Chapter 43
Olivia sat looking to at the ceiling, she could feel that nervous lump in the pit of her stomach, and while she knew that when this was done, the dust settled she could finally tell Lincoln the truth. It wasn't easy keeping this secret to herself, but for the time being she was glade to be alone.
She wasn't too worried about Lincoln, he told her to stay put while he did some last minute preparation for the escape, but lying on her back she started to trace little circles on her belly trying to imagine a baby slowly growing inside of her.
Most of the time she never thought of having another baby, but she didn't know what would happen, would her and Lincoln just stay in Panama with L.J and Elle May. There was no way she could ever go back to the states as she was still wanted for escaping death row.
This wasn't her idea of fun, but for the time being she couldn't plan the next ten hours, let alone ten years, so she kept making the circles with her fingers, "You know little jelly bean, it's going to be a long night..."
Gretchen smirked looking over Sophia, her hands playing over her knee before looking over to Nikole, "So you think Scofield is going to do it?" She asked lighting up a cigar, she inhaled the smoke, she knew she couldn't fail this time, she would kill everyone in the room if it meant for her to not be hurt again. Her eyes went over the other woman, it was hard to believe how quick her moods snapped, but then she wasn't a prim princess herself.
Elle May glanced to the food that Nikole had given her and L.J, Sophia only staring in hope they would share, she didn't understand why she was being starved.
"When this is over, I want to put my bare feet in the sand," Elle May bit into the cheese and pickle sandwich that Nikole gave her, she picked up the water drinking half in one go. "I want to feel the sea cold and refreshing on my toes." Her eyes were going over to Nikole not knowing how to feel.
Nikole placed her bottle of cool water down, side glancing to Gretchen, "I do. I've never known Michael to let somebody down..." She glanced toward the kids, who were eating.
She was nervous none the less, trying to control the emotions swimming around in her head. She just hoped that Michael wouldn't screw over Alex and leave him in SONA.
"You talk about my uncle like you care about him." L.J. said darkly hearing Nikole talking about the man who gave up so much to reunite his family in one piece.
Nikole turned around glaring at L.J. "Shut up." She snapped.
L.J. put his hands up in surrender, he looked away to Elle May, "that sounds nice - with a really cold pop." He nodded.
Elle May nodded, "Plus surfing!" She sounded excited, it was hard to believe they were both being held captive, but then it was trying to look for that light waiting at the end of the long tunnel. Just praying it wasn't an oncoming train.
"Well you won't be doing much if Uncle doesn't pull through!" Gretchen snapped at the two children. She wasn't sure what was going to happen, but then she couldn't let any of them walk away alive. No she wanted to kill them all. Her eyes turn to Sophia, "Sorry, didn't have enough to feed you…" She smirked, she really didn't like the woman, so she picked up a piece of cake eating it in front of her slowly.
Nikole watching Gretchen pick up the cake, she let out a small breathless laugh, shaking her head.
Something about the woman she couldn't explain, but she couldn't explain much about the situation in front of them. Never in her life had she imagined this being her future.
"Shame, really." She added onto Gretchen's statement, as you could hear Sophia's stomach grumbling loudly.
"We're going to go surfing." L.J. nodded to Elle May as he finished his sandwich, trying to ignore the potent fishy smell admitting from the Panamanian woman's bottom half. "I promise." He gave Elle May an assuring smile, trying to be positive.
Gretchen rubbed her hands, "Well there is a lot to do," She got to her feet, she then pulled Sophia up and dragged her away, "You keep an eye on these two." Her words cold, she didn't like Sophia, but if she couldn't be with James, then she was going to make his little piece of smelly girlfriend suffer.
Elle May watched Gretchen leading Sophia away, her eyes going over to Nikole, "Do you hate my mum?" Her voice was soft, she wanted to have some answers, cos for a moment she thought that Nikole was good, but now she doesn't know, but part of her wanted to believe that Nikole wasn't an evil woman.
Her blue eyes scanning over Elle May, Nikole's lips parted as she spoke, "How I feel about your mother is the farthest thing from hate, Elle May." Nikole said genuinely. "You have to understand, there's much more going on here then just a prison break out..." She glanced to L.J. who didn't seem to be buying it.
"You two have been through way more then any adult - let a lone teenager should have to handle in life. I'm not a bad person... I'm just trying to get done what needs to be done so maybe we can all have some normality back."
Elle May tried to keep calm, but thenshook her head, "You know that I don't believe you." Her hand went onto the table, "Because you could have been on the good side," She moved her hand about, "You could let us go…"
"You don't have to believe me, I wouldn't expect you too..." Nikole muttered, looking between the kids, before letting out a sigh. "Believe me... I'd let you go if I could." She said while thinking about the options.
"Sure..." L.J. rolled his eyes
Elle May let out a little sigh, "Well I guess we're going to need to wait." Folding her arms carefully, she now turned to L.J, "Maybe she's a pawn in this all, and has no power on the chess board."
"Do you really believe that?" L.J. asked Elle May, looking into her eyes, "if she was, do you think she'd act like she had all the authority in the world?" He wondered, glancing to Nikole who had walked a small distance away and lit a cigarette.
It was easy to see that Nikole was keeping her distance from them, Ella May refused to believe that Nikole had turned dark side. The woman who spoke so caring to her before.
"I know she might have done bad things, but we don't know what she has to gain from all of this, she could be playing them at their own game."
L.J. thought about it, he had to admit, Nikole was never mean to him, even in Arizona with Alex before the plan was sabotaged, and she was nice, only doing what she had to do. "Maybe you're right." He nodded.
"I wonder how everything's going..." He added, thinking about his dad and uncle.
Elle May drank the last of her water, she then looked over L.J, "I really am sorry for being crazy before." She then played with her water bottle, "It's just I always wanted to have a brother, and I never thought I'd ever have a family."
"Hey, it's okay..." L.J. nodded, giving her a smile, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her into him, giving her a light squeeze. "Sister." He said brightly in a voice that was low. "I like it." He added with a grin.
Olivia looked to the sun was looking as if it was starting to slowly make its way into the horizon. She didn't know what to think as she had sat up to read a menu for room service, she didn't know if Lincoln was coming back, or if he'd made her stay out of the way for the escape.
Lincoln was on his way back, but only for a short while, trying to make sure everything was in place, he knocked at the hotel room door, "Olivia." He called in a stressed out voice, his white t-shirt clinging to his upper body, his face covered in a fine sweat from the Panamanian heat and his rushing around in jeans.
Getting to her feet she opened the door looking over Lincoln, "I thought you made me stay here," She quickly hugged him, "I was so worried after what happened at the prison." Her eyes searching his, she was hoping he'd not suspect something was being kept from him, she couldn't figure how to tell Lincoln she was pregnant.
Lincoln had returned her quick hug, "No. Not yet." He said, his eyes doing the same thing, scanning over hers. "Listen, Olivia..." He trailed for a minute, glancing around the clean hotel room. "If something happens tonight and into the morning..." Lincoln thought of the plan. "I want you to go to Columbia." He took her hands into his hand, being serious. "They'll come looking for any connection to the escape and I don't want you anywhere near here if that happens." He squeezed her hands. "I'm hoping that wont be the case, everything will go smoothly and You, me... L.J. and Elle can start being a normal family."
For a few moments Olivia felt in complete shock, "I can't go anywhere without you." Her eyes kept scanning him over carefully, "I am sorry, but you can't expect me to stand back and wait for everything." She walked over slipping her shoes on. "I am coming with you!"
"Olivia... You could get hurt." Lincoln whispered, "I don't want you getting hurt." His voice stressed enough. "Anything could happen and I don't want you being a target for any body."
Olivia stared at Lincoln, she wasn't sure what she could say to make him see that she wasn't going to run away from him. "I can't leave you," Her voice trailed, but then she could tell that he wasn't going to back down, "Am I just meant to sit here and wait?"
"Yes." Lincoln said seriously with a nod, looking across her face and finally back into her eyes, "Olivia, promise me, you'll stay here." He was being firm with his tone. "And if this escape doesn't happen by sunrise." He squeezed her hands again softly. "Then you flee and you don't look back, do you hear me?" He was glad he didn't have hair, otherwise he'd have ripped it out throughout this entire Panama situation. "Promise me." He whispered.
Olivia's face went blank for a brief second, her face free from the pain she was feeling, "You better be back," She then glanced to the clock, "So how is this going down, cos if I can't be there, the least you can do is tell me how you're getting our children back." She knew that she wasn't going to give anything away, but the last thing she was going to do was run away from him, no. She couldn't and if she had to break a promise, she'd go to hell and back before losing him.
Taking her hand in a different way, Lincoln led her to the small love seat that had an unusual floral pattern to it of roses in many different colours, he held her hand - their fingers laced together as he explained the plan, taking out the generator, swimming to the buoy off shore and having Fernando pick them up. "We're meeting them at the docks, by mid-morning if all goes according to plan." He finished, nodding.
"So really if I don't see you by the late afternoon," She tried to not think of the worse, "I…" She felt sick, "I can't leave without my daughter." Her words deep, she felt sick thinking of losing her daughter.
"Hey." Lincoln said quickly seeing her getting upset with thoughts and emotions that were running high as it was. He brought his strong, hands up to cup both sides of her face, making her look at him. "That isn't going to happen. Everything is going to go according to plan." He assured her, with a smile, not waiting her to get worked up.
"We can only hope," Olivia bit her lip, "I think time is going fast." She remembered how much she hated pregnancy emotions. "Just be safe." She lightly reached her face to him, she then leant up and kissed him slowly.
Feeling her kiss, Lincoln ran one of his hands from her cheek, across her collarbone to the back of her head, holding it softly as he returned her kiss. "I will be." He whispered after breaking the kiss a small moment, before leaning in deeper, and kissing her harder.
Olivia felt the sun was starting to rise, she only came here to see Fernando off, but she kept looking around the Docks not seeing anything, she wanted to be able to hope for the best, but the sun was rising and the feeling rising higher in her stomach with the rising sun.
Alfonse had driven to the docks, feeling in his own stomach that something wasn't right with the plan, he had ran down the docks. "Excuse me? Boat 312... Why is it still here? didn't somebody rent it?" He was nervous as he asked the white man who held a clipboard.
"It was reserved but no one picked it up..." He explained.
Olivia jumped quickly hearing the man, "Oh I am such a cluts," She then looked to the older man, "I thought I rented 314…" She smiled walking to the man with the clip board, "Guess I'm a dummy." She tried to keep her cool.
Alfonse's eyebrows knitted together confused. But also his eyes scanned over the beautiful white woman. "Fernando?" He asked, not wanting to laugh.
"No, I'm his…" She thought carefully, "I'm his wife." She lied, "He's sick, and I thought I'd make the most of being away from the puking for a few hours." She held her hand to the man with the clip board, in her hand was a lot of notes.
"Oh... Okay. I'm Alfonse... Your husband was picking up my son..." He watched carefully as the man handed Olivia the keys to the boat.
"Good, cos I can't sail a boat," She watched the man walk away, "So you might have better luck than me." She placed the keys in his hands.
Alfonse took the keys, he was a gentlemen and helped Olivia into the boat, before he walked across the deck and started it up, he looked South East and exhaled. "Okay, lets go." He said pulling the boat from the docks and heading out into the ocean.
Olivia felt nervous, if Fernando wasn't here it meant something went wrong, she tried to keep calm as the boat skimmed over the water, her stomach doing it's normal flips before the start of morning sickness. Her hand held over his mouth, she didn't like morning sickness the first time round, and it was proving to be a bitch the second time around.
She kept looking towards the sea seeing a digy floating, she could see the men resting on it too.
Alfonse could hear distant yelling at he pulled the boat the boat up, killing the engine, he poked his head over the side of the boat.
"Papa!" McGrady said seeing his father.
Lincoln could be heard for kilometres letting out a sigh of relief.
Alfonse helped everyone into the boat, before embracing his son in a tight hug.
As Lincoln pulled himself up into the body, soaking wet he stopped and stared. "What the fuck?!" He asked seeing Olivia.
Michael was worried not seeing Fernando, his eyes from Lincoln to Olivia. Deep down he knew his brother well, but then also knew his best friend too. He rushed over to her quickly embracing her. "What are you doing here?"
Olivia glanced to Alex sitting down, everyone was on the boat, she tried to stop her stomach, but she lightly pushed him away rushing to be sick over the side of the boat.
"Was morning sickness this bad before?" Michael whispered to her, he knew that Lincoln was still unaware of this.
Lincoln was still standing in awe at the situation.
"You know if you just let me go..." James started but stopped as Lincoln glared in his direction.
Alex glared to him, but then glanced over to Michael standing close to Olivia, "You're not going anywhere…" His voice dark towards James.
"Michael kept back glancing to Alex, he didn't know how to feel, but rubbed Olivia's back before looking to Lincoln, "Sucre was meant to be here?" He looked to Olivia, "Why didn't he show?"
"I don't know," Olivia wiped her mouth.
"Something must've gone wrong." Lincoln rubbed his forehead again. "Or he bailed." He added dryly.
"He wouldn't do that!" Michael snapped, he really didn't like how negative his brother could be, his hands keeping together feeling the boat make it's way back to sure. "Something went wrong."
Olivia bit her bottom lip, her hands gently rested on her stomach while trying to figure out how big the cracks in this plan were getting. "Poor Nando…"
Alex's eyes went to his pocket, he felt his fingers starting to itch, his eyes going to look over Michael's face seeing him getting closer to Olivia, and he thought of how he was going to see Nikole, he needed to be with her, as his attention tried to keep away from Michael and remembering that night.
"We just really need to get to the docks right now and go do the exchange." Lincoln wished he had hair to pull at.
"If you just let me go... I promise I'll make contact with him." James tried again.
"SHUT UP!" Lincoln snapped stressed at him
Olivia jumped, she hated it when Lincoln would yell, and her hands held her stomach again, she couldn't control her reflex action. "I just want my daughter back, and if I have to hog tie you and ball gag you to get her, I'll do it!" Olivia's eyes glared to James, "Plus talk to your skank girlfriend about personal hygiene she smells like rotting fish."
James made a face, "Gretchen doesn't smell like fish." He looked confused.
"Sofia!" Lincoln snapped.
"Oh... Right... Yeah - she's not my girlfriend." He added, avoiding Olivia now
Michael rolled his eyes, and Alex coughed. It seemed like they heard enough to not really like Sophia either.
Olivia sighed, "I just want to have some normality back." Her arms folded over, she could see the docks coming to view.
Michael knew his brother was in one of his moods, his arm reached out giving Olivia a side hug. "This will all be over soon." He lightly kissed her forehead before looking around to everyone. "This is going to end once and for all!"
"I feel like, you said that in Fox River." Lincoln muttered.
"Please..." James tried again, Lincoln roughly pushed him off the docks onto the gravel of the parking lot. "One more time." He swore.
Olivia was the last of the boat, they watched two of them go their own way, she turned to the others, "They're dry clothes in the car." She pointed out, then turned to Lincoln to see him in a foul mood, so she kept close to Michael. "Are you sure this is over?"
Michael rubbed his head getting to the car taking dry clothes, "I know it." He turned to Lincoln, "We have to have faith."
"... And a talk with you about pants." Lincoln said seeing the pants Michael had picked up, shaking his head.
"Pants?" Michael looked confused, he was getting changed noticing Olivia watching them all.
She gave a small eye roll, "I was in a rush," She pointed out that she didn't really think about the clothes she picked up. "Plus I think right now we kinda have a lot of ground to cover." She went to the back seat of the car, she wasn't going to ride shotgun, but the glanced to Alex, he was watching Michael too carefully.
Lincoln looked at James and at Alex with a look to say as much as misplace a hair on Olivia's head, I will end your life, painfully.
"Let's go." He said seriously, trying not to get rough again with poor James.
Alex was glade he made a run for it, it seemed like no one was going to go out of their way to chase him, not with James being the key to getting the kids back.
He found himself sitting alone, he didn't even know how to get a message to Nikole, his hands kept glancing down to a piece of photo, it was a little wet, but he could still make out his son, he then turned to see people walking by, he brushed his hands over his forehead and thought of his next move.
Nikole had somehow convinced Gretchen to take the kids for a stroll, as they waited for Lincoln and Michael with James, citing that if Michael had a plan of sabotage, at least they'd still have two pawns, in the puzzle.
"We could just run you know." L.J said unsure of why he hasn't yet.
"You could." Nikole said, simply.
Elle May felt nervous, "So why haven't you gone looking for…" She stopped, "It's that Alex?" She remembered the agent who was after her mother, and he was sitting alone on a bench looking lost.
Nikole tilted her head, before her eyes widened. "I can't really look after you two and go after Alex..." Nikole said staring at L.J.
"No... You can't... Huh." He finally felt Nikole wasn't entirely bad.
His hand reached out for Elle Mays slowly and pulled her to back away.
Elle May felt nervous, "Look, he's all alone and sad," Her voice soft, she took L.J hand, she didn't know his plan, but they both kept close to each other.
Alex's eyes glanced up, he could see her blonde hair, his eyes looking bewildered. "Nikki…" He whispered.
"I definitely wouldn't be able to tell you your mom and dad had a room at the Fin Del Soli, either." Nikole kept watching L.J who nodded. "Of course not." He stepped back with Elle May again.
Before he pulled her to run off with him. "Oh no... Someone stop them." Nikole said under her breath.
Alex could see the two kids running, but his eyes only focus on her. "You confuse me." He whispered as he stepped up to meet her. "God I've missed you." He ran pulling her into his arms feeling her against him filled him with some hope.
Nikole wrapped her arms around him tightly, her fingers holding onto the back of his shirt, as her neck buried itself into his neck. "I missed you, so much." Her voice was muffled.
He brushed his hands down her hair, he couldn't believe she found him, part of him wondered if he was dreaming all this. "We need a plan." He whispered knowing the company would be pissed after she left the hostages go.
"I was thinking, something along the lines of... Run." Nikole admitted, looking around the square in the centre of Panama. "I think we're use to that." She added, having given up her heels many moons ago for sneakers.
Alex felt himself smile, "I like that…" He started, but stopped seeing Gretchen coming into view, some goons holding onto Elle May and L.J. "Going somewhere?" Her voice was cool as she narrowed her eyes to Nikole.
"Oh you found them!" Nikole said quickly, "they escaped! And this one - tried to distract me." She gestured to Alex, "finally someone showed up to help." Nikole shook her head.
Gretchen titled her head to one side, "How am I finding that so very hard to believe…"
Alex stared Gretchen down, "Well you got them, I have nothing to do with any of this now." His eyes went to Nikole, "So we can just disappear."
"How about no," Gretchen smirked, "How about you two come with us and not be killed."
"I suppose..."Nikole had looked at L.J who looked defeated.
"Sorry." He muttered knowing he fucked up.
Olivia stood between Michael and Lincoln, they walked through the museum, everything was busy, and as the stopped Olivia kept an eye out for L.J and Elle May, her hands kept playing in her pockets.
"They should be here," He said scoping out the exits, he knew that he needed a play, they couldn't bring guns in, but he'd know they'd have guns waiting with goons outside. "We just need to be cool." His eyes focused more on Lincoln.
"I'm very cool, the air conditioning is fantastic." Lincoln muttered trying to ignore his beating quickly heart, looking around: looking for anything suspicious.
"There," Olivia whispered to Michael, it was going to be over, well it wouldn't be over until Michael avenged Sara, and he was just doing this to get his brother and best friend a chance to be a happy family.
"Yea I can smell fish from here…" Olivia hated her heightened sense of smell; it was making her quezy stomach worse. "This is almost over."
"You guys." James said lowly, his nerves going off the deep end as Lincoln had a grip so tight on his arm he was cutting off the circulation.
"They're never going to get the smell out of this place." Lincoln muttered around Sophia's fowl order protruding through the building getting stronger and stronger.
Olivia focused more of L.J and Elle May, "Our babies," Her voice blurted out. Stupid hormones.
Elle May's eyes got big, but then Gretchen was holding onto them both, "Smart move," She glanced around them, "We can't bring guns in…"
"But I bet you have a goon on each exit by now." Michael snapped.
"He really isn't a dumb as he looks, sometimes." Nikole commented in an airy tone, to Gretchen.
Seeing Olivia, her eyes found hers before looking at her stomach and back, wondering but figuring Lincoln had no idea.
"Gretchen." James said struggling a bit around Lincoln.
"So. We going to get this over with…" Gretchen looked to the goon holding L.J and Elle May, "As you can see they both are well cared for, so you send over James, and I'll let the kiddies go."
"How about you let them go, and we'll push James over to you." Olivia snapped, her daughter so close, but so far.
Elle May stared over to her mother. "Why don't we just meet them half way?"
"Kid makes a point," Gretchen smirked, "Plus I need Sophia to take some steps away from me." She grunted.
"James." Sofia whined a little, unsure of why people were being mean to her. "Half way." Lincoln said, nodding seriously, he took a step forward with James who tried to stop the step from happening. He didn't want to be any closer to Sofia either
Gretchen nodded, the goon walked towards the half mark, he was making sure to grab James, but Olivia felt her arms itching to hold her daughter, she couldn't hold it as she rushed to grab Elle May of the man.
Gretchen smirked more, she could see James walking over without add, Elle May jumping into her mother's arms. "Well everything is done." Her voice smooth, "Guess it's time to go James."
Lincoln had taken ahold of L.J, his arms around the boy tightly, holding him. "Dad, I can't breath." He whispered and but returned his dad's hug just as hard.
"What about the co-ordinates?" Sophia asked, feeling jealous of how close Gretchen and James were standing together. "There is no co-ordinates." James had said darkly in her direction.
"You used me!" Sophia snapped, heart broken and James nodded a little bit. "It happens." He said, looking around the museum.
"Let's go." James said quickly, now, seeing the scene starting...
Michael had smashed the exhibit, knowing full well that men were outside waiting to ambush all of them, "Everyone to the exit." A guard said seriously, shooting all of them toward the main exit, more guards waiting for them to be frisked.
Sophia, Lincoln, Olivia, Elle May, L.J and Michael had all passed through the frisk, along with Gretchen. As James was being frisked a guard, reached into his back pocket, pulling out an arrow head, Michael had slipped in there unnoticed before the exchange. "That isn't mine." James said quickly looking at Gretchen for help .
James watched as one of Gretchen's men came running inside, trying to shoot the guard quickly but another guard from the building, caused a commotion, "Ahh!" Sophia groaned after a gunshot ran out, grabbing herself as blood quickly appeared through the bullet wound.
James had grabbed Gretchen's hand and quickly ducked out of the building with her.
Olivia felt the commotion and lightly grabbed Elle May to safety, seeing Sophia had been shot she didn't really care, she walked away from the scene with her daughter feeling it was finally getting closer to being free.
"Michael lets go." Lincoln seen him, getting his gun from the car he'd taken. "Not the time..." He pulled his brother away. L.J was following quickly.
Back at the hotel room Olivia watched as Elle May was sleeping on the bed, she lightly brushed a hand into her hair looking to L.J, "So you saw Sara die?" She didn't know why she asked, but kept calm trying to remember this was all over.
LJ shifted comfortably, sitting on the edge of a chair - his fingers played together, "Yeah..." He said uneasily.
Elle May Shift of the bed, "Where is Linc?" she whispered trying to hold onto sleep and still be part of the conversation.
"He's talking to Michael," Olivia brushed her hair more, "Go to sleep hun." Her eyes going back to L.J, "We've got a lot to start planning."
"I know; but it's hard to start planning: I feel like something else is going to go wrong." LJ admitted to Olivia, he kept watching her movements.
Olivia didn't know what to say, "L.J, we're going to start a life here." She felt that Elle May had fallen into a deeper sleep. "I just want us to be a family, and I don't want to do it if it's something you don't want."
LJ kept watching her, he ran his thumb over his bottom lip now. "You're pregnant, aren't you?" He asked in a monotone.
Olivia glanced to Elle May, she couldn't lie, "I haven't talk to your father about it yet," She kept brushing her fingers through Elle May's hair, she felt horrible, "I'm about eight weeks." Her voice dropped, she couldn't think of what else to say watching L.J, "And it's Lincoln's."
"... Oh, that's good." LJ made a face, not assuming it was anyone but his fathers. "You're doing a horrible job of hiding it." He admitted. "But, congratulations." He smiled a little.
"Well you be surprised how much he's not guessed so far," Olivia tried not to laugh, "But having everything that was going on, I couldn't tell him I am having a baby while he's son was taken by evil." Her eyes were going down to Elle May. "Just the longer I've left it, The harder it is to tell him."
"I would tell him soon; you should know my dad well enough by now to know its worse the longer he's kept in the dark... Especially if other people know." LJ pointed out, standing up, stretching a little bit. "But, that's your choice, I'm just saying." He smiled a bit.
"Well yes, cos Nikole knows, Michael knows." She then inhaled through her nose, "And I am pretty sure that Elle May would of guessed." Her eyes went to her daughter again. "But either way I can't go back to the states." She shrugged thinking of the new life to start, and then turned to the door; she was hoping Lincoln could convince Michael to stay with them.
"None of us really can." LJ cleared his throat, "but Panama is alright. I mean... It has beaches; we'll find a beach out... And open that surf shop... Despite none of us knowing the first thing about surfing." He kind of laughed. "We'll be a family." He added with a nod.
Olivia laughed, "Well we'll lean as we go," She thought about it. "Plus I am good with numbers." She added with everything she smiled. "Plus you can help, and get yourself on a course, get you and Elle May back into education."
"I'm tired of school." LJ said with a shrug, "Don't need it, and can't use it anyways. I'd rather teach surfing to hot girls." He grinned.
"Cheeky..." Olivia inhaled. "I'm gonna go check on your dad." Getting to her feet she walked out of the door seeing Lincoln on his own. "Where's Michael?" She was worried feeling shed missed something.
"Michaels gone, he wouldn't listen to me. He wouldn't stay." He looked over Olivia. "He's not a vengeful person but it's going after Gretchen to get it for Sarah."
"Guess he's gotta do, what he's..." Olivia felt horrible now. "I heard Sophia got shot." She didn't know how to say what she wanted to say, her eyes kept looking to her hands playing with her thumbs.
Lincoln nodded, "yeah - she didn't make it." He said lowly, "but... She shouldn't have gotten in the way." He added... His eyes were following her thumbs. "What's wrong?" He asked seriously.
Olivia tried to smile, but her hands stopped playing and her eyes looked up into his. "I've been keeping something from you..."
Lincoln felt his heart dropping in his chest. He swallowed carefully as he asked her; "What's that?"
Olivia felt a heavy weight on her chest; her eyes going to Lincoln feeling scared. She remembered that day Lincoln found out that Lisa was pregnant and how angry he was at her.
Eyes drifting to her hands again, she moved them to her stomach and inhaled sharp.
"Olivia... What's wrong? Just split it out..." Lincoln hated the feeling of being kept in the dark.
Olivia kept her eyes towards the ground, her fingers grazed over her exposed stomach. Her voice was a little whisper. "I'm pregnant..." She closed her eyes and waiting for the backlash.
His eyebrows knitting together, at first Lincoln wasn't entirely sure he heard her correctly, as she spoke and her eyes closed, Lincoln thought about it and it finally registered in his mind. "You're pregnant?" He asked lowly. "You're pregnant?!" He asked again, in a louder voice, exclaiming with question.
Olivia didn't want to open her eyes; she couldn't look at him with the fear in the pit of her stomach made her feel sick, she kept them close nodding her head slowly. "I am so sorry..." She whispered feeling as if she was going to be sick and it wasn't morning sickness.
"I..." Lincoln wasn't sure how to feel, he sure wasn't a barely legal Hoodrat anymore, standing in his income based, behind in the rent apartment as Lisa spilled her pregnancy to him.
Seeing her facial expressions changing, he brought both of his hands to settle on her shoulders. "How long have you known?" He asked, wondering how much danger she put herself in as they were running!
"I'm about eight or nine weeks," Olivia finally opened her eyes, she could tell he was worried, not angry at her. She bit her bottom life, "I've known since we found out the same time you found out L.J and Elle May were taken."
"Why didn't you tell me? You were in so much danger..." Lincoln stared at her. "You could've been hurt!" He exclaimed.
Olivia pushed herself off the wall, she felt confident, "But I am fine, and you are fine." She didn't know what to add, so she brushed his face with the palm of her hand. "And we have a family to find a home, and other scary things." She put her hand into her pocket, "And I believe there is a place in the name of a fake person we can live in." She swung the keys the James's second home he never told Sophia about.
With his eyebrows knitting together, Lincoln's head shifted back in confusion and surprise seeing the keys in her hand, "you really are a piece of work, you know that right?" He asked her, with a smile, feeling himself taking the keys from her hand, and leaning in to kiss her... Pressing her back against the wall carefully, his large, open palm touched her stomach gently.
"I get to do it right this time," Her voice breathed into his lips, she felt his hands on her, "We can start our life, together." Her eyes were searching his carefully.
"I've wanted to do that... For a very long time." Lincoln admitted, he slipped the keys into his pocket, and carefully took his hand back out. "I'm old, bare with me here." He added, as he got down on one knee. "Oh, I'm not getting back up." He whispered, before looking up Olivia. "Olivia." He said, "I've not really done much right in my life... Ever. But I want to do this right." He finally showed his hand, holding a simple ring with a diamond between his index finger and thumb.
"We've... Done a lot of crazy shit in the last few months." He wanted to laugh about it, "... But, I really wouldn't have wanted to be stuck breaking out of prison, fleeing the country and running from the feds with anyone but you." He smiled. "Would you... Do me the biggest honour by becoming my wife?" He asked, nervously.
Olivia looked to the ring, then back to Lincoln, she wanted to slap him, she wanted to laugh at him, but then there was so much she wanted to say but couldn't find the words, out of everything she found herself speechless. "Damn you Burrows!" She got down on her knees looking into his eyes. "Of course I'll marry you." She grabbed his face kissing him, she wanted this moment her whole life.
"We're going to be brother and sister now!" Elle Squealed, looking to L.J, both of them standing in the hallway.
"Oh lord." LJ rolled his eyes listening to the youngest of the two of them, squealing, his eyes averted as his father kissed his soon to be step-mother.
Lincoln was grinning, feeling Olivia kissing him, he was kissing her back as his hands moved swiftly, slipping the ring onto her finger carefully.
