I have to also majorly apologise for the time lapse, it is now officially in time with current vampire diaries, sorry for any confusion caused. I hope you will a) forgive me and b) review with plot/character/anything pointers for me to think about :) and also just happy constructive feedback!
By this point in time Clara was quite used to people identifying the doctor before he did. She never got over the look of amazement that followed in his wake, as if he were a God. And for all she knew he was. After all, she didn't really know him that well. She got the feeling not many people did.
"Doctor." Said, or rather breathed, the man in the door way.
Clara swallowed and took a step back so that the doctor was in her field of vision, between her and the man - the thing - in the doorway, and it made her feel safer. Even though she knew he probably didn't have a plan. He seemed more the make-it-up-on-the-spot kind of guy.
"Ah-" The doctor fumbled as if the man's name were about to come to him "y-you! I know you." But he didn't, he just wasn't quite ready to admit it.
"I am Silas."
"That's right." The doctor hit himself on the head. "Hello Silas. Can I ask a question? Why can't I see you?" He elaborated "Well, I can see you but there's a kind of psychic filter around you so that I can't see your face properly."
"If you can't see my face, you don't truly know who I am."
"Ah, I see. So you don't have many friends then?"
"I don't need any friends, that is not why I am here."
"I think everybody needs friends."
"That is not why I am here."
"Bit of a dull fellow isn't he?" Clara whispered into the doctors ear.
He couldn't help smiling at this.
"Alright, I do feel like we're circling round the proper topic here. Why are you here?"
"I need something from you."
"Well if you ask nicely, I might help you with your request."
Time lapse
It had been a number of months since the Silas incident. Caroline was feeling sad, for some reason. Silas was no longer bothering her directly, she hadn't heard from Klaus, hadn't failed any of her classes at college, yet. Bonnie was gone. That had to be it. The empty feeling, the lack of emotion she was experiencing. And probably the fact that she had let Tyler walk back into her life, in a moment of grief and weakness. Was that who she'd become, the girl too weak to stand up to her lying, non-call-returning ex boyfriend. At least she had Stefan, the memoryless ex boyfriend of her absent best friend.
She wasn't sure what she wanted, or how to get whatever it was. Until she heard a knock at her door.
"I was just looking for- Oh! You're the woman who locked us in that room!" Said Clara, slightly disappointed. She was a little bit annoyed about the doctor not managing to get her to the year 5042, again.
