Months went by with little to note. Harry asked Ginny to marry him, and Draco visited his son as often as he could. Everything was fine till the end of May.

Pain was all Hermione could register as Draco rushed her to the Hospital Wing as fast as he could. It was two weeks early, and she was worried knowing of Draco's past in school children. As they arrived at the Hospital Wing, Madam Pomfrey began setting up for the birth. After an hour of intense pain, Hermione gave birth, but there was no cries to be heard from the baby girl.

"I am sorry," Madame Pomfrey began. "But the child is still born."

Hermione felt tears prick at the edges of her eyes, "H-h-h-how is it possible? I did everything you said, Madame Pomfrey."

"I'm just cursed," Draco cried.

"Now, now, Mr. Malfoy, Miss. Granger, this could have happened to anyone," Pomfrey soothed. "Would you like to see her?"

Draco turned away as Hermione nodded, and Pomfrey placed the breathless child into her arms. The child had honey blonde hair, a beautiful mix between the hair of both her parents. Hermione couldn't see the baby's eyes as they were closed when she was handed to her.

As Hermione reached to open the infant's eyes, Madame Pomfrey said, "They're silver, like Mr. Malfoy's."

Hermione nodded, satisfied, "We were going to name her Amber. I think the name should remain for her remembrance. She's so beautiful."

Hermione began to sob, and Draco turned to hold her, but was captivated by the still form in Hermione's arms. As Draco hugged Hermione, another figure entered the room.

Professor McGonagall was smiling till she saw their weeping forms. Madame Pomfrey pulled the headmistress to the side, and explained the situation.

"Mr. Malfoy, Miss. Granger,"the Headmistress began. "I know of a spell to let her live, but she would not be human."

"What would she be," Draco chocked out.

"Your child would become an animal. The animal that would have been her animangus form had she lived."

Hermione looked to Draco before saying, "Please, Professor, can you perform the spell? Will you?"

The teacher smiled, "Of course."

Hermione held out the child for McGonagall who placed it on the bed beside Hermione's. She placed her wand on the child's breast, and whispered, " Mutare ad forma animalis." The still form bubbled for a minute then there was a barking sound coming from the form of a small dog where the dead baby once sat.

The dog looked like a Yorkshire terrier in form, but the color was all wrong. Where the pup should have been black and brown, it was entirely a honey blonde color, and even though its eyes were still closed, Hermione knew that they would be silver instead of the typical brown color of a dog's eyes.

McGonagall handed the palm sized puppy to Hermione who held it close to her breast.

"The milk that you provide as a human mother will provide for her even though she is a puppy," McGonagall explained. "Mr. Malfoy, you will have to continue bringing all of Miss. Granger's school work to her. I hope you do not mind."

"Of course not, Professor," Draco smiled. "She can't leave Amber, now can she?"

McGonagall smiled at the couple, and bid them goodnight before heading off to bed.

So obviously I'm obsessed with Yorkies, and well, I couldn't let Draco's "curse" be let go, but I couldn't let Hermione completely lose her baby. I hope you like it. Also, I kinda had to do this because in Hogwarts Holds the Future, Emily and Scorpious are the only two children Draco and Hermione have from what Emily says to Teddy, so I couldn't screw that up, now could I? At least Amber lives. Amber Athena Malfoy the blonde Yorkie.
