Chapter 5

Mamoru was lying on his bed but he could not sleep. His mind would not shut down. The events of the night had him his mind in its gripe, still trying to understand all the revelations it had recorded. He couldn't believe it. All this time the visions of his dreams were actually real. Not only were they real but they managed to find the silhouette of his dreams. Granted she was still a future version but her existence at least let him know that she was real and not just a phantom that he was chasing aimless. She was real and somehow, soon he finds her and ties his life with her.

A flush overtook his face as it hit him even more just what type of relationship he will have with her. He had seen his future self's interaction with her. They were close, very close. Closer than he expected. With the missing gap of his memories and his own life growing up in orphanage his heart had drawn cold. Mamoru wasn't blind nor was he inane. He knew he kept people at a distant. He knew that he was unfair with attachment but he did not want to risk his heart or emotions. The lack of memories left that hollow, to grow attached would mean he would lose more. More at stake.

So the thought of having any relationship, much less a marriage where he gives his heart and soul seemed impossible. Almost like a reach. Yet he saw the proof of that right in front of his eyes today. The way his future self, 'Endymion' had held her protective. The way his eyes looked at her and the love in Serenity's own eyes. They all showed a closeness and love that was unconditional, with no walls or boundaries. Sometime in the future he gives everything to his princess. And that terrified him. It seemed impossible yet the result was right in front of him and he couldn't deny it. The love he saw in his future self's eyes was hard to not observe. His future self's name itself was a source of more complication. Past life? That was befuddling but he had hope that they would expand on that more. For now his mind was enraptured. The love he had seen was true. Just the thought of that love triggered more in his head. He had a flash of two other blondes in his life who also triggered that feeling.

He kept his heart locked yet somehow but Usagi and Sailor Moon managed to find a key in. He had been deliberating how to keep them further away but each encounter only brought them closer. It had left him horrified that he had feelings for two people but now that the future showed that he did not end up with either it left him oddly void. His heart clenched at that and he wanted to scoff at himself with disgust. How fickle was he? He had feelings for two already instead of one and on top of that, when he saw proof of his own future he couldn't even commit to her because of his fickle feelings. He groaned and got up. His self-loathing wasn't helping him sleep. While rubbing his neck he wandered his way into his kitchen. While making as little noise as possible he grabbed his crystal glass and poured water in it. It was while he was pouring did he notice that the light of the spare room was on, the door a quarter open. The spare room which currently was housing his future self and the princess…his wife.

Unable to stop himself he looked and noticed through the creak of Serenity. Her hair was still in the two silver buns. Buns which were intricately linked to the two other girls who also held the key to his heart. Not being able to bear the thought of that implication he took the glass and shut himself in his room.

Since his mind was full of distractions, he did not notice a pair of glowing violet eyes which were intently peering through the window.
