It was peaceful.

Leaving the proximity of the trees around the hospital really gave me an idea to just how beautiful it was outside. The sunlight was harsh, but even though we had left behind a very dense section of trees that gave us plenty of shade, there were still enough around the both of us to keep us rather comfortable from getting sunburned.

Flowers became less plentiful as we continued heading to what I assumed was my new home, but the grass was seemingly smelling fresher and fresher due to the abundance of it the further we walked forward. I believed it to be around mid-day due to the height of the sun itself, but I couldn't tell what season it may have been. If I was in Sinnoh like I had found out earlier, then I would assume that it was around the summer time with how hot it felt, but if I remembered correctly, the games had different types of weather depending on the area you were in. Did the weather act the same here?

It was incredibly hard to wrap my brain around anything. Sure, my surroundings seemed pretty normal, but I somehow had turned into a cat. I didn't understand "logic" anymore. Shaking my head to try and forget about all of this nonsense I kept putting into my head, I decided to stay still and clear my mind while continuing to sit in Anthony's arms.

Anthony was taking his time on this walk back home. Again, I had only assumed that he was heading home, but I couldn't imagine anywhere else he would be taking me. He had a calm expression on his face, but with a hint of determination. It seemed like he was pretty deep in thought, most likely going over the kind of future that both of us would have.

Obviously, I was super sacred about everything, but like I had told myself previously, I didn't want to think about my problems. Who knows? I could of had a destiny ahead of me. Everything seemed too scripted, like I was being put to the test for something otherworldly. Taking a quick look back down at my amulet, it reminded me that I already had a hint that I might have been put here for something special, but at this point, I had to just wait and see.

Anthony continued to say nothing during his walk. With the hot sun on my fur, and the quiet environment surrounding me, I had actually fallen asleep. I don't know how long I was out for, but I was woken up by a small tapping on the top of my head.

"Wakey wakey Bud. We're home," Anthony whispered.

Creeping my eyes open, I was presented with a small house. It almost looked like a cottage, and by looking around at my surroundings, it almost looked like we were in the middle of a countryside. It had two hedges on each side of the household, but were trimmed rather small. In fact, they were easily small enough for a person to simply hop right over.

The house was a faded white. It wasn't dirty, but the property had definitely been standing for a long, long time. The windows were squeaky clean, and the sidewalk was freshly brushed off, free from any fallen leaves from last fall. The trees were rather lush as well. There were only two directly on the property, but they were simply enormous. Big and bushy, it looked like the perfect place to set up a treehouse.

Looking around once again, the house was pretty secluded in its location. Under further inspection, the environment we were in was pretty rural looking, but we were still very much inside of a neighborhood. The privacy was absurd though, as each house seemed to be separated by almost a quarter of a kilometer. I found myself feeling quite jealous just by the thought of having this much seclusion.

Anthony took his first steps inside. Immediately, my nose picked up the overwhelming scent of dust. Although the house looked rather clean from the inside, thanks to the open windows letting the sunlight inside, it was very easy to see the floating particles of dust. I experimentally gave the air a small blow, and almost sneezed once again from all of the contaminated air. With a nose now this sensitive, it felt like anything was able to set me off into a sneezing frenzy.

Anthony's face made a noticeable change in expression. He looked rather sad, but quickly brushed it off of his face. He then placed me down onto the floor gently. Sticking all of my limbs downwards, I landed onto the hardwood floor beneath me.

"Well," Anthony started. "I hope you like it. It's.. uh.. home."

Looking around myself, The house seemed pretty normal, but it also seemed to be missing a homely feeling to it. It looked rather bleak, surprisingly so compared to how lush the outside of the property was. As I slowly explored the first floor, I began to further prove my point to myself the more I continued to look around. There was a large lack of furniture. It wasn't empty per say, but it certainly looked like it could use some sprucing up. Past the main entrance to the left, the floor turned to carpet and I was led into what I believed to be the living room.

This room, while not exactly looking anything spectacular, held at least most of what I would expect inside of a living room. A small sofa sat at the left side of the wall, and a bare coffee table sat in the middle of the room. A television sat on the opposite side of the wall, pressed up against a wall that split into a staircase on the side. What I found particularly interesting was the placement of a small bed on the side of the wall further forward. Overall, this room proved to be at least a bit more neat than the entrance.

Finding a crevice, I used my new small body to creep over to what I assumed was another room of the house on the opposite side of the house. For some strange reason, the way that the house was designed prevented anybody from getting to that room I had entered without having to travel back through the two rooms I had already traveled through. It seemed like poor design to me.

What was even more interesting was what I found in the other room. While the room housed the washer and dryer, and another room to the left seemed to lead to the kitchen, what was truly different about this house was what was on my right. There, laid an entrance to a greenhouse.

Entering the greenhouse gave me an entirely different perspective of the house. Why did it look so much better than the rest of the house? I couldn't see it originally from the outside of the house due to the hedges, only proving just how short and small I was now. The greenhouse was easily the size of 3 separate rooms combined into one. It was massive! Massive, and very much beautiful.

If the rest of the house was considered dilapidated, then this was prestigious in comparison. Many rows of plants were spread all around the room, with many being laid in around the walls as well. Sprinklers were attached to the ceiling, and many UV lights were also situated around the greenhouse. It looked like an operation to me. I could hear Anthony walking over from the living room as his shoes hit the hardwood floor at the entrance. His slow pace made me feel comfortable that going into this room wasn't off-limits at least.

If the greenhouse didn't already seem big, further back into it was a staircase to a second floor. The stairs were made of the same glass panels that the greenhouse was made of. Both the stairs and even the walls themselves were amazingly clean and free from any scratches. In the sunlight, everything looked amazing. It was clear to me that Anthony cared a lot more for this part of the house than anything else.

Curious, I tried climbing the stairs. It was a little awkward given I was still getting used to walking on all fours, and I even stumbled down on my chin a couple times on the way up. Thankfully, nobody as there and the stairs were rather small anyways, so I sucked it up and walked to the top of the staircase.

The room looked absolutely stunning. The walls were now replaced with trimmed wooden logs, giving the room a similar look to a log cabin. Many small shelves and drawers lined the walls, as well as another small television. It even had a gaming console. It looked nothing like a PlayStation or an Xbox, and it gave me a reminder that I wasn't even on Earth anymore. I couldn't help but wonder what the gaming industry looked like in a world like this. Was Pokémon a game here too?

Next to the television however, was something else. There was small firepit, housing a tiny fire on the inside of it. It was made of brick and a small chimney made its way up the wall. The firepit also had a rather small stack of wood to its side. However, one thing bothered me; how was the fire still lit? Anthony was clearly out of the house for a long time. Not only would the fire have gone out by this time, but I highly doubted that somebody like him would keep an open fire untended to while he was gone. Looking over to a small tree house in the corner of the room however, showed me a potential reason for these things.

Twitching its ears, a blue cat poked its head up and looked down towards me. The cat pondered something for a moment. It looked rather cute, almost looking like a housecat like I had turned into. However though, the cat stood up, and surprised me, by doing so on two legs.

The cat jumped down onto the floor, matching my height. It tilted its head, before a small smile appeared on its face.

"Hi," The cat spoke. "I'm Frank. How are you?"

At that moment, I think a bit of my brain turned to mush, as I slowly started to crack a smile towards the Pokémon.

...before falling into a crazed laughter.

"U-uh..." The blue cat stuttered.

I couldn't take this seriously anymore. This... place was just something else man. Standing before me was not just a cat, but a real life Pokémon. I knew that I had become one, and I knew that I seen many before inside of the hospital, but seeing one up close and personal like this for the first time was an entirely different experience all together. It was humorous for me to look back at the fact that I couldn't remember practically anything about my own life, yet I recognized parts of my world separate from my life in perfect detail. I just wish I could properly understand amnesia.

Stood in front of me was a bipedal cat-like creature mainly coated in a navy blue fur. Its fur had some white accents along its limbs, and some also contained a white stripe separating both of the colors. It had white tufts of fur on top of its head, and even around its neck. It reminded me of my own neck fur and reminded me yet again of a mane. The cat had very long ears that were flopped inwards on itself, and if having one tail seemed weird enough to me, this Pokémon had two! Lastly, it was hard to ignore the incredibly vibrant eyes of this creature. Its irises were an incredible shade of green, almost jade like, and the inside of their eyes were finished off with two rings, closely resembling the navy fur it had.

With my easy recollection, I knew what I was looking at. A Meowstic, and a male one at that.

Wait... I even seemed to understand this Pokémon! I was too busy laughing away to really think about it, but even though I had heard a "Meow" come from his mouth, I understood him in perfect English.

Slowly, my laughter started to subside as I got my emotions under control. The Meowstic in front of me, however, had backed away a little bit without me realizing. I then cleared my throat, and started to attempt to explain my... strange actions.

"Sorry," I started. "I just had a bit of a moment there."

The Meowstic, seemingly accepting of my answer and noticing my return to normality, walked closer to me.

"I see. Well, I apologize for my... lack of awareness," the Meowstic commented. "So, again, my name is Frank. How are you? You don't look like any Pokémon I've seen around here."

"Well," I responded. "I actually was just brought in by a human into this house. Somebody named Anthony."

Frank seemed stunned from this, and his eyes widened.

"What?! Anthony decided to get another Pokémon?! This is awesome!"

Out of the blue, the Meowstic's attitude changed dramatically. Someone who I initially thought of as calm and collected was now bouncing up and down.

Suddenly, a blue light emanated from around my body, and I started lifting from the ground.

"WOAH WOAH WOAH!"

I looked towards Frank. His body was surrounded by the same kind of blue light, and looking towards his ears, they had opened up, revealing an eye on the inside of each ear. I had completely forgotten about the Meowstic's psychic abilities, and it looked like in his excitement, Frank did as well.

Frank, hearing my yelling, looked up towards the now floating Sprigatito and panicked. We both suddenly lost the blue light around our bodies, and Frank's ears closed up. However, with me still being in the air, I swiftly fell face-first into the wooden floorboards.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry."

I was suddenly covered by a mountain of fur as the Meowstic ran over to help me up. His fur was incredibly soft like mine, and with it rubbing against my muzzle when he came to pick me up, it at least alleviated some of the pain I had just experienced.

"It's alright," I muttered. "just pain."

Frank giggled at my comment, brushing me off a little bit while I got back up.

"I uh, got a little excited there. It's just been such a long time coming."

"Why's that?" I asked.

"Well," Frank started, "Anthony and I have been together for some time now. He brought me home from Kalos after visiting some family there," Frank said seemingly reminiscing about his past.

"Kalos..." I quietly said to myself. "So, just like the X and Y games?"

"What?"

"Oh, nothing," I said back. I didn't even want to consider talking about that right now.

Frank seemed to accept my answer pretty easily like last time, but decided to ask me another question.

"I've never seen a Pokémon like you before. Where are you from?"

To be completely honest, I was not ready for that question. I knew what Pokémon I was, but thinking about it now, I could not remember any region for my origins. With nothing really smart to say coming up inside of my big head, I quickly decided to half-lie to my new house mate.

"Uh, I'm a... Sprigatito, and I'm from the uh... south.. east."

This time, the Meowstic didn't buy it.

"That's... not true," the Meowstic frowned. "I've lived in Sinnoh for as long as I remember, and I've travelled all over the region. I've never seen anything like you before."

A feeling of guilt washed over me. I didn't like the pressure I was forced upon, but I honestly didn't know what to say. Looking at the Meowstic's face, he looked simply betrayed, and I hated to see anybody like that. I quickly tried to refute my answer.

"No, no. I meant I was born southeast of Sinnoh. I uh... forgot the name of the place, but it's far away from here."

Frank seemed indifferent to my answer. He seemed smarter than I thought. My first interactions with him made me think he was a little naïve, but he may also be a bit mercurial. Still, he clearly was smart enough to see right through me. Looking towards him, it was hard to believe I was speaking to what was essentially an animal.

I hated this feeling though. I didn't like having a guilt ridden conscious, even from such a minor incident. The stomach cramps started to make me feel a little nauseous. Defeated, I let out a sigh.

"I'm sorry. I-I... don't want you to think of me like that..."

It was the truth. I didn't already want to be on the bad side of one of the first... uh, "organisms" that I've come across in this world. I was scared about my future, and I needed all the support I could get.

The Meowstic thankfully had yet another mood change; this time of sincerity.

"Don't worry. I'm sorry for not accepting your answer."

Frank leaned into me a little bit. I unconsciously curled myself around my tail.

"Are you scared of me?" the Meowstic asked.

"I-I," sighing again, "I'm scared. Not of you, but the world. This is all new to me."

"Why?" the Meowstic asked again. "That necklace you have; Did you have another owner?"

It was hard to hear that kind of question, and I couldn't help but cringe. I knew going into this house meant I'd technically be under somebody's ownership, but I still hadn't fully grasped the fact that I could be looked upon as somebody's pet. Frank sounded very accepting of the concept, but I just wasn't ready.

Before I could think of a response, both our ears perked up as we heard soft footstep climbing up the stairs behind us. A couple seconds later, Anthony was staring us down.

"Sorry to bother you guys," he smiled. "How are you Frank?

Frank looked ecstatic to see Anthony, and as if on queue, he ran up to Anthony and jumped into his arms.

I didn't bother moving though. As I had said to myself before hand, I couldn't really grasp the concept of becoming a "pet", but Frank certainly didn't seem opposed to it. Still though, I had a bit of a sadness creep into my head.

Was I going to be cared about?

I couldn't remember anything about myself, but... something seemed... unfamiliar. I felt as if I had nothing to worry about, but that made me worry regardless. Why did this sudden feeling of "care" hit me so hard? It felt like a foreign concept, but, I knew deep down, I had somebody who looked after me before.

...right?

In my thoughts, I was brought back to reality by Anthony's foot stepping right next to me. It gave me such a fright again knowing just how small I really was now, and these constant reminders weren't making me feel any better about it.

Anthony kneeled down to pick me up. At first I tried to resist, but his touch was gentle, and it made it hard to warrant such a reaction. I knew Anthony wasn't going to hurt me, and I should just let it happen.

Looking up at his face, he again smiled towards me. It was hard to explain, but Anthony's face looked wrong in that position. It felt like it should have been upside down. Looking towards him in detail, it was really hard for me to imagine him smiling. I wasn't sure why, but it felt very familiar to me, in fact, it almost felt like me.

That creeping feeling came back to me. These thoughts were at the forefront of my attention. It felt like it meant something. I had seen Anthony smile before at the hospital, but this felt different. Did Anthony have some sort of relationship to me?

Still though, with myself curled up in Anthony's arms, it was hard to deny the comfort. It was as if focusing on that washed all of the negative feelings away. Was I overthinking my situation? Looking at how his relationship seemed to be with Frank, who was now walking back to his little home in the corner of the room, I had seemingly no reason to worry. If anybody was going to be there for me to help me figure out my situation, it would be him.

"Come on," Anthony whispered. "Let's go back to my room."

The walk back through the greenhouse was a welcome one. The plant life inside brought a sense of security to me, even ignoring the glass windows surrounding the room. The smells had still not left the place and most likely never would. Anthony's smiled never faded walking through the room.

The sun was already set this point, with the clear crescent moonlight shining through the greenhouse. With our location feeling so isolated, it was no wonder that the stars were shinning bright in the night sky. It looked quite cool outside, and I could see the grass outside blowing around with a small breeze.

Looking towards the window though, there was very little glare, and it was easy to see my reflection as we walked close to the windows on the way out of the greenhouse. I still saw the reflection of a cat. With a small sigh, I looked back towards the doorway we were heading towards to avoid the windows. It was hard for me to accept the truth of my life now, but the more I worried about it, the more I knew it would hurt me in the end.

Anthony's smile faded when we made it back into the living room. It was depressing to see this room when compared to the greenhouse. it felt too empty, with just enough surroundings to not go stir crazy. The smile returned though when looking towards me. Something about my presence made him feel better, and I couldn't help but smile at that.

Anthony giggled, put off by my cuteness. I always had that up my sleeve it seemed. He placed me down onto the bed and quickly switched into his nightwear from a drawer underneath the bed. He then swiftly hopped into the bed himself. Before falling down onto his pillow however, he patted beside himself on the mattress.

This was it, this was my life right now. I didn't feel ashamed this time though. It felt somewhat... right this time. Walking up to him, I decided to nuzzle his face before curling up beside him.

"Good night, Bud."

"Good night, Anthony"
