(A/N) Soooooooo...Yeah. It's been awhile hasn't it. I've been trying to find the desire to start on this story again after from an unfortunate incident took place way back then. What is this incident that cause me to stop writing you ask? I unfortunately grew weak and delved into Harry Potter section of FanFiction despite my promises to myself not to. Needless to say I got caught up in that world and lost sight and mind of the Percy Jackson world. In fact I still for the life of me cannot write anything about Percy Jackson because I am still caught up on Harry Potter. Its nowhere near as bad as it was the first few months(many many nights staying up until 6-am to finish a story and the loss of ability to stick with a Harry Potter story even somewhat related to canon, god I hate canon so much now), but it is still hampering my ability to imagine. So I am left with little choice but to end my attempts at inspiration and put this story up for adoption. Hopefully whomever takes this story up will do well by it, but there are no guarantees in life. The only thing I can do is hopefully make it easier for said adopter and provide the work I have been holding onto for these past months available. Enjoy!

Four more years passed by. Now my daughter was sixteen, beautiful, and dangerous. She had matured as quickly as her body did. Lithe and agile, she could give a leopard a run for its money in a fight without weapons. Her hair had turned a darker shade of red over the years, in a dim light it was as dark as red wine. In a decent light however, it took on a more rose red color. She decided to keep her hair on the short side and trimmed it directing above her shoulders. She bore the look well, and she made the decision wisely. It was long enough for her opponent to be distracted by her beauty, but short enough to make it difficult for it to be caught by something. Her skin had stubbornly refused to aquire a tan despite all the years in the sun. She was no where near as pale as Nico was generally, but she definitely did not look like one who visited the beach regularly. And if the way she looked wasn't dangerous enough, for she had easily picked up on the lesson I gave on intimidation, her mastery over magic would quickly set anyone strait. Every spare spot on her Nemean lion clothing had long been covered up by various runes. The only change you might notice now from looking at her is that the runes would occasionally change depending on the situation she was in. The otherworldly glow from the runes had freaked out more than one monster on occasion. I still swear to this day that she had made a cyclops dissolve to dust for no other reason than how terrified it was of Lily. Her blade was no exception to the rule either. It was difficult to the runes on it sometimes, but the monsters always grew terrified when she brought it out. More than one arrogant monster had been shut up when they saw the blade and the power contained in it. Of course even if they hadn't shut up then, the blade would have done the job eventually. There was no doubt in my mind that Lily was as good a swordsman as I had been before the transformation. The only down-side was that she had maxed out on what her mortal body could achieve now. If I was still a demigod I could have gotten even better, but that was only because I was a child of the big three. As the daughter of a minor god, Lily's body had run out of potential. For her sixteenth birthday, I decided to change that and do something truly special for my daughter. When I think about it, it was mostly selfishness on my part that I gave her this gift though. She was my daughter and I loved her more than life itself, so I refused to lose her to something as beatable as death. We sat down for dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant I had found and ate a lovely dinner. She had picked up long ago on my revulsion to sea-food, which I was grateful for. After we finished the main course which included pasta, bread-sticks and Alfredo sauce, I asked the question. "Honey?" "Yes Dad?" "I must ask you something important. Would you be willing to stay alive for an eternity despite all the possible hardships? Would you like to put up with your boring old man for an eternity? Because I don't think I could handle it if I were to lose you." I asked her all these question because even though I would be heartbroken if I lost her, I would never force something upon my daughter. She was stunned for a few moments before she began to look very thoughtful, no doubt considering the benefits and hardships of my offer. I was concerned that she would refuse the offer. That is until she began to exclaim "Yes, yes, yes, thank you dad!" Most of the other patrons looked over at us in amusement. No doubt they thought I had just given my daughter a car for her birthday. Like I would give my daughter a lame gift like that. I reached into my pack which I never let leave my side, and for the first time in ten years I held a Golden apple in my hands. I handed it to Lily who looked at it with amazement. She shot me a questioning look that said, "Is this what I think it is?" I grinned and nodded at her, encouraging her to eat it. I will never forget the face she made after her first bite, it was of shock, amazement, and pure contentment. The same feelings I had when I ate my apple. Unlike my apple, Lily was able to fully enjoy the taste of the divine fruit. When she was finally finished, I could immediately see a golden glow surrounding her. I knew right then and there that my precious daughter would never be lost to Thanatos. I took the apple core from her and removed the seeds from it. I placed them in the storage pocket along with the other seeds then I placed my hands over hers. "Lily, I am about to restart a journey I put on hold when I adopted you. It will take me to the edge of the world and back most likely, not to mention be extremely dangerous. Would you like to join me?" I asked her. She immediately smiled and said, "Of course dad. When do we leave?" I smiled at this. Some might call it rash on her part to jump into danger, but I knew it was devotion. I knew it was so because I would have done the same thing in her shoes. "Tomorrow", I replied standing up ad she rose from her seat as well. "Lets return to camp daughter. We are going to need all of our strength for this journey." And with that we exited the restaurant and vanished into the night.

I didn't give any indication of it, but I was excited. I had enjoyed the freedom that Dad gave me over the years, but it never felt real. I knew that he was always keeping an eye out for me so nothing bad would happen. I had ignored it for the most part because I loved my father and knew he was only trying to protect me. I also knew that it was all me when I killed a monster. It was through my hard work that they fell to my blade or magic. However, I hadn't realized until now though how much I was craving more dangerous opponents. I'm not stupid, I was not about to go challenging everything I saw without assessing it first. But I knew that this quest I was going on with Dad would give me experience with some really dangerous beings. I knew that Dad would never go on this quest if I wasn't able to fend for myself, and I definitely knew that he would never invite me along unless I could hold my own. I knew he would do his best to protect his "baby girl" which I secretly enjoyed him calling me, but I also knew that he probably couldn't keep me safe from everything. When we got up in the morning, I immediately knew that we would be able to take everything with us like normal. The only catch was that we wouldn't be able to use certain things like the tent without attracting unwanted attention. As such we would have to choose what we wanted to have readily avaliable to us since we had no idea when we could set up the main tent safely again. I have no idea what dad picked out, so I decided to go with the necessities. I tucked away my magic book into a pocket on the back of my jeans which was the form the pelt had taken today. The pocket would not alow anyone else to access it, and would always be easily accessible. The book itself was enchanted to be in a more compact and lightweight form, a pocket dictionary size. I had no worry about my weapons as I could easily take them all without worrying about space, so I decided to pack a few extra books into the knapsack I was carrying along with spare canteens and baggies of nectar and ambrosia. Last but not least I packed away my favorite item. It was similar to a dairy, but I had filled it with stories that my father had told me and adventures I imagined us being on together. Finished packing, I walked out of the magical tent and helped Dad fold it up along with the other equipment we had laying around. With a whistle to call Mrs. O'Leary to us, we began our journey

We had been walking for several hours now with no clear direction on where we were going. I was trying to be patient, but it was not my strong point. Dad would often tease me about it, saying that it was the mark of a true Jackson. I rolled my eyes every time he said it, though secretly I was happy. I finally couldn't hold back any longer and said, "Dad, do you even know where we are going!?" I glared at him when he started laughing loudly. "Right now baby girl we are just going in circles," He said with a smile. I just continued to glare at him. He chuckled some more before explaining, "Ok, we are not going in circles. I am just pinpointing the four places I need to visit. Plus we need to be a bit further away from the camp sight before we flash away." I looked at him quizzically, as I understood nothing that he had said. He merely sighed and explained for the first time ever the quest he was one when he met me. If possible I felt more giddy than usual at the love my father had shown me. He could have left me behind in the pursuit for power, but he refused so that he could raise me. I was still staring off into space when his next words finally penetrated the fog that had surrounded my mind. "As for the reason we didn't flash away immediately, it appears that we have some followers." I looked at him in alarm. I hadn't sensed anyone following us, which meant it had to be someone powerful. He noticed my panicked look and immediately went to reassure me. "Don't worry. They aren't terribly dangerous. To you at least." I almost didn't catch the last part as it was said under his breathe. When he noticed that I heard the last part he sighed again and continued. "The Hunters of Artemis have been following us for a few years now." My eyebrows went up at that. I finally realized that was probably the main reason we moved around so much. The fact that we usually ran out of monsters awhile after we settled down was probably just an added bonus. "They have always been about a month behind us." My eyebrows were still up. "They manage to keep finding us due to the strong amount of magic that you and I give off." I nodded at this. I knew magic could linger for a long time in areas. It was a powerful tool, but not very conspicuous some times. "They have a daughter a Hecate to help track us. And Artemis's skill are only helping her pinpoint our location." I stayed silent, Artemis was one goddess who did not give up easily. "They got lucky and managed to cut across a few cities. At most, they are a day behind us." I paled at this. We were going to being hunting for powerful artifacts with powerful enemies in the front trying to stop us, and powerful sort of allies behind us who happened to be hunting us. "Oh joy," I murmured to myself. I knew right then that I would be getting my wish for a challenge. "So where to first Dad?" He stopped and closed his eyes for a few seconds before saying, "The Sea of Monsters will be our first start." I nodded and grabbed his arm. With a flash of light we were gone.

Artemis

I couldn't help but grin at the stroke of luck we had in this hunt. We had been following this being for so long without even getting close to finding them. True we always managed to find the trail, but it was always old. Honestly if it were not for Atlanta, a daughter of Hecate, we would have not managed to find any sort of trail. We had come to the remains of another campsite expecting to be disappointed again when Atlanta collapsed. After making sure she was ok despite her protests she explain what had happened. Apparently the magic signature left behind was incredibly strong. I didn't doubt her when she told me that, I could feel the hair on the back of my neck standing up from the amount of energy that the air was charged with. After about an hour of searching in vain for physical tracks, we had Atlanta lead us in the direction she thought they went. From her description our prey didn't travel on foot, so they had to be teleporting since my father would have noticed them in his domain. It also explained how they kept so far ahead of us for so long. Atlanta had managed to trace the energy signature to a place several hundred miles away from here. With a new found energy, the hunt started back on track again.

When we stopped again, the air was full of disappointment yet eagerness. We had managed to miss our prey yet again, but these traces of magic were so fresh and powerful that they had knocked out most of my girls when we entered the campsite. Atlanta had been cautious and protected herself with a spell as she thought she would be the only one affected. Her effort was awarded when she wasn't knock out like the rest, but instead was afflicted by a pounding headache. We quickly left the camp as we saw that no one was there, and made our own camp about half a mile away. When all the girls were awake again, Atlanta forced herself to take a nap to escape the pain of the headache, we began making plans to enter the camp. Drawing a bit of my power to fuel her spell, Atlanta ensorcelled all of her sisters to protect them from the lingering magic. With that done, we cautiously made our way back to our prey's campsite. I could see the nervousness on my girls faces as we explored the campsite. They could no doubt fell what I was feeling, raw power flowing like gentle currents of wind. I shuddered to think about what would happen if the power was directed towards myself or my hunters. In a flash of realization I realized how badly I had underestimated my prey in this hunt. I had assumed it to be merely clever enough to hide itself for so long. Though it was probably clever in some way, I realized that it was this beings power that prevented us from catching up to it and that its power easily rivaled my own if mere remnants of its presence were so strong. Shaking my head to clear it of my dark thoughts I began to study this most recent campsite. I was surprised to see actual physical indication that someone had been there. With the other sites, including the previous one, nothing aside from the lingering magic gave any indication the areas we visited were special. Now though I could clearly see several sets of footprints on the ground. Taking my time, I came to the conclusion that there was not one person as I had originally thought, but two. I showed no outward emotion but inside I was relieved. "The power signature must be a combination of these two beings. They may be strong together, but if I can separate them they won't stand a chance." Is what I told myself. Then I saw something that made me pause, a set of hellhound footprints. My mind began racing again at the implications. "The last time I saw a set of hellhound prints so close the human tracks without signs of a struggle was…" My eyes widened at the implication and I began to study the other two sets of tracks again. The larger set was about the same size as the ones outside of the garden of the Hesperides which didn't tell me much. The smaller set though gave me pause. They were made by a being obviously smaller than the other being, but what made them unique was that they were the correct size of what the smaller set of footprints I found years ago would be if that person had aged. I stared in shock at my findings, not even believing my luck. I composed myself then call the hunters over to where I was. I quickly explained my findings to them while their faces took on the expected emotions. Shock and awe was prominent at first, then it quickly turned to glee at the prospect of catching our quarry from all those years ago. Thalia stepped forward before chatter break out and spoke up. "This is all well and good M'lady, but we still need to find out where they went. " There were murmurs of assent from the rest of the girls at this. I turned my head expectantly to Atlanta, who in her foresight was already preparing the ritual spell that would reveal the destination of our quarry. After a few minutes of preparation the ritual was ready to begin. Atlanta stepped into a circle she had drawn on the ground with chalk dust with the runes of magic clear displayed on the outside of it. The rest of my girls backed off to avoid any negative feedback form the ritual while I stood close, but still outside of the circle, to Atlanta in case something would happen. If something went wrong I would be there to pull her to safety despite the possible pain I would endure of breaking the circle. She had protested at my decision when she first performed this ritual but grew to accept it as she knew I had only good intention and that I wouldn't be seriously affected if I did cross the circle. She began to chant in the language of magic and the circle began to glow with a silver light. I knew the reason that it was silver was because my blessing of immortality affected her so deeply, she had explained it to me once when I asked. After about a minute of chanting she grew silent and closed her eyes so she could see our new destination. Suddenly her eyes flew open and she gasped, at the same time the runes around the circle suddenly shattered into nothingness and she collapsed. I rushed over to her side barely noticing the fact that I had felt nothing form crossing over the circle. I cradled her in my arms while her eyes slowly flickered open. Noticing the concern on my face she smiled at me slightly to show that she was alright before she completely passed out. Not wanting to spend any more time in this magic infested campsite I gathered her into my arm bridal-style and ordered the rest of the hunt to follow me back to camp.

When we arrived I placed Atlanta inside of her tent before beginning to prepare for the evening. Night was almost upon us, so despite my hunter's apprehension at Atlanta's condition I began to prepare dinner for my girls. I debated about making a plate for Atlanta, but my instincts told me that she would be awake in time for dinner. I found myself proven correct as we all sat down at the table when she suddenly rushed into the dining area. She tried to say something but I raised a hand to stop her, "No Atlanta, whatever you discovered can wait. For now you must eat something." She looked like she wanted to protest at first, then her stomach rumbled loudly silencing her and causing an uproar of laughter at the table, I allowed myself a smile and a small chuckle at my hunter. She blushed and pouted slightly, but she sat down without any protests and began wolfing down the food I had prepared. When we had all finished eating the main course and polished off a dessert of crème brulee which is a dessert that even a god will fight over I look at my girls in satisfaction. I knew they would want to start hunting again immediately, but the food would soon kick in and make them sleepy, so I asked the question the rest of the hunt seemed to have forgotten about. "So Atlanta," The hunter in question looked up from the table with curiosity shining in her eyes which clearly turned to shock when she realized what she had never gotten to tell me. I was amused to see similar looks on the rest of the girls as well, it seemed like my plan worked better than I thought it would. "Tell me everything." She took a deep breath and said, "My Lady, the ritual did as it was supposed to. The fog was about to clear and show me the destination on the teleport our prey used when something happened." She looked a bit unshaken at the fact that something that wasn't supposed to happen did. I braced myself for the worst. "The fog began to get thicker and thicker until it was almost total blackness. Then a shadow appeared in the fog directly in front of me. It was clearly a man by how deep his voice was, but I couldn't make out any part of him in the fog. He said to me, 'So it looks like the hunt has almost caught up to us. You are lucky that I did my best to remove the magical traces left over at that campsite. If I hadn't, you probably would have fallen into a very long slumber. Since I know your mistress will not stop hunting until she has found me, I will tell you were I am heading. I have nothing against the hunt or its leader, and I have no wish for you to fall upon more bad times. You will find me on the island were the fleece once resided in the sea of monsters. Come and show me why the hunter should be feared, if you dare.'" Atlanta stopped talking and glanced at her sister's faces. Unsurprisingly most of them showed anger mixed with surprise. Anger at the audacity of this man, and surprise that he would reveal where he was going. Several of the girls looked like they were about to stand up and protest about listening to the man who had caused their sister to collapse, but I raised a hand to silence them before they could speak. "I do not know who this man is. Nor do I know his intentions. Since he is a man, we shall prepare for the worst. I would not rule out the possibility of a trap." Several girls looked at me with curiosity prominently display on their faces at this. No doubt they were wondering why I would actually go to where a man said to go. I sighed again and began speaking again. "It pains me to do something a man told me to do. However, we have no other information as to where he is going. This might be our best chance of catching him. It may very well be a trap, but he is foolish if he thinks we will simply be walking into it." My girls gave a small cheer at this while I smiled at their enthusiasm. I began ordering them to complete some minor chores so we could be prepared to leave as soon as we had a good night sleep. I couldn't help but feel anticipation as the hunters started moving around. We were close, and soon it will be all over.

With a large flash of light Lily and I arrived on a beach in Florida, one that touched the Gulf of Mexico. Once Lily let go of my arm, I started walking towards the water. As I did so. I made sure that no divine being could sense me or Lily without my consent. It wouldn't stop people from recognizing me if they saw my face, but it did ensure that I could do everyday tasks like entering the Ocean without father realizing I was back. I stopped walking when I was up to my knees in the water. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to relax for probably the last time in a while. I took in all of the sensations I felt from the sea. The waves crashing onto the shore, the cool breeze blowing through my always messy hair, the general vastness of this body of water. I reveled in the sensations for a few more seconds before I allowed my senses to expand. My mind raced through the water searching for any indication of something I could use on my journey. In less than a second I pinpointed a luxury boat, large enough for five people to be comfortable on, a few miles off shore. There was a fairly large hole in the hull which made it fairly obvious how this boat had sunk, though I couldn't see any sign of the owners. It was a simply matter to will the water to bring the boat to the surface, and even easier to repair the damage to the hull. With the vessel full functional again I willed it to start moving towards our position. While it raced towards us, I began touching up the inside of it. Stains, rust, and rot all fixed themselves up in record time and when the boat was almost upon us I willed one of the rooms inside to become fused with magic and expand to immense proportions. I opened my eyes finally I saw the boat sitting about one-hundred feet away in the deep water. I glanced over my shoulder and saw my daughter in the water already a few feet back waiting for my signal. I nodded to her and we both began wading, then swimming to our ride. Once we were both aboard, I had the currents begin propelling us towards our destination. Lily immediately started walking towards the rooms were and smirked when she saw the aura of power emitting from one of the doors. She opened the door and looked impressed with what she saw. She may be used to the power we both wielded, but she had never really seen how fancy we could make a place look with it. One grows comfortable with the slightly rigged lifestyle after a few years. I walked in after her and because she was still staring at the "living room" as I call it, I quickly made my claim on the room on the left. I made sure that all my things were accounted for before walking back out and seeing Lily still staring at the room. I chuckled and told her, "You do know that its not going anywhere right?" Her face turned red at this and she mumbled something under her breathe before moving to the other room on the right. She must had thrown her things on the bed as she was back fairly quickly. I chuckled again and said to her, "Feel free to have some fun, I'll be up on deck if you need me." She acknowledged me with a nod before attacking the snack bar and turning on the TV. I made my way up to the deck and stared at the water while my thoughts ran through my head. I stayed there most of the day thinking about the future once again. I had a good feeling that with this next essence I would finally know how close I was to completing my task. And though I pondered about the message the fates gave me all those years ago, I had a feeling that they were teasing me in a way. The way they had told me I would defy fate made it sound like I had already done so. I was broken from my thoughts at dusk be my daughter clearing her throat behind me.

Lily

I have to admit, the boat dad acquired for us was pretty amazing. Even more so when you went below deck into the enchanted rooms. Don't get me wrong, I know all about TV video games and so on. When you have been training most of your life though, you rarely have time for such luxuries. I never could blame dad for pushing me to hard the past ten years. I knew that if he had the slightest hint that I was unhappy that he would have suspended everything to make me happy. Fortunately for all, the lessons he gave me were always interesting. I mean who has the chance to learn about all the different types of weapons and magic to top it all off. Still, I couldn't help but get sucked into the wonders of modern technology and immediately began watching a movie while playing on the different game systems at the same time. Such things are easy to do when magic heeds almost your every whim. Before I knew it the movie was over and I took to channel surfing. It was quite an experience to be able to see both what the mortals were showing as well as the gods. More time past and it was only when my eyes caught the time on the screen that I realized how long it had been since I had started. It also became apparent to me how hungry I was now, but I pushed that feeling aside for the moment. I had become so distracted by the game room that I had forgotten to ask Dad a few questions. I quickly put everything away and began my short search for my father. I found him on deck as he promised staring out at the ocean and gazing at the sunset. I have to admit it took my breath away as well when I saw it. Turning my attention back to my father I cleared my throat and waited as he craned his neck to see me standing behind him. He smiled at me and gestured me forward to which I obliged him. We both stood on the side of the boat looking at the almost gone sunset for a few more second before dad finally spoke. "What is on your mind Lily?" I didn't answer immediately as I wanted to phrase the question accordingly. I finally told him my thoughts after a few more seconds. "You never actually told me what we were going to be doing. I was wondering if you could tell me." I waited patiently while he had a thoughtful look on his face. Eventually he spoke, "I suppose it's time you knew everything." He began explaining his life to me, and to say I was shocked was an understatement. I knew quite a bit about mythology thanks to my studies, so I knew how difficult it must have been for my father to defeat so many creatures in his teenage years. Naturally though, the most shocking part was that my father had fallen into Tartarus, the pit where all the evil in the world originates from. I knew that my father was powerful, but I had not known until now how powerful he actually was. The fact that he had escaped from Tartarus single-handedly spoke volumes. Dad waited while I let my mind process everything I had heard before springing even more surprising news upon me. Apparently, he was supposed to get even stronger by absorbing the essence of Ouranos. He didn't know how many essences where left, but he would after we retrieved the essence that dwelled on the island of the Siren's. I chuckled when I heard where we were going. The sirens may be too much for ordinary sailors to deal with, but between my father and myself they would not stand a chance. Just when I thought that I had been brought fully up to speed, I noticed a dubious look on dad's face. I shot him a questioning look and he sighed.

Percy

I sighed, I should have known that daughter could easily read my facial expressions after all these years. I looked her in the eye, and began explaining what had happened all those years ago with Riptide. I had thought she couldn't look any more shocked than she already was, how wrong I was. She looked like she would fall over like a stiff board if the wind became too strong. I had an idea and acted on it. I caused Riptide to appear in my hands which seemed to jolt Lily from her stupor. She looked at the blade curiously while the air seemed to shimmer around it. Her eyes widened when the glamour that had given the blade the appearance of its original form disappeared and my future symbol of power was displayed in all of its glory. He eyes traced the name flowing along the blade before looking at every symbol that was on the blade. When she was finished she locked eyes with me, "Well, I expect you to keep life interesting for me, dad. You better be up for some more adventure when you take your place as a primordial." I chuckled at this. "Whatever my baby girl wants." Was my reply and I received a smirk in response. We both turned back to look at the now dark horizon. "We will be arriving at the island of the sirens tomorrow. I suggest we both get some sleep." Lily nodded at my words, and we both made our way below-deck to our respective beds.
