I am back once more as this is becoming a daily venture.

Also, since I am one who has crappy WiFi and 6 cable channels in my college apartment, I have not been watching Korra. Yes, I know bits like Avatar Wan (which I watched when I went home because I had always wanted to know the first Avatar's story) but I won't be going towards the Korra plot since Edward is essentially filling in Korra's spot as the next water based Avatar. After Edward, it would go to an earthbender. So, I may reference some smaller stuff but I won't go into much detail since I don't have enough time to marathon Korra anytime soon.

And finally,

PLEASE NOTE: THIS STORY IS BEING REWRITTEN SO IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST CHAPTER AS OF 7/16/14, PLEASE GO READ THAT BEFORE CONTINUING ON WITH THESE CHAPTERS. THANKS.

It had taken about a day for Edward to reach a small fishing village that seemed to hold about thirty people. From the prevalence of green and from what he had learned and observed from the Avatars who dressed like the nation they were born into, he figured he was somewhere in the Earth Kingdom. Well, not like that would help him much since he had never seen a map of this new world.

He waited until nightfall to knick some tan clothes from a clothing line on one of the higher up balconies. He also grabbed a sack from a sleeping merchant, some cash from various places to not completely take all of one person's money, and some food to last him about two weeks if he proportioned it correctly. Edward figured he would keep his clothes that he arrived in in case he needed them since it seemed there wasn't a lot of black clothing around. He did, however, continue to wear his boots.

His next step was to figure out how he was going to camouflage his hair.

"Well, I could always cut it shorter for now and hide it under something…" He mused to himself as he sat on the town's dock, looking at his reflection. It was a shame he was going to have to lose the braid. He'd been growing it out forever!

After another pre-dawn raid on the town, he found a long dark brown hooded cloak that would work perfectly along with a map. He could always ask where he was on it in the next town where people wouldn't notice his newly acquired items. He was gone before the sun rose.

The next town Edward arrived in seemed to be lively yet also extremely disheartened as well. The rumors were spreading that Avatar Aang had been killed in the Earth Kingdom capitol of Ba Sing Se and that the city itself had been overtaken by the Fire Nation. The only reason that word was getting out so fast was that people were fleeing the city as quickly as possible and were sending messenger birds out to family and friends to see if they could hide out in their homes. Edward also learned that he was in the Northwestern part of the kingdom and that he could catch a boat to the Northern Water Tribe if he helped out of course and earned his keep.

It was at night in a small inn to stay at that he meditated to contact Aang and Roku to figure out his next plans.

"You will have to master the elements in the order of the seasons: water for winter, earth for spring, fire for summer, and air for the fall. It is a spiritual journey as well as a physical journey. We only taught you a small amount of each so far to help you stay anonymous and be able to hide yourself better." Roku explained as the three sat in Edward's small bedroom. The blond himself was a little startled when the two had appeared as intangible see-through spirits compared to the full flesh versions in the Spirit World.

"Sounds reasonable and I can make my way up to the Northern Water Tribe to master it and come back down here since I've employed myself with one of the merchants to get a ride up there." Edward replied and Aang grinned.

"You should find Master Pakku when you're there. He taught me most of my water bending skills and Katara tutored me after we left the North Pole. She mastered it even quicker than I did."

"Who's Katara?" Ed asked and Aang's eyes glazed over as he smiled.

"Katara was the only water bender from the Southern Water Tribe. Her and her brother, Sokka, were the ones to find me in the iceberg where I was frozen and get me out. I travelled with them for months. Toph, an earthbender, joined us later on. She's blind but she's able to use earthbending to see and it's amazing!"

They continued to plan through the night as to how Edward should go about finding teachers. Since he had cut his hair short enough to be hidden under a bandana that he'd have to wear pretty much permanently now, he could easily traverse any nation so long as he was wearing the correct nation's attire. Even his automail wouldn't be much of a problem since the war had crippled people throughout the years and prosthetics here were also made out of metal. Granted, his were more advanced and connected to his nerves but he could pass it off easily in any nation.

The next day, Edward boarded a ship bound for the Northern Water Tribe. Granted, it would take a week but he revealed to the crew that he was just a waterbender trying to get home since he had 'attempted to make it to the Southern Water Tribe to look for waterbenders but found none so he was headed home' and even found a pretty proficient waterbender on the ship whom he'd asked for pointers. Edward was on his way to getting the hang of this 'secretly being the Avatar' thing.

Now all he needed was his little brother sharing this with him in his original body.

After dropping the Earth King off somewhere with Bosco since they had wanted to travel the world before the Fire Nation took over everything, his words exactly, the Gaang were stuck. The initial move was to head to the Southern Air Temple to give Aang a proper send off since it was his original home and he deserved to have some peace in his death and the empty Air Temple would be perfect for it.

After a truly somber ceremony where even Toph had shed a tear ("No I didn't. It's just you waterbending Katara."), they didn't exactly know what to do. Plus they had a new member to deal with.

"So why exactly are you with us? If I remember correctly you were the one chasing us around for months." Katara shot at Zuko who ducked his head meekly.

"That was when I was solely trying to regain my honor in the eyes of my father. It was only after living with Uncle throughout the Earth Kingdom and living a normal life that I realized that I would never be worthy in my father's eyes and that honestly I didn't want to. Seeing what was going on from the opposite perspective showed me exactly how evil my father truly is and leaves me wondering why I even wanted his approval. Uncle is more of a father to me than Ozai." Zuko spat bitterly and the Water Tribe siblings looked to Toph who shrugged.

"He's not lying." She offered.

"Well. What do we do now." Katara sighed as she sat down on a rock outside of the Air Temple gates, eyes still misty. Appa was still inside and was refusing to move from where they buried Aang.

"We need to get together as many people as possible to prepare for the eclipse coming up. It's our last shot to defeat the Fire Lord now that we effectively don't have an Avatar anymore whatsoever." Sokka said determinedly as he stared at the group around him. "We will need a lot of waterbenders though. We also need to meet up with Dad again to get together the Southern Warriors and get earthbenders as well."

The group nodded as the sun set over the now truly extinct dwelling of the Air Nomads.
