Kai POV: I woke in the morning, feeling so much better than before. No more dizziness and I checked my forehead. I was much cooler than the past couple days, finally.

I looked over and saw Nya was gone. Probably went to get some breakfast. I swung my legs over the bed and stood up. All good, not feeling too bad. I left the room and headed to the kitchen, finding everyone else already there. Zane was, of course, cooking with Jay helping him. Cole, Lloyd, and Nya were already eating and chatting away.

Zane turned with a plate and saw me. "Hey, Kai." He said, making everyone turn.

"Hey." I responded, walking in. Nya moved over and I sat down.

"How are you feeling?" She asked, leaning on me a little.

"Much better than before."

"You look much better. You no longer look like a ghost." Cole stated, and I glared at me.

But they all laughed a little and Zane gave me some toast. Normally I would ask for some more food, but I didn't want to risk it so just took some small bites.

Jay and Zane settled in and we all continued to eat quietly for a bit until Zane spoke up.

"Kai, why did you not tell us you were sick?" I knew that was coming.

"Uh… You all had things going on, and I didn't. It only made sense. And…" I was going to continue until I saw Nya's cold glare.

"You need to start thinking about your health more, dude." Lloyd commented.

"I do think about it."

"No. You. Don't." Nya said, cold and angry. Her worst mixture.

I didn't say anything, I just took another bite and waited for someone else to talk.

Finally, Nya sighed and said, "Well, it's not going to happen again."

"Huh?" I asked, confused.

"We've all made a decision. We will have a concrete schedule and no one is allowed to cover shifts anymore." Zane answered, with everyone nodding in agreement.

"What?! Why? What if something happens suddenly?" I really didn't understand why they decided this.

"Like someone getting sick?" Nya said, making me flinch.

"We thought about that. And we've also decided how to compensate for that, with a random generator with all of our names. That way no one will cover multiple times in a row." Zane explained, with everyone once again nodding in agreement.

I guess that makes sense, I guess. But I can't help but feel like I've been on the spot because of this. Like it's my fault that they're changing everything. I didn't want that to happen. I just wanted to help out and ease the burden for them.

"And, Kai, I'm sorry." Jay said, surprising me.

"For what?" I asked.

"I should have just rescheduled instead of just getting depressed that day. Then you wouldn't have felt the need to cover and I'm sorry about that." he explained.

"And I'm also sorry. I should have realized the date sooner and planned ahead. I'm sorry." Cole jumped in.

"Guys, it's fine." I tried to say, but I don't think they really believed me.

"Well, I certainly didn't help either. I'm sorry." Zane said, but I did glare at him.

"Zane. You got hit by lightning. That's definitely not your fault." This time the others agreed with me.

"That being said. You're still not completely recovered right?" Lloyd asked, standing up.

"Well… I'm okay now." I said, but he just glared.

"So not back to full health? Got it." He said, and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Then you're staying here and relaxing until you're really all better." Nya stated, and I didn't argue with her this time.

"Just don't have too much fun without me." I mumbled.

"Of course we will. We're no longer taking care of a sick person." Jay said, smirking at me. But laughed nervously when I glared at him.

At least some things don't change.
