*10:06 p.m. - Flight Red Pelican, somewhere northeast of Bering Sea...

Dark stormy clouds covered the night sky, leaving no trace of the moon's light to be seen. Lightening struck on and off throughout the night as it lit up the once-blue sphere. That very sphere now, however, transformed into a cloak of darkness. Nevertheless, it was enough to see a quick glimpse of a red and white striped airplane tirelessly fighting to stay lifted throughout the turbulent storm clouds.

Inside that very plane, was a young dark-haired woman, who sat next to the window drowning out the storm listening to soft tunes coming from her headphones. Slowly nodding her head to beat from time to time. She sat comfortably with her legs crossed and stretched out lounging into both seats joint to hers nearly dozing off.

Now, this girl was no ordinary young lady, no...she had eyes that flashed red from a pair of slits similar to that of a reptilian species. The reflection from the window confirmed this along with a soft blue hue of scales that caught the light just right as the sky flickered once more. This scaly miss pulled her black oversized hoodie further up revealing the cobra design resting on top of her head. She crinkled her nose as a long strip of black hair fell over one side of her face as she pushed her sleeves back a little grabbing her luggage bag. Just from a glance, one could see it was covered in cat pins and some of her favorite music artists. A name tag attached to one of the straps, read "Property of Lilith Loss".

Smoothing out her black and white plaid skirt while settling her bag more sturdy-like in her lap, Lilith pulled out a red ritzy-fashioned envelope and began to open it.

At that exact moment, lightning struck the sky once more and the thunder roared causing the airplane's lights to flicker for a moment. The slight turbulence knocked Lilith's headset down.

"AAAAHH!"...

Lilith blinked for a second. Almost startled, but not quite.

Annoyed, she sighed. Rolling her eyes and clicking her forked pierced tongue. The shriek from what Lilith could tell sounded like it came from the restroom.

"Chicken-shit," Lilith muttered returning to her fancy envelope.

"Hmm...Maybe I should go with the blue this time?" A young man pondered out loud to himself reading a box of body dye. "Or should I wait and use it later?"

One hand holding up the box while the other was resting under his chin lost in thought as his yellow eyes studied the instructions labeled. He suddenly let out a long yawn rubbing his free hand over his face as if that would somehow help wore off his drowsiness. He blamed most of it on the weather. Although, there was the faint music playing a couple of rolls up coming from what sounded like the left side of the airplane wasn't helping his current state of grogginess either.

Looking over he spotted a dark-haired girl sporting what looked like a cobra hoodie with a pair of headphones on, and thought, "There's where it's coming from."

He couldn't help but think that they didn't have bad taste in music. Even so, he didn't want to get caught staring so he quickly shifted his gaze back to his box of dye and decided that it was going to be the one for his big day. Sliding it back into his backpack among other things and grabbing the top of the outermost chair as leverage to hoist himself up, he suddenly remembered something.

"I wonder what happened to that guy I was sitting with?... What was his name again, Adam?...No, it was Aaron!" He thought, remembering that the timid ginger had quietly excused himself about a little over five minutes ago.

Just as he fully stood up and reached towards his pack, the lights flickered and the storm shook the plane causing him to lose his balance. The young yellow-eyed man was unceremoniously tossed back into his chair. Then there was a sudden cry of terror coming from what he could only assume was the flight's resting rooms.

"Totally meant to do that." He deadpanned.

Just a few rolls down from behind the snake girl was another young lady who was also seated on her own. Like Lilith, she was also a unique individual of her time. She was slender in stature with little to almost no skin pigment visible to the naked eye. Her lips were almost as red as blood one could say. If someone were to pay closer attention, they would have noticed her fanged smile as she nibbled at her bottom lip while her hazel gaze was buried in her reading. Occasionally, she would bob and bounce one of her black Mary-Janes while sitting with one leg crossed over the other.

From time to time, she would feel a little self-conscious due to her 'unusualness', but at the same time, wasn't sure why. There weren't that many others flying, just a handful to be honest.

She had been so immersed in reading her book that the sudden shriek caused her to start a little. Flipping back her long pale blonde locks, she readjusts her blue cloth headband hastily while cautiously peering over the roll of heads behind her seat towards the source of the noise.

"What in the world?..." She pondered nearly out loud and almost shrieked herself as a hunter-green backpack dropped right outside her seat's aisle.

A green guy across the other wing met her gaze...that's right a green guy! He blurted out loud, "What was that?!"

"The green giant?.." The Blonde humored to herself. She noticed he suddenly shot a glance down at the aisle between them and then apologized.

"Um...sorry about that! I hope I didn't startle you, miss?" He said grabbed his pack quickly up and out of the floor.

Realizing her thoughts were interrupted as he looked back at her waiting for her response, she managed to choke back, "...N-Not sure, m-maybe someone...tripped?"

And then quickly added, "I-It's no p-problem."

The fellow from across the aisle suddenly noticed that she was kinda cute and had to remind himself to keep it together.

He smiled shyly back taking in her features before saying, "Hi there, my name is Miles Garbanos, what's yours?"

"Wow...I managed to pull that one off without making a complete goof of myself." He silently mused to himself.

She did her best to calm her nerves as he then extended a hand, which she noticed was gloved towards her. For a moment, she nearly hesitated, but at the last second took it and they shook.

Feeling a little on the spot, the blonde shyly smiles tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, and replies, "I'm Orchid, Orchid Olivia Dean, but you can call me, Orchid if you like...or n-not if y-you rather..."

Not realizing it due to her ramblings, Orchid's book had slipped out of her grasp during her nervous introduction- at least not until it hit the floor with a dull thump. She was about to jump up and snatch it, but someone else beat her to the punch.

Miles could tell she was a shy girl and a little awkward, but that didn't bother him too much because he, himself too was an odd fellow. Well...he was a guy and she was actually a girl, but...well, that was beside the point!... Miles shoved his intrusive thoughts to the side while pressing on the current moment at hand. Right away he noticed her hazel eyes that were somewhat larger than your average person's and that her lips were also a shade brighter than most, which he thought became her. He also noticed her attire looked nice too, she wore a cream-colored blouse with a black knee-length pleated skirt and black tights with black Mary-Janes.

All of this he took in as she spoke, but then was pulled out of his reverie when the book suddenly found the floor in the aisle between them. Without a second thought, he instinctively reached across his seat nearly halfway on the floor to retrieve it. By the time he grabbed it and looked up to hand it back to Orchid, he realized she was standing over him, who also was in mid-flight to obtain the book.

A series of things happened all at once.

Both started to panic and apologized profusely to the other at the same time while Miles crashed sprawled out of his seat into the floor!... The moment their eyes connected, they both blushed, but not near as badly as Miles did.

"Oh, Shit!...Not now of all places!" He panicked, swallowing. His mouth felt like cotton balls as he lost control and melted...literally- into a pool of green goo!

Orchid blinks not believing what she's seeing as she takes in the scene before her. "What just...happened?!"

One moment she was speaking to this guy who seemed nice- a little awkward, but definitely interesting. Right away she noticed that his eyes were different than most, they were round and yellow with tinted scleras, and his jawline was squarish which suited his face's frame. From where he sat and from what she could tell, Miles seemed like the short and lanky type in comparison to other guys his age. His hair was so dark that Orchid suspected it to be black, he kept it at a medium length and neatly styled. Despite that, he did have some normalcy to his appearance, he wore a grey baggy hoodie, some loose jeans, and a pair of dark blue sneakers to the boot. Now, however, she was at a loss for words.

Orchid had seen some stuff in her time, but this one certainly took the cake! She was brought back to the present when something toppled out of his pack towards her feet, as drawn, Orchid squatted down to collect it as Miles started to regain his sea legs. Plucking up what looked like a box dye, Orchid humored to herself, "Curious..."

"Aww...my face," Miles groaned slowly pooling himself together to...his feet? At this point, he expected her to scream or even faint, but surprisingly enough she hadn't?!

Miles managed to sprawl over onto his side and a sitting position when he noticed Orchid examining his box of body dye.

The blonde looked back up at him and started to babble on with a concerned look, "A-Are you okay?... Nothing's broken right?... How'd, um, did you do that just now?...(handing him his box back)...I, um think this belongs to you?.."

He couldn't help but chuckle despite it all. Here he was nearly laid out in the middle of the floor in the aisle of an airplane, right smack in the middle of a thunderstorm, gooed himself here of all places and here he was laughing with a box of dye in one hand and her book in the other. He stopped after a second when he noticed that Orchid was giving a confused and almost concerned look.

"Sorry, it's just that...(chokes on air)...despite the circumstances, you have to admit this is kinda funny," He managed to breathe out. The blonde smiled back and extended her hand and he took hers shaking once more. Both were now laughing together. "Nice to meet you, Orchid. It's been a blast!"

Miles collected his fallen backpack and its contents that tried to escape under his chair while his newfound friend helped him. Once done, Orchid helped Miles back to his feet as he handed her back her book. He took note of the book's old and worn condition and spotted the title, Alice in Wonderland, and gave a small smile. It was the Disney version classic.

"Nice choice, so you're a fan of Disney?" He said suddenly happy to take the subject off his mishap just now.

"Um...yes, my older brother got it for me when I was little." She replied meekly with a slightly sad tone in her voice she mostly hid.

"That's pretty cool of him!" Miles said, though not catching her tone as he goes on, "He sounds like a really swell guy."

"Yeah, he was-," Orchid began a small smile to herself.

However, their conversation was suddenly brought to a halt. Just down the aisle way of the plane, the restroom door busted open, and out popped a very startled-looking passenger who was wailing hysterically like his hair was on fire.

One of them, at least one recognized him.

"Dude!" Miles called out to him. "There you are!"

It was the fidgeting ginger who was sitting next to him earlier, he knew he'd spot that hair a mile away. Miles had just started to wonder if the poor guy fell in or if he needed to call a coastal guard to have him reeled back in. By then, the frightened fellow had nearly rammed into Miles still in hysterics who in turn, grabbed the screaming banshee by the shoulders to keep him balanced from crashing into the aisle.

About 20 minutes prior...

"I-Its just a s-storm...i-it's just a storm," said a young man trying to calm himself. "You can do this, you got this, AJ!"

He had already spent about a good solid fifteen minutes rocking away in the middle of the floor in a fetal position. In the small-spaced quarters of what was supposed to be a restroom, merely containing just a modest working sink with a medium-sized, round mirror and standard functional commode. It was clean enough, if not average. Even so, the lightning wasn't so bad or so he tried to convince himself, at least not compared to the thunder's roar. This was, however, AJ's first time flying on a plane too, so that only added fuel to the fire's demons. Despite that, he had made himself a promise when he got on this plane and that was he would overcome his fears enough to become a stronger person or in his case...a stronger ghost.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, AJ was in fact a ghost, but not just any ghost, no, he came from a family of long-line ghost hunters and/or paranormal investigators, if you will. So, despite his cowardly demeanor, AJ was certainly not your average airplane passenger.

As the storm choose to simmer down a notch or two, AJ decided to use this moment to regain his dignity and overcome his inner turmoil. He grabbed the sink on both ends and slowly pulled himself back up. He was a little wobbly at first, but in seconds he managed. The lights were a little dim-litted (Say that real fast! lol) in his small space, but light enough to see his reflection. AJ was pale white and covered in freckles from head to toe with unkempt bright red-ginger hair and a matching goatee beard. His eyes were round and dark brown, they were framed by his square-shaped head and pointy chin. At his full height, AJ was a large, but chubby fellow, he like to humor himself as almost being the same build as Sam from ROTI, but slightly slimmer. Feeling a bit more confident, AJ challenged his reflection back in the mirror with vigor.

"That's right! I can do this or my name is not Aaron Johnson Rogers JR!" He half-heartedly declared with a raised fist of victory. But then at that same moment, the storm struck the plane once more and he coward screaming nearly tripping over his own two feet."GAH!...No, I'm not!... I'm so fucked!"

He panicked while regaining his hold of the sink and footing as he slowly glanced back up at the mirror once more with unease. Just as his eyes meet his reflection, the storm had taken hold of the airplane- thunder rolling and lightning striking causing lights to dance out of control. Sadly, that was all it took.

AJ shamelessly screamed like a little girl.

He ran so fast out of that public resting area, you'd think the devil, himself was on his tail. By then, that was when he ran into the guy he was sitting next to from before. Miles was his name AJ remembered, they had only exchanged a few words of greetings and pleasantries.

"Calm down, bro!... Take a breath, "Miles tried saying over his shared-seating mate. "Where's the fire?"

Orchid peered curiously over Miles to see who the other passenger was that was making such a fuss. Sure enough, she took note of his pale complexion which was nearly transparent. His orange coveralls were lined with white stripes and a white tank top along with his similar colored shoes, but a red stripe over the middle of them was the first to stand out to her.

"You're acting like you saw a ghost or something...get a hold of yourself, man!" Miles offhandedly stated which allowed AJ to calm down long enough to give him a look for that remark.

"Dude, I am a ghost," AJ deadpanned, reminding him.

Miles blinks for a second before it hits him that AJ had briefly explained it to him from earlier in the flight, then tries to laugh it off nervously. "Oh, yeah, that's right!... I forgot. Sorry, buddy."

"Hehe...hehe..."

Both stopped long enough to see Orchid covering her mouth trying to contain her giggles. They both started to realize how silly they must have looked, plus it had been a long night. Miles silently swore to himself while AJ flushed which gave him the most color he had in a while rubbing the back of his head in slight embarrassment.

AJ laughed nervously back.

"Are you guys done?"

Everyone grew quiet when someone new suddenly spoke up. Miles instantly recognized her as the snake girl from earlier. From what he could tell, she did vibe him as the moody type.

Her eyes were half-hidden under her snake hood, but even without them on, Orchid could tell right away she was good at hiding her emotions in front of others, it was something even Orchid would do from time to time. It was a self-protecting mechanism she knew all too well herself. "She must have lived a tough life too..."

Lilith rolled her eyes once more, she was not amused by their antics. Even with her headset on, she could still hear their annoying shrieks and laughter over her tunes. Any other time, she would have not let it bother her, but she had a lot under her belt to deal with, not to mention the storm didn't help her nerves either, and combined with their loud voices- it was too much. She had a big day tomorrow coming and she needed all her sanity intact to deal with it. Before they could comment, Lilith remarked more to the air than to anyone in general, "Whatever."

"Might leave that one alone." Miles quietly warned. The other two nodded as AJ pulled out a small bag of goldfish crackers and offered some to the group while properly introducing himself to Orchid.

From there on, the trio got on well and decided to sit next to one another for the rest of the flight.

Better late than never, right? I apologize for the delay, I'm a slow, but steady writer.

So, how do you like it thus far? Let me know...

I found out that splitting the cast up into groups of four (including interns too) makes this a lot easier for me to write and focus a little more on letting the characters' personalities out more. It gives me a little head start on getting in their shoes and seeing who/what their like from their point of view. I really had fun with these first four characters and am looking forward to starting the next group! Wish me luck! :)
