Chapter Eight

The music pumped heavily through speakers at the club, where Rin was having a great time. She wasn't going to lie to herself that she wasn't shocked and a little more than disturbed by the fact that Will had shown up at her house in Japan, but she wasn't going to let that stop her from enjoying her birthday. She could deal with him in the morning. She glanced around at the group of people that surrounded her: Kagome and InuYasha, Sango and Miroku, Frankie, and she felt such a surge of love for them. Even though the one person she wanted there wasn't, she still was overwhelmingly loved, and loved them back. She motioned to Frankie and Kagome that she was just headed to the bathroom, and started to weave her way through the throng of people.

Sesshomaru had still yet to make an appearance. When he had heard the mortal boy had arrived, and put the fact that they were dating together, he had to take an impossibly long time to pull himself together, trying to control the demonic Fluffy from emerging. When he got control over his demon self, the group had already left, leaving him to catch up with them. He easily got into the club, and sought out the group. He had almost made it there when he noticed Rin leaving, and decided that this was the perfect time to announce his arrival to her.

He was halfway across the club when Rin disappeared from his view. 'Damn,' he thought to himself, 'Why do humans stink so bad?' While he was busy trying to pick up her scent, he missed seeing Will go down the hallway to where the bathrooms were after Rin.

Rin blew out a breath as she looked herself over in the mirror, touching up her make up slightly. She was having a good time, but it was starting to tire her out having to pretend like nothing was wrong. Will showing up and acting like nothing was wrong between them didn't help either, not when all she wanted to do was break up with him. She shook her head, knowing that she should have dealt with things before she took off to Tokyo. With another sigh, she straightened her shoulders, promising herself that she would deal with it in the morning, took another cursory glance in the mirror to make sure everything was in place, and she pushed through the bathroom door back into the pulsing bass of the club.

She was just about to get to the stairs to return to the main floor [A/N: Why are bathrooms always in sketchy areas... like basements?] when a hand reached out and grabbed her arm. Before she could even let out a squeal, she was pushed up against the wall in a darker corner and Will was in front of her. He reeked of alcohol, and leaned close to her ear so she would hear him talk.

"Hey Rin, how's it going? You know, you look amazing in that dress. How come you never wore anything like that back in Canada?" he rubbed his hand up and down her bare arm.

Rin rolled her eyes at him. "Will, we never went anywhere that warranted this kind of dress. Why are you even here?"

"Well, you kind of left me in a fix when you stormed out of my room before you flew out here, and I thought I'd surprise you. Now, here you are looking like that, being a major tease and I'm here. So... why don't we finish what we started back in Canada?" He leaned in to her neck and started kissing her.

Rin pulled herself away from him as well as she could, and said "Will, you're drunk. I think I need to go," as she pushed him off of her. She went to walk away from him, and in a movement quicker than she'd ever seen him move, he grabbed her arm and dragged her back up against the wall. A mean look crossed his face, a flash and then it was gone. She felt the first inkling of fear sneak up her spine, but she quelled it. This was still Will, right? Nothing scary about him. It wasn't until she felt his hand start to slide up her thigh and dress, that she noticed that she was seriously pinned by him.

"Will, seriously, stop this. I am not interested in doing this, and you need to leave me alone," Rin stated firmly while trying to wiggle her way out of his grasp. Will grabbed her shoulders and shoved her hard against the wall, so hard that she gasped when her head hit the wall. She closed her eyes against the sudden pain, and in that moment Will decided to take advantage. He swooped in, and kissed her with bruising force.
