With the sun rays beating down, offering a layer of gold to everything it touched, the twelfth of June was a beautiful summers day.

It also happened to be Draco and Harry's wedding day.

Draco woke up sweating to the sound of his name being whispered in his ear. Jade was curled under his armpit, urging his father to wake up.

"Daddy. Daddy, wake up. Daddy."

Along with the whispering, Jade had his tiny four-year-old hands twirling through Draco's white, chin-length hair.

Draco blinked a few times and stared up at the ceiling. Jade could tell his dad was awake now.

"Daddy…Are you dead?" His voice was warbling.

Draco smiled and turned to look at his spitting image adopted son.

"No Jade, but I am feeling rather weird…"

The child's voice went up an octave. "Daddy what do you mean?"

"Well my fingers, they won't stop itching, like they want to tickle someone!"

Draco rolled over and tickled his son, as Jade squealed with delight, tears coming from his eyes.

They stayed doing this for five minutes until there was a knock on the door.

Draco was pulled from Jade's delighted face amongst the emerald quilt and faced the knocker breathlessly.

His mother was standing there, with her long white hair down and her green robe on.

Draco had stayed at the manor the eve of his wedding with Jade, while Harry stayed at the Burrow with Jody.

"Morning boys," Narcissa said. Her voice nearly broke at the sight of her only son on the morning of his wedding, playing with his son.

"Mother." Draco smiled and nodded.

Jade leapt from the bed and scurried to his grandmother. Automatically, Narcissa picked up the boy and held him on her hip.

Draco sighed, and looked at the moment, noting how similar it looked to a photograph he had once seen of himself and his mother.

"Mother you don't have to pick him up, I don't want him to hurt you."

Looking again, Draco noted how frail his mother was looking recently, his father too. He then reminded himself that it was his wedding day and thoughts like that were better left in the subconscious.

Draco kicked off the quilt making Jade laugh. He walked towards his mother's soft smile and kissed her on her cheek.

"I'm getting married today!"

He gripped his son underneath his armpits and swung him round into the hallway of the house.

"I'm getting married today!" Draco shouted louder.

Narcissa noticed the door of her own bedroom opening, and Lucius walking, with the help of his stick, into the hallway.

"Yes, yes Draco. Shout it louder, I don't think our closest neighbours a mile away heard you."

Narcissa walked towards her husband and stood beside him. She grabbed his hand and squeezed it, as a subtle reminder to be on his best behaviour.

His father's voice made Draco stop spinning Jade and hold the giggling child close.

Lucius looked at his wife. "Narcissa there is no need to squeeze my hand, I will not ruin today. Who would've guessed Potter would've been the person to make my kin this happy."

Narcissa rolled her eyes and smiled nonetheless. Jade kept giggling at his grandmother's expression.

Draco laughed once and re-adjusted the child on his hip.

"If that's your way of saying you're proud of me father, thank you."

"I don't need to say it Draco, you should know I'm proud of you already."

Although he would never admit it, that was all Draco had ever wanted to hear in his whole life. He could feel himself welling up, and knew he would be crying later, so he wanted to save some tears for his guests.

He coughed, "Okay, you weird sentimental family. Let us go and eat before our help starts to arrive.

"Although if I know Pansy, she'll be here within a minute."

Not a second later, a shrill voice came from downstairs.

"Oh bride-to-be! Where are you? I'm coming through the floo with my team."

Lucius groaned and rubbed his temples.

"Dear mother o-"

"Lucius! Jade is here!" Narcissa abruptly cut her husband off.

Draco laughed again, as he let Jade run toward the voice of his Auntie Pans.

Today, he thought, today will be the best day of my life.

"Harry!"

Harry's hand instantly flew down to his groin as he heard his name being called. He had been dreaming of Draco and well…

He then remembered his child next to him, and opened one eye to see where Jody was.

His son was not where he fell to sleep, and this made Harry panic.

"Jody? Jody where are you?" He called out.

"Harry he's down here. Come and eat some breakfast."

Harry sighed with relief. He was happy to let Molly look after him today; it was his wedding day after all.

He rubbed his eyes and reached for his glasses on the bedside table. Standing up, he made sure he was suitable for company, and then walked down the three fights of stairs to the kitchen where his family was sitting at the table.

Jody beamed up at his dad with a mouthful of bacon, while Ron was pouring some liqueur in a cup of coffee.

Molly was standing at the stove cooking an obscene amount of bacon, and Arthur was sitting at the head of the table reading a muggle newspaper.

Harry walked over to the empty seat next to his son and kissed the brown-haired boy on his head.

"Oi mate, drink this." Ron handed him the coffee, and Harry thought he could do with the courage of a small drink today.

Hermione flounced into the room, Rose attached to her hip, and gently hit Ron around the head making Harry laugh and then sipped from the coffee. Hermione sighed at her friend.

"Harry my boy, do you happen to know what a Tory is?" Arthur asked behind his paper.

Before Harry could answer, George ran from upstairs, out of breath.

"Pansy is literally going to kill me. I was meant to be there at 8. Oh god."

He ran to the floo, shouting 'Malfoy Manor' before disappearing in a bout of green flames.

Harry chuckled, and made to tuck into the breakfast Molly had placed in front of him.

"Arthur, a Tory is an allegiance in muggle politics. I'm not the one to ask to be honest – Draco is obsessed with it all."

"Ah, good boy."

Harry continued to eat his food, taking in the chaos around him. To his left, his son was contently eating endless rashers of bacon; opposite him, Hermione was feeding her daughter some porridge, while Ron was going through some flash cards with his speech on it. He looked like he was going to have an attack of some sort.

"Ron mate, you can chill over the speech. Whatever you say will be great." Harry reassured his friend.

"But Harry, a best man's speech has to be funny and heart-warming. I don't think I have the brain capacity…"

"You're my brother, you being with me during this day is enough."

Ron looked at Harry like he was going to explode with pride.

"Pops stop being soppy. Soppy Poppy," Jody said, making himself laugh.

Both Ron and Harry started laughing, with Harry putting his arm around his child and lightly pinching his cheek.

Hermione stood up, and passed her daughter to her husband. "You boys take Rosie and Jody while I go and get ready with Fleur and Gin.

"Once I'm ready, we have strict orders to be at the manor for one thirty, which means we have four hours to get everyone scrubbed up and Harry looking like a bride."

Harry groaned while the rest of the Weasley's laughed. Ever since they put a date on the wedding, everyone had been referring to him and Draco as the brides. More so Draco, but it still made Harry cringe.

"Alright gang, calm down." Arthur said. "Let the boy breathe, he's going to be someone's husband in a few hours, and we all know how that feels."

Arthur sent a wink in Harry's direction, who gave a smile back.

"Pops, shoulders."

Harry fulfilled his sons request and out Jody on his shoulders. Jody leant down into his ear and whispered.

"Pops, is Daddy going to wear a dress?"

Harry started to laugh as he began following Ron into the Burrow garden.

"No idea Jodes, but I really hope not. Now lets go and chase some gnomes before we get dressed!"

Harry ran outside, preceded by the peals of laughter coming from his son's mouth.

At this moment, he could not think of anything better.
