Etana stands up, dressed impeccably and looking a lot fresher than she has any right to. Considering.

She smiles broadly.

"Welcome to the Tora Logan Institute for Gifted Children. The staff are each going to introduce themselves and their subject then after all the talks, feel free to go over to them and ask questions. But firstly, I feel I have to introduce you to the heart of the school. Totally Orally Regulated Automate. Now, please be so good as to introduce yourself, TORA."

And an unmistakable voice speaks and I suddenly realise what Tana, Tony, Hank Pym and Beast had been locked up doing.

"Hello. I am the Totally Orally Regulated Automate. I will be responsible for student enquiries. I am fully integrated with the whole school. A student may ask a question at any point in the school and I will answer. For ease of access and interface, there exist Query Points, where a hologram may be used as an interface as I suppose disembodied voices are a little weird."

And the image flickers to life, a 3D version of Tora, with that oddly…well, Tora look on her face.

"I am a construct based on the memories and personality of Tora Logan. This does not mean I am her. I am merely a highly artificial intelligence. I am fully self-aware, especially of the fact I am an artificial intelligence based on a dead woman. This will not impact my ability to be effective in any way. Because of the person I am based on, I will more often than not be too interested saying words until they have no meaning to have any intentions of taking over the school, world or universe. Goodbye."

The image flickers out and Etana gets up.

"Sorry about that. We did consider getting rid of some of those habits, but then it wouldn't be Tora. You'll get used to her. Or get exasperated. Or determined to shut her down. Don't worry. She should be okay. I hope."

She smiles softly.

"Without further ado, I will hand over to Vice-Principal Eloise Circen."

Eloise stands up and she smiles shyly.

"It is an immense honour to be chosen to teach at this school. Not least because it bears the name my sister took as her own. In a way, I feel that this –a chance for children from all walks of life to learn to control their abilities in a safe, secure environment without the pressure of combat training or supervillain attacks every other day is something that she would have been very proud of. As well as my duties as Vice Principal, I shall also be taking the school's French lessons. As a native speaker, I shall not teach what would be considered 'school French'. Instead I shall follow the path my sister took –practical, everyday French in sensible subjects. Students will not be taught to talk about things that you would not require. I shall be at the Modern Language stall at the back of the room after this presentation."

The blond man I now know is Leonardo Da Vinci steps forward, speaking in a soft Italian accent.

"I am Mr Leonard. I teach Art and Technological Design. I hope to inspire students to paint the truth. To understand anatomy to draw a living being. To comprehend the true meaning of the natural forces. And to listen to the person who can actually fly before trying to test your flying machine."

People come up and more than one gives a rather shaky alias, suggesting Etana may have hired more than one of her immortal, famous scientists. She keeps glancing away and then she's back up.

"I shall teach History, both Ancient and Modern. Seeing as I've been around for quite a lot of it, I will be able to give first-hand accounts of many things. History older than myself –well, I have contacts willing to teach prehistoric and early written History. Long story."

She clears her throat.

"We already have at least eighty potential students. Others are welcome, and all they are required to do is to go to one of our outreach centres, where they will be tested to ensure no potential enemies try to attack the school. This is partially the reason we have chosen such a secure location. But let me make one thing very, very clear. If anyone threatens this school, they will have me to deal with. And I know that doesn't sound like much of a threat, an old woman with only one arm. But may I remind you of something. When Utopia was attacked, we were losing. We were losing and then I wiped out the entire Shi'ar Death Corps in two blows. So think of that, before you decide to attack the school I am defending."

She smiles sweetly and walks off.
