Just one upd8.
And then?
Who knows.
You really are dreading the end of the Gigapause. Your first fandom, the first of media to dominate your subconscious many times.
You love Homestuck.
You only realize, as it lies on its deathbed, that you love Homestuck so much you can hardly bear it; that you loved Homestuck.
Now?
Now, you're not sure what you love.
You love One Piece, you know this for certain. You've dreamt of it many times, most recently, Ace being the object of both Zahhak's affections (but him only returning Horuss'). You know you'll continue to stay in the One Piece fandom, hopefully until it too reaches its fated end.
What then?
By then, you're sure you'll have found a new fandom to be a part of. You are young, with a whole life ahead of you. Even if Homestuck leaves your mind for a while, you're sure you'll remember it.
Sometimes.
A young woman stands in Food Lion. It just so happens that today, the seventeenth of October, is not this young woman's birthday. But the year is 2023, and ten years ago Homestuck ended.
She walks down the baking aisle and selects several boxes of Betty Crocker cake mix, recalling Jane Crocker, and ) (er Imperious Condescension, and Sea Hitler, and poor Dirk Strider and Roxy Lalonde. You had ordered several boxes of Faygo earlier in the week, and you remember Gamzee Makara, and Terezi Pyrope being caught up in his world, and even Kurloz Makara, and Doc Scratch and Lord English.
You remember all of it.
Your fandom has, since the comic's end, heralded October 17th as the day Homestuck died.
One.
More.
