Tiny author note: Wally and Artemis do not know that the other are heroes; Wally took over for Barry as The Flash, and Artemis took over for Oliver as Green Arrow. I'm glad you guys are loving the story and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back in the swing of things, but I hope to continue this and update more frequently :)

"Wally?" He heard the faint pounding of sneakers against the pavement. "WALLY?!" The footsteps were getting closer now and finally Wally lifted his head from where it had slumped to his shoulder.

"Artemis?" It came out in a choked whisper. She was a few feet away now and had stopped dead in her tracks.

"Wally?" She ran those last few feet and dropped to her knees cradling his head in her hands. "Oh Wally, what happened to you?" Her hand stroked the red hair that had fallen across his forehead.

"Stabbed, it's not that bad."

"Not that bad? Wally you are slumped down in the middle of a fucking alley! And who just stabs people?! THIS ISN'T GOTHAM!" She lifted the hem of his shirt to check out the wound and stifled her gasp; the blood had slowed but it was still seeping out the stitched gash in his abdomen. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and quickly dialed 911 while she applied pressure to the wound.

"Hi, my friend needs help he was-" Wally grabbed the phone out her hand and hung up. Artemis stared at him in disbelief, then looked down at the phone in his hand.

"Call Dick."

"Wally, you need a hospital I'm not going to call your stupid friend." He grabbed her hand and stared right in her stormy eyes.

"I can't explain right now Artemis but you just have to do what I ask." She stared at him for another moment then gave him a terse nod. "He's number two in my phone, it's around her somewhere." Artemis nodded again then groped along the pavement till her hand met smooth metal. She unlocked the screen and opened the dial pad on the screen and pressed the red little 2. He picked up after one ring.

"Wally I dropped you off forty minutes ago, there is no way you've gotten in some kind of trouble."

"Dick."

"Artemis? Why are you calling me on Wally's phone?"

"Something happened, I'm not really sure but… he's bleeding really badly and he won't let me call an ambulance. I barely know him, I can't let him die!" Tears were streaming down her face now unbeknownst to her, as Dick sat silently on the other end.

"Artemis I'm on my way, where are you two?" Dick stood from his desk and grabbed his shoes from the floor and his keys off his desk and ran down manors main stairs.

"Fourth and Sullivan but shouldn't I be calling an ambulance?"

"I'll be there in five minutes Artemis, you can't call 911. Promise me."

"Dick," she whispered hoarsely into the phone. On the other end Dick was already in his car sitting in the driveway, his head resting on the steering wheel.

"Please. Trust me Artemis." The line went silent for a brief moment between them.

"Just hurry."She hung up and checked his wound again; the blood was slowing but so was Wally's breathing.

"Artemis?"

"I'm right here Wally, Dicks on his way, everything's going to be alright." He gave a slow nod and closed his eyes. "No no no no no Wally, you need to keep your eyes open." She stroked his cheek softly with her hand till he opened his eyes again.

"I'm sorry Arty," she let out a small laugh.

"Arty huh? That's a real clever nickname there."

"I try." She heard footsteps in the distance but kept her eyes trained on his face. "Something's wrong Arty."

"What do you mean Wally?" His eyes slipped closed again. "Wally come on," his eyes remained closed, "what's wrong Wally? WALLY!"

The footsteps had stopped right behind her and finally she turned towards them. It was a lanky blonde gentleman with a shocked expression on his face. His legs shook as he knelt beside her and reached out towards Wally.

"Who are you?" Silence settled between them as he checked the boy's wounds and grimaced at the sight of all the blood.

"Barry," he managed to choke out. "I'm his uncle; Dick called me from his car. I need to get him out of here."

"Are you going to take him to the doctor?" She asked wringing her hands in her lap. Barry didn't answer, only tucked an arm under Wally's knees and behind his neck and lifted him off the cold ground. He started back down the alley towards the silent street; not a single car had passed since Artemis had gotten there. "Barry!" Artemis stood quickly and followed after him. "Where are you taking him?!"

"Artemis." A gruff voice came from the top of the fire escape. She looked up quickly but continued to follow after the blonde man.

"Where are you taking him?!"

"Artemis, stand down," the gruff voice called again.

"NO!" She roared grabbing Barry's shoulder and turning him around to face her. "Tell me where you're taking him!"

"Green Arrow. Stand. Down." That made her stop in her tracks and drop her hand. Barry took that as his chance to leave and walked briskly down the street till he rounded a corner and was out of site. Dick dropped from the roof behind her and turned her to face him. Tears were staining her tanned face and dropping to her shirt.

"Nightwing? What the fuck are you doing here?"

"You weren't answering your communicator."

"Bullshit. What's going on here?"

"If you answered your comm earlier you would already know." She gave him a pointed look and he explained. "There was a store robbery earlier, a couple of punk kids with combat knives, and that guy ran in there and saved everyone."

"That doesn't explain why no one will let me call 911."

"I can't answer that, but just know that he will be alright. I'll personally make sure of it." He turned around and headed back towards the shadows.

"One more thing," Dick spun as she charged herself at him and tackled him to the ground. She punched him square in the jaw before grabbing his arms and pinning them above his head. "If you blew my cover with those two I'll murder you myself, and Daddy-Bats will never find your body. Got it?" The twenty year old nodded under her and she sprung to her feet before spinning and walking back towards her bike; leaving Dick on his back on the ground.
