Me: Well, this is probably gonna be the only fanfic I'll ever update in a long while. High school is taxing, as well as extra work piling up on me from all directions. So most likely, this is the only writing I'll be posting on the site for a while. I don't own Vanguard, and sorry for those still waiting for chapters to other stories. I hope I get to them. Basic request from Underdog Hero. Takes place sometime in Season 3, before Void's strike. In episode 116-117.
"…and that is why we Psyqualia users need to spend more time together!" Ren said. Aichi wasn't completely sure how he was supposed to respond to all that. Luckily, Leon was also there.
"That's ridiculous." He summed it up pretty nicely. "We are all in the middle of training for the Vanguard High School Tournaments. You're suggesting we spend some time getting to know each other better over golf."
"Not golf! Mini golf!"
"R-Ren-san, do we even have time for that? Leon's right." Aichi said. "Besides, if we really wanted a Psyqualia user gathering, what about Chris?"
"Chris refused to come. He's training…"
"Which is what we should be doing." Leon sighed, crossing his legs as he leaned back on the couch. "While the others are back in the fight rooms, actually training, you dragged us here to suggest recreational activity?"
"It's just a bit of fun, and a break from all the stress." Ren said. "If you don't want to call it a Psyqualia user gathering, then call it a club captain gathering. We can discuss strategies and cardfights while hitting those white balls with sticks!"
"It's called putting." Aichi had to chuckle at Leon's straightforwardness. "And besides, we're supposed to keep our strategies that we'll use a secret. Especially from each other."
Ren pouted. "You found out my plan…" He mumbled. Was that actually what he was planning to do?! It was obviously not going to work! "But I still want to go play mini golf."
"You have Tetsu and Asaka and Suiko to go play with." Aichi said. "Why don't you just ask them?"
"Yeah but we never hang together, so I wanted to do something! Even if I minus out the part where you tell me what you're strategies are!" Ren said. The coffee maker dinged, and he poured some into cups, handing it to them. Leon took it, while Aichi refused. Ren drank his cup in one gulp, then made a face. "I can never make it like Suiko does…"
"You really shouldn't attempt." Leon said, putting the cup back on the table after taking one sip. Aichi caught the slight grimace that crossed his face when he had drank it. So apparently Ren's cooking skills did not extend to coffee. That might have been expected. He always had a way of surprising others and yet being predictable at the same time, something only he managed to accomplish.
"And I always wanted to play mini golf too. I never got a chance." Ren said. He sniffled. "I was always busy as a kid, so I never got to do any of all that. All I wanted was for this one time, I could play a game and have some fun with people like me, after all you did for me. I just wanted to repay you a bit…"
"R-Ren-san… Are you alright?" Aichi asked.
"Just one day! Half a day! It won't even be that long! Please, just a bit of fun!"
Aichi could feel his will breaking. "F-Fine… I'm sure that'd be okay, right Leon?"
Leon just sighed. "Whatever. Sure." Aichi smiled a bit, then felt himself being lifted off the couch as Ren hugged him, swinging him around.
"Yay! I knew I could count on you Aichi-kun~!" Ren said, letting him go and Aichi's head spun, trying to regain his balance. "I'll text you guys the details tonight! For now, let's go back and have some cardfights then!"
"Finally." Leon said, standing up and walking out the door. Aichi began to follow, but looked back at Ren, who wasn't moving.
"Ren-san? Aren't you coming?"
"I'm gonna drink some more coffee first! You want some?" Ren held out a plastic cup, and Aichi quickly shook his head no.
"No, it's okay, I'll just go on ahead then!" Aichi walked out the door, back to the room where the rest of his club were cardfighting.
Still in the room, Ren smiled, looking at a small bottle labelled 'Truth Serum' in his hand. "The plan's back on." He said.
Me: Leave requests in reviews, and I'll hopefully get to them. I feel Ren would be completely capable of pulling something like this off.
