Etana coughs and the journalists turn towards her. She smiles slightly.

"My name is Etana Rogers. I'm a former X-Man and back-up Avenger, who can't really do this sort of stuff anymore, seeing as I have what my husband persists in calling a 'minor inconvenience,' which you lot are all smart enough to see means I lost my arm. I'm here to talk about a new project in conjunction with Dr Pym of the Avengers Academy, Professor Richards of the Future Foundation and Mr Logan of the Jean Grey School of Higher Education. Despite the rebirth of the mutant race and the sudden surge in superhuman children, there is little training for those whose interests lie outside the nevertheless worthy career of superheroing. I propose to start an Institute for all school-aged children with above-human abilities which does not- as my esteemed colleagues' institutions do- focus on combative training. Instead, it will simply be a school where children are taught to control their powers –not to learn to fight or to be a fighter or to become anything more than normal members of society with slightly abnormal abilities."

She doesn't need to glance down at her notes. She's practised this so much, she knows it by heart.

"The Tora Logan Institute for Gifted Children will accept any and all powered-children –mutant, alien or otherwise- from the age of six in full-time education and those below that age for pre-school and kindergarten. Those of the highest academic calibre will be offered the chance to transfer to the Future Foundation for further tutoring, whilst all student who reach the end of Grade 8 will be offered the opportunity to either continue their education at the Tora Logan Institute or move to the Avengers Academy and –in the case of mutants-only –the Jean Grey School, hopefully to set them on a career path of the fully-trained superhero."

She coughs.

"Students will of course be expected to complete a degree or college course before returning to a team –mostly in case of accidents like this-" She waves her prosthetic in the air, "but also to ensure employability if you change your mind. Which people have been known to do, believe you me."

She glances over at me and nods.

"Steve Rogers has given his full approval for venture and I hope that this school will increase the ties between the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four. And now, the heads of the schools will answer questions."

The others stand up. The first question is aimed at Etana.

"What is your teaching experience?"

She whistles through her teeth.

"Three-thousand years of surviving and helping others survive, seeing most of history happen, have assisted both at the Avengers Academy and the predecessor of the Jean Grey School and also, I once tutored a king. It scarred me so badly that it's taken almost my whole life to get over it. I really need to start thinking about retirement."

There's a slight laugh. Questions fly back and forth, mainly to Hank and Reed, about how they plan to run the schools, whether they think Etana's up for the job, do they approve? And then someone asks the question everyone hoped they wouldn't.

"Who is the Tora Logan of your school?"

Etana rises to speak but Logan beats her to it.

"Tora Logan was many people. She was Marie Circen, the kidnapped child; she was Weapon X-ii, the killer who wouldn't kill; she was Tigress; she was Dragon; she was friend and teammate and wife and mother. And she died for us all. That's who she was."

Etana rests her hand on his shoulder and looks out.

"Logan summed it up for me but I'll add this. She was the most human person I've ever met. And I've met a lot of people. And Tora summed it up for me, all in one person. She was more than a friend for most of us. She was our confidant and that's impressive."

There are no more questions.
