Sam and Kevin settled into Baker Street relatively well, especially since they had two people who could move their things from the Bunker to Baker Street in the blink of an eye. Sam got along with John and Mrs. Hudson extremely well and Mrs. Hudson doted on Kevin like a grandson. Mrs. Tran had been notified, whom had escaped relatively unscathed after the Leviathans had been taken care of, and after a favor called in by John, Mycroft set up a scholarship and enrolled Kevin at King's College in downtown London. The prophet would still live at Baker Street for his protection, but he was able to at least have as much as a normal life as possible considering the circumstances. Kevin, after being berated by Sam and John, had also gotten an anti-possession tattoo. John was currently on a mission to convince Mycroft of getting one because god knows what would happen to the earth if there was a demon Mycroft on the loose.

The only one who currently wasn't happy was Sherlock.

"I enjoy disguising myself but this is just stifling."

Gabriel and Sherlock were sitting on top of the clock tower that held Big Ben just watching the city below them as the sun set.

"I can understand that. But do you really want to 'revive' yourself only to put your friends and colleagues through the emotional wringer again once you have to fake your death so it doesn't look weird that you're living an extra-long time? How about aging yourself every couple months so it looks like you're human? Your body is pretty much permanently stuck at 35." Gabriel replied calmly and his son groaned.

"Can't they just appreciate the fact that I'm alive so I can catch criminals again?"

"Would you be satisfied merely going after boring old human criminals again after everything we've been through so far?"

Sherlock eyed Gabriel who merely shrugged.

"I'm just saying that you got bored when you were still a human and now you're capable of things far greater than you were before."

"Is this some sort of 'parent pep talk' because you are acting strangely responsible and sensible right now? I don't like it."

Gabriel let out a laugh.

"I have my moments. I do have to say, having a kid, even if I've only gotten to know you in the past year now, changes a being a bit. Besides, I was a stuck-up prick like the rest of my family first. Then I finally got to see what real living is like down here on earth. Forgive me if I back track a little in my old age."

The two sat there as the city began to light up and the sun disappeared over the horizon. Despite the hustle and bustle on the streets below, things felt peaceful and subdued.

"How do you not get bored? You've been around for thousands of years and yet you still enjoy the simple things in life."

Gabriel looked over to Sherlock who looked over the city with his keen eyes. No doubt running some deductions in the back of his head in habit.

"Well…it's always interesting. If anything, I spend time looking at how far humanity and the universe has come. You may not be interested in the rest of the universe now, but I will guarantee you that there is more out there than humans have ever imagined. I mean, I was one of the few who have been around since before there was really even heaven. There just was. There was Father, and then my three older siblings."

Gabriel sighed and laid back on the roof while Sherlock looked over to him curiously.

"I guess that's why Lucifer's betrayal hurt so badly and why I held on as long as I did to my 'neutrality'. I mean, we were around together the longest and Lucifer and I spent a lot of our time together hanging out with the fledglings once Dad created heaven and things started to kick off. He was kind, and loved us all so much. But when Dad told us to look after Earth, well things went downhill. Humans came along and I'd never seen Lucifer actually angry before. His rage and jealousy overwhelmed him because he just wanted to love Dad and our family and screw everyone else. Then the split happened and Lucifer and the others who followed him were cast out. I split because I had seen my brothers and sisters change so much and I understood where all of them were coming from and couldn't really choose a side.

"That's honestly how I got so wrapped up in humanity." He looked over to his son who was extremely engaged in his story. "I wanted to be distracted by what happened. I wanted to see what made my family pretty much rip apart. It took a while, but I finally found it and understood why Dad loved humans so much and kinda just spent my time watching them. I interacted with them every once in a while but kept my distance for a bit before I decided to rename myself and disguise myself from my family and became Loki."

The former detective looked out on the city.

"So you kept an eye out on them but didn't really directly interfere."

"Dad gave free will to everyone, even angels. We just didn't realize it and by time some of us did, or at least the outspoken ones did, things had been running the same way for a while and it scared the old group. The only reason why Lucifer was cast out was because he actually hurt people. Similar to a crime here on earth. If he actually repented for his actions, he could have gotten out a lot sooner along with the others. Then things got warped and demons came along. That's when true free will came into play."

"And that's why you like humans?"

"That's why I like humans."

The two sat in silence as Big Ben rang eight o'clock and they could see tourists out on the bridge swarming.

"I never really felt human when I was one."

Gabriel looked over to his son who was looking down at his hands.

"I always felt like an outsider. It's why it was easier to call myself a sociopath. Why it was easier to cut myself off from people. Even now it's hard to talk about feelings since it's so ingrained in me not to feel or talk about them and that's a combination of my psyche and now my grace. I suppose that will make me strange from the angels as well."

Gabriel shrugged.

"Well, I can tell you now that there's nothing wrong with you. If anything, you cared so much about people that you would make yourself vulnerable to protect those who you cared about and that's why you hated it and that's why you liked to hide behind that veil." Sherlock looked over to him with an eyebrow raised. "Don't give me that. You sacrificed yourself for your friends- yes they're all your friends- and despite not fully grasping human nuances and social norms, you still worked well in their society and saved people and served justice. Exactly how I would expect a son of mine to act…you even embraced pranks so you're not that bad of a kid. You're just better at hiding it which works in your favor." Gabriel said with a grin and Sherlock let out a smirk.

"I will admit, tricking people is rather enjoyable and it's rarely boring."

"See? Now, we've been having a rare heart-to-heart moment which I don't think we'll be repeating in the near future and we've laid down our cards. It's time for something to lift the spirits. How about we go prank Mycroft?"

Sherlock's eyes gleamed in mirth and Gabriel knew he had the archangel hooked.

"I am going to steal his umbrella and make it rain on the inside whenever he uses it."

"Good call. Let's go see what else we can do before we go check in on our leads for getting into Purgatory. We'll need as many resources as we can get before introducing you to the extended family in order to have enough power to breach the walls."

The two figures on the clock tower disappeared and London continued to bustle in the twilight.

Dean, Castiel, and grudgingly Crowley cautiously wove around a grove of trees while keeping out for a vampire coven that had seemed to have formed here in their afterlife.

"This is really a barbarian way of doing all of this." Crowley whispered as they paused outside of a clearing that seemed rather empty.

"Nearly everyone who's in Purgatory was killed or died and a lot of them are mortal enemies. They don't exactly want to open a Disney World and have happy fun time for the rest of their existence." Dean replied, his eyes never leaving the clearing. From the tracks, it looked like the coven had been around recently but not any time soon.

"There's a primal instinct that can't be overwritten." Castiel quipped and Crowley merely rolled his eyes. He would only deal with these two morons until he could be pulled out of nature and back into the real world where only hunters, stupid demons trying for his spot, and angels were going after him and not every single bloody thing on earth.

"There was that one vampire that tipped us off and has a truce with us." Crowley mentioned and Dean glanced back at him quickly.

"Benny?"

"Yes. He was a decent bloke. If there was a pub and there was a moment's rest, he'd be more interesting than team goody-goody that I'm constantly stuck with."

Dean rolled his eyes at the familiar whining and turned around. He wasn't completely off his guard but at the moment it looked like their group was alone.

"Listen. You don't have to stay with us. You could go be gal pals with Benny the vampire and we wouldn't bat an eyelash. Just remember that if you want to get back to your fancy plush office to wear your tiara again, you're gonna be stuck with us until the reinforcements come in."

Crowley actually groaned at that one.

"Knowing Gabriel it's going to be something stupid and over the top."

"He's not wrong." Castiel commented and Dean himself let out a groan and wiped his hand over his face.

"Let's just focus on getting towards that portal we keep on hearing about."

"You mean the one that only humans can get through?" the demon sneered and Dean let out another groan.

"If it's any form of way out of here, it can probably work for multiple things. It's most likely a failsafe for if some idiot human gets stuck in here and happens to live long enough to find it, and I swear to god if either of you has a response to that, they're getting a machete up their ass." He growled and Crowley let out a poorly disguised smirk while Castiel looked as blank as always.

"Gabriel and Sherlock should be able to manipulate the gateway since it takes at least one archangel to control the access points. It is just located in a specific location on earth that corresponds with the portal that will be here." The angel stated and the other two stared at him. "What?"

"And you failed to mention that before…why?" Dean asked, straining not to snap at the one, at least friendly, person of their trio.

"You didn't ask."

"Son of a BITCH!" Dean shouted and Crowley merely groaned and let his face fall into his hands.

"As soon as we get out of here, I am going to avoid any angels or Winchesters for the rest of eternity and down three bottles of scotch as soon as I get home."
