Dear Mother,

I am writing this to inform you that I have finally summoned a creature, though it is a human being. The man that was summoned by Bimir's Will is named Jerhelm and can use magic! Though he was hostile when first summoned, he seemed calm around the Headmaster and told us some of his titles.

I must admit that one is quite shocking, but I can't say the original name as it is in another language I have never heard of. He said that it means 'Mage Hunter Child' as he had hostile mages after him for magics of which he didn't say other than they were lost and he found them making the enemy want to have them or destroy them. Apparently, he is a Archmage, from what I gathered he is like the Headmaster in position unlike what we call them here.

I do bear bad news, however. He refused my contract to become my familiar thus ending my time in classes here at the Academy. He did, however, say that he will teach me in the meantime. What it is, I don't know as he uses wandless magic, but he is no Elf.

Your Dearest Daughter,

Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière

As the sun began to rise, I got up and already had everything ready for later. First, I need to find the library to study the form of magic here. I can tell the mages here rely on wands for focus and I can deduce that if one suddenly lost theirs mid-battle, they can't cast magic. A major weak point, but I have a feeling that it's so far engrained into the society that no one but maybe Siesta and her family can cast without one.

Speaking of the maid, I asked for the location of the library, and she led me there. I asked for some books regarding the system of magic and got looks from those that come here this early in the morning. I get my books and sit at a table to start reading. I notice that the spells here correspond with what I feel on the magic here. Stiff and ridged, costing more the more powerful the spell. Though requiring three words to cast the spell. Reading on I find the classifications of the power. Royal families can combine their magic to make the spell stronger, but it doesn't offset the cost.

If two members use two triangle class spells to make the hexagon class it still cost the two as if they were casting a triangle class each. Elven magic is barely listed as the whole 'elves are the greatest evil' thing, the little that is listed states that they are more or less flee on sight. I notice however that there is a person observing me as I read. Small and with blue hair of all things.

I look over at her and she quickly goes back to her book. I get a feel that she has seen some things and is quiet as a result, however she is powerful as well. Other than the potential that I feel from the girl that summoned me here, she is the strongest. I observe the sun's location and deduce that I have some time to get things ready.

Getting up I feel the blue one's eyes on me as I walk out of the library. I ask Siesta if she can get some things like empty barrels, old straw, and some timber that can't be used for reasons and bring them to the courtyard. I grab my armor and arms on my way to the courtyard. I still feel the eyes on me as I walk, even hearing the whispers of the students on the way.

I stop in the walkway. "What do you want blue one?" The other students quiet down as she approaches.

"Interesting." Is all she says in a quiet tone. Must be one of few words. "Tabitha. Not blue one." Tabitha, huh? At least I have a name for this one now. "Where are you from?"

I have a little time, so I humor her. "I come from a land that is beautiful as it is harsh. But it is not on this plane of existence, as my moons are not vibrant unless an outer force does it for fun." I think of Sheogorath first, he's mad enough to do so.

"Other worlds?" I nod to her question. "Dragons?" I ask if she meant if I have dragons where I from and I get a nod.

"Yes, though you might call them wyverns here as they only have the hind legs." I scarcely read that the dragons here are quadrupe. Came across it when reading about the magic and I look outside. "Though I don't have time for any more questions." The students that have gathered give me a look. "I need to get to the courtyard that I was summoned at, Louise is waiting there." Snickers break out. "What's funny?"

"Nothing, just what is The Zero still here for? She should have left when she failed to contract you as her familiar." Said a girl with bright red hair.

"Kirche." Tabitha starts but I hold up my hand.

"Ignoring the slavery part." I get some looks. "I asked the headmaster if she could stay here for a time." Judging from this crowd, the pink one isn't well liked at all. Better not tell them what happened yesterday. "I offered to teach her, however as compromise." Snickers turn to laughter. I am getting annoyed, and I think Tabitha can see it.

"What can you teach Louise the Zero? All her attempts at magic always end up exploding, just last week she destroyed Professor Chevreuse's classroom trying to transmute some pebbles into brass." That helps me out, but my wit is on its end.

"Enough!" Gasps are heard but I don't care. "You do realize that I heard everything yesterday on my way to the headmaster's office? You all claim to be nobles, yet you do not act like one. Who and what I teach is for me to think of. If Louise doesn't work out, then she will return to her home. However, if she shows acceptable levels of talent? She will stay." I get offended looks from those in the crowd aside from Tabitha and they calm down from my lecture. As I turn around to leave, someone spoke up.

"Can you back up your words? I seen lightning in your hands yesterday, that might have been a fluke!" One wielding a rose of all things, is that his wand? "And even if you can use magic, why use a commoner's musket?" I realize he didn't say anything about my sword. Got to read about that.

I sigh and start walking to the courtyard and answer the rose wielder. "I can pull out fire, ice, and lightning as easy as breathing, don't test me on that. The rifle is for those fair away and magic resistant." Suddenly a golem of some metal raises in front of me just outside of the courtyard entrance.

"I will test you all I want. I am a noble and from the looks of it you are a fallen noble. Duel me right now and I may let you go." I growl at his tone. I think I get some of these 'nobles', they have been raised in the fact that nobody lower than them will talk back. I start chuckling then started laughing (Sheogorath would be proud). Blasting the metal golem with lightning, I yell at the boy to come along.

Louise sees me and the crowd following. "What's going on?" I simply tell her I am dueling the rose wielder. "You can't! Duels are not permitted for students."

"I am not a student. Just like how I will not bow to no one, not even to the Crown because I am not a resident of their kingdom." I get gasps from the crowd. I look to the rose wielder then to Louise. "He questioned my ability to use magic then called me this 'fallen noble'. I will answer his call to a duel then start what I wanted to do beforehand." I look back to the rose wielder. "What is your name, boy?"

He bristles at that. "My name is Guiche de Gramont, runic name The Brass." Brass, that is what his golem was made of then. I use some internal magicka to raise my voice.

"Very well, Guiche. My name is Jerhelm." I hear some laughing at my lack of family name. "My titles is Kro ah Kiir, Archmage, and others I don't want to waste breath on." I get looks from that. I pull out my Dragonbone sword and leave Spellbreaker and my rifle on my back, pointing my sword at him. "Is there conditions to this or is this just for honor?"

"Just honor, because there is nothing you have that I would want." I growl at that. He jumps back from the sound. "I will not fight you, but my beautiful golems will." He flicks his rose and some petals fall off forming five golems all wielding lances and shields. The arrogance this boy has is something I wouldn't allow at the Collage.

Something that caught many mages back home off guard is the fact that I can cast with my sword still in hand as it's considered a lost art, somehow. I prepare something that will cause word of me to spread like dwarven fire, yet these mages need to know who they are dealing with. Envisioning the courtyard and pulling the spell back a few feet. I cast my nullification field on the whole courtyard, focusing on not severing the bonds the students have with their beasts, and the golems collapse like a puppet with its strings cut. The boy's face is red in embarrassment.

"Alright then, cur. I can keep casting." No, you can't, and he soon realizes it as soon as he tries to cast again. The rose petals hit the ground and no golem rises. He looks from the petals to me. "What did you do?!"

"I hunt rouge mages, boy. What better way to do so than to nullify any type of casting? This entire field is covered in my spell so no one can cast while they are here." The students start to panic from my statement, whether the start or the nullifying part I don't care. Some tried to cast something and it just doesn't work. Louise tries something and the students panic but soon realize that she can't do anything either. I look back to the boy. "Do you yield, boy? Because I can keep this up all day." I could keep this up all week if I wanted to, maybe longer with my Magicka pools.

"I- I yield." Guiche says, defeated. It seems he doesn't have a physical weapon on him, another strike against him.

"Then leave, all of you." The crowd disperses except a couple other than Louise. Tabitha and the red haired one. I drop the field and turn to the two that stayed. "What is it you two want? I need to start with this one." I point to Louise.

"Magic nullification? Teach?" Tabitha asked. I sigh and think about it.

"I can teach a little theory at first to see how it goes, but you will have to ask the headmaster. As for the spell? It's not like I don't trust you, I don't know you except your name. So I don't know if you can learn it, even if you can I don't it spreading to others as it is technically a multi-classed spell."

"Multi-classed?" I sigh at her answer. I get she is curious, but I need to teach Louise.

"Go ask the headmaster if you want to learn anymore. I need to start with Louise now." The red haired one frowns at that. I look at her. "What is it?"

"What I want to know is how you will go with this. I can understand theory but what will happen after that?"

"Same answer as Tabitha, talk to the headmaster. Now go." The red haired one looks offended, but Tabitha pulls her with her, no doubt to the headmaster. I then turn to Louise. She has a shocked look to her. I am not her slave, but I will treat her right as she is my student for now.

She then looks determined. "What will we start with?" A look of sadness overtakes her. "I know all the theory for the year as I couldn't cast spells, even cantrips explode."

I shake my head. "I will go through my own theory if needed and mostly practical on how you use your magic, starting with feeling your magical core and how it flows through your body. Now sit down." She does that. "Close your eyes, slow your breathing, and focus inward to the center of your chest. Try to describe the feeling that comes from that." Her eyebrows furrow inward after a little bit, as if trying to get a feel for it. She struggles at first but finally makes good progress to do as I asked.

"I feel… nothing? What is this?" She questioned herself. I am stumped as well. Nothing, as if empty? I read something in the history of magic for this world. Five elements if I recall. I see her try to get a feeling and still comes up confused. Then it hits me.

"Void…" Of course, she has the least recorded element in their history. She looks to me and she looks fearful. "Something on your mind, Louise?"

"It can't be Void, it just can't." I raise an eyebrow at her, as if to say 'go on'. "The Church will brand me a heretic for that." I see. Claiming to have the same powers as their god is like me saying that I am the Tenth Divine to the Thalmor.

"I'll talk with the headmaster if I have time tomorrow. For now, let's see what is the best way to teach now I have your element. Normally I would teach someone a spray type of spell for their element but I have no idea how it will work with you."

"Spray type?" I quickly explain to her that it's easier to focus to your hands if you do it that way as most of my spells are fired from there and it gives you the feeling of how to channel the power in ways later on.

"But I wouldn't try it with something as vague as the Void. No telling what will happen. But I will try this." I cast a small nullification spell, but have it focus on any magic that leaves the body. "Focus on your core and try to cast the lowest spell you have. I want to see something. The field is to stop any explosions that try to go off." She go back to meditating on her core, pulling her wand out, and tries something.

"Ansur Rel An." I hear her whisper and I feel the field stop her spell. She tries again but the same results come again. After a while she is panting and sweating from trying repeatedly with something. I believe she is getting a feel on how her core reacts to casting spells. I asked Siesta, who showed up shortly after Louise started meditating, to get some water.

"What was you trying to cast?" I asked after Louise drinks some of the water.

"Silence. I tried to silence a bird near here and it didn't work. It would have exploded if it wasn't for your spell." Louise said after calming down. Silence, huh? It looks like all her spells start from her hand or wand and quickly go to her target. My field stopped it just as it left her wand if it wanted to explode. I walk over to the things Siesta brought over when she first arrived during the first part. I set up a dummy and put a bucket nearby.

"I'm about to drop the field to test something, what I want you to do is slowly imagine a ball about the size of your palm and hold it slightly above your wand. If you feel something start to slip, stop immediately. I do not know what will happen, but I can cast the field if it starts to go off wrong." She nods and closes her eyes. If this works then it will be similar to a firebolt. I shouldn't be jumping in the difficulty but I don't want to try a spray spell that may or may not injure Louise or myself.

She starts sweating seconds into trying to cast this ball. It might be either energy intensive or she is low on her 'willpower'. She stops and tries again but fails. Panting, she turns to me.

"I'm low on Willpower and this seems to suck more out than any spell I know. I can try again in the morning…" She trails off looking at the gate to the school. I look as well. Seems Louise's letter to the Crown got there faster than she or I thought because there is a carriage with Unicorns of all things pulling it. "Princess…" Louise says. That means her mother may soon arrive as well if she went ahead of her family. I have everything I need just in case.

Seems like some letters are getting to where they are going faster in some cases somehow. I will have the big duel either in the next chapter or the one after that (this might be the case) as it was close to 3 p.m. essentially when the Princess showed up. I remember that the day after the summoning was the Day of the Void, so all the students didn't have any classes.

The incident with Guiche in the cafeteria might be talked about but ultimately not focused on. Derflinger will be acquired soon but things are coming to a head at the academy.

As to why Louise stopped being hostile to Jerhelm? Her thought process involves trying to stop with the explosions as she is essentially fed up with her explosions (case in point as he was her first successful spell cast, so when he denied her she blew up) and after seeing the "duel" with Guiche, she knows he has the power to help her as none of the staff tried to help her. And Jerhelm stood up for her, so she doesn't want to lose someone who could help her and defended her.

Something I will have to come up with is how the Era changed if needed. Normally the Era changes with either a big, worldwide event or a new dynasty with the Crown in Cyrodill. It's mostly the latter but the Fourth Era began after the Oblivion Crisis, and both happened.

On another note. Weapon-wise, Jerhelm holds one sword as he left his anti-mage sword in his house, Spellbreaker, and the rifle.

Chapters will either start or end with a memo of sorts or a journal entry from Jerhelm.

Replies to reviews –

vmage2 - Thank you. I have plans as I said on last two.

Dontus -not Donut- Powerus – The rifle will get fleshed out more soon in the story. But to say some things about it, it is a rifle based on the Martini-Henry rifle with its action. I do agree that it could use a blade, but it was made for long range engagements for those with magic resistance and out of reach (like an unenchanted bow). The ammo he makes himself as he is a talented smith and knows how to make something similar to black powder as he was experimenting with things. Other than that, I'll describe the rifle later on in the future chapters. Enchantments would be great, but I didn't think of any when I thought it up. Also it's on a sling-like system. As for more info, it'll come later.

The Commissar 13 – I do agree that these crossovers seem to die in one way or another, but there are some good reads from what I have read so far and that's what got me to write this. If I do drop off the map though, either I'm too focused on work as I work the graveyard shift (may change due to events at work so that may cause me to drop off for a short time) as I mentioned in last chapter's A/N, focused on games, or I've got writer's block.

Archangel Xireon Chaos God – Thanks, I got a few things plotted out so it should stay interesting.

Fyr RedNight – Thanks as well, as listed above I got some things thought out to do so.
