Disclaimer- I don't own Maximum Ride but I aspire to be James Patterson.
Plot- Does anybody know what happened after Maximum Ride saved the world? What if another flock came out of a destroyed lab and met Max's flock? What would happen then?
A/N: ehehhehhe…*cringes as I realize I haven't updated since October of last year...* it's here now! Haha… warning, this cycle will probably repeat. Again. And again. And again. \(o_o)/
Sunny POV:
Misty looks happy right now. She always seems to be worried, and I imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that she feels as though she's the one who needs to support us. I wish she would allow people to help her though, like Tor. Maybe meeting the other flock will help, I don't know. All I know is that Misty is all I have, and that I'll do anything to protect her. Even if she doesn't know herself.
Misty POV:
I looked over at Sunny as we flew through the cloudy skies. She shone like a star in the midnight sky, with her golden attributes reflecting light from the sun. Her eyes, half-lidded, revealed her to be sleepy yet still joyful. I smiled at her, who wouldn't? She was just the type of person that radiated happiness, and it was nice to see a glimmer of joy in the messed up world we now inhabit.
"Hey guys, what do you think of some fresh fish for dinner? We haven't had the chance to go all out yet, and I think it might be nice to bring some for the other flock if we want to focus on trying to meet or find them tonight." I said loudly, turning around to fly backwards so I could look at the flock.
This was when I saw their expressions go from happy and excited to stunned and - afraid? I quickly wheeled around as a giant shadow cast over me to see a monstrous, flying… was that a?
Rooney screeched, "IT'S A GIANT TURTLE GUYS LOOK LOOK!", continuing to rile himself up before zooming up to the turtle. Which of course, was when the turtle dived back down into the ocean. His face drooped, turning from excited and crazed to disappointed.
It was Josie who started laughing, followed by Tor and Sunny. Eventually we were all giggling and howling as Rooney, his face distraught, flew down from the clouds onto the beach. We eventually calmed down, and I gave everyone tasks, because otherwise we wouldn't get anything done. At least I admit it, Sky just makes excuses for ages and ages. And so, Rooney volunteered to catch fish, which Sky willingly agreed to, following Rooney with a certain look in his eyes. Troublesome, perhaps? Josie and Sunny smiled at each other, and rushed into the forest to collect fruit, leaving me and Tor to attempt to find the other flock, or at least evidence of where they have been.
"Come on slowpoke! We have to go, everyone else has already started gathering!" Tor shouted at me, hovering in the air, his green eyes glinting as the wind whipped his hair all around. I smiled, and replied quickly. "Fine! How about a race to see who can find them first?" I jumped into the air, zooming past him with a smirk. He yelled after me, "If I win, can I have a kiss?", to which I answered, "As if you'd ever win! You're on, Tor."
Which was of course when he utilized a new ability: teleportation. "Honestly? As if you need another tool that'll allow you to become even more annoying!" His smirk just grew as he teleported again, leaving me in the (literal) dust. I growled, pushing myself forward as fast as I could, zooming past various flora and fauna. About 30 minutes passed, with me only finding a small, emerald looking stone, before Tor teleported back in front of me, his face only about an inch or two away. I gasped, almost falling back before his hand caught my waist.
"Guess what?" He whispered in my ear, coming closer. I stammered back, a blush slightly rising to my cheeks, "W-what?". His eyes met mine, green and blue meeting in a flash. "I found them." My mind went blank as his lips pressed against mine, his hands on my waist, mine flailing in the air as I tried to make my body move, but my brain wouldn't obey.
He pressed closer to me, as I finally relaxed, wrapping my arms around his neck so that my hands were tangled in his hair. Holy crap, his hair is so soft. How is his so perfect, but mine looks like a literal rat's nest every morning?
A good while passed before he finally let me go, still keeping his hands on my waist. I gasped for air, my cheeks flushed as I looked at the smug boy. I huffed before speaking. "What was that!" He smirked, replying happily, "It was a kiss. Also, I found the other flock, in case you didn't."
I twisted out of his grasp, even though I didn't really want to, taking to the air. "Really? What'd they say?" He then huffed, probably disappointed that I left his grasp already. Or at least that' s what I'd like to think. "Yeah, they said to meet around here and we could talk. They seem super nice Misty."
"I don't know, the one time I met that Max girl, she basically treated me as though I'd just killed her whole family. Which is totally inaccurate because I've never even met her before that time."
I then remembered the small green stone I had picked up. "Also, take a look at what I found. It looks like an emerald, right?" I told Tor, causing him to pause and take a closer look. "Yeah you're right. We should ask Sali and Calo about it as soon as possible. They'd know." I nodded, placing it back in my pocket.
We soared back to the rest of the flock, landing on the beach as the other four busied themselves with cooking the fish and cutting and arranging the various fruits and veggies they collected. I smiled, ruffling Josie's hair before flying up to the next and carefully hiding the stone there. Cali and Salo had gone to visit their daughter, Shayla, who apparently had just laid her eggs. They would be staying with her for a bit, so I couldn't ask them about the stone just yet.
I then flew back down, bringing some pieces of wood with me, to see if we could attempt to make a plate to carry the food on. "Hey Josie, can you still do that nail thing?" She smiled, trotting over to me. I watched, always fascinated, as she transformed her nails, slowly sharpening them to iron tips before starting to cut, little by little, into the piece of wood.
Sunny smiled up at me as the sun began to dip. We quickly finished up the food preparation before loading it onto the dish, beginning the flight to the other flock. Tor flew next to me, his feathers brushing mine as a slight red tint appeared to my cheeks. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him glance at me and smirk. I frowned, flying a bit faster, seeing the tips of the treehouses appearing as the warm sky began to darken.
A/N: Mwahahahah I am an evil author, cliffhanger, kinda! Sorry, once again, even though I stated that in the beginning author note… I will try to write more, however, school comes first. (even though I have a history project due tomorrow that I haven't done yet haha!) Anyways, have a lovely day! Thank you for the reviews!
