The (Ex)Arrogant Prat

"There we are!" Dominique announces, placing the last stroke of make up on her sister with a dramatic flourish, "You're all set to marry Teddy!"

Victoire hesitantly walks over to the full length mirror in the corner of the room, and when she sees herself, claps her hands over her mouth, her eyes tearing up.

"Don't cry!" Lily exclaims, "You'll mess your make-up up!" This obviously makes Victoire tear up even more, and she grabs me, Dominique and Lily into a bone crushing hug, which we all return enthusiastically.

"Come on Vic." I grin, once she has calmed down, readjusting her beautiful veil, while Dominique carefully wipes at her eyes, "You don't want to keep you're husband to be waiting."

Molly and Lucy are waiting for us just outside the room, and we all head down to the ceremony, surrounding our beautiful cousin.

We are holding the wedding at Grandma Molly's house, and, as me, Dominique, Lily, Molly and Lucy follow Vicki down the aisle, I admire the incredible décor. White Roses are placed artistically everywhere outside, and red ones are growing up the side of the strange house, giving it a rather poetic charm. A white pavilion is shading all of the guests, who are seated on simple chairs for the ceremony. Gnomes are watching the whole thing curiously, and I have to bite my lip to keep from laughing when I see that they have been charmed to wear tiny tuxedos with different colored bow-ties.

The ceremony passes rather quickly, and when the two newly weds kiss, everyone screams and cheers and hugs, and there is a loud clatter as many chairs are knocked over from the excitement. Me and my cousins and family all go up to hug Victoire and Teddy, who just laugh at all the attention, never letting go of each other's hands. Victoire, being part Veela, is always beautiful, but she looks particularly radiant today, practically shinning with joy and wearing the same lovely, plain white dress that her mother, Fleur, wore for her wedding.

After that, a huge buffet appears in the middle of the garden, and I wander around the house, chatting with anyone that I recognize and munching on a large variety of desserts. I feel perfectly happy in the fading light and with y adored cakes, until I see a familiar blond head in the crowd. Shit...

He almost doesn't see me. He's walking the other way, thankfully away from me, when my idiot cousin comes up beside me and shouts : "Scorpius!"

"Shut up, Albus!" I groan, "Couldn't you go somewhere else to talk to him?"

He just grins at me, "But that would deprive you of the immense pleasure of speaking to your crush, Rosie..." He answers, as if he is doing me an immense favour.

"I swear, if you tell Scorpius about that I will so kill you." I threaten, in what I hope is an immensely threatening voice.

"Tell me what?" Double shit...

"Nothing!" I say, far too quickly and with my voice slightly higher than usual.

"I knew you were a bad liar, but that is really exaggerating..." Scorpius answered, raising one eyebrow curiously. Albus snorts in a most unattractive manner.

"I think I just saw Aliza over there, see you!"

He is so dead once the guests leave.

"Since when are Al and Aliza together?" Scorpius asks, watching Al and Aliza snog incredulously.

"They got together a few weeks ago, my stupid cousins made me drink Veritaserum, and Zaza made the best of it" I say, refraining to give any more details about that day, but still smiling as I remember my two best friend's strange way of getting together.

Scorpius snorts. Weird, with Al it sounded like the most incredibly unattractive, but with Scorp it sounds strangely... endearing?

Oh gosh... I am in deep shit. I really do like Scorpius Malfoy.

How am I meant to act around him again? How was I ever comfortable around this overly attractive boy? I feel my cheeks redden embarrassingly... since when do I blush? I had been lucky enough to avoid that Weasley gene! Or at least I thought I had avoided it.

"How can you possibly eat so many pastries?" He jokes, smirking as he points to my remarkably full plate.

Does he not like it? I must look like such a pig with all these desserts! Why am I even getting worked up about this? Surely I wasn't like this before.

"Uh..." That's the only beautifully poetic word I can come up with. I really am so pathetic.

"What's wrong with you today?" Scorp remarks, frowning. Merlin, he's noticed my weird behaviour... I need to go before I humiliate myself further.

"N... Nothing." I answer, cursing myself for being so awkward with him, "I just have my period so I'm not feeling good."

Merlin... Did I honestly just say that I had my period as an excuse? It's not even true! What kind of a girl talks about that with her crush?!

I rush off without another word, my face burning with embarrassment.

"Wow." I turn around angrily to see my annoying brother smirking at me in a very Slytherin-ish manner, "I didn't think that you could make an even bigger fool of yourself in front of Malfoy after your tomato impersonation. Apparently I was wrong."

"Argh.." I make this kind of strangled sound at Hugo's words, "You were listening to that?"

"Yep!" He exclaims, popping the p, "It was so much more interesting than talking to Uncle Percy."

"Uhg... What do you think is wrong with me?" I ask, actually talking to my brother about it in my desperation.

He just stares at me as if I'd gotten a T in potions, my favorite subject, "Uh... Duh! You like him, but you didn't know it before now! So obviously, being the utterly clueless person that you are, you're becoming all awkward around him."

"But that's stupid! I've had a crushes before him! I was never this awkward around any of them!"

He just grins at me, "Don't worry Frizz, that's why you have an awesome brother like me, to get you out of situations like this!"

"Hugo! Don't you dare do anything for me this mess!"

He just sticks his tongue at me in a very immature manner, and disappears into the crowd.

I groan, preparing myself for the worse.

"Rosie!" Uncle George exclaims, enveloping me in an overly enthusiastic hug.

"Um... Hey George, you know we saw each other about an hour ago?"

"I missed my favorite nephew." He answers, making me roll my eyes but giggle at the same time.

A waiter walks past at that moment, and George quickly snatches two glasses of colored FireWhisky from the tray. He hands me the red colored one, in "honor of my hair", but just waves me off when I point out that he's ginger too, and I that I probably shouldn't be drinking alcohol at my age.

"Do you want people to think you're like Mione?" he asks, and when I shake my head, thinking of my overly intelligent mum, he just grins knowingly, "I thought so. Cheers."

We both throw our glasses back in one gulp, but I choke when an overly sweet taste fills my mouth.

"That is so not FireWhisky!"

And then my uncle pronounces the worst words possible : "Snog Solution, to make any two people that drink it feel the unbearable urge to, well to snog obviously. Have fun with Malfoy!"

"Shit." I know, it's bad to swear, but the situation calls for it.

Scorpius :

"Scorpius!" I turn around exasperatedly upon hearing my name. I had just caught sight of Rose and was heading over to see her, and probably demand an explanation for her strange behavior from before, but there was no escaping Al once he wanted to talk to someone anyway.

"What Albus?" I don't even try to avoid the annoyance in my voice. He's with Hugo, Rose's annoying little brother, and two of her cousins, James and Fred. They are all coming towards me, grinning.

I immediately know that whatever they have planned will be bad for me.

"Do you want a FireWhisky mate?" Albus asks, handing me a glass of red liquid. I snort.

"Do you honestly think I'm going to fall for that?" I ask, smirking, "What's in there?"

James sighs dramatically, "You got us, Malfoy, it's Color Change, to make your hair turn a random color. Albus guessed that you would hate that."

I eye the liquid warily, I love my blond hair, I would look so awful with any other hair color. Imagine it turns me ginger! I would look like Fred and James, those two exceptionally stupid boys that are trying to color my hair.

"Sorry, I'm far too proud of my blondness to drink that." I answer, turning around to find Rose again. She's already disappeared into the crowd of gingers.

"Petrificus Totalus!" An adult voice shouts from behind, and I fall face down, unable to move.

What feels like a million hands all turn me over, so that I am looking up at the crowd from before, plus Teddy Lupin and Aliza.

"Nice going Teddy!" Fred complements the groom, who smiles appreciatively at his handiwork. I actually thought that Teddy was quite reasonable... I guess that living with the Potters was bound to rub off on him.

"I like the idea." Aliza is saying appreciatively, clutching Al's hand happily, "It's time those two snogged."

Wait... who said anything about snogging? Merlin, is this about Rose?

"Open wide!" Fred appears straight into his line of vision, holding the mysterious liquid and swaying it back and forth teasingly, "You'll get your kiss yet."

I almost gag on the liquid as Al pours it down my mouth, I've always hated sweet stuff, and this would probably even make Rose, the sugar fan, choke. It probably did more like.

I'm going to snog Rose Weasley. I don't know if I should be happy about this or not.

Rose :

I catch sight of Scorpius, and obviously feel the irresistible urge to walk towards him, throw my arms around his neck and kiss him full on the mouth. Which I do. Bliss. I don't know if it's the potion that's making it so nice to kiss him, but anyhow, it really is incredible. Why was I wasting my time with Jun when there was Scorpius there all along.

After a few short seconds of this heaven, he pulls away, and I notice his cheeks are bright red. He just looks at me incredulously, shakes his head slightly and leaves me feeling far too alone. Everyone stares at me, but I just push through them, even ignoring my close family, wondering if I should just go to my room and cry, or go shout at my stupid cousins and brother. I chose the later.

I eagerly run through the solid looking wall, looking forward to my 5th year at Hogwarts. I stop the moment I get through, and immediately start scanning the crowd in search of familiar faces. My search quickly stops however, when there is a loud screech as Hugo's trolley runs into me, waking up his owl, Storm.

"Move out the way Rose!" Hugo shouts at me, and I gladly oblige, unwilling to get hit by anymore of those huge trolleys.

My view is suddenly obscured by a huge amount of bright pink hair, as Zaza hugs me enthusiastically, and with a very girly squeal.

"Ow!" I complain mockingly, rubbing my ears, "Has your voice become even louder since the wedding? I'd swear you weren't this noisy before."

She just slaps me lightly, laughing, and then goes over to greet Albus, who's face immediately lights up when he sees her. Cute!

Talking about couples... Where's Scorpius? Wait, did I just think about him because of that? I really am in deep.

I kept on thinking of our kiss all summer, how great it had been, and how he had left at the end. I haven't talked to him since, and have already decided that the moment I see him I will demand an explanation no matter how awkward it is.

For the moment, however, I don't see how I'm going to put this plan into action, seeing as he doesn't appear to be turning up. Oh well, he has to get here at one point, I'll just have to be patient, no matter how daunting the prospect of waiting seems.

About one minute before the train leaves, we are all sitting in our regular compartment, wondering where on earth Scorp is, Al, however, seems strangely nervous.

I wave to my parents half-heartedly as the train pulls away from the station, but really I can only think about where Scorpius could possibly be. The Hogwarts Express turn the first corner, so that we can't see our families anymore, and Al clears his throat.

"Um... Rose."

"What?" I snap, feeling \annoyed at the world in general.

"Here." He hands me a neat letter with the Malfoy crest as a wax seal. I hesitantly open the immaculate parchment, and begin to read.

Dear Rose,

I'm sorry for telling you this so late, but my father has sent me to Durmstrang. He was already annoyed with me being put in Gryffindor, and even more when he discovered that I hung out with Al and you. Someone told him about us kissing at the wedding, and he snapped. I would like to say though, now that I can, that that was honestly the best kiss of my life, even though it was your annoying cousins that forced us into it. That was why I walked away by the way, I wanted our first kiss to be true, not forced on us by some damn potion.

I might see you again sometime, personally I will be pestering my father none stop to go back to Hogwarts, so that I can see all of you again. I'm sure that I'll hate Durmstrang, it sounds far too dark and creepy.

I'll see you as soon as possible,

Love,

Scorpius, a.k.a, the arrogant prat.

I curl up against the window and don't say anything for the rest of the trip, even refusing to touch the Fizzing Whizbees that Aliza tries to tempt me into eating.

What a bloody prat for leaving me when we were finally getting somewhere.

I feel so sorry for my poor darlings... Especially Scorpius! Imagine going to Durmstrang... XP The story will get really exciting in a few chapters! One of my reviewers asked for Drama, so please tell me if this is good enough! :P What do you think could happen at Durmstrang? And what do you all reckon the classes could be like? And the people too! I want to make this girl fall completely in love with Scorpius, just for the rejection! Tell me if you think that's too eveil though... ;P XD

Please review! All of the reviews really make me happy... :D
