A/N: Wow, it was a long time since I updated the last chapter and I´m really sorry for that but I was very lazy lately. Anyways, here´s a new chapter and I hope some of you still like and read this story. Well, that´s enough from me now, I hope you enjoy reading and if you want you can use a review.
"Are you okay?" Julia turned her head to the left and watched as Soap took a seat next to her. Julia nodded lightly and smiled faintly before she turned her head down and gazed at her hands.
"Why do you ask?" She replied and closed her eyes.
"You look pale." Soap stated and kept looking at her.
"I always look pale." Julia sighed, knowing that her answer didn´t satisfy the Captain at all. She tilted her head back and took a deep breath.
"I just don´t like to travel by any sort of plane, that´s all." She sated and tried to find a comfortable position in her seat.
Soap smiled a bit and propped his elbows on his upper legs. He let out a loud sigh and entwined his fingers. He stared to the opposite wall in deep thoughts. He knew that Julia wasn´t honest with him, he could feel it but he didn´t want to ask any further. If she wanted to talk about her feelings, she would do it. He shook his head, why was he even so curious about how she felt? There were other things he should worry about right now. He needed to focus on the mission, he needed to get his thoughts together, to rescue Price and stop Makarov. He admitted that it wasn´t just Julia he thought about lately, everything they been through the last couple of hours squirmed around in his head. If only he had known that the capture of him and his team was the lowest problem they had.
Straighten back up in his seat he took a look around and examined the others that were sitting in the pave low. As he looked at Roach him couldn´t help but feel sorry about the lad. Soap practically had to force him to come with the team on this mission and right now he wasn´t sure if it would´ve been better if Roach would have stayed here with Anna to comfort her. As he heard Roach sigh deeply he couldn´t help but remember what had happened only three hours ago.
"These are the ones who destroyed the base?" Sergeant Miller asked and turned his attention from the one-way mirror to Captain MacTavish, who was standing next to him. The Captain nodded and the Sergeant looked back into the interrogation room, where the three Irish brothers were waiting for someone to come in and start asking questions.
"And after that they captured your team? Cheeky little bastards." The Sergeant added and shook his head.
"So you want to know why they did this to you?" He continued to ask and opened a folder, to study what they knew about the brothers.
"That´s one thing we want to know but the more important thing is what Makarov wants to do now." Soap answered calmly and noticed the suspicious look, the Sergeant showed as he mentioned the name Makarov.
"Makarov? Like the terrorist?" Sergeant Miller raised his eye-brows in disbelief.
"His brother." Soap answered shortly.
"That´s new to me. So all they did was his plan?" The officer asked and turned his attention back to the folder in his hands.
"Aye." Soap said and watched the Sergeant close the folder.
"Well, Captain. Follow me, I think you should pay our friends in there a visit." The Sergeant stated and both men left the room.
"Captain! Are we ready to leave?" Soap snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the pilot's voice. He shook his head slightly, cleared his throat and stood up from his spot to inform the pilot that they were ready to leave. As he came back and passed Roach he laid a hand on his shoulder and made him look up at him. Soap gave him a weak smile which Roach answered with a sly nod. The Captain patted him on the shoulder once and took a seat next to Julia again, noticing that she had started to tense up. She nervously tapped her feet to the ground and hummed a melody, probably to calm herself down. Soap couldn´t help but smile at her, he couldn´t understand why she was so nervous about being on a plane. He thought about telling her that she had no reasons to be afraid but he was sure that it wouldn´t work on her. So he decided to stay silent and as the plane got off the ground he closed his eyes again and his thoughts drifted back to the events that had just happened.
"What else can we do?" Soap asked frustrated as he got out of the interrogation room. He had spent two hours to get any information out of the brothers but no matter what he asked, they stayed silent and just shrugged their shoulders.
"I don´t know. We tried everything but they don´t show any emotion at all. I´m sorry but I think we´ll never get the information we need." Sergeant Miller answered equally frustrated and poured himself a cup of coffee. Both men took a seat around the small plastic table and stared into the one-way mirror, studying the brothers.
Soap watched them intensely and noticed that all three of them were staring at the clock, which was in the room they were in, every now and then. Soap knitted his eye-brows and wondered why they did this. Did they wait for something? After all he had been through the last couple of weeks he got a strange feeling, something definitely wasn´t right. Nervous he shot up from his chair and walked up to the one-way mirror and pressed his forehead against it. He needed to get to know for what they waited. He clenched his fists in anger, he had no clue what else they could do to make the brothers talk.
He stood there a few minutes, staring from one brother to the other till he finally got an idea. He reached down into his pocket to pull his phone out and dialed a number. "Come on, answer the call!" He said a few times to himself annoyed that he had to wait till she answered his call. After what felt like a half eternity, he heard her voice over his speakers and without wasting any unimportant words to her, he told her about his plan, to bring the fourth brother to the police station.
Soap once again snapped out of his thoughts as the plane began to shake slightly, to Soap it wasn´t unusual, they always had to deal with turbulences, but as he felt two hands grabbing his right arm, he knew that Julia wasn´t used to it at all. Soap turned his head towards her and recognized that she still had her eyes closed. He smiled weakly at her and managed to free his arm from her grip of dead, to lay his arm around her and give her some kind of comfort. Soap heard her sigh and noticed she tried to relax a bit. For a while she stopped to tremble with her hands and Soap thought she had calmed down but as the plane shook once more, she started to tremble again. Somehow disappointed that she still felt uncomfortable Soap shook his head and closed his eyes again; he didn´t know what else he could do.
"Oh, look who´s here. It´s nice to see you again." Gerard smiled arrogant as his younger brother took a seat and tried to keep a straight face.
"Can´t tell you the same." Ian answered full of anger. If he could he would punch this silly smile out of his brother's face, but he knew he had to keep calm.
"What´s Makarov´s next step?" Ian asked curious and waited for one of his brother to answer his question.
"I don´t know. Maybe he´s planning his next holidays." Gerard answered bored and crossed his arms.
"Stop playing tricks with me and tell me what you know." Ian raised his voice a bit, only to hear the laughs of his remaining brothers.
"You´re getting pissy Ian? Oh, want to have a hug?" Patrick joked and smiled provocative to his brother. Ian rolled his eyes in annoyance and wanted to ask his next question as he noticed what the Captain had told him about his brothers. All three of them leered up to the clock and started to smirk.
"The clock isn´t right." Ian blurted out; he was lying but he hoped his brothers would believe him.
"Oh, Ian. You think you can make fools out of us?" Charlie, his twin brother, turned his gaze towards his brother and smirked.
"You have so much more to learn, little bro." Patrick joined in and Ian swallowed hard, why must his brothers make all of this so complicated?
"For what do you wait?" Ian continued to ask with a shaking voice; there must be something he could do to make them talk.
"Ian, Ian. Why do you care? It´s none of your business." Gerard stated and shook his head.
"If you´re trying to kill more people it´s my business. I won´t let you help to start a new war." Ian answered angry, why didn´t his brothers understand that this was too big for them? Why couldn´t they see that Makarov only used them?
"Try to kill people? Ian, we never killed anyone before." Charlie now answered and looked disappointed to Ian.
"That´s a lie and you now it. You killed these two fire workers, didn´t you?" Ian asked angry and slammed one of his fist onto the table.
"That wasn´t planned. We already told you we didn´t know that there was toxic gas." Charlie raised his voice and shot Ian a killing glance.
"See? Makarov didn´t tell you about it and you still trust him? Why don´t you just say what you know? What could he do? He´s not even here." Ian yelled at his brother and shot up from his chair.
"Makarov´s more powerful then you could ever imagine. Don´t you see that we only do this to protect our family?" Charlie yelled back.
"Protect our family? What could he do to harm us?" Ian now got very curious, he needed to hear the whole story.
"Well…" Charlie started but was cut off by Gerard who angrily start to yell at his brother.
"Stop it Charlie. The time hadn´t come yet, we need to wait till it´s done."
"Till it´s done? What are you talking about?" Ian asked confused and looked from one brother to another.
He felt that Charlie fought hard with himself, he could see that his twin wanted to tell him the truth, he wanted to clear his conscience. His brother opened his mouth a few times to speak but closed it every time he seemed to find the right words.
"Charlie! Please talk to me. What´s going on here?" Ian asked concerned and stared in his brother's eyes. Charlie returned his look and Ian could see pain in his eyes.
"It´s already too late." Charlie said and turned his gaze down to his hands.
"It´s never too late. Tell me what is going on here!" Ian yelled at his brother.
"I can´t I´m sorry." Charlie said quietly and Ian just shook his head and started to walk to the door.
"Dammit, I never thought you would be so cruel. I´m disappointed, I really am. I always looked up to every one of you, I always wanted to be like you but now I see that you all are just little boys who are afraid of life." Ian whispered more to himself then to his brothers and reached out to the door handle, to leave the room.
"The Captain should have said goodbye to his team." Ian turned around as he heard Patrick´s voice.
"What?" Ian asked surprised about his brother's statement.
"Fifteen minutes Ian. You only have fifteen minutes." Charlie now said and as Ian realized that Soap´s team was in danger, he stormed out of the room, to meet an enraged Captain in front of the door.
"Can we repeat what we´ll do when we arrived?" Soap heard Lieutenant Smith´s voice next to him and turned his head to the left to meet with the older man´s straight face.
"Of course. We´ll meet with the other teams there and try to find out what Makarov´s want to do." Soap answered him, surprised that the Lieutenant already had forgotten what their plan was.
"I know but my question is what we do with the girls. We can´t take them with us."
"Why not? We all have seen how powerful Makarov is, we´ll need them to cover our backs." Soap answered and leered to Julia, who seemed to sleep right now.
"So you tell me you´re ready to sacrifice them? One of them already got killed and who knows what Makarov will do to the second girl he captured." Lt. Smith answered with a clearly angry voice.
"You think I´m happy with that? If there would be any chance that we could do that without them, I would keep them out of all this." Soap now also raised his voice and stared at the Lt.
"Look, I know that you want to protect your family. I understand that, I really do, but we need the help of your daughter. She´s a good nurse and I promise you I´ll do everything I can to make sure she´s not going to be hurt." Soap continued with a small smile and could see that the Lieutenant seemed to think deeply about his words.
"You can tell me you protect her but you can´t promise me anything. The General also wanted to protect his family and you know how this all ended." The Lt. answered him with a painful grin and Soap stared at him, till the words sank in. He shook his head disappointed and turned his gaze down to the floor.
"Come on. We need to hurry." Soap yelled at Worm, who was driving the car, they were sitting in.
"I drive as fast as I could. The phone´s still not working?" Worm answered calmly and saw how his Captain shook his head.
"It´s like they are in a dead spot. Dam, why is there so much traffic right now?" Soap cursed loudly as the car in front of them slowed down without any reason. Angry he reached to the steering wheel and hammered down on the horn, to sign to the driver in front of them that they were in a hurry.
Probably annoyed from the furious toots the driver in front of them indicated and stopped his car on the side of the road. Angry Soap took a look at the driver as they passed the car, only to get greeted from the deadly look from a very old lady with white-curly hair and old fashion glasses, that made her look very severe. Soap shook his head in disbelief; why was such an old lady allowed to drive a car?
Turning his glance back to the road, Soap recognized that they soon would arrive at Gisela´s house. A look to his watch told him that they only had five minutes left. Five minutes to get everyone out of the house, before something bad was about to happen. Nervous he tapped with his fingers and breathed deeply, he hoped they would arrive in time.
As Worm pulled the car into Gisela´s drive-way, Soap jumped out of the car and stormed to the front door. Furious he pushed the doorbell a few times, whilst Worm got to the backyard and checked if some of his teammates were outside of the house. As he turned the corner and stood in the middle of the garden, his attention got caught from Anna and Gary, who were sitting near the detached house.
"Hey! Roach, Anna. Hurry up. We need to leave!" Worm shouted into their direction, to make them stand up but both of them only stared at him, like he was crazy.
"Worm? What´s wrong?" Roach asked puzzled as his teammate ran up to them and grabbed Roach´s arm, to drag him out of the chair.
"No time to explain. I only can tell you that you´re in danger and we have to leave now." Worm answered as he dragged Anna and Roach out of the backyard.
As they reached the front door, they saw Soap, who led the others out of the house and told them to hurry up. Confused everyone did as they said and hurried down the street, till Soap was sure they were out of the danger zone. Catching her breath Anna looked around and recognized that someone was missing. Her heartbeat raised up and she started to panic.
"Anna! What´s wrong?" Roach asked his girlfriend as he recognized she was acting weird.
"Mum! Where´s my mum?" Anna asked shocked and looked at Soap.
"She wasn´t in there!" Soap answered her, to calm her down, but Anna only began to panic more and more.
"She went out for shopping but what if she comes back right now?" Anna answered him and started to turn around the corner, to take a look at her house. As she stood there, she froze in fear; her mum was about to enter the house.
"Mum!" Anna screamed and wanted to run to her house, to stop her mum from entering it.
She made a few steps, still screaming, as Gisela unlocked the door to her house and turned around one last time. Gisela saw Anna standing on the street, screaming, but she couldn´t understand a word. The woman knitted her eye-brows in confusion and slowly took a few steps away from her house, curious what her daughter wanted from her.
As it happened Gisela was only a few steps away from the house and the explosion caught her with all power.
