Hey! It hasn't been a month this time! I did it, I kept my promise that I'd try and do the next chapter in less than a month! And I did it in a fortnight! Booyah! 1 point to me!
It's awesome. Nom. - RainySunnyEnding
Kurt wasn't sure what woke him first; it could have been the birdsong that could be heard outside his window, or the sunlight filtering in through the slight gap in his curtains where they hadn't been drawn together properly. Or maybe, just maybe, it was the trail of light, barely-there kisses that were making their way from between his shoulder blades and finishing just under his right ear.
Scratch that. Kurt knew exactly what had woken him; it was the kisses, of course.
He opened his mouth to say good morning, or any sentiment to that effect, but Blaine beat him to it.
"Morning, beautiful," Blaine muttered against Kurt's neck, his deeper-than-normal morning voice causing sensual vibrations to travel down his neck and leave his spine tingling. Blaine's lips planted themselves on the soft skin under Kurt's ear and a breathless moan escaped from Kurt's already parted lips. A few seconds later, before Kurt had time to register the change in sensation, Blaine's lips moved to Kurt's, who was only willing to allow his boyfriend unrestricted access before he even had time to ask. Blaine's hands moved across Kurt's chest, pushing gently until Kurt was lying flat on his back, their lips connected all the time.
Blaine's movements were slow, careful, as he shifted until his body was over Kurt's. Each touch of his fingertips was delicate, his skin just brushing with Kurt's as if he was worried about hurting him, but intentional, expertly placed just right to elicit a moan or a gasp. Kurt hummed contentedly when Blaine's body came to rest over his. His skin tingled at every point where Blaine's skin was in contact with his, burning with the memory of the intimacy and heated passion from the night before, and every gentle movement – feet brushing over each other, fingers guiding each other until they entwined together – was pure bliss.
"Not that I'm complaining," Kurt managed, panting slightly in a brief moment where their mouths parted for breath, "but is there - a reason – for this rather – wonderful – wake-up call?"
"Loveyou." Blaine mumbled against Kurt's lips before he moved his attention to Kurt's neck, nipping at and nuzzling into the flawless skin there. "Loveyousomuch." Blaine knew when he'd found Kurt's pulse point, because as soon as he began gently sucking on the spot Kurt arched into him, bringing their bodies flush together. Both of them moaned at the increased contact, every inch of their skin now ablaze with desire. Kurt turned his head to the side, giving Blaine more access to his neck, and buried his face into the pillow. When he finally opened his eyes a few minutes later, he was met with the sight of the clock, telling him that, normally, he would have gotten up about half an hour ago.
"Shit. I have to go to work," Kurt grumbled, sighing with pleasure as Blaine's tongue traced a line down the side of his neck. Blaine's head shot up to glare at the clock, before reaching over and putting it face-down on the bedside table and shaking his head.
"Nope," he said simply, making Kurt giggle a little in shock, as he returned his lips to Kurt's. "No work today. You're staying with me."
"Blaine-"
"No. No work. Last night was…" Blaine hummed deeply with content, the night before beyond words. "And now it's your turn. Let me show you how much it meant to me." His breath ghosted over Kurt's ear, making Kurt's spine shiver with delicious anticipation. "Please."
Kurt groaned; how on earth was he supposed to say no to that? Did he even want to say no to that?
Of course he didn't.
"So, was there any particular reason that you changed this to a lunch date rather than meeting up this morning?" Thad asked with a grin and a quirk of his eyebrows as Blaine met him just outside their favourite little café that the cast often frequented for its quaint atmosphere and décor. Blaine smirked, knowing what Thad was implying, and cursed himself as he blushed a rather brilliant red.
"No reason in particular," Blaine returned, acting as innocently as he could as he turned to open the door to the café.
"Yeah, sure," Thad teased as he followed Blaine in, "No reason at all. And I'm willing to bet that there is a perfectly good 'explanation' behind that limp of yours."
Rachel was trying to concentrate on her lesson, she really was. But Kurt hadn't shown up that morning, and with no word from him no one knew where he was or why he wasn't there. To say she was worried would be an understatement. Her mind kept drifting from what she was teaching, and her students had noticed quite quickly that their professor wasn't her usual, composed self. One student had asked if she was okay, but she had assured them that she was. They hadn't seemed convinced at all.
He could have been caught up in an accident on the way to work, Rachel's subconscious told her, sending a chilling shiver down her spine, and now he's lying in a white hospital bed with doctors busying over him and Blaine's crying beside him and-
A shadow hurried past the performance hall that Rachel's class were using, and every student's gaze followed Rachel's as it snapped towards the movement. She looked between her students and the door several times, obviously conflicted, before excusing herself and hurrying towards the door. The students left in the room exchanged glances, all of them shrugging or shaking their heads in confusion.
"You know, if you just tell me I'll stop teasing you," Thad reasoned, following Blaine as they searched for a table. Blaine as halfway towards a table by the window when he clocked the rigid wooden chairs that accompanied it, so he quickly altered his course towards a nearby table with plush, comfortable seating around it. "Wow, could you be any more obvious?"
"What?" Blaine knew that Thad already knew as he removed his jacket and draped it over the arm of the chair he'd chosen would be is, and his face was starting to hurt with how much effort he was putting into biting back his grin, but it was still fun to play with Thad this way. "Can't I chose comfortable seats?" Thad raised an eyebrow with a smirk as he dropped into his chair, daring Blaine to do the same. Blaine's lips twitched with a matching smirk as he held eye contact with his best friend, but he couldn't hide the slight wince as he sat down.
"I knew it!" Thad cheered, catching the attention of a few other patrons in the café, and Blaine finally let go of the laugh that had been pushing to escape, covering his face with his hand as he leant on the chair arm. "So…" Thad leant in closer, eager to tease Blaine as much as possible now that he'd gotten his confirmation. "I'm guessing that Kurt topped, otherwise you wouldn't be limping so badly-"
"Oh my god, Thad!" Blaine tried to hiss through the laughter that was starting to bubble up from inside him. "Do you really think this is the best place to talk about… that?" Blaine gestured around at the elderly couples and women with young children that occupied other tables in the café. Thad cast a glance around their table, and, upon realising that none of them seemed to be paying them much attention, shrugged his shoulders and turned back to Blaine, who sighed and rolled his eyes with a smile; once Thad found out something like this, there was pretty much nothing that could stop him from teasing Blaine about it.
"So, am I right?" he asked with a devilishly mischievous smirk on his face.
"Well-"
"That's a 'yes', then."
"The first time, yes." Thad's eyebrows shot up to his hairline and he opened his mouth to question further when the waitress appeared next to their table. She greeted them both and took their orders with a smile. Thad waited until she was out of earshot again before turning back to Blaine.
"The first time?"
"The first time." Blaine affirmed with a smug smile.
"Damn, Anderson… So was it worth the wait?" he asked, the playful mood of the conversation gaining a tint of seriousness. Thad knew that Blaine was the kind of person who didn't just jump into bed after a few weeks with the same guy; he needed the emotional side of the relationship to be secure first: he needed to know he could trust the guy not to love him and leave him. Not that Kurt seemed like the type to do that, anyway.
"Definitely." Blaine beamed, eyes glazing over a little as memories flashed behind them, but he quickly pushed the images away as well as he could when he remembered where he was.
Their drinks were delivered by the same waitress who had taken their order, and, after telling them their food would be along shortly, she left them to their conversation once more.
"I'm guessing Kurt was late to work today, then?" Thad asked as he lifted his coffee to his lips, his eyes glinting playfully over the rim of his cup.
"Kurt!" Kurt stopped in the idle of the corridor, wincing at the pain in his backside as he did so. He slowly turned on his heel to see Rachel scurrying towards him, her high heels clicking on the tiled floor as she did so.
"Rachel?"
"Kurt, where the hell have you been? No one heard anything from you this morning. Shelby was worried-"
"I've spoken to Shelby. Rachel-"
"I was worried. I thought you were ill or dying or something terrible had happened-"
"Rachel-"
"Why didn't you text me or something?"
"Rachel!" Rachel stopped midsentence and gazed up at him, eyes wide and clearly still concerned. "I didn't know I was going to be late this morning, and I- I couldn't exactly call you to let you know…"
"Why?"
"I was… well, I was" Kurt's cheeks flushed as he stared at the floor, his fingers fiddling with his bag strap.
"You were…?" Rachel queried, trying to get in his eye line to regain his attention. Kurt gave her a pointed look and shifted his weight to ease the dull ache he was experiencing. Rachel's eyes widened comically and her lips formed a small 'o' before spreading into a wide grin. "No way! He-? Blaine, he-? You guys finally-?" Kurt nodded with a smirk and an impish glint in his eyes. "Kuuuurrrrtttt! I'm so happy for you!" Rachel squealed, throwing her arms around Kurt's shoulders, hugging him close, and Kurt laughed into her shoulder as he returned the hug. "Seriously, though?" Rachel pulled back and arched an eyebrow at him, her hands sliding from his shoulders down to his hands where they held each other loosely. "First thing in the morning? That's when you guys decide to… do it for the first time?"
Kurt laughed, "No, Rach! This morning was…" he lowered his voice down to a whisper, his normally pale skin stained dusty pink, "his 'thank you' for last night." Rachel choked on air, her face lighting up at this new titbit of information that she was eager to ask for an explanation about. But before she could, Kurt changed the conversation topic. Further down the corridor, he saw a few students peeking out of the doors of one of the performance halls. "I think you should get back to your class," he advised her with a nod towards the doors. Rachel span round to see what he was talking about and the faces from the doors disappeared, making both professors chuckle. Rachel huffed a resigned sigh and turned back to her best friend.
"Fine. But you are not getting away from me that easily; you're gonna tell me more about this later." And without giving Kurt a chance to argue, she squeezed his hands before turning on her heels and heading back to her classroom.
