Note: From this point on I'm going to be using some things from the manga. Like I'm going to include two characters that didn't show up in the anime. The ending of this fanfic will probably be based off of the manga. So, I'm sorry if I ruin anything for you. Also I want to apologize for any mistakes. I was typing this late at night.
"Kitsune, you're cheeks are red. Are you feeling alright?" Kyo asked, his face inches away from mine. He put his hand on my forehead. I nodded my head.
"I-I'm fine." I replied. He was just so close to me. He smiled at me.
"That's good." He said. He leaned closer. " You know, you're very pretty."
"W-what?!" I exclaimed. He chuckled slightly, leaned a little closer and-
"Kyaa~" I exclaimed. I rolled onto my side, my head facing the window. I squinted at the sunshine and looked over my clock. Seven A.M, I groaned. I didn't want to get up this early on a Sunday. I forced my self out of bed and looked at the mirror by my closet. My cheeks were flushed and my long hair was messy. Probably because of the dream, I thought. I touched my neck instinctively, waiting for the cool touch of the silver fox necklace. Instead my hand found my bare neck. That's right, I didn't need it anymore. I would no longer become the nine tailed fox. The thought was happy, yet sad at the same time. I shook my head. There's no need to dwell on the past.
I grabbed the brush my night stand and started 'working' on my hair. Maybe I should get it cut today, probably before I bought dinner for Hatori and I. I set my brush down and put hair up in a ponytail. I got dressed and, before leaving, I stuffed my necklace into my pocket.
Hatori sat sipping his tea and reading some papers. He looked up at me.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked. I nodded my head.
" I was going to go buy ingredients for dinner. I was going to make takikomi rice, if that's alright with you." He just nodded his head looking back at his papers. I smiled slightly. He was so quiet. I walked outside, put my shoes on and closed the door.
I looked up at the sigh, hoping it wasn't too early to be here. I walked into the hairdressers and sat down on a small chair and waited. Besides me there were only two other people in here. A short woman with dark, wavy hair walked over to me.
"Good morning." She said happily. "Are you getting your hair cut today, dear?"
"Ah, um yes." I replied. I stood up and walked over to a chair. She washed my hair quickly, combing through the tangles that I missed. She dried my hair and asked me how short I wanted it. I put my hand to my shoulder blade. She started to cut my hair.
When she finished I ran my hand through my short hair. It felt weird. I stood up and bowed. "Thank you." I said as I walked out. A few people passed me by as I walked to the store. I wasn't really paying attention to them. Instead I thought about my dream. Why, why would I dream something like that. Stop thinking about it! My face collided with someone's chest and before I knew it I was on the ground.
"I'm so sorry miss!" A familiar voice exclaimed. I looked up to see Ayame looking down at me, his hand extended. I grabbed it reluctantly. He pulled me up.
"No, I'm sorry Ayame. I should have been paying attention. I was lucky it was you and not a stranger." I replied. He looked at me, quinting his eyes as if he were confused.
"Do I know you?" He asked. I sighed.
"Kitsune. I'm Kitsune." I muttered. Of course he doesn't know who I am. It's been months since we've seen each other. His eyes widened and then he smiled.
"Kii-chan~ It's been so long!" He laughed while embracing me. He looked me up and down. His eyes paused on my knee. I looked down, there was a small hole from where I fell. "Oh no! You've ribbed your pants! I shall bring you to my shop and give you something new to wear!"
"No, no. I'm fine it's just a small hole, Ayame." Was he just using this as some opportunity to get me to wear girly clothes?
"No, I insist! Also I'd like for you to call me Aya-chan." He said while pulling my arm.
"No, I just want to go shopping and then go home."
"Oh come on!" He dragged me away to his shop.
I placed my hands on my knees to catch my breath before yelling-
"Don't ever do that again, Ayame!" Ayame didn't even pay attention. Instead he called someone's name. "Don't just ignore me! I don't even know where I am now!"
A short girl with round glasses and curly hair walked out. She wore a maid's outfit. What kind of store was this?
"Mine, this is my cousin Kitsune. You call he Kii-chan." Ayame introduced. Mine walked closer to me. Her eyes looked me up and down. She placed both her hand on my cheeks. Then she touched my orange hair.
"So...so..." She started to say. I looked her in the eyes. "So adorable! I have so many dresses that would look amazing on you!"
She grabbed the collar of my shirt and dragged me into a small room. She ripped off my shirt and reached for my pants.
"I CAN DRESS MYSELF!" I yelled. She just stood there, waiting for me to undress. As I did she began pulling out dress after dress. Putting each in front of me to see which looked best. Finally she settled on a white one. It had short ruffled sleeves that met the base of my shoulder. Below the bust a black ribbon piece layed. The dress went to my knees. The bottom was ruffled as well. Mine grabbed a pair of white Mary Jane shoes and tried them on my feet. They were too big. She tried a size smaller and they fit. She put a black head band with a white bow in my hair. She opened the door and walked put. I followed her.
Ayame looked at me and grinned. "You should wear dresses more often. You look so adorable in them."
"Can I go now, Ayame?"
"Aya-chan" He corrected. I sighed.
"Aya-chan?" He handed me my purse, my clothes stuffed inside. I grimaced at my new clothes and walked out the door. Yet again I bumped into another Sohma. I looked up to see Hatsuharu.
"Kitsune?" He asked. I nodded my head. "What where you doing in Ayame's store?"
"Getting dressed up like a girl." I replied. He smirked.
"It suits you." He said, holding back a laugh. It took all I had not to punch him.
"Can you just take me back to Hatori's house?" I asked. He nodded his head. He held my hand and lead me to the house. After a few comments of what a cute couple we were I let go off his hand. He looked down at me.
"You do know I have a horrible sense of direction right?" I looked at him.
"You mean you've been leading me in the wrong direction this whole time?!" I exclaimed. He chuckled.
"No, I know the way to Hatori's house. I just thought you should know." He laughed again. This time I did punch him in the arm. "Oww~"
When I walked through the door Hatori sat with Shigure. They looked at me.
Ah, Kitsune I see you've gotten a hair cut." Hatori said. Shigure smiled creepily at me.
"You look so adorable in that dress! Also I heard you're making dinner. What did you buy?" Shigure asked obnoxiously. I closed my eyes and bawled my fists. I took a deep breath and the walked to my room. Before closing the door I yelled-
"You two can have left overs!" I slammed the door.
