It took a while, but it's here.
"Let me be blunt for a sec." Sivir grunted as she tiredly heaved yet another cardboard box through the doorway. "How the hell does an orphan have so much stuff?"
"Shut up…" Rell retorted, annoyed, a step behind her and lugging an equally stuffed-full box. "Riven took me shopping the other day, alright?"
"Which bodes the next question." Sivir dumped her box on the kitchen table and groaned, working a kink in her back. "How the hell could Riven afford all of it?"
"Hey, I actually have money now, you dick." From her perch over on the floor in the lounge where she had been observing the exchange, Riven spoke up flatly. "And stop being so grumpy." She wore a knowing grin while she turned back to digging through one of the three boxes laid out around her. "I know it's because you've got to introduce us all to your dad this week!"
"Yeah, stop being so grumpy!" Rell parroted with a smug smirk. The sound of Riven clearing her throat and the resulting stern look once Rell glanced over reduced her grin to a sheepish, thin line. At least, until she spotted Riven pull out what looked to be a notepad, at which point she froze on the spot.
"Oh, God, don't- Urgh, no… Please don't remind me…" Sivir grimaced and turned back to the door with all the intent of collecting more of Rell's belongings rather than entertain what Riven was referencing. "Let's just get those last few boxes, alright? Stop pausing to look at random shit."
Too busy cringing inwardly, Sivir departed without noticing that her words on deaf ears: Riven too busy inspecting the pad of paper in her hand, and Rell too busy looking over in pure, abject horror. The front door clicking shut seemed to snap Rell to action, the box of clothes still held in her arms swiftly connecting with and spilling over the floor and she made a mad dash towards her new sister.
"W-Why are you looking at my stuff!?" She yelled, nearly crashing into Riven in her efforts to snatch the pad from her hands.
"Hey! Calm down..!" Riven, taken aback by Rell's action, offered no resistance and handed it over.
Flustered, Rell plonked herself down against the couch behind her, wiggling nervously. With the pad held tightly to her chest, she'd first glimpsed a page that had been open, and blood was now rushing to her face in embarrassment now her fear was realised.
"…Did you read it?" She asked futilely; hopefully.
"…I'm sorry, it was on top. It caught my eye and I got curious." Riven admitted, offering a sheepish but warm smile. She shuffled over to sit shoulder to shoulder to her sister, who tightened her hold on her pad in response, and nudged her reassuringly. "You're writing a song..?"
The pad rose to hide Rell's face and a high-pitched whine emitted from behind it, her muffled voice a second later. "…Don't laugh…"
"Hey, why would I laugh?" Riven asked gently, reaching to pull the pad away so she could look Rell in the eyes. "You think the only songs I've wrote are the ones that I willingly sing?" She received a delayed, mute shake of the head in return, and reached out to lay a hand on the pad. "Let me read it?"
Naturally, Rell hesitated, shuffling her butt in her spot on the floor; her hold on her pad didn't lessen. Having some random lyrics she scrawled down while she had been stuck at the orphanage. Words spurred by bouts of anger and frustration at her situation - Riven having been barred from seeing her. And to have her, the artist - the woman - she had come to idolise so much even take a glimpse at what she had written down…
Rell met her sister's deep ambers with her own, spied the sincerity within them, and her shoulders relaxed. Her arms relented their grip and allowed Riven to take the pad once more with a soft word of appreciation and settle into a more comfortable position beside her. Comparatively, Rell couldn't help but wriggle with nervousness, angling body to better read Riven's expressions as she scanned the sheet.
"Rules, thorns, crowns, law…
Meet, your, down-fall…"
Riven muttered the first couple lines of lyrics in an ad-libbed rhythm, her voice fading as she continued down the page.
"…Like mother's name.
She's faceless aga-"
The teen tensed as Riven stopped suddenly and looked down to her, her mouth still held ajar from reading.
"Is it too much? It's too edgy, right? Does it read weird? Like I'm trying too hard?" Rell reeled off questions one after the other with rapid succession, wrapping herself with her arms as she uncomfortably rocked in place. "I-It was just that I wasn't in a great place, is all. The orphanage was suffocating, and I couldn't see you, and you've said before to write what I feel and-"
"Rell," Riven halted her tirade by resting a hand on her knee and smiled, "it's… really good..!"
"…" This time it was Rell's mouth that hung open, if only briefly before she closed it and licked her suddenly dry lips. "…Really..?"
"Really!" Riven repeated, her smile growing with enthusiasm, turning back to the pad. "It hits hard, I like it. A lot!" She rocked her head side to side with a slight quirk down of her lips. "I admit, I thinking I might need to ask your new teacher to keep an eye on your spelling but otherwi-oof-!"
An elbow to her side interrupted her tangent, but only drew a laugh from her right after, which Rell joined. Half out of humour, half from relief.
Riven settled, and turned her body to face her little sister. "…Do you want me to help you work on this-?"
"Yes!" Rell immediately blurted out bouncing to her knees, but caught herself quickly and gathered herself. "I'd really like that..!"
They shared a smile, and Riven began to raise a hand up only for the door to clatter open, drawing both their attention. Sivir, her disgruntled face barely visible above the stacked boxes in her arms, staggered back into the apartment. At the sight of the two of them sitting on the floor, her scowl deepened and she made towards the hallway and Rell's new room.
"Oh no, don't worry. It's fine. I'll carry all the brat's shit…" She grumbled as she stomped past them.
"…Sorry..!" Rell apologised in her wake, the pair sheepishly watching her disappear down the hall.
"As I was about to say…" Riven began, and tapped Rell's shoulder to gain her attention.
Using the same hand, she stuck out her index finger and thumb, followed by her pinky with her middle and ring fingers curled into her palm, and directed her hand towards Rell. She stifled in response, and quickly raised her own hand to waggle her thumb and pinky between them before lunging forward to wrap her big sister in a firm hug, one Riven swiftly returned.
"Hey..." The pair suddenly toppled to the side courtesy of a returning Sivir's foot, the final set of boxes left atop the dining table. She swiftly raised her hands in a lazy apology following joint glares from the sisters. "Just reminding you we're on a time limit."
"Ah, right." Riven clicked her tongue and stood, helping her new sister to her feet in turn. "You still good to give Rell a lift while I make this detour?"
"Uhuh." Sivir confirmed, already walking across to the door to collect their respective helmets. She flung one over to Rell, who had jogged over. "Do you know how long you'll be?"
"Half hour at most." Riven told them, retrieving her jacket from it's hook. She swiped both her keys and a gift bag from the kitchen counter and hurried out of the apartment, ruffling Rell's untamed hair in passing. "See you at the penthouse!"
Tifalenji glanced away from the memorial, down to her left where Riven was crouching. The singer had her eyes shut, Teneff's rosary clutched between clasped hands, and was mumbling a lengthy prayer. The sight brought a sad smile to her face.
"So let's see…" She spoke up once Riven had finished, her tone light. "You use Teneff's rosary, you play guitar… "How long did you smoke for?"
Riven faltered at both the accuracy and bluntness of the question, and scratched her cheekbone sheepishly. "…A year or so…"
Tif huffed in amusement. "There are better habits to pay tribute, surely?"
"You're not the first to say that." Riven quipped back, standing and stretching back to pop her spine. "Yeah, maybe I should have chosen the knee-jerk temper, or the violent disposition!"
"…Touché." Tifalenji conceded and turned back to the memorial, but blinked in surprise as a small, glittered gift bag swung into her vision from her left, obstructing her view.
She looked back from her now obstructed view of the memorial. The ashen-haired woman was sporting a sheepish smile, bashful in her action.
"What's this?" Tif asked curiously after nodding in acknowledgement of her sister's presence, scrupulously eyeing the bag held in her closed fist.
"This is for giving me that CD." Riven said softly, passing the bag to Tif and rocking awkwardly on her heels. "Sorry if the glitter goes everywhere - Ahri found it for me. Insisted I needed a bag…"
She watched the dark-haired woman chuckled as she took the bag, peering inside only to stare at it's contents.
"They always told me how you've never been one for materialistic things, and that you were - and I quote - a pompous wine snob." A brief snort of her own laughter interrupted her words when she heard Tif flatly muttering that their sisters were a 'Bunch of bitches', but Riven continued, indicating over her shoulder. "So I asked my own pompous snob for recommendations. She couldn't come with me today, though. Interview."
Tif followed Riven's gesture to the spot where Evelynn tended to stand whenever the two remaining sisters met; by the entrance to the cemetery. Should Evelynn have accompanied Riven on such occasions, the Diva would always insist on giving them their time together, happy to wait by or in her car. A charming gesture, Tif had to admit, though she had ensured they had exchanged greetings on such an instance in the past.
She returned her focus to the overtly decorative bottle of wine within the bag and pulled it out, reading the label before regarding Riven with a neutral expression that betrayed her alarm. "This is far too expensive, Riven."
"Hey, I have some money now." Riven insisted, shrugging. "And, well… as far as I'm concerned this is pocket change compared to what you gave me. Her voice again is something I'd never thought I'd hear again." She smiled wryly. "I'm sure at some point I'll be able to do so without crying like a baby..!"
A warm chuckle bubbled from Tif's throat as she settled her gaze on the vintage in her hands. A thought from what Riven had told her the last time they met played on her mind. "You mentioned you were touring, yes?"
"Yeah, in a couple of weeks." Riven confirmed. "Won't be able to visit for a while."
"May I make a suggestion?" After seeing Riven silently acquiesce with a shrug and nod, she continued. "Once you're finished, come visit." She raised the bottle. "We'll share it?"
"Oh…" Riven seemed surprised at the offer. "…You're sure?"
"Bring Second, of course." Tif added assuredly, inwardly hoping for her to accept.
While she was a reclusive woman at the best of times, content with her own company, even she was finding herself to be lonely. The times meeting with Riven, the woman who replaced her, were the only times she really spoke to anyone. It meant she was out of practise in any form of communication - not that she was well versed to begin with - and this gift proffered had an opportunity.
Storing the bottle in her own handbag, the neck peeking out, she took Riven's mittened hands in her own and squeezed them. "A drink between sisters, for sisters."
The younger woman both stiffened and relaxed at the touch within a moment. She looked down to their hands and back up into Tif's eyes, and a spark of recognition ignited in her own. A small and wobbly smile grew on her face. "I'll be there."
Evelynn clicked her tongue, troubled as she hurried after Ahri. K/DA's leader was several steps ahead, marching fervently out of the studio in which they had just taken part in yet another interview. She was stiff in her movements, ignoring and snubbing those she passed by; people she'd normally be happily greeting and thanking on any other occasion. This time, however, she was blatantly uncomfortable with even being in the building anymore, and understandably so.
Looking down to the phone in her hand, Evelynn once again inspected the photo it displayed - one she had taken days ago for the purpose of sending to their group chat, showing Ahri leaning into Shen. The elbow of his sleeve was delicately clutched between her forefinger and thumb with needy compassion while the pair walked from one clothing store to the next. An image strikingly similar to one shoved in their faces during the interview, with plenty of questions to follow.
With a scoff, Evelynn tucked her phone away down the neckline of her top and upped her pace to catch up to her best friend, reaching out to rest a hand tentatively on Ahri's shoulder. "Foxy…"
"I let my guard down for a second - a y touch! One! Touch!" The normally collected and bubbly singer blew up the moment Evelynn interacted with her, stopping dead in her tracks with a heavy stomp of her heel. Staff around them jumped at her outburst; Evelynn herself had seen Ahri lose her composure like this only a handful of times in all their years together. "I'm so foolish to think I can have even a moment!"
"Ahri." Evelynn made sure to glower at those still watching and shoo them away before calmly moving to face the distressed pop-star, her hands on either shoulder; thumbs drawing soothing circles into the soft skin. She quickly glanced over her shoulder towards their exit, more than aware of the hounding that awaited the singer from the bustling paparazzi outside, then back to her friend. "Deep breaths, Darling. Remember where we're going after this." Despite her demeanour, Ahri did as instructed, sucking in a shaky breath and exhaling similarly. Enough times later, she had settled and Evelynn continued. "How do you want to go about this, Foxy?"
"I don't know!" Ahri flustered, shrugging animatedly, arms up in the air before crossing tightly. She looked to the side angrily, though the fire in her eyes was juxtaposed by the honestly adorable pout on her lips.
"I can break some cameras like the good old days, draw some attention?"
Her offer earned a sardonic laugh from Ahri. "No, it's okay… It was gonna happen eventually." She pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. "I just wish it could have been on my own terms, not some random guy with a phone."
"The media are fickle." Evelynn said flatly, truthfully. "They picked at anything that came their way when Riven robbed them of a week's worth of headlines." She looked back to Ahri after making a point of rolling her eyes, and blinked in surprise at the wide-eyed look of enlightenment on her face. "…Foxy?"
"I can deal with this." Ahri stated firmly, lifting Evelynn's hands from her shoulders and settling off on a path to the exit.
"Ahri..!" Evelynn called after her, quick on her heel.
She followed K/DA's lead as she practically burst through the double doors, pausing a moment to spy their car, before pacing purposely past all the flashing lights and yells of attention from the reporters that flanked the barriers either side of them. Ahri's sudden emboldened resolve only threw Evelynn for a moment, after which an understanding smirk crossed her lips upon realising that Ahri's gaze hadn't veered from the tall, broad man currently standing with the vehicle.
Shen was doing his best to disregard the nearby paparazzi, who's flashing cameras had - for reasons unbeknownst to him - turned in his direction. Seeing the singers approach, he had begun to open the door for them to evade the media around them, but soon adorned a confused expression when he noticed the intense eyes locked onto him.
When they reached him, Ahri brought herself right up to his front, her neck craning to look up at him due to his height. Before he could even question her, she reached up and snatched away his face mask, hooked her hands around his neck and pulled him down, raising onto her toes to lock her lips with his.
Sagely, Evelynn had continued on into the car so as to avoid becoming the inevitable third wheel, but proudly watched Ahri stand her ground over the rim of the glass of red wine she had just poured. The exclamations of the crowd upped an octave, camera's flashed tenfold, and questions fired away only to meet deaf ears as Ahri savoured her first public kiss with the man she loved. The rather unexpecting and currently shell-shocked man who could only stiffly look across to Evelynn in confusion as Ahri held his head firm, to which the Diva simply raised her glass.
Seconds later, Ahri plopped herself down in the back of the car next to Evelynn as her bewildered boyfriend shut the door behind her and made his way to the driver's seat. A content sigh left the singer's mouth as she delicately wiped the corners of her lips with a knuckle, resolution and victory in her azure eyes.
"I'm doing things my way from now on." She said resolutely, taking the glass of wine from her impressed best friend. The chink of glasses clashing together filled the space around them. "Fuck 'em."
"Hear hear, Foxy." Evelynn took a sip and sighed contently. "Hear hear…"
A cigar appeared front and centre in Riven's vision, taking her attention. She followed the outstretched hand offering it to the stout, broad, side-burn wielding man beside her.
Malcolm Graves wore a smirk as he waggled the cigar to emphasise it. "A delicious cigar in this trying time, Ma'am?"
Riven snorted, the overly polite tone completely unbefitting the man. She took the cigar from him, twirled it between her fingers and raised it to her nose, inhaling. After finding that small degree of satisfaction from the familiar scent, she handed it back. "Thanks, but I've quit. Probably shouldn't."
Malcolm shrugged nonchalantly, and as he placed it between his own teeth and ferreted for a light, Riven returned to observing the scene in front of them. In the centre of the Penthouse's kitchen, an exasperated Evelynn was heatedly talking with Malcolm's husband-to-be with more animation than Riven had ever witnessed.
"-e're not changing the song a fifth time, and for the umpteenth time, I am not walking you down the aisle!" The Diva stomped a heeled foot and crossed her arms beneath her generously displayed bosom in finality.
"But why not!?" Tobias shot back. "You know me better than anyone else here!"
"You're. My. Ex!" She practically growled with a look that could have killed if she didn't also fail to appear so flattered by the request, her cheeks flushed. "Do you know how that would look? Giving away my ex to marry the man he left me for?"
Tobias scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Like you care how people see you anymore."
"This is an extraneous circumstance Tobias!"
From their position to the side of the heated exchange, Riven and Malcolm shared a knowing side-glance.
"It's honestly great to see you two getting along so well." Riven mused, both them adorning wide, shit-eating grins.
Quick as a flash, Evelynn spun to face her girlfriend wearing an insulted, but flustered expression. "Do not even suggest that we're friends!"
"You mean we aren't!?" Tobias snipped indignantly, crossing his arms childishly. "You helped me plan this whole damn thing! You invited me to this party!"
"Oh, that's different, Tobias! You-"
"Heh heeh." As the back and forth continued, Malcolm chuckled and exhaled a practised ring of smoke, leaning over so he wouldn't be in earshot of the arguing pair. "They're friends."
Riven snorted again. "Oh, yeah. Totally."
Gasps and exclamations of shock erupted from the lounge, drawing Riven's eyes away from the argumentative pair to the dense grouping of individuals all squashed onto the main couch.
"Omigosh~!" Ahri squealed in horror, wriggling in her seat upon Shen's lap. "Mara's totally gonna find out about his affair now~!"
"Truly scandalous." Shen agreed, eyes transfixed on the reality show streaming on the TV.
"They really fucked up there, didn't they?" Sivir commented, earning a raised eyebrow from her girlfriend beside her.
"I thought you hated reality TV - why are you so into this?" Kai'Sa asked skeptically.
"I'm…" Sivir's protest tapered off as she adopted an unconfident look of genuine and puzzlement. "…not..?"
Kayle scoffed from the other side of Kai'Sa. "Sure you're not."
A grumbly yawn emerged from beneath the coffee table, an even more grey Second having let out a hefty yawn.
"Well he's certainly not." Kai'Sa mused fondly.
Straddling the arm of the couch beside her own girlfriend, Akali raised a chip-dust covered hand. "Who wants to bet one hundy that Qiqi makes a surprise appearance?"
Everyone on the couch sent a questioning look her way, before Sivir raised a hand of her own. "I'll take those odds."
"Yeah because it's pocket change for you." Kai'Sa muttered, rolling her eyes when Sivir pouted in response.
"Akali, you talk to her all the time…" Ahri said critically. "You're not scamming us like that."
"I don't know what you mean." The rapper flatly defended herself.
From the floor nearby where she had been doodling on a sleeping Olaf's arm tattoos with a permanent marker, Rell turned her head their way. "Can I get in on this?"
"No." Came the unified response from every adult present. Sivir added: "You're too young to gamble."
"Oh, come-on!" Rell protested. "I'm too young to drink but you still-" Her words died on her tongue when she saw Sivir begging with her eyes.
"Oh, no. Please continue." Came Riven's voice as the rocker approached from the kitchen. Her request came softly - too soft - as she crossed her arms and looked down her nose towards her sister.
"I'd like to hear this too." Kai'Sa added, sending a narrowed stare to her girlfriend.
Silence hung across the couch while the guilty parties didn't dare look at anything or anyone other than each other. Without words, due to the true comradery gradually built between them, they made a solemn, silent agreement to bite the bullet and step into the fire toget-
"Sivir asked me." Rell said with pure neutrality in her voice, remaining poker-faced as she broke eye contact with her scapegoat.
"Oh, fuck you."
With a heave, Riven handed the final suitcase over to the coach driver, thanked him, and stepped back to take in the larger than life Pentakill logo that took up most of the coach's flank. The butterflies she thought had finally settled burst back into life now that the moment was finally upon her.
Even when she thought back to all that had happened, it seemed unfathomable to her that it had all come to pass. If anyone had told her a year ago that this was where she'd end up, she'd have quite bluntly told them to fuck off.
"Honey?" At the sound of her girlfriend's voice, Riven turned to Evelynn, most of the other members of K/DA, and Sivir; all others present for the gathering had already departed or boarded the coach. Evelynn approached to land a gentle kiss onto her lips. "Say your goodbyes, I'll save you the best seat."
"Back centre?"
"You know it~!" Evelynn winked sultrily, before stepping around Riven to climb aboard the coach.
Riven looked to Kai'Sa and Sivir first, who were waiting next to their own private transport. She inspected the near-pearlescent black body of the expensive-looking saloon car, as well as the stoic, sharply dressed man sat in the driver's seat.
She vaguely gestured to the vehicle. "So this is..?"
"Yup." Came Sivir's flat confirmation.
"It's very…" Riven's words tailed away as she waved her hand, struggling to find the correct word.
"Yup." Sivir answered regardless, starkly aware of her friend's meaning.
"Hush, both of you!" Kai'Sa half-heartedly scolded them. "I think it's quite sweet he had his own staff come all this way to pick us up."
"That's one word for it." Sivir quipped grimly.
"You hate this so much?" Riven asked probingly.
"I- no, I don't…" Sivir finally admitted, looking away sheepishly. "It's been nearly three years. It'll be nice to see him again - have him meet Kai… Whatever."
"You see~!" Kai'Sa repressed a squeal as she gushed over her girlfriend, squeezing her firm arm. "She's a daddy's girl after all!"
"I'mgettinginthecar." Sivir rushed out bashfully, spinning on the spot to open the saloon's boot to deposit their luggage.
Kai'Sa chuckled after her, before facing Riven and taking the rocker's hands in hers. "You're gonna have an amazing time, Riv. Above all else, be sure you enjoy yourself. 'Kay?" She smiled as Riven nodded, then craned her head behind her. "Sivir! Wish your bestie good luck!"
Stiffly setting down the case in her hand, Sivir returned to Kai'Sa side where Riven had begun to hold out her fist for their usual bump. She regarded it for the briefest of moments before shifting it aside to embrace her best friend firmly.
"See you in six months." She said softly.
Riven smiled into Sivir's shoulder. "You must really have missed your dad, huh?"
"Fuck off." Sivir scoffed a laugh as they dissolved the hug, and resumed packing their suitcases away.
"I want you to video call with Azir so I can talk to him." Riven added teasingly.
"Fuck off~!" The Egyptian sang as she sat down in the back seat, slamming the door after her. Kai'Sa gave a hug of her own before also bidding Riven goodbye and getting into the vehicle.
With that, Riven moved along to Ahri, who had been waiting patiently for her turn. They shared a smile before both glancing down to Second, who was obediently sitting by Ahri's heel, his lead held in the singer's grip.
"You're sure you're okay with taking care of him?" Riven checked; the aged hound was simply too old to tour the country.
"Yeah, of course!" Ahri nodded, confidence in her voice. "I've sort of gotten used to him, and exposure's the best remedy for a phobia, I guess!"
"Well, that or trauma. Shen'll be around, I guess." Riven said absently, grinning at the mock-pout Ahri pulled in response. She leaned in for a hug, smile broadening at the tightness of Ahri's arms.
"I'll send pictures every day." Ahri told Riven warmly. "And best of luck, Rivey. You'll be amazing!"
"Thanks, Foxy." Riven said gratefully as they stepped apart. "Enjoy having the place to yourself for a while, too."
Ahri subtly wiggled her eyebrows. "Almost alone…~"
A mechanical whirring had them both look to the black saloon, Kai'Sa having lowered a window to send a pointed glare to her band-mate. "Fuck Shen on my bed and I'll murder you."
They both remained silent until Kai'Sa's stare disappeared back behind the tinted window, at which point Ahri looked back at Riven sheepishly.
"One less room to cover, I suppose..!" She quipped, the pair chuckling.
Rapid footsteps quickly rose in volume from the direction of the apartment block, along with laboured panting. Nary a second later, Akali shot past - nearly flinging a bulging gym back at the poor driver that was nearly sent to the ground under it's weight - and leapt onto the coach, exclaiming her presence.
At that, Evelynn's appeared at the top of the handful of steps onto the coach. "Just you now, Honey."
"Alright." Riven acknowledged, turning back to flash a final smile at Ahri before dropping into a crouch to come face to face with her other best friend. She took his face in her hands to ruffle his fur, and leaned in to leave a small peck on his grey snout. "I'll see you in no time, okay?"
Second grumbled in response, then let out a single, loud bark in her face that had Ahri jolt next to him. His attempt to lather Riven's face with his tongue was futilely evaded by his laughing owner, who finally stood up and, with a final goodbye, went to ascend the steps onto the coach. Walking down the aisle, she exchanged words with the members of Pentakill - as well as a brief moment to marvel at the already sleeping Akali - until she reached Evelynn at the rear seats she'd reserved.
"Excited, Honey?" Evelynn asked warmly as her girlfriend sat down in the centre seat.
"Yeah. And nervous, terrified, so on. But I have you guys, so I'm fine." Riven answered honestly, leaning down to share a kiss that was happily received. "I love you."
Evelynn's face shone. "I love you too, Honey."
Satisfied, Riven rested back to look down the length of the coach.
At least, until she saw the gagging motion made by the girl sitting on her other side.
"Please say I'm not gonna be a third wheel this entire time..?" Rell near-begged, meeting her sister's blank stare with pleading one of her own
"You won't." Riven promised flatly.
"We're not sharing rooms, right?"
"Not all the time, I'm sure…"
"…Please don't make noise."
"Okay~! We'll always sleep in different rooms!" Riven decided with a look of morbidity across her features.
Rell snickered to herself, turning her head to look outside as the coach began to set off. An arm suddenly wrapped around her shoulder and pulled her in. She wriggled in protest at the action, until Riven nuzzled into her messy locks and left an affectionate kiss on the top of her head.
"I love you." Riven said softly, repeating aloud what they had shared earlier that day.
Rell couldn't help the small puff of air she let out, and felt herself relax into Riven's side.
Hearing it was something else entirely.
"Love you too, Sis."
And that's that.
Sorry it took so long to finally finish this off. For so long any attempt at writing this chapter just ended up not feeling right no matter what I wrote.
And then literally today, just listening to a random song of my Spotify weekly recommended, it clicked and I came home from work and wrote the entire thing.
Hopefully it's a suitable ending as I hope it is.
Thanks to everyone who actually stuck around for what were basically ADHD induced hiatuses (this is my first actual completed story ever), I appreciate you all.
I have another main focus in the works now but will be spending time outside posting it to get a good grasp of it, so in the meantime please check out my one-shots etc if you think you'd be interested, I'd appreciate the support immensely.
Love you bye~!
