Surprise!

"Rose!" I'm assaulted by my pink-haired friend the moment I step through the barrier onto platform 9 and ¾, and almost fall down under her enthusiastic hug.

"Zaza!" I reply, laughing and hugging her back.

"Have you heard?" She demands the moment she releases me, and I look back at her, puzzled.

"Ummm... heard what?"

"You haven't! Well I'm not going to ruin the surprise for you, am I?" She says, grinning.

"The suspense is killing me." I answer sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

"It would be if you knew what the surprise is."

"It wouldn't be a surprise in that case." I laugh, ruffling her hair.

"Good point, if you knew how great the surprise is in that case." She corrects herself, ignoring her mussed up hair.

I giggle at my friend, happy to be seeing her again after the summer holidays, and then lug my luggage towards the train while she waits for Al. I amuse myself wondering what the surprise could be, but come to the conclusion that it's probably just Zaza exaggerating like always. Chances are, the surprise is that she got a new make-up set or something.

It's definitely that. I think to myself, satisfied at having figured it out.

…...

"All the 6th and 7th years will spend this year at Durmstrang for the 2021 Triwizard Tournament !" Luna Lovegood, the headmistress announces.

The great hall erupts into shouting, laughter, talking and screams of joy at her words, and I don't hesitate to join in, hugging Aliza and Albus and joining in on Fred and James' chanting.

"We're going to Durmstrang! We're going to Durmstrang!" We sing, over and over again until nearly all of the 6th and 7th years have joined in. We only shut up once food appears on the table, and our hunger wins over our excitement.

"Told you it was a great surprise !" Zaza exclaims joyfully around a mouthful of mashed potatoes.

"Eww Zaza! Al seems to be rubbing off on you." I answer, laughing as she grins ruefully and finishes her mouthful.

"Whatever, you'll be able to see Scorpius again!" She screams.

Several people turn around to look at us, and I can feel myself blushing.

"Yeah." I say, much more quietly than Zaza, so that the students turn back to their own conversations, "I can't wait." I smile, though I'm strangely nervous at seeing him again after the New Years incident, "Do you think it will be awkward?"

"After your boyfriend broke up with you cause you love him? Nah, he'll just snog you and it will be fine." She answers, shrugging.

Somehow, I know it won't be quite as simple as that.

…...

"In two weeks, we will be going to Durmstrang." Professor Weed, our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher tells us as he comes in, and immediately there's silence in the previously noisy classroom. He continues, "It's custom for each school to prepare a phenomenal entrance to impress the other schools. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we could do? The teachers prefer to ask the students for ideas before making any plans. If you could please stand up."

There's a huge clutter a we all get to our feet and stand next to our desks. Which promptly disappear as our teacher waves his wand. He waves his wand again, and the whole room transforms into a smaller version of the Durmstrang grounds.

There's a thump from the back of the class, and a splash from the front.

"Owww." Max complains, clambering to his feet and moving away from the small mountain range which caused him to fall over when it erupted from the ground, while Magenta squeals as she pulls her soaking foot out of a tiny, dark lake that had appeared underneath her.

I scan the room in amazement, my mind on Scorpius and what he must see when he looks out of his window each morning. The grounds are completely covered in snow, and devoid of anything other than the lake, which has a thin sheet of ice covering it, and the mountain range, on which I can make out tiny sky lifts. There is also a large forest stretching out behind The Quidditch pitch, which is placed right next to the castle. The castle is even bigger than Hogwarts, and made out of dark, almost black stones. The imposing black mass stands out considerably in the white landscape.

I grin as I survey all this, and a plan begins to hatch in my mind.

I don't even bother raising my hand, "I have an idea." I announce with a grin, "But I'll need Fred and James' help."

…...

It takes most of the next two weeks to prepare our arrival, but finally the big day arrives. Most of the students which are going to Durmstrang use the last day to say goodbye to younger cousins, siblings and friends, and I spend that whole day with Lily, who is obviously very annoyed at missing out on the trip.

"How are you going to handle Scorpius without me?" She moans, flopping down onto the grass by the lake. There's a bit of sun today, so everyone is out making the best of it, either on the quidditch pitch or by the lake. Me and Lily favored the lake for today, so that we could talk a bit before I left.

"I've handled him so far without your help." I point out, sitting down beside her and looking out onto the lake. It makes me think of the trick which we are preparing to do, and my stomach churns nervously.

Lily scoffs, "Oh and you have done so well. How many times have you kissed already? Oh yeah, last time I counted I could figure it out with one hand."

I scowl, "Okay, maybe not that well, but I don't see how you could have changed anything."

"Trust me da-H-ling, I am the expert at pairing."

I just roll my eyes, and we sit a while in companionable silence, which Lily is obviously the one to break.

"Look at what Uncle George got me !" She exclaims grinning. She's holding a small, delicate looking, glass vial, which contains a bright pink liquid.

"What is it?" I ask curiously, eying the vivid liquid slightly warily. You always have to be careful with Uncle George.

"I have no idea!" She answers cheerily.

"What?" I ask, disbelievingly.

"Uncle George wouldn't tell me, he just said that if I like a guy, I can just drink this and everyone will sort itself out." She says, grinning.

"It's probably a love potion, which is never a good start to any relationship." I say, grimacing at my uncle's tricks.

"That's what I said, but he assured me it's not that. Anyway, I'm going out with Jayden, so I don't need this, and you definitely need all the help you can get with Scorpius, so I'm giving it to you!" She says, stuffing the vial into my hand before I can protest.

"Ummm... I'm not sure I really want this if we don't even know what it is Lils." I answer, trying to give it back to her, but she stuffs her hands behind her backs and grins at me.

"It's a gift, don't you dare give it back, da-H-ling."

I groan, "Fine, but I am not using it."

"We'll see how desperate you get." She answers with a wink, and then starts talking about her boyfriend, Zabini before I can argue.

…...

Aliza, Al, Fred, James and me all grab a compartment together, along with Max and Jun, and Micheal Lee, a friend of my cousins. I was surprised when the teachers told us we were getting the train, as there hadn't been any train tracks on the model Professor Weed had showed us, but I'd supposed we would walk or take a carriage the rest of the way.

The train whistles, and I stand up to grab some nail varnish from my trunk for something to do for the journey. I then tumble back onto my seat with a small squeal when the train takes off into the air.

Thankfully, I'm not the only one that was surprised, as thumps reverberate throughout the train, closely followed by shouts and laughter.

We all run over to the window, and gasp as we watch the beautiful scottish countryside unfold beneath us. We can see the cluttered streets of Hogsmeade, and a small ways away from there, the turrets of Hogwarts rising into he brilliant blue sky. The whole castle looks surreal, and appears to be supported by nothing more than force of will and magic.

The train bends slightly to the side as it flies over Hogwarts, and Robyn, Tania and Laila all rush into our compartment to see the view better, as theirs is on the wrong side of the train. We all giggle and laugh at how crowded the room is, and then ooohs, and aaahs sound through the cabin as we see the castle from above, which much be one of the most magnificent views ever.

The three girls stay in our compartment after that, and me and Zaza paint our nails with the huge array of nail varnish they bought, Zaza and the rest of the girls each put a different color on each nail, but I paint mine only red and gold, the Gryffindor and Durmstrang colors, with my thumb nails Slytherin green. Fred and James also paint one nail each red, "In the Gryfindor spirit" as they put it, and Aliza forces some onto Al, who immediately sets about scratching it off once she finishes.

After that, we stuff ourselves full with chocolate frogs, and I obviously set records on how much I eat. To my horror however, I get my parents' card, which is a joint one which shows them both together, amorously hugging and occasionally kissing. I grimace and give it to Laila, who collects the cards. Albus also gets his dad on a card, and blushes furiously when the girls ask him who he got. Albus never handled his parents' fame very well.

After about 6 hours on the train, the Durmstrang castle comes into view, and we all gasp at how huge and imposing, yet beautiful it is, illuminated by the brilliantly white snow, but almost camouflaged in the dark night sky.

I'm at Scorpius' school. I realise, grinning. In less than an hour I will see him again. Just the thought makes my heart beat faster and causes butterflies to flutter around in my stomach. The teachers come to get us all, and we file out of our compartments to stand in a long row in the corridor. Luna calls me, Fred and James up to the front of the line, and we grin nervously at each other as we oblige. If all goes well, the norwegians will be utterly amazed. And if it goes wrong... Hogwarts will be the ridicule of the entire Wizarding world.

No pressure.

I bet you're all wondering what the big entrance will be huh? Hehehe... You'll have to wait 4 my next chapter ! ;P I am so evil.. ;) If any of you have any idea for what the tasks in the tournament, I would really appreciate u helping me so that you're sure to like it. :P THANKS! xD
