„This is Shelby Hawkins, live reporting from the inner-city of Atlanta, where a group of terrorist barricaded in the Georgia State Capitol. According to the police spokesman their indents aren´t clear at the moment but what we now is that the Governor and the lieutenant Governor are in the building. As you can see the building is surrounded by Police men and from a good source we know that a special unit is on their way, to take care of this situation. As soon as we have more information we´ll report about it."

The camera-man nodded and switched his camera off. Shelby sighed deeply and lowered her right hand, in which she held the microphone. She turned her head around and took a long look at the building, the terrorists were in. For herself it was a miracle that a group of terrorist could go in there so easily and capture the Governor. She let her eyes wander around and took the whole scenery in, everywhere policemen were patrolling and the road was closed for any sort of traffic. Opposite of the building five military trucks were parked and from their uniforms Shelby could tell that they were Rangers. Shelby wondered why a special unit was coming here, normally these kind of things were arranged by the Rangers alone, and these terrorists must by really dangerous. How Shelby knew all of this? Her fiancé was a Ranger, named Sean Sanderson, and Shelby wondered if he would come here too. She hadn´t seen him yet but she had a feeling that he would come here soon. Handing the microphone to her assistant, Shelby grabbed a cup of coffee, offered form her camera-man and walked over to the few Rangers which were standing by their trucks. As she approached them she squeezed her eyes and tried to find a familiar face. She knew some of her fiancé's teammates and felt her stomach knot as she recognized Foley, the commanding officer of Sean´s unit. Nervous she stepped up to him, unseen by the man, because he was talking to one of the Ranger´s and had his back turned to her. Shelby stood there for a few seconds and tried to understand what the men were talking about, but as the Ranger recognized her, he shut up and looked at her suspicious.

"Hm?" Foley knitted his eye-brows and wondered why the soldier had stopped talking to him.

Curious he followed his teammates gaze and turned around slowly, to meet with the face of the young woman in front of him. First he didn´t move, unsure what to do but as he remembered who she was he showed a little smile and offered her a handshake, which she accepted immediately.

"Nice to see you again Sergeant Foley." She told him and smiled.

"Nice to see you Ms. Hawkins. What are you doing here?" Foley asked curious and watched her playing with a lock of her hairs.

"I´m just doing my job." She replied and gestured towards the white van, her team had arrived with.

"Oh right. You´re working for a news channel." Foley answered and watched the few people, which were standing next to the van, talking.

"Yes, mind if I ask you some questions?" She now asked and waited impatient for an answer.

Foley scratched his head and returned her smile. He wasn´t sure if he should talk to her about the things that were going on in there. Sure they knew who was responsible for the hostage of the Governor but Foley wasn´t sure if it would be good to tell the Media about it. The general public still suffered from the previous war, started by Russia. What would they say if they knew the terrorists were from Russia too? Foley understood that the woman in front of him was worried that Sean was in danger but could he tell her what he knew? Would she keep the information to herself? Or would she use it to inform the public about the danger they were in? Foley wouldn´t blame her, the civilians had all the right to know what was going on but he doubted that they could handle the information. He was more than sure that it would cause a stampede. He stared at her for a second longer before he opened his mouth to give her an answer.

"What do you want to know?" He asked careful and hoped she wouldn´t ask too much.

Shelby thought about her question for a moment, she knew the Sergeant wouldn´t tell her much about the terrorist. Sean always told her that the military kept most of the details from the public, to protect them and that they could do their work. Biting her lower lip she replayed her question in her head a few times, till she knew what she was going to say.

"Can you tell me why a special Unit is coming here? I thought the Rangers would handle such situations."

"They were after these terrorists for a few months now. They knew better than anyone how to handle them." Foley answered her and felt relieved that he could answer her question without revealing too much information.

"Okay, so can you tell me who the terrorist are?" Shelby kept on asking and raised an eye-brow as Foley looked at her with big eyes. She was sure the Sergeant knew who the terrorists were.

"I´m sorry, that´s an information I can´t give you." Foley tried to avoid an answer.

"Why not? I´m sure you know who the terrorists are. Don´t you think the people have a right to know who threats the Governor?"

Foley opened his mouth to tell her that it was the best for everyone if they didn´t know who was in there, as the Ranger, he was talking to before Shelby interrupted them, told him that another truck was coming towards the street. Foley took one last look at Shelby said she should excuse him and started to walk up to the truck, which had stopped a few feet away from them. Disappointed the young Reporter followed Foley with her eyes, curious who would step out of the newly arrived vehicle.

After the first one stepped out, she was sure, that this was the unit Foley was talking about. They didn´t wear the typical Ranger Outfit, instead the man who stepped out first only wore a worn out grey t-shirt, mixed with a pair of green trousers and black army boots. The only thing which made it clear that he was part of the army was the pistol he had holstered. The man looked directly at Shelby and smiled a little at her, before he stepped aside and another man stepped out of the truck. Somehow surprised Shelby knitted her eye-brows, the man who had stepped out of the truck looked a lot more than a soldier than the first man. He wore a typical soldier outfit, a bulletproof vest, a helmet on which a headset was connected and a printed balaclava that covered his whole face. Even his eyes were hidden behind sunglasses and Shelby wondered why he was wearing them, the sun didn´t even shine that much to need them.

Shelby glanced at all the other soldiers who stepped out of the truck, all of them were dressed in military clothes, expect the first one who got out of it. She was sure that the man without a uniform must have been the Captain of the team, even though he seemed really young but she knew her shouldn´t judge a soldier by his look. If he was the Captain, he sure deserved it. As she heard another vehicle stop near her, she turned her head towards the direction and saw that another truck had arrived. Out of it stepped more soldiers, wearing the same uniform as the others who just arrived, only one was a Ranger and Shelby´s eyes grew wide as she recognized it was Sean. Not thinking, she ran up to him and wrapped her arms around the surprised Soldier.

"Shelby? What are you doing here?" Sean asked astonished and pushed her lightly away.

"I´m here to do my job." Shelby pointed out disappointed and shook her head. Her fiancé sometimes really knew how to ask ridiculous questions.

"Your Job?" Sean asked with an eye-brow raised, glanced at the other Soldiers who watched them amused and dragged her a few steps away from them.

"Listen Shelby, it´s too dangerous here. You better get your team and leave." Sean told her with a serious voice but she just shook her head.

"I´m not leaving, the people have a right to know what is going on here." She stated and crossed her arms in defense.

"This is not the time to argue with me, you take your team and leave, now." Sean raised his voice in anger but lowered it as some of the men were looking at him.

"Please, I just want to protect you." He begged but Shelby just let out an annoyed sigh and rolled her eyes.

"If you want to protect me then tell me what is going on here, maybe I change my mind then."

Sean shook his head in disbelief, why was his fiancé so stubborn? Why couldn´t she just listen to him and do what he said? He knew her, she wouldn´t leave if he would tell her everything but he also knew that Shelby would do anything to get the information she wanted. Sean opened his mouth to explain her the situation without giving too much information as Foley approached him and told him he needed to come over to the others and hear the plan. With a nod to his superior and a glance to Shelby, the Ranger followed him into a tent near the street, where they had set their commando base. Before Sean disappeared behind the entrance, he took one last look back, only to see how his fiancé was trying to talk to Ranger, to get the information she needed, out of him. Headshaking Sean let the thin, white fabric that covered the entrance, slip out of his hand and stepped up to the big plastic table in the middle of the tent, to get the details on their plan.

"So, do you have any ideas what they want from the Governor?" Foley asked and took a deep look at MacTavish, who just shook his head.

"Not exactly, our General just told us to come here and check if it´s really Makarov in there. We´re not really sure if they plan to kill the Governor or set a bomb that releases toxic gas. All we know is that if this is Makarov in there, one of our teammates is in there as well and our primary object is to rescue him and the others in there." Soap explained and Foley just nodded.

"So what are we going to do now? Do we wait till they say what they want?" Foley asked and Soap shrugged his shoulders.

"I don´t know. First of all our snipers should take position on a roof top, maybe they can see how many people are in there. And we need a footprint of the building, to check all the entrances. I say we wait one more hour before we contact them and try to debate with them." Soap ordered and again Foley nodded as his response.

"Sanderson!" Foley called out.

"Yes, Sir." Both Sean and Gary said, which earned Gary surprised look from his cousin and Foley.

"Uhm, Sean. Make sure to get a footprint, Ramirez, you go with the other snipers and check out the rooftops, if you´ve found a good position go there and wait for more orders, understood?"

"Yes, Sir." Ramirez and Sean answered and Ramirez left the tent, followed by Archer and Toad, while Sean stayed in the tent and gazed at the young soldier next to the 141 Captain.

Unsure what to say, Sean swallowed hard, before he got the strength to step up to the other man. He examined him and as he took a close look into the other man´s eyes, he was sure who he was. Without any warning he cut the distance between them and pulled the young soldier into a rough hug. After a few seconds he released him and smiled widely at him.

"Gary? Is this really you?" Sean asked still confused but happy to see his cousin.

"Yes, Sean. It´s really me." Roach answered obviously uncomfortable.

"God, it´s good to see you. Why didn´t you tell me you´re here? We all thought you died in battle. Your parents will be more than happy to see you again." Sean replied enthusiastically but Roach just looked down to the ground.

"Hey, what´s wrong? Did I say something wrong? Aren´t you happy to be here?" Sean now asked pretty concerned, he didn´t expect his cousin to be so quiet. The last time he saw him Gary talked all the time but this man seemed to have lost his voice. Sean reached out and laid a hand on Gary´s shoulder but the Sergeant just shrugged it off and sighed.

"Listen Sean, when this is over we have the time to talk but right now we have to focus. You should do what your superior told you and get the footprint." Roach just answered and leered up to his cousin, who just shook his head.

"You´re right Gary but promise me we´ll talk later. You need to explain why you kept hiding from me." Sean answered him and turned around to leave the tent.

"Sure Sean, sure." Gary whispered and glanced up as he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Promise me to really talk to him and don´t just leave without making things clear." Ghost told him and patted him on the shoulder, before he turned around and discussed something with Soap.

Roach just shook his head lightly and turned his attention to the entrance, where his cousin disappeared right now. Maybe he would talk to Sean, but he wouldn´t visit his family. He couldn´t stand to show his face to his parents, he couldn´t even stand his face in a mirror, how should his family handle with it?
