her friends and family. Eventually JT made his way back and his mother put him to work making sure their guests were well fed and happy.

"Hey," Caleb finally managed to catch Hanna, "you okay?"

"Yeah," she sighed, "just trying to make sure everything goes smoothly."

"Have you eaten?" he asked.

"I had a couple bites," she replied.

"That's what I thought," he said handing her a plate. "Come on, take a quick break."

"Okay," she kissed him. "I love you."

She grabbed some food and followed Caleb out onto the deck. They sat down on a rattan couch and shared stories while she finished off some fish and vegetables. During that time they were interrupted nearly a dozen times by friends coming by to say their goodbyes. By the time she finished her dinner, the party had dwindled down.

"Mom," Ashley came running up to her. "Tai and I were invited to a party..."

"Go," Hanna smiled.

"We might sleep over," Tai chimed in. "It's at Macy's beach house in the Hamptons. They're kicking off summer."

"I don't..." Hanna began.

"Leave the number for Macy's parents," Caleb cut her off, "and make sure you're back by dinner tomorrow."

"Thanks Dad!" his daughters hugged him and then ran off to pack their overnight bags.

"What was that about?" Hanna asked. "I thought you hated sleepovers."

"Today's an exception," he replied.

"Okay," Hanna shook her head as she cleaned up around the house.

Over the next hour, the rest of their guests slowly filtered out until finally they were left alone with just the caterer. JT grabbed a trash bag and began cleaning up the kitchen when Hanna walked in. The sight of her grown son cleaning up without being asked was overwhelming and a tear slid down her eye.

"Mom?" he smirked. "Are you crying?"

"You're cleaning," she smiled.

"Don't look so surprised," he laughed. "I've been living on my own for four years now."

"You're my little boy," she sighed.

"Do you mind if your little boy abandons the clean up crew?" he asked. "The frat is throwing a party for all us graduates."

"Yeah," she smiled. "Go, have fun, leave me here to eat my feelings."

"Thanks Mom," he kissed her cheek.

JT disappeared to get changed and Hanna finished cleaning up the kitchen. When she was done, she looked up to see Caleb leaning in the doorway, smiling at her.

"The kids are finally gone," he winked.

"You planned this all along?" she laughed.

"With a little divine intervention," he replied. "If the girls hadn't been invited out I would have sent them to a movie."

"So we're home alone?" Hanna asked.

"Yupp," Caleb nodded.

"Good," she smirked handing him a trash bag. "Without the kids, this will get done so much faster."

"Hey," he grabbed her waist, "that's not exactly what I had in mind."

"I know," she smiled giving him a quick kiss.

Hanna dropped the trash bags and pulled off her rubber gloves as seductively as possible. Caleb bit down on his lip as Hanna dropped the gloves. She rested her hands on his shoulders and brought her lips to his. She batted her eyelashes, ticking his face, before their lips finally met. His grip around her waist tightened and they stumbled across the room running into walls and furniture before finally reaching the bedroom.

Caleb pressed her against the wall as she tugged at his polo shirt. Caleb grabbed the nape of his shirt and pulled it over his head quickly discarding it. She ran her fingers across his fleshy skin where the faint outline of a six pack was still visible. Then Caleb's lips met her chest and he slowly unbuttoned her dress before sliding it off her arms and letting it fall delicately on the ground.

Hours later Hanna's head rested against the pillows and the fluffy comforter covered her from the neck down. She rolled over and rested her head on Caleb's chest. He dutifully wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"That was fun," she smirked. "We should do it more often."

"Something tells me we'll have lots of chances," he replied. "The girls are going off to college at the end of the sumner, JT's living on his own and working in the village, we're going to be empty nesters."

"Don't ever say that again," she told him. "It makes us sound so old."

"Okay," he laughed. "Never again."

"Good," she kissed his cheek.

"So," he paused, "I was thinking, we could take some time off and see the world."

"How so?" she asked.

"Well," he moved a strand of hair from her face, "you lived in London for five years and I've never been. Maybe we can start there and you can show me around."

"You want to go to London?" she laughed realizing the irony of the situation.

"Yeah," he smiled. "I wanna see the big clock and meet the queen, the whole shebang."

"Okay," she did her best impression of Wren's accent. "We'll go to jolly ol' London."

"Don't ever do that again," he told her. "The last thing I want to do is be reminded of Dr. Copafeel."

"You know he's from London?" Hanna reminded him. "We would literally be going to a city full of people that remind you of Wren."

"Good point," he scoffed. "New idea. How do you feel about Spain?"

"I can do Spain," she replied.

"Alright," Caleb kissed her. "Spain it is!"

"I love you," she breathed.

"I love you too," Caleb smiled.

That's it guys! I hope you've enjoyed this crazy ride as much as I've enjoyed writing it. You have no idea how awesome it feels to mark a story as complete and I could have never done it without all the support from you readers. Seriously, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sticking with this story.

Now, I'm sure you're all dying to know what my next story will be, so, without further ado, head over to my profile page and you'll find a new story up. As promised, I will be writing the first chapter for three different stories. I will upload them in order of the votes they received so the winning story is already available. The two stories that tied for runner up will be posted sometime this weekend. If you haven't already, go to the bottom of this screen and check the box for FOLLOW AUTHOR, that way you'll be notified when I post new stories.

Lastly, the way the new stories will work is that for every ten reviews you'll get an update. I've already posted the first chapter. Ten reviews gets you chapter 2, twenty reviews get you chapter 3, etc. So basically each story will be updated based on demand. I think that's fair since I'm writing a few of them at once. I don't want to focus all my energy on one and neglect the other two when you guys are begging for something else.

Again, thanks for reading NYLON and I hope you enjoy what's to come!
