Hey y'all! I'm back once more to continue forward with this story and I will tell you that it's mostly (and I do mean mostly) going to be in Edward's POV for at least the first third of the story. You will see what I mean later on and there will be short split offs to what's going on everywhere else in both worlds but the majority of each chapter will be devoted to Ed's journey.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS STORY IS BEING REWRITTEN SO IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST CHAPTER AS OF 7/16/14, PLEASE GO READ THAT BEFORE CONTINUING ON WITH THESE CHAPTERS. THANKS.

Now back to the fun!

The first thought Edward had as he regained consciousness was that mystical beings and powers really sucked and that he wished his life were at least a little more simple.

As he opened his eyes, the brightness blinded him for a moment before blinking it back to reveal the Spirit Clearing, as he was now referring to it as, where both Roku and Aang were standing.

"Did it work?" He moaned as he sat up from where he laid and Aang grinned.

"Sure did!" Roku smiled in response as well.

"Yes, you now have the ability to control water, air, earth, and fire as well as be the bridge between the mortal realm and spirit world."

Edward mused this for a moment before letting out a grin. The upside to all of this shit that was going on would be that if he ever saw Colonel Bastard again the old man would have to step up his game. The thought sobered him as well. The word 'if' being the key word here. He quickly shook it off. He'd play The Truth's game for now.

"So: I have to learn how to control these elements then?" He asked and both previous Avatars nodded.

"Not only that, but you have to master them." Roku and Aang grimaced.

"You don't have that long either. Spring just ended and we, well my friends and I, had to not only learn how to master our elements but do so before the end of the Summer when Sozin's Comet returned."

Edward turned to Roku who sighed.

"The first thing to know about bending the elements is that there are various strengths and weaknesses. First is between the elements themselves which are obvious but natural things in the world can help boost peoples' abilities such as waterbending is more powerful at night since the moon affects it the most drastically. The same is for firebending and the sun. Earth and air are easier in the fact that they are everywhere and can be the easier to control. The comet that is coming comes once every hundred years and that's what Fire Lord Sozin, leader of the Fire Nation used to eradicate the Air Temples and start the war. His descendent, Ozai, is planning on using it to destroy the Earth Kingdom and finally work on finishing off the Water Tribe since it effectively boosts one fire bender's power to one of at least twenty of them."

"So I have essentially three months to learn four styles of martial arts in order to stop a mass genocide?"

"Sadly, yes." Aang sighed but to his surprise, Edward grinned.

"Well good thing Teacher taught us the hard way of alchemy for a month left alone on an island as kids. Where do we start?"

Roku chuckled at Ed's unexpected enthusiasm. "Well, if we tutor you in the Spirit World, you can learn more since time passes quicker here than in the mortal realm. Granted, you won't be able to actually bend here but if you get the moves down then it will be easier for you to transition to actually bending. We will start with waterbending since that is the element you are being 'born' into then we'll work on fire, it's opposite, then earth and finally air. We will work to get you proficient enough to defend yourself and master the basics then you'll have to go and establish yourself in the world however you'd wish to learn easier."

Edward nodded before picking himself off the ground and shedding his still blood-stained shirt.

"Let's begin."

The Fire Lord thought over his daughter's report of what happened in the old underground city of Ba Sing Se with a sense of triumph that he hadn't felt in a long time. Not only had Azula struck down the Avatar, but had struck him down while in the Avatar state. He had heard from his grandfather that the only true way to kill the Avatar to the point where they'd no longer be able to return would be to sever the line of the cycle and his daughter, his beautiful and strong daughter had become the true slayer of the Avatar. Not only that, but since the battle had taken place in the underground city, only those who were there would know that the Avatar was truly dead. This would be the perfect time to push up the invasion plans on the Water Tribes since he could properly motivate his armies to "look for the new Avatar" and pretty much decimate whatever needed to before they surrendered.

Ozai smirked as he called for his war council to assemble to tell them the good news that they'd be shifting plans around a bit. If everything went according to plan, the world would be his by the end of the summer.

It had been 3 months training in the Spirit World for Edward and according to his new masters, aka the old Avatars, equated to about three weeks in real time. It had gone quicker than any of them had expected but due to his training with Teacher being similar in styles to the bending forms of earth and water, they mostly just had to explain what each form equated to in bending compared to his original martial arts, then just focused on air and fire.

This wasn't to say that he was close to mastering bending of any of the elements. Edward just happened to catch a lucky break (for once in his life) and got a head start. Now the blond was about to depart for the mortal world to begin his true training.

"Remember to only bend one element in an area so that someone doesn't get the idea that you are more powerful than you are. And that you can only train for airbending when you are completely alone or make it to one of the air temples. That would be the biggest give away. Also don't forget-"

"I get it Gramps!" Edward groaned before letting out a grin at an exasperated Roku. Ed had taken to calling Roku 'Gramps' after the first two weeks and it stuck much to the older man's annoyance. Aang was amused by this but wasn't willing to push his luck with his former and stricter self.

"Don't forget to meditate if you need any help with something or when you need to learn some more airbending!" The young airbender said and Edward smiled. The twelve-year old had grown on him and reminded him a bit of Al before the accident happened.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't talk to strangers, keep an eye on my belongings, don't poke bears, I get it!" the newest Avatar exclaimed and Roku rolled his eyes.

"Just find some clothing and something to cover that hair up before you do anything else. I know you'll have to steal a little bit to get yourself going but after that please stick to a more legal way of earning currency."

"No sweat Gramps!" Roku just let out another groan much to Ed and Aang's enjoyment.

"Just follow this path of the clearing and continue until you reach a stone arch. That will be the gateway between the worlds." Roku instructed and Edward nodded. Aang smiled sadly.

"Be careful, and if you see Katara, Sokka, or Toph…thank them for me. If you don't want to reveal yourself just yet, just say we met in a marketplace in the Earth Kingdom somewhere. They might just be happy to hear about me." Ed nodded back at him.

"Will do."

With a short wave, the Amestrian left the clearing for the first time and headed down the worn down path towards the approaching stone archway. With a spring in his step, he stepped through only to find himself in a completely different forest even though there was a similar, but worn down version of the archway behind him. With a shrug of his shoulders, Edward began his first long trek in this world towards civilization.
