Promise to Reunite by Crossing River
Takashi smacked away three more zombies down while running toward the staircase where the long arm zombies are, and Saeko jumps in right beside jump when she used one zombie as a platform to catch up to him.
"Saeko, what are you doing?" Takashi asked surprise.
"I'm coming with you, of course. Not like I can let you have all the fun." Saeko answered with a smile, and that she truly doesn't want anything to happen to him.
"Anyway, you got a plan for those new players up there?" Saeko asked, pointing her wooden sword at the long arm zombies.
"I don't really have a plan yet, but I do know that I'm going to kick them undead ass!" Takashi glared at the long arm zombies.
"Glad to hear it!" Saeko agreed on that kind of plan.
Takashi and Saeko started smacking down and killing some zombies along the way, but they both know that there are still plenty of zombies around for the others, they need a way to get them away from the others.
"Saeko! Start hitting things! We need to create as much noise as possible to get them away from the others!" Takashi ordered as he start slam his gun at a wall.
"You got it!" Saeko nodded as she understood the plan.
The two started creating some loud sounds to get the zombies' attention away from the others, and it works for some of them, but the rest are still going.
However, Takashi doesn't need to worry about the rest not paying attention to the sounds he and Saeko make because the others like his mom and other girlfriends are strong fighters to fend off the zombies with the guns and super strength some have.
"It looks like we might clear out the zombies from this area." Saeko believed.
"Good, just as long as nothing else happens then everything should be okay." Takashi smiled.
But as if the universe wants to prove him wrong, over a dozen zombies suddenly burst out of the building and those zombies were not the normal kinds because these ones are mutant zombies. About seven of them being zombie dogs, nine of them the long finger blades, and five of them are the long-arm zombies.
"Oh shit, you gotta be kidding me?!" Takashi gasped.
"Heads up! More zombies coming!" Rei said as she starts shooting.
"Don't let them come near us!" Yuko said as she charges at them.
"Come on, we need to get up there and" Takashi's sentence was cut off when one long-arm zombie whips its left arm down almost hitting his head, but he was able to react in time to dodge the attack.
"Damn it!" Takashi angered as he dashes up the stairs toward the long-arm zombies with Saeko right behind him.
Two of the long-arm zombies groans go on attacking Takashi with their long and wavey arms to strike him down, but Takashi is able to parry away the arms and get in close enough to fire one bullet at one head in a point-blank range.
Next, Saeko hops on his back and jump over to strike her wooden sword down at the other long-arm zombie causing it to fall from the balcony of the staircase and landed hard on its head.
"Okay, that should do it." Saeko believed.
"Yeah, but not from the ones down there!" Takashi pointed down at the remaining mutant zombies still attacking their group.
"Hey, you fuckers! Come over here!" Takashi smacked his gun on a light pole to make a loud sound.
The others are doing their best to hold off the zombies and doing well, but some of them are getting too close to the car such as two zombie dogs got very close to the car and try to force their way in which scares Alice.
"Alice!" Goryu feared for her daughter's safety.
But suddenly some people dress in black firefighter armor suits showed up bringing in a ladder and three of those firefighters aimed their strong air guns to blast away some of the zombies near the group knocking them down.
"Hurry! Get them out of there!" A woman commanded the firefighters.
"Holy shit, did we just get rescued?" Shizuka asked shock.
"I believe we did!" Kyoka shocked as well, but glad to see other people coming to rescue them.
"Everyone, get up to that ladder and regroup to those firefighters!" Yuko ordered.
"But what about Takashi and Saeko? We can't just leave them." Rei asked worry.
"Don't worry, they'll come to us since there aren't that many zombies left." Yuko pointed at the battlefield.
Once the rest of the group got on the other side of the wired wall, they are relief to finally get some downtime from all that zombie fighting, now they just need to wait for Takashi and Saeko to come over here and they can be on their way.
"Thank you so much for saving us like that, glad to know there are still some good people in this undead world." Yuko smiled at the leader.
"Of course, what would you expect…" The female firefighter leader paused as she took off her helmet, revealing a face that Saya knows very well.
"A mother can never turn her back on her own child." The woman revealed herself to be Saya's mother, Yuriko Takagi.
"Mommy!" Saya cried smiling and jumps for a hug with her mommy.
"Wow, so that's Saya's mom! She's really beautiful!" Kohta amazed.
"Yeah, you can definitely tell where she got her good looks and genius brain from." Oriha commented, happy for Saya to be reunited with her mom.
"Alright, it's Saya's mom!" Takashi smiled, glad to see a friendly familiar face helping out the group.
"I didn't know her mom is a firefighter." Saeko surprised.
"She isn't, well, not before all this zombie shit happen, but who the fuck cares now that helps arrived." Takashi smiled.
"Does that mean we can back to the group now?" Konomi asked.
"Yeah, we'll go back." Takashi answered with a nod.
However, it took Takashi and Saeko two seconds to realize the voice that has just spoken up and look down gasping to see the detective woman standing right next to them with a gun in her hands and she waves at them.
"Konomi! What the fuck are you doing here? Why aren't you with the group?" Takashi asked shock.
"I'm sorry, my body just seemed to move on its own when I saw you two running for the staircase earlier and I had no choice but to follow you guys!" Konomi explained exclaim.
"Almost like you wanted to be close to Takashi." Saeko teased, causing the policewoman to blush like crazy.
"Okay, okay, how about we save the teasing until we get out of here." Takashi suggested.
However, what nobody knows is that there is one more long-arm zombie still inside the apartment building with its long arms stuck because of they are somehow wrapped around some pipes, and the gas pipe is open letting out the flammable air out.
When the long-arm zombie pull more for its arms to break free so much that the pipes broke and that soon cause a big explosion from one apartment and soon the fire spread and a few more explosions causes parts of the building to crumble down on the staircase.
"Shit! Our way is blocked!" Konomi gasped.
"You gotta be kidding me! How did this happen?" Takashi asked shock.
"I don't know, but I don't think we can get back to the others like this." Saeko pointed out.
"Takashi!" Sayo screamed for her little brother and lover.
"Damn it, looks like we're gonna have to go through the other way to get to Saya's house." Takashi said as he looks over the path.
"Can't you guys put out that fire?" Rei asked.
"No, we don't have any water with us right now and our air cannons will only fan the flames bigger if we were to fire them right now." Yuriko answered with a slight sadden look.
"What kind of fucking firefighters don't carry water on them?" Rei asked, feeling a little angry right now.
"Hey! Don't go talking to my mother like that!" Saya talked back.
"Girls, enough. This is not the time to be arguing, we need to get going right now." Yuko said shocking the two.
"You can't be serious!?" Rei said.
"I am, and I know my son is also thinking he and Saeko should get moving too, and hopefully Konomi will be careful with them." Yuko looked over at the flaming rumble to see the strong look on her son's face.
Seeing that look reminds Yuko of her late husband who would also use that face whenever to show her that everything is going to be okay and he would come back to her and his family, and now Takashi is making that same mental promise to her right now as she gives her son a nod.
"Mom nods, that means she understands that we need to get going now." Takashi said.
"W-Wait, we're not even going to try to find a way around that fire?" Konomi asked nervously.
"If you don't mind being burned alive by the fire and screaming in pain until the fire silence your voice." Saeko blurted out the outcome if they try to get near that fire.
Konomi looks back at the fire blocking the way back to the others and thinking about what Saeko just said as she did not want her life to end by fire, so she decided to go with the logic choice and go with Takashi and Saeko to find another way to Saya's house.
"I'm coming!" Konomi said.
Meanwhile with the rest of the group looking on to see Takashi, Saeko, and Konomi going up the stairs and entering another path on another street to meet up with them, Rei decided to scream for a bit even though they wouldn't be able to hear her from this far.
"We'll be waiting for you at Saya's house! Please come back to us soon!" Rei shouted.
Even though her voice could not reach to the others, she knew that they will make it back and they will because Takashi is among those three and she believes everything is going to be fine.
"Mommy, is daddy going to be okay?" Alice asked her ninja mother.
"Don't worry, daddy and those other two ladies will come back in one piece." Goryu believed.
"Come on, we better get to my house if we want to meet up with them." Saya smiled.
"That's right, let's go!" Oriha cheered.
(Over Several Minutes Later)
Takashi, Saeko, and Konomi who has been struggling to keep up with them for a while, made their way back through the streets from before to see if they can find any way to get through, but they keep finding some zombies.
"Shit, here too." Takashi cursed.
"It doesn't look like we can make it to the second block." Saeko stated.
"If that's the case, then let's go back to the way we came in. There weren't even a few zombies back then, so I'm sure that street is still clean." Konomi suggested.
"Good idea, and we'll be able to spot Takagi's house from here too." Takashi agreed and the three ran.
A few minutes later, back into the quiet and empty streets, Takashi looks up seeing a big building at the top of a hill with trees meaning that is none other than the Takagi household.
"There! I can see Takagi's house from here." Takashi pointed at the big house.
"Oh shit, I heard about the Takagi family being loaded, but I had no idea their house would be that big!" Konomi shocked.
"Yeah, I always thought about that family likes to show off." Takashi commented.
"So, are we going to run on the fences again?" Saeko asked curious.
"Oh, please no! I don't think I can handle doing that again." Konomi begged.
"I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one, we're gonna need something to get us there together without one of us slowing down. If only I have a bike." Takashi said.
But then remembers something from earlier when his group discovered no zombies in the area and the one store where they stop for a moment when Hinako wanted to get some new parts.
"Come on, I think I know a place where we can get ourselves a ride." Takashi said as he ran in the other direction.
The two girls with him were confused about where he was going until they found themselves back to that very store.
"But didn't Hinako already raid this store a while ago?" Saeko asked.
"She only needed the things like parts and packed a few snacks, the rest should still be here, and the vehicles are still in shape." Konomi explained.
"Well, if we didn't have zombies to worry about, I might've taken you two on a date." Takashi flirted a bit.
"D-Date on m-motorcycles?!" Konomi gasped with her face turning red and Saeko just giggles from the flirting attempt.
"Tandem is dangerous, I do hope you won't think about doing anything crazy." Saeko pointed out.
Saeko enters the backroom seeing some tools and one very interesting vehicle that looks very useful more than it looks.
"Hey, how about this ride?" Saeko asked.
Takashi and Konomi come into the room and are both surprises to see the car Saeko has found, and it looks like the detective woman is looking very excited of seeing this car with her eyes widen and her smile widen almost like it's about to break her face.
"No way! You actually found an Argo 8X8 Avenger 700! It's an amphibious car that can not only travel by land, but also by water like an actual boat because baby here is the combination of a car and a boat at the same time with smooth sailing through the water!" Konomi bragged on exciting.
Takashi and Saeko were taken back by how knowledgeable she is with this kind of car, maybe she has a thing for cars in the past.
"So, you like cars?" Saeko asked, causing Konomi to gasp in realization.
"Sorry about that! It was just that I did a case with my former partner, Tatara, involving some illegal trafficking through the water and we were able to burst them. And I remember how fun it was to ride one of these." Konomi explained, remembering how it was fun the first time.
"Cool, and lucky for us, this baby is just what we need!" Takashi smirked.
Takashi and the girls got whatever they could grab from the store into the amphibious car then he starts up the car, listening to that engine roar meaning this car is ready to hit the road and water too.
"(Oh yeah, this is gonna be fun!)" Takashi thought smirked.
The three drove off onto the road and headed down for the riverbank as they can see some more zombies around that area too, but Takashi didn't stop as he drove the car down the slope to the river and when zombies try to follow them because of the sound from the car, they fell down on the slope ground and crash at the bottom.
"Ha! Those fuckers can walk up the stairs, but they can't walk down!" Takashi insulted the zombies.
"It would seem so, but their recovery is something else." Saeko commented.
"Is there nothing that can keep those zombies down?" Konomi exclaimed.
"Besides smashing their heads in." Saeko said.
"You two hold on, we're about to hit the water!" Takashi alerted as he immediately drove the car onto the river where he hopes the zombies will not be able to follow them and the water splashes onto them.
"Okay, I think we should be safe for a-AAAAHHH!" Takashi gasped when he saw both girls are not only wet on the head and skin, but their clothes have become wet enough to make them see-through.
"Oh yeah, I made the right choice to come here." Takashi grinned.
"H-Hey, no need to stare at us so much!" Saeko embarrassed with her cheeks turning red.
"Can you please just drive to get away from the zombies?" Konomi asked, she can already feel her heart racing so much because of how Takashi is looking at her right now.
"Sorry, I'll get us going." Takashi chuckled as he drove the boat-cat away from the scene.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Takashi, Saeko, and surprisingly Konomi have been separated from the rest of the group as they were saved by Saya's mom, and now the three are going to take a different path that will lead them back to everyone though they might find themselves with certain obstacles along the way.
