AN- Well another 2 years later xD I find it so hard to get the urge to write these days...I had this chapter done for a while now but never got around to posting it. And I may make future chapter shorter. I've been in a HUGE digimon mood lately and making my fancomic on webtoon has helped with that. I was also thinking of making this into a webtoon instead since writing isn't really my thing. If you guys would be interested in seeing this in a manga form instead, I'd totally be fine. My webcomic is called digimon tamer slaine by the way. Check it out on webtoon if you're interested. And onwards to chapter 3.
Chapter 3 - Divine Digivolution
A bright, overbearing light blinded Beelzemon's vision. He stopped midway through his flight and covered his eyes with a leather-clad arm. "Arrgh! What in the!" He didn't need to wait long as a few seconds later, the light had faded. He quickly resumed his flight. "That light was coming from that temple. Was that, a light of digivolution?" He had a bad feeling and forced himself to fly ever faster. 'Jeri, Creampuff. I'm comin' for ya's!'
xxXxx
She didn't know what to expect. Maybe pain as she was, in a way, digivolving. Maybe heaviness as her body was adjusting to more weight. But no. Nothing of the sort. If anything, she felt lighter and more flexible. As the light began to fade, she steadily opened her eyes. She chanced a look at herself, and she was surprised at what she saw.
Brown overall, with white parts spread around. The armour came with a tail, a yellow circle following, like a pom pom of sorts. She had 2 bits of red cloth floating behind her, the middle wrapped around her waist. She didn't see the point of it, but she had seen crazier clothing on digimon. Her helmet, although she couldn't see it's design she felt hair coming from the top of it. It reached her lower back, easily reaching the point her tail started. A spear-like weapon, and lastly, and probably most important, a pair of white razor-like wings sprouted from her back. That explained how she was in the air when she wasn't before.
Now what?
She doesn't have any experience fighting. How was she going to defeat someone as powerful as Ladydevimon? She probably should have thought this through...
'No Jeri! You mustn't think in such a way!' She mentally shook her head and tried to psyche herself up to at least hold the spear up.
Easier said than done.
She hadn't been involved in a battle since Leomon...
'You're overthinking, child.' Came Leopardmon's booming voice. This shouldn't have surprised her, but it did. She was too wrapped up in her thoughts to remember that he existed.
'S-sorry sir.'
'It is fine Katou Jeri.' She chuckled awkwardly at this.
'Jeri is fine.'
'I see.'
"Hey! What's going on?" Calumon yelled. Again, this surprised Jeri. She shook her head vigorously.
"Sorry. I was talking to Leopardmon. Ok!" She turned towards the steps of the temple where she knew LadyDevimon was. Calumon moved his gaze up towards her, worried. Jeri noticed and smiled reassuringly at him. "I-I'll be okay. Just a little nervous."
"No one can blame you, but thinking about your actions rather than doing will be your downfall right now." Came Leopardmon's voice. Jeri grimaced at that.
"Nice. I loved the words of encouragement...but you have a point in this case." Her eyebrows furrowed as she began to float closer to the edge of the steps. She took a peek over and all she could see were clouds. "Um. Maybe Angewomon already defeated her, and she's no longer a problem!" At this, Calumon's ears perked up.
"Yeah yeah! Maybe we're a-ok!" As soon as he said this, Ladydevimon flew up from under the clouds, looking pissed. In front of her was a battered Angewomon whom Ladydevimon was using as a shield. Jeri floated back quickly in surprise, Calumon hung tightly to her helmet. Jeri began trembling again.
'Jeri! You must fight now!' Leopardmon pleaded. Ladydevimon grinned at her.
"I do not know where on the digital plane your clothing has come from, but it matters not." She threw Angewomon away like she was a mere ragdoll. The angel digimon landed harshly on the stoned steps. Jeri cringed at the sight and went towards her to try and help, but Ladydevimon got in her way. "I don't think so, Sweetheart." This annoyed the ex-tamer.
'I am starting to get tired of her. She hurt Angewomon and she was just trying to help!' At her angered state, a white aura formed around her. It was strong enough to worry the devil digimon who flew back slightly.
"What on earth?" The aura got brighter and as Jeri opened her eyes, the aura seemed to dispell and felt like a harsh wind that pushed Ladydevimon back even further. She twisted and turned in the air until she finally made a stop yards away. "What sort of power is that? How can a mere human child posess such a thing?" She stood upright, eyes narrowing towards the direction the girl surely was. The clouds were covering the sight of the temple. "I have heard of digimon and tamers biomerging but I somehow get the feeling that this is different..." She giggled. "I don't care what it is..." A dark, sinister look overcame her features. "...I'll kill her and see if I can upload her data. It must be possible in the state she's currently in. Hehe."
"Double Impact!" Ladydevimon growled at the intrusion.
"Darkness Wave!" She spread her arms out and formed many bats that intervened with Beelzemon's attack. The blast that resulted in the impact caused smoke to surround her. She growled as she covered her face with her arms. She stood on guard as best she could as she knew the demon lord was nearby. "So many annoyances." She muttered under her breath. The smoke had almost cleared and she slowly uncovered her head. Just when her arms completely lowered she saw a large fist make it's way to her face. She blocked it just in time and gripped Beelzemon's wrist rather tightly. He flinched slightly at the grip. "You've gotten quite weak thanks to my underlings' work. And to think they're quite stupid most of the time." Beelzemon tried with all his strength to fight back and to release his wrist, but he was just too weak.
"Where's...Jeri...?" Her eyes widened slightly at him.
"Really? You're in this kind of predicament and she's all you think about? How chivalrous, if you can even call it that." Beelzemon growled as he raised his other hand.
"Darkness claw!" His clawed hand came down onto Ladydevimon and grazed her chest for she managed to move out of the way of serious damage. She moved back out of his range and the two stared eachother down. Beelzemon was taking deep breaths.
'Damnit! I'm so bloody weak!' He chanced a glance towards the top of the temple. 'Jeri. Is she there? That light was comin' from there anyway.' Ladydevimon was observing him, curious.
"Why did you bother coming here? You can barely keep yourself afloat. And look at how out of breath you are. Why, you're even more useless than a Chuumon." She was surprised indeed. 'It matters not. All I need is one more attack and he's done for!'
xxXxx
"Oh wow! She went bye bye!" Calumon cheered from beside Jeri. Jeri was still shocked that she could push back someone as strong as her. She held her fist up to her face and clenched it.
'That was incredible! Is this what Takato and the others felt when they biomerge?' There was still a faint glow around her but it was beginning to completely disappear. 'Is this a new evolution that only I have access to? Am I really worthy of something like this?' She was snapped out of her musing when she heard a groan coming from below her. "Angewomon!" Jeri yelled as she floated quickly down the steps. Once she landed on a solid step, she crouched down to her knees and held the angel digimon upright. The angel let a small smile grace her features.
"I'm glad, you're alright."
"I'm fine. What happened? Is Shadow ok too?" The angel nodded but immediately let out a groan as she did so.
"I believe he's fine, the last time I saw him." This was when she noticed Jeri's new look. The angel gave her a curious head tilt. "Where did you get the armour?"
"O-oh! Um...let's just say a very powerful digimon gave his powers to me temporarily. I can explain in more detail later." Jeri said. Angewomon nodded. She slowly and carefully got up onto her feet, Jeri holding onto her in case the digimon fell back down.
"This Ladydevimon, is stronger than normal. Very much so." Jeri gave her a worried look.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not quite sure, but, just keep your guard up with her." Jeri nodded and looked back up to the sky.
"Where did she go?" Calumon asked.
"I don't know. I thought she'd be back done by now." Angewomon glanced down at her.
"I unfortuneately cannot go after her. I am too badly hurt." Jeri nodded.
"I know. I'll take care of her." Jeri gave the sky a confident smile, which did not reach her eyes. "Somehow." Angewomon was not surprised at how afraid the young girl was. She watched the young girl fly up into the air. Calumon went to follow but Angewomon held him back.
"Hey! Let go of me! She'll need my help!"
"Oh? Are you able to digivolve?" She asked curiously. Calumon's ears shrunk.
"No...but I can be there to cheer for her." Angewomon gave him a smile.
"I am sure she would appreciate it, however I fear you would just get in the way." She let go of him and he dropped gently to the ground.
"Yeah. I guess so..." He looked worridly up to the sky. He then had a determined look. "Go on Jeri! I know you can do it! Go! Go! Go!"

Jeri smiled as she heard Calumon's words. 'Thank you Calumon.' She broke through a layer of clouds and could now just about see LadyDevimon. However, she was surprised to see she wasn't alone. 'Is that really...'
"Poison!" Ladydevimon yelled. A green coloured smoke went rapidly towards Beelzemon. Jeri's eyes widened.
'T-that move...! If I remember correctly, it's a very fatal attack. ' She tried to move her trembling body, however she just couldn't do it. 'Move. Move damnit!'
'Jeri. There is a move that can reach her from here. All you need to do is lift our sword and concentrate power into it.'
"How do I do that?"
'Just picture the power within yourself going towards the sword. Quickly!' Sweat beaded down her face but she did as she was told. She took a deep breath and began raising the sword.
Meanwhile, Beelzemon was barely able to get out of the fog's reach. He noticed Jeri and was shocked to see that she had digivolved. Was that the word? He shook his head to get rid of his thoughts.
'I shouldn't call out to her. She's plannin' somethin'.' He was so relieved to see her that he forgot about the fog. It was closing in when he finally remembered. 'Damnit!' A bright glow began to form from the direction Jeri was. Her sword, which she was currently holding in front of her, was the source of the glow.
"Beelzemon! You might want to fly back a little!" Jeri warned as her move was just about finished powering up. He gave her a nod and did just that, floating a few feet to her right. Ladydevimon snapped her attention back to the girl, smirking.
"Oh? You think one attack will finish me? You have guts girl, I'll give you that." Jeri didn't fall for the taunt and began to move her sword. Ladydevimon's grin started to falter. "You don't have the guts kid! You're shak-" She didn't get to finish her taunt.
"Black Aura Blast!" It was a mixture of her voice and another's. Beelzemon thought he was going crazy. Jeri's attack went off like a cannon towards the devil. Ladydevimon looked startled and hurriedly got out of the way. The blast went crashing through the clouds and faded into the distance of the sky. She wasn't as lucky as she wished as her shoulder got badly damaged. She groaned as she held her injured shoulder. Even some data was starting to come out of it. However, not enough to warrant deletion.
"Such insolence!"
Jeri was breathing heavily. 'Th-that was amazing.' She looked down to the sword still in her two hands. She gripped the hilt harder and held the sharp part just in front of her face. 'I, I really attacked just then.'
'Yes. And you did a fine job with the attack.' Leopardmon said, his voice sounding somewhat lighter. Jeri almost grinned but she knew this was not the time nor place for such thoughts. Beelzemon flew towards her, still shocked at the explosive attack he had just witnessed.
"Jeri. Are you okay? What in the hell is this?" He asked, worry very evident in his voice. Jeri nodded.
"I'm fine. Are you okay? You should rest!" He shook his head and gave her a grin.
"Nah! I've been through worse than this! Again, what's been goin' on?"
"Oh. This." She looked down to her armour and let out a sigh. "We'll deal with Ladydevimon first, then I'll explain everything. Deal?" He gave her an uncertain look.
'Something about this seems fishy. An I don't like it.' He let out a growl as he looked back at Ladydevimon who was glaring at the two of them with ferocity. He let out a deep sigh. 'I don't like the thought of her fightin', but looks as though we have no choice. But she's right. This witch needs ta go.' He gave Jeri a small nod. "Fine. It's a deal. Tell me everything afterwards." He then pointed his guns towards the lady devil. "Ready?" Jeri nodded and got into a fighting stance behind him.
"Ready!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha! You two are amusing!" She said. She ignored her injured shoulder and made a dash towards them. "I may be entertained still!"

Mana and Katsu finally made it to the temple. Mana fell to her knees, taking in deep breaths. "N-next time, we'll go a little slower..." She grimaced when she saw all the steps leading up to the temple. "Oh darn it." Katsu facepalmed.
"You're just so embarrassing sometimes."
"Full Moon Kick!"
"Yahh!"
Mana's head shot up. "I know that move anywhere!" She sprang to her feet and dashed towards the voices. Katsu sighed and followed.
"P-please don't hurt me! My brother. You can beat up my brother!" Cried the voice from before. Mana pushed herself through the bushes and made a stop nearby Shadow and another humanoid digimon. She got curious and held up her digivice towards the stranger.
"Hm. Yasyamon. Champion level. Favourite moves are double strike and Puppet master. That second move doesn't sound too good." She put her digivice down as Katsu made his way beside her. His eyes narrowed slightly in worry.
"Shadow's here. But what about Angewomon?"
"I'm sure she's fine. Maybe she's wherever Jeri is?"
"I hope so." His eyes wandered the area and was surprised to see another digimon lying on the ground, passed out. "That's Sangloupmon. Champion level too. Best moves are Sticker Blade and Drain slash."
"Two of them? Wait. I heard that Ladydevimon has two Dracmon helpers. These guys must be them."
"Must be." The two sweatdropped when Yasyamon cowered on the ground, begging Shadow to spare him. "How shameless..." Shadow looked like he was about to beat the digimon up but one look from Mana stopped him mid knuckle crack. He smiles nervously.
"I wasn't actually about to punch him ya know?"
"Sure you weren't."
Suddenly a loud, bright burst of power had come from the sky in the direction of the temple. All heads turned up towards it. The energy of the blast was strong enough to rustle the leaves of the trees and grass. Even Mana's hair was blown into her face. "What the heck?" She sputtered, trying her best to get her hair out of the way. By the time she managed to, the blast had faded into the distance. All eyes were still trained to the sky. "D-did I imagine that, or...?"
"No. We all saw it." Katsu answered. His eyes then widened. "Angewomon!" He rushed towards the temple, worried about his partner. Mana was about to follow but Shadow lifted her and then Katsu and sped up to the temple.
Yasyamon sat back, trembling. He looked towards his brother. "Hey bro! You ok?" He found his brother wasn't there but instantly felt pain on his head. He held it, whining. His brother had snuck up behind him, looking pissed.
"You can beat up my brother, you said! And I thought I was cowardly!" Yasyamon let out a whine.
"I'm sorry bro! I panicked ok?!" Sangloupmon growled one last time and stood back.
"Tch! Whatever. I'm just glad yer safe." This sentence made Yasyamon tear up.
"Bro..."
"Shut up."
"Yessir!" Yasyamon followed his brother's stare. "Ya think the boss is ok?"
"I hope not."

"Darkness wing!" Ladydevimon yelled as she flew towards Jeri. Jeri managed to dodge the attack just in time and struck out her sword at the digimon. Ladydevimon grabbed it with her other hand and pulled the girl forward.
"Pois-"
"Darkness Claw!" Ladydevimon let out a shriek at Beelzemon's attack. She let go of Jeri's sword and flew back out of her range. Beelzemon stood in front of Jeri again, guns pointing to their opponent. "Good god. She's annoying!" Jeri had to agree.
"Yeah." The two nodded at eachother before Beelzemon heads forward, guns blazing.
"Quick shot!" He fires his guns ruthlessly at incredible speed. Ladydevimon has no problem with dodging his attacks, which made Beelzemon growl. "Damn..." The lady devil's eyes narrow with amusement.
"My turn. Darkness Wave!" Many bat-like creatures rush towards him, stopping his movement. Some bypassed him and went towards Jeri. He growled as he pushed them away.
"Go! Go! Jeri! You can do it!" Calumon yelled. He and Angewomon witnessed Jeri getting pushed back by the devil digimon's bats. Beelzemon was able to shake off the bats surrounding him and bolted towards the other group. Using his claws that he disentegrated with ease. "You too Beelzemon! Beat them up!"
"It's very fascinating to see them fight together. A human and a digimon."
"Mm-hm. Those two have always made a great team too!" Angewomon stared down at him.
"Oh. They're partners then?" At this, Calumon's ears hid themselves.
"Well. No." He became chipper again. "But they're fine the way they are. Mm hm! They might as well be partners!" The angel could not help but smile at the smaller one's enthusiasm.
"I see." Calumon was about to cheer again when the angel suddenly lifted him and bolted away from their spot on the temple steps. Someone had crashed into their previous spot not seconds later. The person let out a deep groan.
"Beelzemon!" Calumon yelled. The demon lord painfully began to sit up. "You okay?!"
"Do I look okay, Creampuff?" Calumon shrunk his ears.
"Guess not..." Beelzemon waved them off dismissively and slowly got to his feet.
"We need a plan, cause brute force ain't workin'" Angewomon had a thoughtful look, head tilting. Fast footsteps could be heard from further down the steps. The three brought their attention to the sound and were relieved to see Mana, Katsu and Shadow.
"Hey! We finally caught up to you all!" Mana cheered. Beelzemon grimaced.
"Not you two again." He shook his head as he flew towards Ladydevimon and Jeri once again. "Whatever. I have stuff ta do!"
"Like we give a damn." Katsu muttered. His face brightened when he brought his attention back to Angewomon. "You're okay!" He hurriedly got out of Shadow's hold and hugged her. "I was worried!" She smiled down at the boy.
"Off course I'm okay." She then had a more serious expression. "Katsu, Mana. I may have a plan that could take down Ladydevimon. However, I need the power of all the digimon present to help me pull it off." The siblings gave eachother a curious look.
"I don't mind givin' my power to ya. If it's the attack I'm thinking of." Angewomon nodded towards Shadow, confirming his guess.
"Right! I get it. However, we're going to need Ladydevimon to stay in place. And I have just the card for it!" Mana cheered, holding said card in the air.
"Great idea Mana!" Shadow cheered.
Angewomon nods as she begins her flight towards the pending battle. Mana brings out her digivice and gets the card ready to swipe.

Jeri was tired. Very tired. It would seem that divine digivolution takes a lot of energy. Off course it did. You can't have anything for free, even in the digital world. She floated away from Ladydevimon as Beelzemon came back. She flinched as she felt the pain from her wounds the she-devil inflicted upon her. 'It's not too bad. I can handle this.'
"Jeri!" She snapped out of her thoughts as she saw Angewomon fly towards her.
"Yes. Is everyone ok?" She asked, her eyebrows drawing together in worry. Angewomon smiled, nodding her head.
"Yes. We've come up with a plan to defeat her. However, we need yours and Beelzemon's power to make it work." Jeri's eyes widened.
"You mean...? Ok." She grinned as she realised the attack Angewomon was talking about. 'If they could defeat Myotismon with this move, then Ladydevimon should be a piece of cake! Kazu's really rubbing off on me with his digimon obsession.'
"Good. We have a card that can hold Ladydevimon still. Tell Beelzemon that and get him and yourself away from her." Jeri nodded and went cautiously towards the fighting virus digimon. Good. Ladydevimon had her back facing her, now she just needed to get Beelzemon's attention.
It didn't take much.
She noticed that he was always keeping a close eye on her, even while fighting. She pointed towards Angewomon who was preparing her attack when he gave her a confused look. He understood and gave a firm kick to Ladydevimon's stomach. He made a mad dash out of the devil's claw range.
"Heaven's Charm!" Angewomon yelled. She held both arms above her head when an oval-shaped ring began to form overhead. Various different colours began to spring from the ring and enveloped the sky and those within distance. The attack even made the clouds nearby disperse and those on the temple steps could see all the action.
"What on earth?!" Ladydevimon shrieked. She was about to move away when...
"Digi-modify! Poison Ivy activate!" Shadow held out one of his clawed hands and made ivy sprout from his palm. The ivy surrounded Ladydevimon and bounded her in place.
"You meddling children! You have no idea who you're messing with!"
"Nor do you! Now! Everyone give me your attacks!"
"Ya got it! Double Impact!"
"Fullmoon kick!" Both Beelzemon and Shadow's attacks were absorbed into Angewomon's attack.
"O-okay." Jeri took a deep breath and swung her sword from behind then outwards in an overhead arc. "E-extinction Wave!" Angewomon smiles.
"Perfect..."
"Lion Slash!" An unexpected attack joined the others which surprised everyone present. All eyes went down towards Bancholeomon who had a tired look. He still held his sword in his left hand. "I'm glad I could make it on time." Angewomon nods and looks back to Ladydevimon who was trying to break free from the vines.
The energy above her began to turn white and moved down towards her. The light formed a bow made of light, which Angewomon used to strike an arrow through the devil's chest.
"AAAggrrhh!" She screeched in pain. The arrow went straight through, showing the pointy end through her hair and wings. Data was beginning to dissipate wildly, and soon Ladydevimon had little energy and began to float down to the temple steps. All digimon and humans surrounded her, careful not to get too close.
Beelzemon stood forward, guns pointing towards her head in case she pulled a sneaky attack. "Hmph! It's over." She gritted her teeth as she looked up at him, then smirked.
"Oh? You think so? You may have won and defeated me, but by no means will I be the last of your enemies." Now, Bancholeomon stands forward.
"What do you mean? And why have you been terrorizing this village? For what purpose?" Ladydevimon was struggling to sit up further.
"Hahaha..." She chuckles darkly. "What do you mean? There will always be evil digimon. It has always been this way. And will always be. It's in our data, after all." This caught Jeri's attention.
'What does she mean?' Suddenly, Ladydevimon's data began streaming a lot more quickly. She was laughing as her lower body had completely dissipated.
"It's written in our code! We will eventually triumph!" Now only her head was left. She looked at Jeri, which surprised her. "You humans will lose! And when you do, may you all writhe in agony as the angels of death take your flesh! Hahaha!" Her final laugh echoed around them, as if they were in a cave. It was eerie, and her final words made Jeri tremble. She fell to her knees, which made Beelzemon and Calumon worry.
"Jeri?" Calumon called, flying onto her shoulder.
"What, did she mean by that?" No one else had an answer. They didn't know, and that made Jeri even more nervous. 'I'm worried, Leopardmon...' He didn't reply back. She had a feeling he didn't know how to respond.
To be continued...
Reviews
Victor John Foxfire - Hi! Thank you for reviewing! It is like spirit evolution, isn't it? But it's more like a magical girl transformation rather than an actual digimon which I find to be a cool concept. So, I wanted to use it. :D Hm, we'll see what Seraphimon has in store for her.
It's actually a coincidence that he's here. I don't plan on reviving Leomon in any physical way. Only maybe in attacks like Beelzemon used against the D-Reaper, but I think Leomon coming back would undermine Jeri's development in a way? I'd still like to see it happen in canon, but I can't see it happening tbh. Maybe a brand new partner, unless Impmon were to also be deleted then Leomon's data would be free? I don't quite know how reincarnation works in tamers. There was a brief flash in one of the episodes of digimon hatching, but I dunno.
In this continuation, Gallantmon isn't a royal knight. There are only several of them that are actually classed as Royal Knights, not including Gallantmon, which will be elaborated on later.
