She winces as Tony steps backwards.

"I know this isn't as good as your last one, but…"

The fingers touch together. Matte black metal. Etana twists her hand around, stares at it. Then she shakes her head.

"It's fine. More than fine."

Previously, it hadn't looked like she had a prosthetic. The Shi'ar had used her own DNA to grow her a new arm with additional powers –strength, speed…and an override, in case she ever stood against the Shi'ar.

Now… Now the joints are obvious, mechanical and plain. Cold black metal, impersonal and practical. Nothing more. Misty Knight has an arm like that. I doubt it's the same though. Etana refused energy blasting capabilities and instead requested something that wouldn't require rebuilding or refitting every time she goes off to do the other job. There's a reason Tony wasn't able to build her one in ten minutes. She flexes her fingers again and nods, gets up and picks up a knife, throwing it at the target on the opposite wall and sighs when it hits just left of the bull.

"I may want to tinker with it a bit. Is that alright?"

"Er… Fine?"

"Oh, and Tony, Steve wanted to ask you something, didn't you?"

"What? Oh, yeah! Tony… er… er…"

Etana sighs.

"While we wait for Steve to find a way of saying this politely, I'm pregnant, you want to be godfather?"

Tony steps back, stares at Etana who sighs.

"Not quite showing just yet. I'm lucky, most my clothes are elasticated. Look, I thought you'd want the news. Steve, we've got to go, we're late and I really can't be late seeing not only as it was my idea but I'm going to be the one running it."

Tony frowns.

"That's the Tora memorial project, isn't it? I think it's a great idea but are you sure it'll work?"

Etana nods.

"We're not getting any younger… well, apart from Loki and the new X-Men and… Look, we need to train the next generation and so far the schools are too separate. And… Tora would have thought it a wonderful idea but would have been utterly embarrassed by the name, hence my insisting on it."

She smiles sadly.

"She'd tell me off so much…"
