Chapter 3 – Reflecting

As Lee and Amanda sat in their seats waiting for the plane to depart the runway, Amanda grew impatient on finding out where she and Lee were headed for their honeymoon. Being very inquisitive, Amanda looked around for clues or signs to where the plane was headed but saw none.

Lee noticed how Amanda was looking for a clue on where they were headed. Being his partner in marriage and work, he knew her all too well. He grinned and chuckled as he saw how adorable she was looking for anything to tell her where the plane was destined for.

"And what are you laughing at, mister?" Amanda gave him a slight smirk and a side stare.

"Uh…just laughing at one of the passengers. He spilt something on his shirt."

"Uh huh…you were laughing at me, weren't you?"

"Ha, Amanda. I love you very much, you know that, right?"

"You aren't getting out of this one, Lee." Amanda leaned in and gave Lee a quick kiss on his lips.

Breaking their kiss, Amanda overheard the chime of the speaker above them.

"Attention passengers. This is your captain speaking. Please sit back and enjoy your flight. We will be landing in Atlanta in just a few hours."

Amanda's eyebrow shot up as she looked over at Lee.

"So, one clue is that we are going through Atlanta, Georgia. Hmm… Well, it is an international airport. So, we could be headed anywhere on our honeymoon."

Lee looked over at Amanda and whispered. "I'm not spilling any details. You will just have to sit back and wait, patiently."

Accentuating the word patiently, Amanda giggled and smiled back at Lee. How did she get so lucky to meet Lee at that train station years ago?

Lee reached out and held Amanda close as the sound of the plane engines could be heard warming up outside. Before long, their flight departed, and they were headed to their first layover in Atlanta, Georgia.

Three hours later, Lee and Amanda were sitting in the airport waiting for their layover to end so they could board the next plane. Amanda was still in the dark where they were headed. Lee had chosen a central location in the airport for them to sit in order not to give away the location until the last minute when they were boarding.

An announcement was made above them from the speaker in the airport.

"Flight 292 now boarding at gate 11 to St. Lucia. Again, flight 292 now boarding at gate 11 to St. Lucia."

Amanda's eyes shot over to Lee's face and she looked like a kid in a candy shop when Lee lost it and beamed largely at her. He stood up and held his hand out as he grabbed for his carry on beside him.

"We best get going, Mrs. Stetson. We don't want to be late boarding our flight."

"St. Lucia? We're going to St. Lucia?"

Amanda's eyes were large, and she was lost in thought for a few minutes at the insight that they were headed somewhere warm and sunny for their honeymoon for the next two weeks.

Lee led her over to gate 11 and they boarded the flight and took their seats. Before long, the roar of the engines could be heard and off they flew to St. Lucia.

The flight had only taken about five hours and they landed in St. Lucia right as evening time was beginning. The sun was going down and the sunset was stunning as they made their way outside the airport to their shuttle waiting nearby.

"Driver, we will be heading to the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa and Beach Resort, Gros-Islet, St. Lucia."

The driver began driving as Lee and Amanda took in the gorgeous scenery that surrounded them outside the car windows. Since the drive would take about 15-20 minutes, they both appreciated the beautiful sunset and scenery before them.

Upon reaching the resort, Lee helped Amanda with their luggage as they checked in. As they checked in, they strode into an enormous three-story lobby that opened to grand ocean views.

Amanda was at a loss for words as Lee checked them in and she gazed in awe of the magnificent ocean views and white sand beaches that laid before them.

"Thank you, sir. I hope you and your wife enjoy your stay with us. You will be in one of our over-the-water honeymoon butler bungalows."

The man gave Lee the electronic key and Lee made his way over to Amanda. She had grabbed a resort map nearby and was looking at everything at the resort.

As they gradually walked away from the check-in desk, Amanda studied the map.

"Where did the man say we were staying? Which room?"

Amanda held up the map to Lee and he indicated their room.

"Lee, that's out in the ocean!"

Amanda was again at a loss for words as Lee smirked and gave her a quick kiss. His voice was low as he spoke.

"I know, Amanda. That's the whole point. It'll be nice to have privacy and have you all to myself for the next two weeks."

Amanda slowly grinned and was relieved it was now nighttime outside so that Lee couldn't see her cheeks become red at his statement.

Lee and Amanda resumed walking over to their bungalow and walked up the wooden planks out in the ocean. The views were spectacular as they continued walking. They both soon realized they were at the very last bungalow at the end of the wooden planks, much to Lee's satisfaction.

Lee unlocked the door and grabbed their luggage, leaving Amanda outside for a few seconds. She began walking in the door, but Lee rushed out the door, picked her up and carried her inside.

"Lee! What… Put me down!"

Lee put her down inside and closed the door behind them. He swiftly came up behind Amanda, wrapping his arms around her waist and began kissing her neck.

It wasn't that Amanda had never been with a man, she had. She had been married to Joe and had two children. But one thing she observed about Lee quickly was that he was nothing like Joe. Joe never conveyed his true feelings for her and was always so private towards her. Lee… Lee was so withdrawn when they first met and made it known he wasn't attracted to Amanda. But as the years went by, she perceived that their feelings for each other were truly happening and before they knew it, they were in love with each other. Being with a man on the other hand, she realized she hadn't been with anyone for years. She and Joe had been separated for about four years. Without realizing it, her nervousness began to get to her, and she broke from Lee's kisses.

"Lee, can we be honest with each other?" Amanda took a deep breath.

"Sure. What is it?"

"Well, I haven't…you know…for a while. Uh…I haven't…done anything… since I was married to Joe."

Lee let out a small chuckle and beamed at Amanda, capturing her hands in his.

"Amanda…don't worry about that. I love you and only you. What you and Joe had is in the past and tonight, we are husband and wife. Just trust me, okay?"

Amanda smiled and gave Lee a kiss, then made her way into the small kitchen and looked around their bungalow that they would be staying in for the next two weeks.

"This place is so marvelous."

Lee placed their luggage in their bedroom and noticed something on the floor.

"Amanda! Come check this out!"

Amanda made her way into their bedroom and looked at what Lee was looking at on the floor.

"What is that? That's so cool!"

On the floor was a glass panel that looked directly into the ocean below their bungalow. It had a light on it so that you were able to see what swam by and what was in the ocean at the time.

Amanda made her way outside as she listened to the ocean waves in the distance. She could feel the salt air on her skin as she sat down on one of the lounge chairs on the wooden deck and gazed off into the distance. Her mind took her back to Lee and her meeting for the first time at the train station. He was in danger and being pursued and he had to pass the package off to her or face the two guys chasing him. She was cautious to accept something from an unknown person, much less a man she didn't know. Something in his eyes attracted her towards him and she accepted the package. As the days went on, he attempted numerous times to contact her to obtain the package. She didn't want nothing to do with the package or the man. She snickered when she remembered how they broke into the post office to search for the package…how they were chased down the parking garage and into the street below…how she flew a helicopter for the first time and saved Lee. Now…a new challenge was before her. Being Mrs. Stetson and Mrs. Scarecrow. How was she so fortunate to have Lee into her life? Her new life as husband and wife? If they'd never met at the train station, she wouldn't be here with him. If she hadn't taken Dean to the train station that morning to see him off, in her pajamas, they never would have met. None of this agency life would have ever happened. She would've missed out on the best thing to happen to her since her two sons.

Lee walked up behind her and took her in his arms, breaking her thoughts and bringing her back to her environment. She suddenly looked at Lee and her eyes were filled with tears.

Lee looked at her with concern. "Amanda…what's wrong?"

Amanda grinned quickly and shook her head. "Trust me, these are happy tears. I was just reflecting on how blessed I am to have met you at that train station and become involved with the agency. If I hadn't met you that day, we never would've met, and we wouldn't be here now and be married."

Lee held Amanda in his arms and held her tight. She was right. He had momentarily reflected on how he and Amanda connected at the train station years ago. He had quickly realized that if he hadn't had gave her that package, none of this would have happened. They wouldn't have met, and he would've missed out on the greatest thing that's ever happened to him.

Lee spun Amanda to look at him and dried her tears from her cheeks.

"I love you, Amanda Stetson. I wouldn't trade this life with you for nothing. I'm so grateful that we met on that day at the train station."

At Lee's statement, Amanda teared up again and embraced Lee with all her might.

"I love you too, Lee. Gosh, how did I get so lucky?"

Lee held her in his arms and pulled her in for a loving kiss.

Within moments, the desire between them was evident and the moment was right.

Lee quit kissing her and gazed at her with such longing, Amanda blushed. His voice was low as he whispered, "Come on, Mrs. Stetson."

He took her hand and guided her to their bedroom, shutting the door behind them. They both realized this was going to be the best next two weeks.
