City of Vale, Emerald Forest

"WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO US?!" Sora exclaimed as he flew through the sky, seeing team RWBY ahead of them as Team Keybladers were flying right behind them.

"Better figure out how to land!" Yang told the group as she was behind, before using her weapon the bounce through the air. The team watched as they saw each of the girls were making their descent into the forest below, using either their Semblances or their weapons to land safely to the ground.

"Guys, think of what you can use to land safely!" Kirito shouted, before activating his Airstepping, seeing a series of tree branches ahead of him, and shooting towards them, allowing him to reach the ground safely.

"Soul Burst! Pyra & Mythra!" Asuna shouted, summoning the power of the Aegis, bringing out Pyra's sword. She then did a spin as she roared, "Prominence Revolt!" She channeled her weapon's momentum, and brought herself down to the ground in a fiery explosion. She sighed in relief as she muttered, "I'm lucky that worked..."

"Hold on, Candy!" Sora called to the Lost Princess clinging to his shoulder.

"I wasn't doing anything else, kuru!" Candy exclaimed.

Sora summoned out his Favorite Deputy Keyblade, transforming the weapon into its Drill Punch form, and drilled straight through the trees, before reaching the ground, drilling through it, before surfacing back up again, landing safely just like the others. "How's that for a landing strategy?!" Sora declared.

Yui used her Tornado spells a couple times, bouncing through the air as she slowed herself down to the ground before switching to her Keyblade momentarily, grabbed a branch underneath the teeth of her blade, spinning around a few times, before coming to a halt, slightly dizzy, before falling to the ground in a sitting position.

Goofy had his shield forward in both hands, bashing through a couple trees with the speed he was going, before one more bash sent him flipping through the air, until he landed on a half-fallen tree, sliding down it on his shield, reaching the ground, sliding all around the forest, bouncing off trees, before coming to a halt. He got back up, shaking himself from the fall, and calling out, "Hey, I'm okay, over here!"

Sora heard Donald's cry in the sky. He looked up to see him flying in the air, out of control, and by the looks of it, no landing strategy in his head. "I got you!" Sora shouted, jumping up the tree branches, getting close to where Donald was flying, and activated the grappling claw function on his Drill Punch, shooting it from its tether cord, grabbing Donald, and yanking him back towards him, grabbing him with his free hand at the ankle. They fell to the ground, and Sora managed to land on his feet, holding Donald upside down.

"See? I got you." Sora told him.

"Put me down! Put me down!" Donald exclaimed angrily, shaking himself out of Sora's grip, causing him to fall head-first into the ground. He got back up, looking irritated at his less than graceful landing.

"Are you okay, Donald, kuru?" Candy asked.

"Sorry..." Sora apologized. As Donald started muttering under his breath, Sora looked about, wondering where everyone else was at. They all were able to make it to the ground, but as for staying together, that was a different story. "C'mon. Let's go find the others." he told the team, and the trio raced through the forest, trying to find their friends.

Music intro

(Rushing through black darkness, glittering shards of light pass by. As music starts, the three main Keyblades suddenly shoot forward like shooting stars, circling around from a distance, then crossing one another, shining brightly, forming the logo of the series.)

I'm trying to understand it but it's making me numb

(Left half of Sora's serious face, the other half hidden by the teeth of his Kingdom Key.)

This swirl of karma leaving such a bitter taste on my tongue

(Right half of Asuna's determined face, the other half hidden by the Lambent Light's teeth.)

'Cause I know the pain and sorrow, it has only begun

(The upper half of Kirito's face, with glaring eyes, the lower half hidden by the Elucidator's teeth.)

Who-o-oa, Who-o-oa, Who-o-oa

(Flashing through the faces of each hero; Donald, Goofy, Yui, Mickey, Riku, Leafa, Kairi, Axel, and Kayaba.)

Now I'm surrounded by my enemies, but luck's on my side

(In the dusty fields of the Keyblade Graveyard, the camera pans around the circle of the six main heroes as they ready their weapons.)

So I shatter through the walls and change the course of the tide

(In the same field, the camera pans the opposite way around the six other heroes as they ready their weapons.)

Can't stop this surging fate like a volcano set to break, Take a breath until you're set to

(Allies of the multiple worlds they will or have visited pan across the screen, finally ending with the silhouettes of the four Lost Princesses of heart, with the one in the center opening her hands to reveal a bright light.)

face that voice of fear. That god of death that's always looking down on you

(Philia stands on a lone green hill, staring at a card with the picture of Castle Oblivion on it. She feels a hand behind her, and looks to see Flair and Hinata standing behind her, giving assuring smiles, with Tinkerbell coming out of her pocket, and Samson giving a thumbs up.)

"Do you believe yourself?" I won't stop til I've won

(Maleficent and Dr. Temna stand together, with Pete and Tears next to them, and a swarm of Heartless and shadowed foes ready to strike.)

A glimpse of that bright future that's just begun!

(Xehanort's maliciously smirking face appears, as he and fifteen others float together in a circle. Screen splits in half as half of Heartless Oberon and Gouxus take the screen, their eyes shining from yellow to violet.)

Shining like a diamond, The emotions in your heart reflect like crystal

(The six heroes team up together, taking down Heartless, Nobodies and Unversed that come across their path with their weapons, skills and magic.)

As we vow an oath that will ignite your light and mine - And we will rise!

(A Demon Tower nearly falls on top of the six, but they get away, with Kirito, Asuna and Sora in the air, performing Soul Bursts and Keyblade transformation, creating Cloud's Buster Sword, Asuna's SAO Lambent Light, and Sora's twin guns, unleashing a sword beam, ice spears, and magic shots as one.)

So many times I've gotten back on my feet to make it to this moment

(A group of dark energy orbs shoots down the trio from a cliff above, hitting them into the ground. The attack comes from Xehanort, Heartless Oberon, and Gouxus.)

It's time our prayer that's waiting in the dark. Is set free so light the spark and let it shine!

(Sora, Asuna and Kirito get back up on their feet, shaking off their injuries, and raising their Keyblades as they charge forward, beams of sunlight shining upon each of them as they all take a leap at the Organization XVI, with their friends, the other heroes, including Roxas, Xion, Recon, Terra, Aqua and Ven, joining them from behind.)

"Guys!" Sora shouted, walking through the woods with Donald and Candy, "Kirito! Asuna! Goofy! Yui! Anybody there?!"

"We got separated that far, kuru?" Candy asked Donald.

"I dunno." Donald shrugged it off, "Let's keep looking for that Torchwick guy and put a stop to him!"

"Not without getting the others." Sora answered, "We gotta work together in order to beat him, Donald. Remember what we were talking about last night."

"I remember!" Donald answered strongly, though he looked like he was still wanted to achieve a victory with his own merits. Sora and Candy could see this, and the former sighed, wondering if his friend learned anything.

"Sora, is that you?!" cried out a familiar voice.

"That sounded like Ruby, kuru!" Candy recognized.

"Come on!" Sora told the two, and they ran through the forest to reach where the voice came from. A few seconds later, they arrived at a narrow pathway in the woods, where Ruby was at, along with Weiss.

"Seems like you guys arrived safely, at least." Weiss noted, seeing the three of them intact.

"You could've warned us about that!" Sora argued.

"We kinda did..." Ruby answered.

"We did tell you guys to prepare to make a landing strategy." Weiss said 'matter of fact'-like.

"Yeah...well, it was still a shock." Sora stated.

"Where is everybody else?" Donald asked.

"We all got separated from being sent into here." Weiss pointed out, pulling out her scroll, "We should be able to contact them from here."

"I'll call Yang." Ruby told Weiss, "You call for Blake."

"Cool. I'll see if Kirito or Asuna are picking up." Sora stated, pulling out his Gummiphone, connecting with the crystals they had.

In another area, Asuna had just gathered herself together, dismissing her Soul Burst before she used up any unnecessary energy, and had reunited with Goofy. "Gawrsh, I wonder where everyone else landed at?" Goofy asked.

"I'm not sure about everyone else, but I think Yui was flown into this direction." Asuna recalled, seeing the direction her daughter flew off to before she did her own landing strategy, "I just hope nothing has happened to her. I'm so worried every time she is away from me in a different world like this."

"Oh, don't ya worry, Asuna. Yui's pretty brave." Goofy assured her, "Plus, she's tough like her folks." He gave a small chuckle in response to this.

"Thanks, Goofy." she answered, smiling back at him, "You're right. She's become stronger, and independent. I know she can do fine for a time."

Just then, they heard the sound of fighting ahead of them, complete with gusts of wind and gunfire, getting their attention. They immediately raced to the scene, and saw Yui and Blake together, fighting off what looked like the same Beowulf Heartless they encountered in the city before.

"Yui! Blake!" Asuna shouted, with her and Goofy joining their side.

"Mama!" Yui greeted.

"You made it!" Blake stated.

"Yeah, and in time, too." Asuna looked at the situation, "Let's go!"

The four went to work on the swarm of Heartless-Grimm Dark Hybrids, working together with the cat faunus as they cleared the field. Asuna unleashed Pyra & Mythra's Soul Burst again, unleashing the power of fire and light-element attacks on her opponents. Meanwhile, Yui activated her Second Form, and started swinging her giant deletion sword around, striking out the enemies about her. When it was all clear, the four gathered together again.

"Thanks." Blake thanked Asuna, sheathing her blade behind her back, "Those Grimm-Heartless were a lot tougher and more violent than normal Grimm."

"But if they are around here, that means we're on the right track." Yui pointed out, "Tears, Torchwick, and Pete must be in these woods."

"You're right. The Dark Hybrids are Tears' work, after all." Asuna noted.

"Then let's not waste any time." Blake told them, sheathing her weapon, and walking into the direction towards the ruins, "We have to find them before they do something else." Asuna nodded in understanding, and they followed her through the forest.

"Gee, is it just me, or is Blake a little rushed?" Goofy asked Yui.

"It is important. She's probably trying to get it done quickly." she answered, "Papa is like that, too."

"I wonder if it's a black-colored thing?" Asuna muttered to herself, hearing the two's conversation.

Just then, Blake's scroll rang, as Asuna's crystal ball emanated with energy, and they pulled them out, getting Weiss and Sora's faces.

"Blake, where are you?" Weiss called out.

"Asuna, you doing okay?" Sora asked.

"We're fine." she answered, "Yui and Goofy are with me."

"We're on route to the ruins." Blake informed, "We'll meet you there as quickly as possible.

"I'll tell Ruby that. She's contacting Yang." Weiss answered.

"Candy and Donald are with our group, as well." Sora noted, showing on the crystal ball the two behind him, along with Ruby and Weiss in the background.

"Guess that leaves Kirito and Yang." Asuna understood, before adding, "Do you think they found each other."

"Yeah, they're together!" Ruby called out, after getting a conversation with her sister, "They're making their way to the ruins, like the rest of us."

"Then we'll reconvene there." Sora decided, looking from Ruby to Asuna, "We'll see you there."

"Right. See you." Asuna answered as Blake hung up her scroll, and kept walking. Asuna put the crystal ball away, and called out, "Wait for us, Blake!"

"We don't have time to wait." she answered, "We already rested last night. Now it's time to stop Torchwick and the White Fang before they do anything worse!"

Asuna saw her expression, and only now noticed something about her; there were bags around her eyes.

"DID you get any sleep?" Asuna asked. Blake didn't answer, but continue on. This left Asuna worried about the cat faunus, and the trio followed her from behind.

"Looks like everyone is gathered together in two other groups." Kirito understood, watching Yang put her scroll away.

"And that leaves you and me alone." Yang stated, "Come on. I know the way to the ruins."

"Lead the way." he told her, and they departed through the forest, like everyone else was.

They ended up coming into a couple groups of Heartless, Grimm, and the hybrids. However, thanks to their battle-hardened abilities, they were able to take them out together. Kirito even decided to test out his new Soul Burst: Deku, testing the skills of the young hero. His Keyblade transformed into the gloves that Deku wore, and he could utilize the Quirk that he wielded. It was rather powerful, requiring Kirito to be able to control the strength of his moves. He also utilized the punches and kicks, including his gloves that shot air bullets at his opponents.

"You're pretty good, Kirito." Yang commended his skills, "I only wished I fought this version of you back at the club."

"I have a stronger hand-to-hand Soul Burst than this, but I need to learn to utilize this form, too." Kirito told her, raising one of his gloves, before dismissing the Soul Burst, reverting back to his Keyblade.

"By the way, what is up with that Semblance of yours?" Yang asked, curious about his power, "It's so versatile and all over the place."

"Well...that's a bit complicated." Kirito answered, trying explain within world order levels as they begun walking towards the ruins once again, "You can say it's a mixture of my own power, and using the power of strong people I formed a bond with."

"People you formed bonds with?" Yang asked.

"Yeah. Sora would often say 'my friends are my power'." Kirito quoted, "Well, we take that literally."

"That's pretty handy." Yang stated, "You don't think there's any chance you can use my power?"

"Use your's?" Kirito echoed.

"Sure. I would like to see that." Yang stated.

"I dunno..." Kirito muttered, getting a look from Yang, "Don't get me wrong. That would be awesome to use those gauntlets of yours. But I also have two other fist-fighters I can utilize. Plus, I don't know if it is a rule for a guy like me to form a Soul Pact with a girl."

"How does that matter?" Yang asked, stopping to look at him, "I mean, can't you form those bonds you talk about with the opposite gender from you?"

Kirito stopped to think about that. He could agree that what she said wasn't a problem. It didn't feel like it should be impossible for him. But...it would feel awkward to have a girl settling inside his heart like that. Sure, he had a lot of friends who were girls like Liz, Silica, and Sinon, but he hadn't formed Soul Pacts with them. This felt different. It didn't feel completely right when it wasn't someone like Asuna. And speaking of her, would she have a problem with that?

"Guess I got you thinking too hard about it." Yang poked fun at him, "Come on, let's catch up with the others!"

She raced ahead, with Kirito calling out, "Wait for me!", pursuing her from behind.

Meanwhile...

Inside the ruins, Tears, Torchwick, Pete, and Neo were watching the monitor together, seeing the three teams getting closer to the ruins. "So, got a plan for these little groups?" Torchwick asked Tears, "Or are we inviting them to see the pet projects you were making?"

"And miss the opportunity to weaken their hearts before they get snuffed out? Hardly." she replied, walking past him and going to Neo, "I think we should toy with them a bit longer. Though, maybe I would like one of the groups to get here quicker so we can take care of all the important lights and destroy them before the others arrive. Fortunately, I have a good way to deal with the others."

"That's why you called...him?" Pete asked, looking a bit scared.

"Oh, yes. I learned a little something about one of our Keyblade wielders." Tears answered, specifically looking at Asuna, "If the light thinks they are fearless, then I'll bestow that fear into them."

"I see..." Torchwick understood, looking to her, before giving a mischievous smirk, "I like the way you're thinking there, Tears. So long as we can teach these 'heroes' a thing or two about what they are really getting into."

"Gee, that's all good n' all, but how you gonna get them to where you want them to go?" Pete asked.

Tears looked to Neo, smirking as she answered, "With a little bit of trickery." Neo looked back her, already telling she was gonna be interested in what her plan was.

Team Asuna

Despite the couple of waves of Heartless and Grimm that got in their way, Blake was relentless in pushing forward with the assault. However, her movements were sloppier than normal, indicated by her exhaustion, which Asuna noticed. It took her, Goofy, and Yui to bail her out from getting taken out by the enemy monsters.

"Blake, let's take a break." Asuna told her, after clearing the next wave, "You're clearly not alright."

"I'm fine." Blake answered, sheathing her weapon again, before continuing onward.

Asuna dashed in front, and got in her way. "Okay, enough!" she stopped her, "You are barely able to hold your own in a fight right now. If you don't stop and rest for a bit-"

"We don't have TIME to rest!" Blake argued, "If I don't finish them here, we won't stop them in time when they make their next move!"

"In your state, you're barely able to do anything to stop them!" Asuna argued, while Goofy and Yui looked to Blake with worry, "Do you want to wear yourself down and be a burden to everyone?"

"I am not a burden!" Blake argued, "I just don't have the luxury to slow down! I won't stop until Torchwick and the White Fang are stopped!"

Asuna thought for a moment, recalling something from her past, before saying, "You think every moment wasted is a moment you'll lose in your life. That until you don't get the problem taken care of, until you are able to save as many lives as possible, you can't rest easy, right?"

"Yes! Exactly!" Blake answered, "So if you know what I am feeling, then please-!"

"And that's EXACTLY why you need to rest!" Asuna argued harshly, digging into her bag, and pulling out a sandwich. She forced it into Blake's hands, saying, "Take a sit, and eat that. You're really exhausted, so at least get something to eat to rejuvenate your strength."

Blake looked to the sandwich, almost tempted to throw it away. However, she didn't exactly want to do that to her new friend. Instead, she opened up the sandwich wrapping, looking at it, before looking at Asuna. "You really want me to eat, right now?" she asked, "But we need to find Torch-!"

"Come here!" Asuna intervened, grabbing her by the arm, and dragging her to a fallen tree, and pushed her to sit on it. Once she was done, she dug into her bag, and pulled out three more sandwiches, handing two to Yui and Goofy. "Here. let's take a break." she told them, "Sora, Kirito, and the others will get a head start, but we'll catch up afterwards."

"But, I-." Blake started, but was abruptly stopped when Asuna said, "Eat. I need to tell you a story." Blake looked very prickly about it, but decided to take a bite into the sandwich.

"Gawrsh, this sure is yummy." Goofy stated happily.

"Mama's sandwiches are the best!" Yui agreed.

Asuna looked at the two with a pleasant smile, before starting, "A few years back, Kirito and I were trapped in a place with a lot of people, where our lives were constantly on the line, and we couldn't escape until we cleared the place. I...can't really tell you about it, but back then, I barely knew how to use a weapon. However, because I wanted to go home so badly, I trained as hard as I could, until I became second-in-command of a group called 'Knights of the Blood Oath'." Asuna took a bite of her sandwich. Blake didn't ask anything about this, but waited for her to continue

"I could barely rest easy during that time." the SAO survivor continued, "I pushed myself and others around me pretty hard because I wanted to return home. I wanted to get back to my normal life as soon as possible. But then I saw this boy, just lying in the grass, taking it easy, noting how good the weather was. I got so angry with him, and told him, 'Every day we spend her is a day lost in our old lives.' To which he responded, 'Yeah, but right now, we're alive here.' In the end, I ended up laying on the grass, and fell asleep. It was the best sleep I had in a long while. Turns out, I learned something important that day. Sure, things may be tough around you, but you still have to take a moment to rest up and take it easy. It's important to do that for yourself."

"Asuna, I don't exactly know what you have been through, but I get the message you are trying to tell me." Blake responded, "But this is different. We don't have the luxury to-."

"Resting is not a LUXURY. It is a NECESSITY!" Asuna argued, "Not only for a physical reason, but your heart. Because of the rest Kirito gave me, I was able to do more and fight better than ever. If you don't take the necessary time to rest, you won't be able to stop anyone, let alone Torchwick, the White Fang, or Tears!" Blake looked like she was about to make a counterargument, but Asuna continued, "And you are not alone in stopping them, either. Your team is also there for you, and us. We have to rely on one another, but we can't push ourselves so hard that we end up a burden!"

Blake looked at her sandwich, realizing she had only taken the one bite out of it. She then saw Asuna's hand on her wrist, and she looked at her. "Everyone is counting on all of us to fight at full strength." she told her, "Let's eat and sit here for a second. Everyone else will get a head start, but we'll catch up."

The cat faunus paused for a second, then sighed as she answered, "Okay, fine. But after we eat, we're going."

"Better savor it, then." Asuna giggled. Goofy placed his hands over his mouth, as he already scarfed down his portion. Yui giggled at his expression, still having her sandwich. Together, they continued to eat.

Kirito & Yang

The two fighters ended up at a set of ruins, which mainly involved a circular area, with many plinths on it.

"Hey, this brings back memories." Yang stated, "This is where Team RWBY was officially formed! Along with Team JNPR."

"How did that come about?" Kirito asked.

"Oh, we were given our initiation here by pairing up with the first person we met when we landed in the forest, make it to the ruins, and grab the relic. Those with matching relics become a team of four."

"So that's how teams are formed in this school?" Kirito asked, looking at the ruins, "Guess that's one way to do it."

Just then, a portal started to form in the center of the ruins, causing the pair to get hesitant. It was a dark portal.

"Whoa! That wasn't there before!" Yang stated.

Kirito recognized it, and said, "Bet that's there way of saying, 'Come into our spider's parlor.' A definite trap."

"Yeah, well, we can take down any trap." Yang answered, punching her fists together, "I'm not afraid to deal with whatever they got."

"We're not sure what will happen, but we don't have time to waste." Kirito told her, "Everybody else might've already fallen in, or they might still be arriving."

"Let's just get moving." Yang told Kirito, and she jumped ahead, running to the portal. Kirito followed shortly behind, and they leapt into it, the portal closing behind them.

Several seconds later, the two landed on the ground in a dimly-lit open room. They immediately got familiar with their surroundings as they straighten themselves up, looking about. "Nothing seems out of the ordinary." Kirito noticed.

"Except this room we'd fallen into." Yang noted, "Where are we?"

"Dunno. But watch yourself." the black swordsman answered.

"Yeah, yeah..." Yang replied in a blasé tone.

(Insert 'GET READY' of Tribe Cool Crew OST)

Suddenly, music started to play in the area, causing the pair to look about. "Wait, what?" Yang asked.

"This music..." Kirito recognized, until they looked to the area ahead of them, and saw a trio of Heartless, with spotlights on top of them. "High Crowds!" Kirito recognized.

Suddenly, they started to dance, unleashing their dark waves of energy at the pair, reverberating around the room. Their legs buckled as Kirito and Yang endured the waves.

"What's going on?!" Yang demanded, "They're dancing and producing music?! And why does it make me feel nauseous!"

"That's just the power of the High Crowds!" Kirito answered, "And in an enclosed space like this, their waves are much tougher to deal with!"

Yang growled, before shooting herself at the Heartless with her Ember Celica's, shouting, "Knock it off!" The High Crowds stomped the ground, sending a shockwave that sent her flying backwards again, crashing next to Kirito.

"A head-on brawl will not do anything!" he told her, "And neither do projectiles!"

"You could've told me that!" Yang answered, struggling to get back up with the waves around her.

Elsewhere...

Neo watched Yang and Kirito struggle, with a small smile forming on her face. Pete guffawed at their struggle, saying, "That'll give them meatheads a tough time! Now we's just wait for the rest of them chumps to get trapped like them."

"Unfortunately, the one party I was looking forward to is at a standstill." Tears stated, walking up to see the monitor with Asuna and Blake's team eating their meal, "I can't just let this stand. So I'll wait for them to do just that. Then all problems solved."

"That just leaves Little Red and ice queen's group to deal with." Torchwick stated, looking at the monitors, "Where did they go, anyways?" Neo suddenly pointed to a monitor in the corner with her umbrella, and they looked to see the five heroes arriving at a different part of the ruins, with a flight of stairs that led down into the ground.

"Wait... That's a pathway to our hideout!" Pete recognized, "How did those bozos get here?!"

"Unbelievable." Torchwick stated, seeing Ruby's expression of curiosity, "That Red is getting to be a real pain. Well, too bad they aren't aware of what REALLY lies down here, courtesy of you, Tears. This will be the perfect opportunity to test them out."

"It's a way to see how much darkness can the Grimm produce when merged with the Heartless." Tears stated, stepping away from the group, and walking off.

"Where are you off to?" Torchwick asked her.

"Making sure my subordinate's fun can happen." she answered, smirking in response, before walking off.

Asuna & Blake's team

Once Blake finished off her sandwich and sat down for a bit, she and Asuna stood back up as Yui and Goofy readied themselves. "Okay. We're a little more rested. Let's catch up with the others."

"Right." Blake answered.

They were just about to set out when Yui and Goofy panicked. A black portal suddenly opened up underneath them, causing the pair to fall through.

"Yui! Goofy!" Asuna cried out.

"Where did that come from?!" Blake demanded.

"I don't know, but it's like a Corridor of Darkness." Asuna compared, "We have to follow them!" She jumped into the portal. Blake was startled at her sudden daring at the unknown, but followed right after her.

A few seconds later, the two girls landed in a room similar to the one Kirito and Yang fell into. They straightened themselves out as they saw Goofy and Yui getting back up, looking about.

"You okay?" Asuna asked her daughter and friend.

"Don't worry about us, mama." Yui answered.

"Gawrsh, where did we end up?" Goofy asked, massaging his head.

Blake's cat ears suddenly perked up, and she looked about, saying, "Guys, watch it. Someone's in here." The four readied their weapons to fight, standing back to back with one another.

Suddenly, ominous purple lighting started to glow about. With it came a sinister cackling, echoing around the room as something spherical-looking character's shadow started to pass by the lights. They could see the figure's shadow going from one light to another. Asuna saw the appearance, and started to panic a little. If the shadow's appearance was anything to go by, it was something she didn't want to face whatsoever. After several seconds of this, the light vanished, and all they could hear was the cackling the the character.

Blake could feel Asuna shiver, and looked behind her to see her with a petrified look on her face. "Asuna?" she asked. Yui and Goofy looked at her with worry, as they could tell what would terrify her this way. Sure enough, a big purple light shone in front of Asuna, and with it, the character that they saw. It was a ghost. A big, white-bodied ghost with stubby arms, reverse arc eyes and purple glowing pupils, fanged upper teeth, and a long purple tongue sticking out. It also had a gold crown with a purple energy-glowing gem embedded on top of it.

Asuna screamed, and collapsed backwards into a sitting position, startling Blake as Goofy and Yui ran around her to face the enemy. "Mwa ha ha ha! What a sight to behold!" the ghost cackled, "What do we have here? A quartet of fresh faces ready to be framed. And look; One of you is absolutely terrified to meet me. Even more so than Luigi back home. How amusing!"

"A ghost?!" Goofy exclaimed, looking a bit shaken by the sight of it.

"Who are you?!" Blake demanded.

"Why I am the great and powerful King Boo!" the ghost introduced himself, "And as for you four, Tears gave me special permission to take good care of all of you! And I can't think of a better way to take care of you all by making you my newest paintings in my throne room!"

"Newest paintings?" Blake asked.

King Boo waved one of its hands, and summoned a slightly larger than human-sized picture frame, the interior being a swirling energy. "You shall become a new work of art... FOREVER!"

Asuna was still petrified as she sat there, with Goofy and Blake backing away from the sight of the picture frame, while Yui stood there with her mother. It was being tilted back, and Yui, seeing the frame, felt how he would use it to attack. She turned as she summoned her tessen, unleashing a Whirlwind that blew her back, getting her out of the way just in time. King Boo slammed the frame down onto Yui, while Asuna came to a halt, looking to see what happened.

"Yui!" Asuna shouted in fear.

King Boo cackled, lifting up the picture frame. No longer was there energy, but instead a picture of Yui, looking frightened as she was still-framed, her hands pressed in front of her.

"Yui!" Goofy shouted.

"She been turned into a picture?!" Blake questioned, "How can he do that?!"

"You'll find out soon enough!" King Boo cackled, "For you will be joining with her!" He cackled once again, while Asuna's fists curled.

Sora & Ruby's team

The door slid open to the underground ruins, with Sora, Ruby, Weiss, Donald, and Candy staring within.

"I had no idea there was something like this in here." Weiss noted, "I wonder if Professor Ozpin knew about this being here."

"And we only found it by getting lost to the actual ruins, kuru." Candy noted.

"See? I told you everything would work out!" Ruby promptly proclaimed.

"When did you say that?" Donald asked, which Ruby had no answer. She didn't really say anything about things working out in the first place.

"This has to be where Torchwick, Tears, and the others are, right?" Sora asked, "I just hope everyone else made it here, too. Let's go!"

"Okay, team. Let's go!" Ruby declared, and the team raced into the ruins.

The ruins themselves were old, with wide open spaces that contained different levels to reach other parts of the ruins. And with it, regular and Cyber Heartless were there to ambush them, and they had to fight back hard together in order to clear them. Donald was now becoming more of a team player, but it didn't cause him to stop trying to unleash the final attacks on opponents. He had to be bailed out a couple times by the others, which made him frustrated.

"Donald, you forgot what Kirito said, didn't you?" Sora asked after they cleared another group, "You don't need to get upfront like that to finish them off!"

"I know what he said!" Donald answered, "Can you get off my tail?!"

"Well, you're certainly throwing off our coordination in combat." Weiss huffed, "You are completely reckless, undisciplined, and you constantly try to show off! You're just like Ruby when I first met her."

"Hey, I wasn't really THAT bad…was I?" Ruby asked.

"You ended up causing us to fly on the back of a Nevermore." She argued, "And you tried to fight it one-on-one, along with a Death Stalker, just to prove yourself. You would've been dead if I hadn't stepped in."

"Okay…fair." Ruby admitted, giving a shamed grin in response to this.

"My point being that you are acting like her then; trying to prove you can be useful, when you are fine just the way you are."

"She's right, Donald." Sora agreed, "You do the best you can at what you do, and it helps us all in the long run."

Donald thought about what they said. He really was trying too hard to prove he was better than what he was, but if he just stuck to being who he was, despite his flaws, was that okay, too?

"Guys, I'm getting a bad feeling up ahead, kuru!" Candy called out, and the team noticed she was a bit ahead of the team, "I can feel Tears is up ahead, as well, kuru."

"You can tell that?" Weiss asked.

Sora knew not to doubt Candy's words, and turned to everyone, saying, "Guys, be prepared."

"Yeah, let's do this!" Ruby agreed.

"Hold on. We should wait for the others." Weiss argued, "We might need their help."

"They'll catch up. I know they'll be here." Sora answered, "They're strong, and I know they won't let us down. So we can't let them down, either!"

Convincing Weiss with his words, Sora and Ruby led the other three down the hall towards the path ahead, where their enemies were surely waiting for them.

Kirito & Yang

The two fighters endured the waves of darkness the High Crowds were emitting, but Yang was taking it badly. She looked like she was about to explode with her anger. Kirito noticed this, and knew he had to act. This was gonna be his first time doing it without the others. The question was could he do it.

He raced in front of Yang, who stopped to look at him. He then concentrated and formed a circle of light with his feet, before his eyes analyzed the level of dance energy needed to stop the High Crowd.

"Yang, I'm just curious, but can you dance?" Kirito asked her.

"What does that have to do with the situation?!" She demanded.

"These Heartless are special. They can only be stopped if we can overpower their darkness with our light, and that's only through a dance battle. If more of us are able to dance, then we can surely overpower them. So are you able to dance?"

Yang thought it was weird, but replied, "Well, I have been known to get down on the dance floor. But are you sure we can actually beat them that way?"

"Trust me. I know we can." Kirito answered, looking at her, "So let's show them what we can both do!"

Yang had no other choice but to trust Kirito's words. It's not like they could do anything else. She nodded in agreement, and Kirito readied himself. He concentrated as he shouted, "Dance Stage On!" He stomped the ground, creating the dance field as his attire changed to his dance uniform.

Song: I Burn (Remix) by Casey Lee Williams

Stage: Junior's Bar dance floor.

Opening

(Kirito & Yang's black silhouettes were shown behind the large sliding door, with Yang's yellow hair the only other color popping. The doors slid open as they appeared together, walking onto the dance stage. "You start us off, Kirito!" Yang egged Kirito. "I'll show you how to it!" He answered, and he begun as the lyrics started)

Come at me and you'll see
I'm more than meets the eye
You think that you'll break me
You're gonna find in time

(Kirito starts to do his dual-wield breakdance style, using his subtle movements that were strong enough to match the mood and intensity of the music. His arm movements like he was unleashing swords while pivoting his feet about to match the rhythm of the music.)

You're standing too close to a flame that's burning
Hotter than the sun in the middle of July
Sending out your army but you still can't win
Listen up, silly boy, 'cause I'm gonna tell you why

(He started to break into traditional breakdancing movements, planting his hands on the ground as he twirled his feet and spun his body about, even doing a one-armed handstand. He started to do a spin that got more intense, until he used his elbow to push himself off the ground mid spin, spinning in the air.

I burn!
Can't hold me now
And you're not stopping me
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I will take you down

(He slammed down on his feet at the first 'I burn', creating a bronze shockwave with his dance energy, before going into his intense dancing, mixing in the traditional with his dual-wield variant of breakdancing, from slashing with his hands, to using the momentum of his slashes into spinning his legs and performing flips. He ended his movements by spinning onto his feet again, before unleashing a cross-slash with his hands.)

Ooo~

(Kirito bounced back as Yang stepped up next to him, saying, 'No too shabby. Color me impressed.' Kirito retaliated with, 'Think you can keep up?' 'Trust me. I'll hit things off with a Yang' she replied, stepping forward, shaking her arms, and readying her self to dance.)

Reign supreme? In your dreams
You'll never make me bow
Kick my ass? I'm world-class
And Super Saiyan now

(She started punching to the syllables of the first lines, before going into a dance that looked similar to moves you would find people doing in the dance club. However, she was mixing in her combat style movements into her dance.)

You're starting up a fight that you just can't finish
Watch the little hearts while they scrape you off the floor
Bringing out your rockets? Well shoot 'em up, baby
High as you can go, but I'm the one who's gonna soar

(Her dance got more intense as she started to unleash more intense, even adapting to Kirito's breakdancing, trying to pull off the movements he was doing, and doing it pretty well considering her nimbleness with her body. On the last line, she jumped into the air, twisting about with her fist at the ready.)

I burn!
Can't hold me now
And you're not stopping me
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I will take you down

(She slammed her fist into the dance stage at the first 'I burn', creating a flaming shockwave, before going into her intense dancing, unleashing her movements with the flaming ferocity like her free-spirited character. She ended her dance with a backflip and a fist pump as she grinned.)

It doesn't have to be this way
Let's kiss and make up, then you'll learn
You can fight your life away
I get what I want, so don't bother and just watch me burn

('Nice moves!' Kirito shouted, starting to dance around her as he performed his session, spinning and slashing around Yang before he got in front of her. 'Got the moves to keep up?' Yang asked as she intervened and leapt over Kirito, before dancing right to his side. 'Just make sure we dance in sync.' Kirito answered.)

(During the song break, Yang did her own moves at first, before letting Kirito have his moment to dance. They were making sure not to try and fight each other's dancing, but work together, letting each other shine. It transitioned into Kirito slashing and spinning until he went into a breakdance spin, while Yang stirred her body to his movements, before spinning on one foot as his spin got faster and faster, before they jumped up together, their feet and fists at the ready.)

I burn!
Can't hold me now
And you're not stopping me
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I will take you down
(x2)

(Kirito stomped and Yang punched the ground together at the first 'I burn', their two shockwaves mixing together as even the floor created a wave from their attack. They danced as one, either matching their movement, or synchronizing their individual movements, stopping at each 'I burn'. At the final moments, they came together, standing back-to-back, their hands raised high, before bringing them down and pointing ahead, their grins forming on their faces.)

Kirito gathered up the dance energy into his feet, and stomped it on the ground, sending the wave to the High Crowds, sweeping them off their feet, and making them disappear.

"Didn't expect us to beat you, did ya?" Yang asked, "We're more than just a couple of thrill-seekers."

"I was hesitant, at first. But you and I make a pretty good team." Kirito told Yang. Yang grinned as she raised her fist. Kirito could tell what she wanted, and fist bumped her, signalling their accomplishment.

Suddenly, a bright light emanated from Yang's chest, startling her as she backed off. "Woah! This is new!" Yang exclaimed.

"That light...it's a Soul Pact!" Kirito gasped. Yang felt the light come out of her, taking an orb form, before it flew right to Kirito, entering his body. "I already got one recently..." Kirito noted, mentioning Deku's Soul Burst, "Now I already got a new one. Soul Burst: Yang Xiao Long!" He raised his Keyblade up high, and the image of Yang appeared, brushing her hair with one hand before placing her hands on her hips, and she dove into his Keyblade, which ignited in flames. It then encircled his arms, forming Yang's weapons, the Ember Celica. flames then formed the ammo cartridges above him, and he caught them in his weapons, loading them up, and ready to fight.

"Hey! You really did end up getting my Soul Burst!" Yang pointed out, watching as Kirito looked to the new weapons.

"Guess I did." Kirito answered, lowering his arms, "Let's put them to good use, then." The two looked to the area behind where the Crowd High were, and saw a door that led out of the room. They had to push forward.

Asuna & Blake's team

King Boo cackled at his achievement, pulling Yui right behind him as Asuna struggled to get to her feet. Blake and Goofy prepared to fight, while Asuna focused deep within her heart. 'I can't fight this guy with my heart alone.' Asuna spoke up mentally, 'Lightning, Ellen. Please tell me one of you can help me with dealing with ghosts, so I can save my daughter!'

Deep in her heart, she heard Ellen answer, "Sorry, Asuna. I'm afraid to say that I also am terrified of ghosts and those yokai monsters, too."

"I don't have a problem with it." Lightning responded.

'Good!' Asuna responded, 'I can't contact Pyra & Mythra just yet. I don't know how afraid they are of ghosts, but I'll rely on you first.' She then shouted, "Soul Burst: Lightning Farron!" She summoned the power of Lightning to her Keyblade, transforming it into the Blazefire Saber. "And Soul Armament!" Asuna added, equipping on Lightning's Goddess of Etro armor. She concentrated as she felt her heart merging with Light's, and felt her courage flooding her heart.

She glared at King Boo, who looked curiously at her. He then made a menacing cackle and a face at Asuna. She flinched but raised her blade to him, saying, "You won't scare me. Now give me back my daughter!" She prepared for a fight as King Boo cackled, ready to fight as well.

King Boo backed off when Blake tried to make a slash at him, taking his picture with him, before unleashing lightning that rained down from where he floated at, striking Blake and electrifying her. She fell back as Goofy threw his shield, bashing King Boo in the face, before it bounced back towards him. Asuna jumped and used the shield as a jump platform to get in close and slashed the ghost with her blade. King Boo reacted to this by stretching its tongue out, and spun his body around, slapping Asuna and knocking her back.

King Boo then summoned out two large spiked balls down at the group. Blake, Goofy and Asuna dodged the balls, but they rolled about the area. One almost got to Asuna, but she dodged the rolling ball, and reacted. She got behind it, and smacked it with her weapon, sending it flying at King Boo, who couldn't react in time. It slammed him into the face, causing him to fly into the wall away from the picture of Yui, where he crumpled, dazed.

"Guys, distract Boo!" Asuna shouted to Blake and Goofy.

"Okay!" Blake answered, switching her weapon to her gun form, and shooting at the ghost as Goofy charged in and did an uppercut on him. Asuna, meanwhile, raced to Yui, already having a plan on what to do. With the power of the Keyblade within her weapon still available, she pointed the gunblade at the picture, and shot a beam of light at it. The moment it connected, the swirling energy it was emanating before reactivated again, and Yui popped out of the picture, collapsing onto the ground.

"Yui! Are you okay?!" Asuna asked, lowering down next to her.

"That was completely terrifying!" Yui responded, hugging herself in fear of what she experienced, "It felt like being back in Sword Art Online again; helpless and in the dark."

Asuna could tell that what she experienced deserved a hug, so she gave her one, pulling her up back onto her feet again. "It's okay, Yui. I have you. And thank you for protecting me, before." Her daughter nodded in gratefulness.

Just then, they heard King Boo's cackle, as it floated up and spun about, throwing Blake and Goofy off. "You will NOT get away that easily!" King Boo shouted, readying his empty canvas. Asuna and Yui readied to fight as Goofy and Blake got back up on their feet again, ready to continue the assault.

Sora & Ruby's Team

The team ran along the pathway ahead of them, until they reached an open room, where they found an open research lab. There was an open staircase that led up to a higher platform, where it had all four of their villains on top, standing in front of the computer system with multiple monitors. One either side, they had something that looked like large cylindrical containers, but they were in the dark, barely able to be seen. However, they had something in them. Large creatures with red and yellow eyes.

"Welcome, Little Red!" Torchwick greeted, "I see you finally made your way to the inner sanctum of our little science project."

Ruby readied her Crescent Rose as everyone else prepared to fight, demanding, "Roman Torchwick, what do you have planned here?!"

"You, too, Tears!" Sora called out, readying his weapon.

"Geez, no manners, whatsoever." Torchwick sighed, "You know, Little Red, I...that is to say, we..." He pointed at himself and Tears, "...came up with this little plan to deal with some pest control."

"Pest control, kuru?" Candy asked.

"That's right!" Pete answered, pointing down at the group, "We knew you chumps would come along and try to mess with us, but instead we're the ones messing with you!"

"We had some 'creations' in the making." Tears stated, "So what better way for a final test than to place them down on the very pests that have been getting in our way." She snapped her finger, and the lights in the room got brighter, showing what was in the containers on either side; large Heartless-Grimm Dark Hybrids.

One was a giant crow-like beast, its black plumage was mixed with dark blue and purple colors on the ends. It had an armored head, a sharp beak, and two sets of eyes; one red and one Heartless yellow. its claws and talons went from deep red to muddy silver, and looked quite sharp.

The other was a scorpion, with an exoskeleton that protected its body. The exoskeleton was a mixture of dark red and brown, with two sets of eyes that were the same as the other Dark Hybrid. Its claws looked heavy, more lobster claw-like than scorpion, with a bronze armor, a long tail that curved upwards, with a gold stinger.

"A Nevermore AND a Death Stalker?!" Weiss questioned.

"Correction..." Tears retorted, "These are Dark Hybrids of my creation; The Stymphallen (Author's Note: This is a combination of Stymphalien birds of Greek Mythology, which the Nevermore's abilities are compared to, and the middle name, Allen, of Edgar Allen Poe.), and the Buthidie." (Author's note: named based on the family the real life deathstalker scorpion, the Buthidae family, and the word 'die')

"You thought the Schnee weapon was a tough customer, try these out for size." Torchwick explained, walking over to the monitor, and pressing a button, "Although, I wonder how long you will last when you lack the rest of your friends." Suddenly, the two massive containers opened up, releasing the Heartless-Grimm onto the heroes. The Stymphallen spread its wings and shrieked at the group, while the Buthidie crawled out of its container, snapping its claws menacingly.

The five looked concerned at the two boss creatures they had to deal with. Pete raised his hands, and a barrier formed around their platform, preventing them from harm. "Time to see if this is enough darkness to squash the light in all of you?" Tears questioned.

"Um...we might need some backup this time around." Sora noted, the team readying their weapons.

"I'm in agreement with that." Weiss agreed. She then stabbed her weapon into the ground, creating a glacier at the Buthide. It reached its arms, and froze them in place. "For now, that will do." she told them, before turning their attention to the Stymphallen, who leapt out of its container, and took to the sky above the team.

"We just have to destroy this before we get to the other!" Ruby declared, and she and Sora jumped at the Grimm-Heartless hybrid. They swung their weapons at the Stymphallen, doing some damage to it. However, with a powerful screech, it send a shockwave that sent the two crashing back down to the ground.

"Sora-kuru! Ruby-kuru!" Candy cried, while Donald and Weiss shot Fire spells and ice shards via Glyphs to damage the bird. It saw the attack and flapped its wings, sending feathers shooting down like arrows, the gale from its flap also dissipating the long-ranged attacks. Donald and Weiss quickly evaded, while Candy countered an oncoming feather that aimed at the two leaders with a magic bomb, canceling it out.

Weiss regained herself, before hearing her ice shatter, and saw the Buthidie break free of the attack, before opening its claws, where Weiss saw glowing energy within the claws. She looked shocked, before getting nearly blasted by a heated laser that went along the ground, before erupting in flames afterwards. She tumbled along the ground, but regained herself, while looking back at the scorpion. "Oh, give me a break! Death Stalkers can't do that!" she exclaimed.

"They can with the power of Dark Hybrid." Tears noted, while everyone watched with amusement, "All of you are hopeless against them. Do us a favor, and stop putting up a-." Her sentence was cut off when suddenly, there was a pounding from one side of the room. Everyone's attention turned to a door on one side of the room, where they saw the heavy metal door shaking from something behind it getting pound down. After a few of these bangs, the door itself was struck, and knocked aside, and Kirito and Yang suddenly shot through, one of their Ember Celica fists to destroy the door, while the other projected themselves forward.

"Kirito!" Sora shouted, regaining himself.

"Yang!" Ruby cheered.

"No! How did they get past those dancing Heartless of yours?!" Torchwick demanded, turning to Pete.

"Hey, I didn't think those chumps would be able to dance them away!" Pete defended, "They were a lot tougher than I's thought!"

Yang and Kirito saw the scene before them, with the Buthidie right in front of them, and immediately reacted. Their feet touched the ground and they charged at the scorpion, pulling back their fists together, and slamming them hard into it. The kinetic energy and their momentum of the punches caused it to skid to one side, one side of its body to give way, and collapse. They stopped together, with Kirito's Soul Burst running out, reverting back to his Keyblade again.

"Sorry we're late!" Kirito called out, seeing the team and their enemy.

"Took you long enough!" Weiss snapped

"Hey, you try with the crazy dancing Heartless we were dealing with!" Yang answered, but grinning as she stated, "Then again, they were a lot of fun once we danced them off."

"Doesn't matter." Tears scoffed, getting the pair's attention, "Two more won't be enough to phase us. You have more than a third of your team not here. And your girlfriend is getting a fright of her life with what opponent she has to deal with. Odds are my ghostly subordinate will end her and your other friends."

Kirito already could tell what this meant from deciphering what Tears said. Seemed like she was aware of Asuna's fear of ghosts, and set one on her.

"Blake's not here, either!" Yang noticed, seeing who was missing.

"Neither is Goofy or Yui." Kirito stated.

"It'll be okay!" Ruby shouted to them, "Those guys can take care of themselves!"

"Right! Asuna has everyone else beside her!" Sora assured Kirito, "Let's focus on these Dark Hybrids."

Kirito was worried, but he nodded in understanding. When push comes to shove, Asuna could overcome anything. He had to have faith in her, and focus on the fight now. He saw the Buthidie turned to the pair, and they readied to fight it.

Sora, Ruby, Weiss, Donald, and Candy regained themselves, turning to the Stymphallen. "Candy, go help Kirito and Yang!" Sora told Candy, "We can take this!"

"You sure you don't need my help, kuru?" Candy asked.

"We'll be perfectly fine." Weiss answered.

"Besides, Kirito can unleash your Soul Release." Sora added, "Let the four of us handle things here!"

"You got it, kuru!" Candy declared, racing over to join Yang and Kirito against the Buthidie, while Sora, Ruby, Weiss, and Donald jumping at the Stymphallen.

Asuna & Blake's team

King Boo cackled as he raised his canvas, slamming it down onto the team. All four of them evaded the slamming canvas, with Blake turning around and send her weapon in kusarigama form, her elastic ribbon stretching out and slashing King Boo with it, followed by Goofy getting in close and doing an uppercut on him. He did a backflip and disappeared, reappearing by Asuna and Yui, who turned as Asuna unleashed Thunder spells onto him. However, the attack didn't do a whole lot.

'He must have a thunder resistance.' Asuna thought to herself, 'Lightning's Soul Burst was not a great pairing against this guy!' Realizing her Thunder-imbued attacks were not gonna do much, she had to take a risk. "Soul Armament!" Asuna shouted, switching her garments to Cure Beat's look, trying to make sure she utilized Lightning's courageous spirit from her Soul Burst. She got in close and unleashed the slashing power of her Blazefire Saber, slashing him with the Attack Boost her attire gave her.

"That's a different look." Blake noted Asuna's attire change, "Then again, Ruby and Weiss both fight in combat skirts, so..."

"Get off!" King Boo shouted with a menacing face, slapping Asuna away with his tongue, causing her to topple to the ground.

"Asuna!" Blake shouted, as she, Goofy, and Yui got close to her.

"Now it is your turn to be framed!" King Boo shouted, readying his canvas to slam onto Asuna. He was about to drop it, but got stopped by gunshots from Blake, followed by a Tornado attack from Yui.

"Stay away from mama!" Yui shouted.

"I am tired of you trying to intimidate her!" Blake growled, while Goofy got Asuna to her feet again.

King Boo only cackled as it summoned more lightning down onto the team. They evaded the lighting as best as they could, with Goofy getting struck once. However, he wasn't the target for the ghost. Blake used her Shadow to avoid any lightning attacks, getting away from the attacks. She charged at King Boo, throwing her weapon again in kusarigama form once more. King Boo produced a spike ball, and tossed it at Blake's thrown weapon, the weight difference causing it to get knocked back. She retracted her blade, and quickly evaded the spiked ball that nearly dropped on her. However, the direction she was flying towards was a mistake, as she noticed the magic canvas was right there. She couldn't evade with her Shadow Semblance in time, and got sucked into it.

"Blake!" Asuna, Goofy, and Yui shouted, seeing the magic in the frame settle, with Blake's petrified expression as she became a still-frame, just like Yui before.

"You'll be next!" King Boo growled, looking angrily at the trio, before unleashing a tongue slam that sent the trio flying in pain. Asuna landed on her feet, while Yui and Goofy were able to regain themselves later. Asuna charged in and shot her gun at King Boo, damaging him a bit, until she unleashed her Razor Gale technique, creating a buzzsaw blade with energy blades, slashing the ghost even more. Asuna jumped up and was ready to strike him when his guard was down. Suddenly, her Soul Burst ran out of energy, and her Saber reverted back to her Keyblade again. Without it, her fears resurfaced, and she fumbled in her next attack. King Boo saw this chance, and sent a spiked ball crashing into her, causing her to fly backwards, carried along with it, until it crushed her into the ground. She was on her back as it rolled off of her, heavily damaged by the attack.

"Asuna!" Yui and Goofy shouted, racing to her side, seeing how injured she was. They heard King Boo cackle, looking to see him with Blake's picture spinning around him.

"This is what I enjoy the most! That fear!" King Boo stated, "Your fear makes you fail at the most important moments, and you end up a complete mess because you let your fear take the better of you!"

"I'll get her back up on her feet." Goofy told Yui.

"Right. I'll distract him." Yui answered, before getting to King Boo, shouting, "Mama's not gonna let her fear get the best of her. She will overcome you, like she has overcome many things before. And if she can't alone, we will be there to support! Soul Burst! Yuna X-2!" She unleashed the secondary form of Yuna, her Keyblade transforming into twin guns, before launching forward, shooting them to get King Boo's attention.

Goofy had a Hi-Potion on hand, and had Asuna drink it. She felt the majority of her injuries vanish, and was able to shakily stand to her feet again. "S-Sorry, Goofy." Asuna apologized, "This ghost is frightening me. I am really holding you back."

"Aw, you ain't holdin' us back, Asuna." Goofy assured her, "Gawrsh, I get scared a lot, too." He then thought for a second, muttering, "Hmm... This whole moment feels familiar..." He thought through the gunfire and the lightning that was going on through Yui and King Boo's battle, before realizing, "Oh, yeah! You were this afraid back in Halloween Town, too. Did ya remember how ya felt when you were able to fight then?"

Asuna recalled that past memory. Halloween Town, with Jack Skellington and everyone else. It was a frightening moment for her, as it had everything she was afraid of rolled into one world. However, she learned to deal with it, and eventually became tolerant to the scary citizens there, even becoming friends with them. And she also learned there were more scarier things that ghosts and ghouls. It was losing the people she cared about.

She got to her feet again, looking to see King Boo swat his tongue at Yui, who backed off to evade it. She saw Blake's scared face frozen in the canvas. "I may be afraid of him..." Asuna muttered, clenching her fist to her heart, "But I gotta remember what I might lose is worse. So I got to gather myself up again. I'll also take a risk, and try something out." She downed a Soul Recovery to recharge her Soul Burst energy, threw her fist to one side, and shouted, "Soul Burst! Pyra & Mythra!" She once again unleashed the power of the Aegis, summoning their weapon, and switching to Mythra's weapon. She raised it high, and unleashed the power of the light-element from it. King Boo got distracted, and got blinded by the attack, screeching in pain.

"Gah! This is even brighter than that darn flashlight!" he exclaimed.

"I figured." Asuna understood, "Thunder may not do much, but Light-element is definitely not a ghost's best friend. Goofy, let's go!"

"Got it!" He answered, and the two performed a Team Attack while he was blinded. Using Goofy Bombardment, Asuna and Goofy rocketed upwards, before she tossed the captain of the guard down at Goofy, slamming him to the ground, and dazing him for a moment. Asuna used this opportunity to shoot her Keyblade beam at the picture frame, freeing Blake from its clutches. She saw herself fall out, and quickly landed on her feet, like the cat faunus she was.

"That was a bad experience." Blake muttered, shaking her head.

"Focus, Blake!" Asuna ordered, before the pair raced at King Boo, who got angry that his captive was freed, and he tossed more spiked balls at them. However, Goofy got in the way, using his shield to block the spiked balls. He barely could do so, leaving his arms a little limp. Asuna jumped over and pointed her blade at the ghost, shouting, "Ray of Punishment!", shooting a green beam that struck King Boo, damaging him.

"Time to get Trigger Happy!" Yui shouted, unleashing a bullet barrage with her guns, peppering King Boo with the attack. At the same time, Blake ran behind, jumping off the wall near them, getting above her opponent, and mixed her Semblance with Earth Dust to create a stone figure of herself that crashed down onto him.

"I'm not done!" Asuna shouted, making sure he wasn't gonna make any more moves, "Photon Edge!" She practically looked like she was doing a series of warps, moving so fast with a series of slashes all over King Boo's body, causing him major damage.

He disappeared and reappeared behind the group, growling as he proclaimed, "You...you dare?! I will make sure all of you get into my picture frame, right now!" He readied the picture frame, prepared to scoop all of them into its interior.

"Not a chance!" Asuna shouted, leaping in and unleashing Pyra's Aegis Sword. King Boo saw her coming, and attempted to shove the picture right in the path she ran on. However, someone was quick enough to act, as Blake switched to her kusarigama form, and wrapped her weapon around the picture frame. She, Goofy, and Yui held the ribbon together as they pulled as hard as they could, making sure it was tugged out of the way of Asuna's path, giving her a clear shot at King Boo, who was shocked at what happened.

Asuna focused as she growled, "Time to end things." Her weapon became engulfed in flames, and she shouted, "Burning Sword!" She did an upswing her blade on King Boo, which was followed by a tower of flames that engulfed him. Asuna's sword was raised high as the towering inferno, until it dissipated, leaving King Boo to float to the ground, too injured to continue. Asuna and Yui came out of their respective Soul Bursts, and Asuna reverted back to her normal garments.

King Boo was able to get back into the air again, but was swaying in pain from the damage he took. "I...don't understand." King Boo growled, looking at Asuna, who had her eyes closed, looking cool, but really trying to avoid looking at the ghost, "Tears told me you were afraid of ghosts! You should've been easy to defeat!"

"It's because the souls in my heart gave me strength, as well as relying on my friends." She turned to Blake, stating, "I gotta lean on my friends, and make sure I don't just become a burden." Blake kinda felt she was referring to their conversation before.

"What a pain!" King Boo growled, "Just you wait! I'll scare you so bad, no one will be able to help you out of that! And I'll make sure that fright sticks when I stick your frightened face in my portrait!" He suddenly created a portal of digital darkness, and flew right through, his picture right behind him, closing it behind.

Asuna sighed in relief, collapsing to her knees. "Mama!" "Asuna!" Yui and Goofy called out, running to her side.

"Are you okay?!" Blake asked.

Asuna tilted her head upwards, her eyes closed as she gasped, "I know we should look for everyone else...but can I get a break here? That took a lot out of me." Goofy and Yui looked at one another, before giving symphathetic chuckles. Asuna really did have a mental battle as well as a physical one.

"I would like to..." Blake answered, "But we still need to know where we ended up, and if everyone else is okay."

"Don't worry. I'll carry ya." Goofy suggested.

"Okay..." Asuna replied, "Just...don't make it awkward." Within moments, Goofy had Asuna on his back, holding her underneath her knees as she leaned onto him. Trusting him to support her, Asuna didn't complain as Yui and Blake took the lead, discovering the door in the room that led them out of there.

Back in the main hall, the battle between the two Dark Hybrids continued on. The Stymphallen, according to Ruby and Weiss, was more of a threat than the Nevermore it originally was. It would swoop down and charge at the team, as well as flap its wings to send feathers shooting down like massive arrows down at the group. However, the feathers would vanish in a few seconds, unleashing a pulse of darkness that damaged anyone that got close. It also unleashed shockwaves by screeching to send anyone trying to do close combat with it. It was a struggle to fight it since it was primarily in the air above them, relying on their powers such as Semblance, Airstepping, or using magic from a distance to damage it.

Meanwhile, the Buthidie was practically an armored tank against Kirito, Yang, and Candy. While it was no where near nimble, it was able to take a lot of damage from the pair, and dish it right back by stabbing and swinging its tail at them, snapping its claws at them, or shooting beams from its claws that caused a fiery eruption along the ground. It also created a barrier with its claws, causing the team to not be able to do frontal attacks.

"Sora!" Ruby shouted.

"Right! Let's do it!" Sora declared, and they performed their team attack, "Crimson Comet!" The two performed their Team Attack, with Ruby carrying Sora into the air with her Semblance, before they pointed their weapons at the Stymphallen, Ruby's weapon in sniper rifle mode. They fired shooting star bullets at the Dark Hybrid multiple times, each attack hitting head on. They finished the attack by Sora grabbing Ruby's weapon as it turned to Scythe mode. Ruby shot them to the target, and with a twirl of their weapons, they slashed it with a great amount of damage, leaving rose petals in their wake.

They landed on the ground as the Stymphallen momentarily fumbled in the air, before regaining itself, and used the momentum to dive down at the two. They turned and panicked, running away as quickly as possible, even as it caught up to them.

"Donald, freeze its wing!" Weiss ordered.

"Got it!" Donald answered, and they shot their ice attacks together at the Dark Hybrid's right wing, their combined attack freezing up the wing enough to cause tilt from the weight and steer off-course, avoiding Ruby and Sora.

"See? Your contribution is showing in moments like this." Weiss told Donald, "They would've been in big trouble if you and I hadn't stepped in."

Donald could see the results of what he did, as the Dark Hybrid had to ground itself in order to flap the ice off its wings, allowing the team a chance to go in and attack it while it was vulnerable. He now understood what everyone was trying to tell him, and convinced himself what he needed to do wasn't the big things to be important, but the right things. He regained his old self again, and started to unleash Thunder spells that rained down onto the Heartless.

At the same time as this was happening, the Buthidie shot two lasers from its claws, creating an inner path that Kirito, Yang, and Candy took to avoid the exploding line of flames. "This requires reaction speed!" Kirito stated, "Soul Burst! Deku!" He summoned the power of the young hero, before transforming his Keyblade into the Air Force Gloves.

Yang and Candy unleashed their fists as a frontal assault on the Buthidie, punching it in the head. I tried to counter by bringing its stinger down onto them, but this was countered by Kirito's mid-air Deleware Smash Air Force, canceling its movement.

"Not done yet!" Kirito shouted, using the momentum from his jump to do a drop kick onto the Buthidie, shouting, "SMASH!" It screeched in pain from the attack. He backed off as he landed behind Yang and Candy, while the flame of the laser attack dissipated.

The scorpion raised its claws, and pointed them at the trio, ready to fire a combined laser attack. Before Yang could react, Kirito pointed his fist to Candy, calling out the power of the Keyblade as he shot a beam to her, activating her Soul Release. "Candy, cancel it out!" he shouted.

"You got it, kuru!" Candy shouted back, jumping up, drawing a heart of light energy with her ears, before shouting, "Candy Shower!" She shot a powerful beam at the Buthidie, just as it fired it twin beams back at her. The two attacks connected, and after a few seconds of pushing against one another, the respective energies dissipated with an explosion.

"Yang, let's try that plan we were discussing before." Kirito suggested, getting Yang's attention.

(Flashback) It was after they left the room they faced the High Crowds in. They were charging ahead, dealing with a sealed door. Kirito punched it several times with his Ember Celica weapons, and eventually broke it down.

"Not bad. You quickly got the hang of them." Yang stated.

"It's pretty much like a couple of my other Soul Bursts, only with explosive punches, instead." he answered, looking at his hands. He clenched his fist, and felt an energy almost coating his body, noting, "Plus, I think I feel that aura you girls have, too."

"I wonder if that means you have my Semblance, as well?" Yang asked.

"Probably." Kirito answered, "I think I remember Ruby saying before that the more damage your aura takes, the stronger you become?"

"Yep. My Semblance always helps me out in a pinch." Yang answered, flexing one of her arms.

The pair continued to run on ahead, as Kirito continued, "Just curious, but does it matter how you are dealt, or who does it to you?"

"As long as it doesn't break my aura, it's fair game." Yang answered, "But why do you ask WHO does the damage?"

"Just thinking strategy, but I'm wondering if you take a hit from an ally, you can still dish out that damage onto an enemy."

"Huh..." Yang pondered on that thought, "Well, I've never thought about a trick like that. Maybe it's worth trying out, especially if you guys know my Aura limit." (Flashback ends)

"We're seriously gonna do that now?" Yang questioned.

"I'll uppercut you into the air, then we both unleash our strongest punches at it." Kirito answered, "Think you can take a punch?"

Yang thought for a second, then answered, "I'm sure I can take a punch from you."

"Then grit your teeth!" Kirito answered, his body sparking with green electricity. Yang braced for it as Kirito went for her gut, punching her hard enough to send her skyward.

Ruby stopped her fighting to turn to see what Kirito did, and gasped, "Why did Kirito do that?! Yang!" Sora stopped to see what she was talking about, and looked to see Yang in the air.

She had her teeth grit tightly, but was able to gather herself up. Her eyes went red, and her hair combusted into flames. He practically got her at her limit, and was at her strongest. Her roar of rage could be heard from Kirito, and he understood their plan worked.

"Time to give it my all!" Kirito shouted, his body bursting with the full power of One-For-All. Red veins glowed around his body as he pulled back his fist. "Here goes. 100%!" He launched forward, passing by Candy, just as Yang dove down, her fist at the ready, a fresh bullet from her weapon prepared for the Heartless-Grimm. They roared as they got in close, with Kirito shouting at the last second, "Detroit Smash!" He and Yang punched as hard as they could, their fists creating a yellow and green cone of energy. Their fists connected with the Buthidie. The shockwaves that shook through the monster's body. The cracks on the shell pieces of its body. The lights leaving its eyes. It all came together to result in the Buthidie to be sent flying, breaking apart, vanishing into darkness.

"Oh, come on!" Torchwick exclaimed, just as Tears raised a hand, gathering the darkness from the defeated monster, "That Dark Hybrid wasn't enough to stop them?!"

"Seems like they got more punch than it could take." Pete summed up.

Tears looked at the orb of gathered darkness, clicking her tongue in disgust. She then looked to see Neo curiously looking at it, and pulled it away from her. "Even if it ends in failure, the darkness will still be useful." She informed her, before looking at the Stymphallen, "Let's see what the other pet can do."

(a couple minutes ago) The quartet of fighters were dealing damage to the downed bird, but it shook them off and screeched at them all to push them away. Weiss used her Glyph to stop herself, while using ones in the air to catch Ruby, Sora, and Donald. The Stymphallen took to the sky, flapping its wings and tossing down more feathers at the group. The four pushed off the glyphs to leap through the attacks, but Weiss got struck in the shoulder by one, causing her to tumble to the ground, injured.

"Weiss!" Ruby shouted.

"It's okay!" Weiss grimaced, before gasping, "Look out!" Sora and Ruby turned to see the avian dive down at the pair.

'Crap!' Sora was in a panic. They couldn't out race it this time. And the way it was flying, it was going in the path of where Weiss was at. How could they get out of this?!

"Sora!" Donald shouted, getting his attention, "Remember that dragon back at the Emperor's palace!"

"Emperor's...palace?" Sora echoed, but suddenly gasped. Of course! In Mulan's world, they fought a dragon that also dive-bombed the team. How they got out of it was...

"Ruby, follow me!" Sora shouted, racing at the low-flying bird. Ruby thought he was crazy, but followed him. Just as the beak of the bird nearly pierced them, Sora and Ruby went into a slide, ducking underneath the bird, before combining their weapons to strike it in the neck. It resulted in the bird being knocked upwards in agony of the attack.

"I can't believe that worked!" Weiss stated as Donald went and healed her injury with magic.

Sora and Ruby got up, beaming at the achievement, before Sora called out, "Nice remembering, Donald!" Donald rubbed his beak with pride, before the Stymphallen crashed to the ground, making them all jump.

Just then, Ruby looked to see Kirito punch Yang into the air with great force. "Why did Kirito do that?! Yang!" she cried, getting Sora's attention, seeing the midair blonde. However, their worries were stopped when Yang ignited her Semblance, her hair burning.

"She's doing what she did back in the city!" Sora recalled.

"Oh. She let him punch her to boost her strength?" Ruby asked.

"Ruby, Sora, focus!" Weiss shouted, getting the pair attention as the Heartless-Grimm got back into the air, shooting feathers down at the four. They darted around the attack, while Sora used his Airstepping technique to bounce off the feathers in midair, and get in close, striking it numerous times. Weiss used her Glyph, combining it with Ruby's Semblance, using great momentum to speed right into the neck of the Stymphallen, her scythe at the ready.

She brought the blade of the weapon around the neck of the crow just as it opened its beak, pulling its head upwards to avoid either her or Sora from getting hit by the shockwave of its screech. It was pulled into an upside down position, and with a gunshot, Ruby pulled the Stymphallen to the ground, Sora right behind her. Sora straightened his body to catch up with Ruby. The moment the bird hit the ground, Ruby adjusted her scythe to wrap the backside of its neck, while Sora did a diving slam with his Keyblade, making the bird screech in pain. Ruby pulled the trigger of her weapon, and she tore through the pinned monster's neck, causing it to vanish into darkness. The two young fighters landed on the ground together, while Weiss and Donald looked satisfied at the win they claimed.

Kirito, Yang, and Candy saw the final blow the two did to their enemy, Yang looking proud of her sister's achievement, while Kirito smirked at both of them.

"These guys are little roaches we just CAN'T stamp out!" Torchwick scoffed, while Tears gathered up the Stymphallen's darkness.

Just then, the doors on the opposite end of where Yang and Kirito came out of opened up, and Asuna and Blake's team raced out, seeing the scene. "Kirito! Sora!" Asuna greeted.

"Guys! You're okay!" Blake stated, giving a sigh of relief.

"Hey, Blake." Yang greeted with a wave, "You missed the fun!"

"Huh?! How're those chumps still around?!" Pete demanded, pointing to the newly-arrived group, "But that could mean..."

"Tch! That self-proclaimed 'King' Boo failed to beat them." Tears stated with irritation, "Was he even trying?! What a mess. NOTHING went the way I wanted!"

"You think you have it rough? I can't get these stubborn children off my back, either!" Torchwick stated, with Neo stepping right next to him, "And we wasted so much time and effort in trying to trample them with those experiments of yours."

"You want to go back to your old plan? Fine!" Tears responded, waving a hand to create a digital Corridor of Darkness, "There. Go back to that sight you were setting up. Our team-up is over!"

Torchwick gave a huff at Tears' attitude, before saying, "Regardless of this fail, I still wish you the best of luck getting rid of your problem. I'll deal with mine. Come along, Neo." He walked into the portal, while Neo pulled her eyelid down and stuck her tongue out at them, before walking behind Torchwick.

The portal closed as everyone gathered at the bottom of the steps, with Ruby shouting, "Hey! Bring him back! We can't let him get away!"

Tears turned to them with her queenly look as she stated, "What gives you the right to give me orders? Sorry, not sorry, but I am not going to accept your request. Especially to a bunch of children like you!" This left Team RWBY discouraged at her words. Yang tried to go attack her, but forgot the barrier surrounding the platform at the top of the stairs, and got rebounded backwards, only to be caught by Ruby and Blake.

"Then how about you deal with us, instead?!" Sora demanded, the members of Team Keybladers ready to fight her.

"Really? You think I'd waste my time with all of you?" Tears questioned.

"You chumps still look like a bunch of wimps, right now." Pete laughed, causing Sora to grit his teeth, reminded of his weakened state.

Tears looked at the group, before locking eyes with Yui. They looked to each other for a few seconds, before Tears felt a sudden pain in her head. She grasped her head, backing off for a second, before shaking herself straight again, acting like nothing happened. "As much as I want to fool around with you, I have more darkness to gather for my daddy." she told them, "If you get in my way again, I might consider ending you all myself. So do me a favor, and stay out of my path!" She opened up a Digital Corridor of Darkness, and she and Pete walked through, leaving them behind.

"Wait!" Yui shouted, but they had already left.

"They got away again, kuru..." Candy muttered.

"Don't worry. We'll find them again, next time." Kirito assured them.

"That's right." Asuna agreed, looking to Team RWBY, "We both will find our respective enemies. We just need to be ready when that happens." They looked to the platform once more, the decision made in their hearts.

Beacon Academy, Professor Ozpin's Office

A long time later, the teams were picked up by the aircraft that dropped them off before, bringing them back to school. Once they returned, they went straight to the head of the school's office, where Ozpin and Goodwitch were waiting for them. They gave their report on what happened in the Emerald Forest, summing up what had happened.

"We're really sorry we let them escape." Ruby apologized, feeling guilty for the results.

"Not to worry." Ozpin assured the teams, "It was an abnormal threat, and you were able to handle it to the best of your ability. I believe you did a fine job, Team RWBY, Keyblade wielders."

"But what about the Heartless?" Goodwitch asked Ozpin. He didn't have an answer to this.

"Don't worry." Sora assured them, "Tears and Pete have already moved on, and their team up with Torchwick seems to be over and done with."

"Right. That means the Heartless case should be minimized for now." Kirito summed up, "At least, they won't be a big problem like they were before."

"In that case, there is nothing left for you to do here." Ozpin understood, "We'll deal with whatever is left around here."

"Wait, you guys have to go now?" Blake asked the team.

"Sorry, but we have to. There are other places where the Heartless might be causing problems for others." Asuna answered.

"We can come back to visit again." Goofy assured her.

"Yeah. You HAVE to come to the Vytal Festival dance party." Yang told them, walking over to Kirito, "Now that I know you can rock on the dance floor, I'd like you to show that off to everyone. You should let me dance with you, too."

"Hey, we can all dance, too!" Sora pointed out.

"I don't think that matters." Yui defended.

"Besides…" Kirito retorted, looking to Asuna, "If it's one of those dance parties, I'd rather have Asuna with me for the first dance." Asuna smiled sweetly as this, glad he planned to choose to dance with her first.

"That's okay. I'll save my first dance with Blake, instead." Yang assured him, looking to the cat faunus, who was rather surprised, "But then again, you do have my Soul Pact thing in you, Kirito. So technically, you are dancing with me."

"Wait. You formed a Soul Pact with Yang?" Asuna asked, hearing this for the first time.

Kirito had a bead of sweat on his head as he asked, "Um…is that a problem?"

Asuna pondered for a moment, before answering, "Well, I don't know... Having someone of the opposite gender as a Soul Pact. But then again, Yui and I could have Soul Pacts with guys, so you never know."

"See? She has no problem with it." Yang assured Kirito, punching his shoulder enough to cause him to massage it.

"Regardless of that fact, it would be best not to interfere with anything outside of the Heartless." Ozpin told the team, "Although...if you do plan to come back to the dance, then I'll allow it."

"There will be a dress code." Yang told them.

"We'll try to manage." Kirito answered, wondering if they will get a Soul Armament that would work.

"Donald, I hope you learned enough from this experience." Weiss told Donald.

"Yeah, yeah." Donald huffed, "I don't have to do big things. Just the right ones."

Weiss knelt down, and whispered to him, "You know, there were a lot of things I wanted, too, and never got. But I'm choosing to be the best teammate I can be, so I can be in the best team. I'd never admit this to them, but I am learning to appreciate where I am at."

"What was that, Weiss?" Ruby asked.

"Oh, nothing." Weiss answered, standing straight back up. However, she made one last look at Donald, both smirking at one another. Donald learned to appreciate what he could do for the team, rather than what he wanted to do.

Team RWBY guided the team back out of the school, reaching the courtyard.

"You know, you guys clearly are more than just the average Huntresses in training." Sora pointed out.

"And you guys are more than just the average team, too." Weiss counter-argued.

"Fair point." Sora chuckled.

"Hey, best of luck with getting Torchwick." Asuna told Blake, "But makes sure not to burn yourself out trying to get him."

"Don't worry. I won't." she assured her, "You do your best stopping Tears."

"We will." Asuna replied.

"Hey, Sora?" Ruby started, getting his attention, "Ozpin said that you guys shouldn't interfere with anything outside of the Heartless. What did he mean by that?"

"Well..." Sora started, until Donald barked, "Order!" Sora covered his mouth, while Ruby looked confused.

"We're not really allowed to say." Yui answered for him, holding Candy close and covering her mouth so as to not let her blab.

"But...let's just say we just make sure no extra darkness gets in your way." Kirito answered, "We'll do our part, and you do yours."

Team RWBY looked at one another, before Yang stated, "Not sure I get it, but I don't get the Heartless, either. So you guys deal with them. We'll do our thing." Kirito nodded in agreement.

"Alright. Take care!" Ruby told them, the four girls waving the team off.

"Buh-bye!" Sora, Candy, and Goofy answered in response, the seven heroes waving goodbye as they went to the port entrance of the school. Once they made sure they were out of sight, they activated the teleporter, and warped back up to their ship again. It was time to go to the next world.
