Disclaimer: I don't own Maximum ride series

The people who are the closest to you are the people who have the capability to hurt you the most. Not someone you hardly know, or the people who just bully you. Sadly, I had to learn this the hard way.

My name is Maxine Martinez, my story is now a guide for you. It will show you how to not fuck up your life as much as I did mine. My life was just fine, though one day everything took a turn for the worst.

Three months ago, I was popular, teachers pet, straight A student and I had everything planned out, nothing could go wrong. Or so I thought.

The change began with a simple storm, grey clouds, lightning and thunder. Staring out the window I smiled. The rain pattern and beauty captivated me. The way the sleek water fell upon the school's rusty bleachers was magnificent. Crystal blue eyes stared back at me through the reflection of the puddles that held the foggy water.

The air conditioning in the empty classroom gently sent a breeze carrying my bronze hair behind my shoulders. As my English teacher, Mrs. Phillips, droned on about how Shakespeare was the most 'inspiring' writer to ever live, my imagination ran wild. I dreamt of how I would go to Stanford and study business and management so I could pursue my dream of becoming a successful business owner. There would be no debt in my life, worry or troubles just a woman and her family simply enjoying their life together. It was too good to be true.

The bell rang with an irritating high pitched shriek, I snapped out of my dull daze and slowly collected my English book. And so my hell started.

I strolled down the aisle of mahogany desks and out the door, my skirt bouncing with every step I took, as well as my blond hair in it's uniform ponytail. The flooded hallways were full of species of their own, the jocks, cheerleaders and nerds. There are many more to list but those are only the subgroups. The 'populars' consisted of the jocks and the cheerleaders, I was the head cheerleader, landing me at the top of the popularity chain.

"OMGGGG, Maxine ARE YOU GOING TO THE PARTY THIS WEEKEND?" My best friend, Lissa, shrieked almost as loud as the bell that had rang moments prior.

"Um...sure? I guess I don't really have a choice now, do I?" My slightly huskier and deeper voice mused teasingly, wincing slightly at Lissa's voice.

Lissa cocked her head slightly in confusion. "What the heck is up with you?" She questioned.

I rolled my eyes and tossed my blond hair over my shoulder while replying, " Maybe it's your clothing that's irritating me, or maybe it's the way that you're only my friend because you want to be more popular." I know that may sound harsh but it's true. Currently, she was sporting a tight, hot pink, leather tube top that went right under her boobs and and mini skirt that hardly covered her ass.

She let out a frustrated huff and stalked away, wobbling slightly on her 6 inch leopard print heels.

"That was hot," my boyfriend Dylan whispered in my ear while wrapping his varsity football jacket clad arm around me.

"Quit it," I shrugged his arm off and crossed my arms.

"What did I do? Jeez." He replied raising his arms up into the universal 'i surrender' pose.

"Dude, I'm not stupid," I huffed, rolling my eyes.

"Huh?"

"I know you cheated on me with at least three other girls in the two months we've dated."

"Oh," was all he could utter in return.

"It's okay. You were a pretty crappy boyfriend anyways." I stocked off with a slow grin finding it's way onto my lips.

What in the world is going on with me today? Welp, I have no idea, but I kinda like it.

Read and Review please! 3 updates for the next chapter! Sorry it's kinda short.
