Resetting the Past-The Haunting Re-Imagined

Warnings: This is going to be a time travel story and is going to make it so Luke and Eleanor are alive at the end of the story. So the opening matches the end of the movie, before the Dudley's arrive, if some names match my last story. It's coincidental now.

Disclaimers: I don't own the story or the characters, the plot line belongs to me, everything else belongs to Shirley Jackson and Jan De Bont.

Chapter 8: Dinner Discussions And Scare Tactics

"Expecting that again right now?" Beth asked and we both nodded then. "Yeah we are right now, but we can do the investigation day by day, but to repeat the news reporter. On that tv show Famke Janssen was watching, the secret this house was hiding is one more horrifying. Then anything Hollywood can produce." I said and she nodded sternly. "At least this isn't a psychiatric hospital." Dave said to that and I nodded in agreement to that opinion then gently at that.

"We got enough food to last 5 months, but it's only going to take 3 weeks to repair the level of damage he causes here right right now." I said and she nodded. "Good point, we spent 3 weeks repairing the damage to your old bedroom and the spiral staircase. And then replace the windows and we're done." Luke said and I nodded. "You need some help, Aunt Beth?" I asked and she smiled. "I'm 3/4's done, so just set up." she said and we nodded to her gently then.

As the 6 of us set the table at our side of it, only to find 5 dummies playing poker, complete with poker chips and 5 beer glasses of rum&coke and a bowl of Cool Ranch Doritos. As the glasses were 1/2 empty and as was the bowl and I nodded with a bemused smile. "Hey Beth, you better come out here and take a look at this!" Bentley called out and she walked out and saw them sitting there and nodded. "Great, what's next exactly?" she said with a bemused smile at this.

"I'm not entirely sure, but the practical jokes in the way that the cousin are attempting are not working right now." I said with a bemused smile and Dave nodded in agreement then. "Last round, then get back upstairs!" Dave said and they nodded as Luke started laughing, before one of them fell face first on the table, with his hand on the glass. "Well there's a first, one of them falls down drunk." Beth said and I nodded as I looked at David then and he nodded, bemused.

"What are they drinking, if he collapsed after drinking half the glass, if this is not just a cup of cola, but spiked with real alcohol." Luke said and I nodded. "I'm not sure, but this says they had more than 1 and enough you're completely plastered. Before the end of the night, if they're teenagers inside these bodies." Bentley said sternly to that. "And your and our expert eye can spot a drunken teenager faster then our great grandparents generation can right now in truth."

"Then again, the last 50 years shows that all too well, nowadays you need to be 21 to start drinking, and 18, before you're considered an adult." I said and my parents, godfather and his team nodded in agreement then. "And 16, before you get your driver's license, but this says they ransacked the bar in the corner." Beth said to that news. "Our age group had the more stricter guidelines, but we had good, caring parents and turned into what we are right now."

"But real or spiritually, you get to see me get married and have kids now finally, because the wedding is going to be here." I said and they nodded smiling. "Well we always preferred you over Janie, our baby girl, you're the one we doted upon. But that brat is basically married to a preppie, one that is going to run out of loopholes sooner or later." Hancock said smiling and I nodded and the quintet hid a smile, knowing I was liked and loved here in Concord then.

"You ever considered you could be seen as Garcia and Alex his partner, the one that discovered the mess in the bedroom: Johnny?" I asked and he nodded. "And your father as John himself, but when the cops and paramedics combine together, look out. You're asking for the reprimand from heck for screwing with that crap." he said, smiling gently then. "And how do you explain the mess in the bedroom, that looks like he nearly pulled a Fred Krueger that night at the time."

"And we just barely made it in time." Theo said and Dave nodded. "Yeah and she convinced me here, we're being haunted by a madman and with it now. The bastard is Fred Krueger in every sense of the word, we just found the evidence needed to charge him with multiple murder finally." Dave said and Bentley crossed his arms sternly. "Looks to me he's trying to go Fred Krueger on us, right now guys and with that, touch her and I'll kill you again, you bastard."

"Stay away from her!" Bentley said sternly and the guys nodded in agreement. "Dad maybe a ghost, but you're holding that spot, dad was a fireman, you're the cop. And homicide detective here right now, after I found you what we were looking for and I can show you the study. But like Fred Krueger he was marking off the children he killed on his textile records." I said and he crossed his arms. "Yeah I got a homicide here alright, thanks baby." he said and I nodded then.

"So it's as you said, he's Fred Krueger in every sense of the word right now, I knew I was right- right now, he's a monster and Renee realized and decided suicide was the only out." Luke said sternly and I nodded and he and Dave crossed their arms. "Yeah and if his biggest opponent for 2 movies can't destroy him, get the blood relative and get ready to run. But reaching the face off, stay out of range, before he tries that twice, brother, Luke I am not kidding here."

"The only way we can kill him, like they did in the movie is get a blood relative here to finish what the last one started. And this time, there is no returning a third time, or at the very least lay him out is by the doors. I got to stay here, so with the new door keeper living on sight, he's never coming back." I said and they nodded gently. "Well your uncle and I got another 10 years before we retire, after that the house is your's now." Beth said and I nodded gently her then.

"Okay like you said is first the tv show, then it shifts into PG-13 and then R rated by the time we reach Halloween, what you say tomorrow he pulled?" Bill said and I explain that. "That's scaring us out of our wits by the fireplace, followed by defacing the painting of him. Problem is we're never alone for more then 10 minutes." I said and he nodded then. "Then use the radio and get us back up here, because I want to see this next practical joke." Bentley said and I nodded.

"After 100 years their souls are put to rest finally and he's going to hell now finally here, but to quote Ronee right now on her opinion. As that was mine after she realized what the hell was going on, and she was preparing to change the locks. And move them off the block, the bastard is a filthy child murderer here now. He killed a couple dozen kids, one of them your uncle, baby." Mom said and I nodded as I went over it then

"They put him away, or tried to?" I asked and she shook her head. "If this was now to the 70's, it's he drove us crazy when they never found out who did it. But it was even worse after they caught him, a load of lawyers got fat and the judge got famous. But someone forgot to sign it in the right place and Hugh was freed just like that." she said and Dave leaned against the all, as he and I exchanged looked at that remark as Luke said it.

"Lynch mob scene, private justice and these idiots were drinking?" Luke said and she nodded to that. "They turned him into an unholy demon and he's trying to hold onto my uncle and his wife and friends and by haunting the house." I said and she nodded. "And if this doesn't work, go Lisa on him, both versions." she said and I nodded. "As for this practical, you really think this is funny, adults in the 20th century are strict in healthcare." Beth said to this then sternly then.

"How many do you think he had if he passed out at the dinner table right now, because it's 5:30, and the sun just went down?" Todd asked and Bentley nodded. "If this was a teenager, I'd say he's a chronic boozehound right now, and he normally drank beer. That trying the hard liquor, he over did it." he said and Jared swung his head. "Uh oh, that means they had more than one glass if he passed out." Andy said to that response and we exchanged looks then.

"Yeah Uncle Andy in truth, in the 130 years, since your true childhood right now, we learned too much is not good for you and in fact it starts destroying your liver. But the arrests of the last 55 years got out of control that dad and Uncle Jack's departments. They had to arrest repeated drunks and lately the movies my age group created in the horror section. Are a bad influence, encouraging teenagers to start with the drugs and alcohol." I said and he nodded sternly then.

"My friends, Dave and I are born or raised in the 60's which was the high point for this, to anyone knowing the 60's it was a time for sex, drugs and rock and roll. And two of those fit the three piece safety rules in horror movies, problem is that no one takes that seriously. And it keeps getting them killed in slasher flicks." I explained and he nodded. "And our age group was the one getting fed up with the arrests right now." Dad said sternly and I nodded.

"Well you're not as young as you used to be dad, but 1965, I was 19 when your double made his appearance in the horror movie genre. That I knew you were getting fed up with the arrests, but 1984 and it's based in 1981: when I was 16." I said and they nodded. "I was killed in the explosion after John made his reappearance, but the accident. It was 12 years ago baby." he said and I nodded to that. "The 3 of us are all 35, Sir." Todd said and he nodded.

"And I was half expecting that to happen, but mom hung on for another 12 years and passed this past summer." I said and they nodded. "Which explains why, after 2 months, the little bastard is trying to sell our house, but too late, your brother, sister and I. We sold it to Janet and Tony with her pregnant and them getting married here. As your sister gathered my stuff and brought it here now, baby." Mom said and he nodded sternly then.

"You thinking what I'm thinking here?" I asked my parents and the trio and mom nodded gently then. "Yeah baby, I do and this says they had one too many right now, if that one passed out at the table right now, but this is not Gremlins and this took that portion of the movie too far." Bentley said for all 4 of them at that. "Going on a guess the practical jokes are being taken too far, but how many did he have exactly if he passed out." Beth said and Dad nodded sternly.

"That's either rum or whiskey, I don't know." dad said sternly and as I grabbed it and took a drink and then choked on it. "That's the Jack Daniels Whiskey, it's 3/4's that to one of coca cola, dad!" I said as I grabbed a glass of ice water and got the taste of out of my mouth then and he nodded. "Yeah okay so that with them this small, they're drunk, and just wait for a bar brawl to break out right now." Dad said to that response then and I nodded then.

"How many shots of the J.D.'s did you have to get this plastered, gentlemen?" mom asked and Slappy put 3 chips on the side and we nodded. "Was this your first glass or more then one?" I said sternly and he put out 2 and we nodded and dad swung in his head in aggravation then sternly. "Three shots to 1/4 coca cola, that's basically 6 glasses of beer in one night." Theo said bemused and we nodded in agreement as Luke said it for all of us at that remark then.

"You're not human wise guy, that much is too much, that crossed the line between drunk at the moment here now and alcohol poisoning if your friend there passed out. Just who the hell are you guys assimilating exactly right now, if this was our own childhood in my age group." Luke said to that sternly and a book landed on the table and I nodded. "You guys are the Socs, and were out on an all night drinking binge?" Dad said sternly and he nodded sheepishly.

"Our age group was born and raised in the 60's, and this means they're acting like the damn brats that got placed as disgraces to the community one day. And assets the next right now, but you, and our parents, would kill us for coming back drunk and passed curfew." Dave said, looking at my parents and Bentley, let alone the Dudleys and the cops and Jared nodded sternly then and as one of them got up to get a glass of water, and collapsed at that remark then.

"Great, my toys are drunk and trying to sober up." I said and she nodded. "My daughter knows I had a case of strict by lines I wanted her to follow when I was captain 20 years ago son. But you, my daughter and Dana, baby, always knew I never tolerated drinking and driving then. And I won't now, and you're father is even worse when he gets like that." he said and I nodded. "I know and this time it's not human, but a piece of wood shaped as one." I said and he nodded.

"Who parked that in the hallway exactly?" Rick called out and I turned around and saw a toy car for preschoolers sitting there and looked from the table. And back at the car and came to the inevitable conclusion. "Get the keys out of that car right now, because they're acting like teenagers that had too much, and what's the biggest problem with teenagers nowadays." I called back and he removed the plastic key from the engine and took the battery out of it.

"Uh oh." the quintet said together and I nodded in agreement then to that opinion. "You got to be kidding me, we, both age groups now, had the presence of mind. In not to be driving when this loaded, but they get into that car and it's a car accident. Said waiting to happen." Dad said and I nodded. "Yeah and our age group was also more polite then the current one, electronics not ruling our lives." I said and Luke finished that remark.

"And to quote Johnny right now, we have reason to think there is something very strange going on inside this house." Luke said and he nodded in agreement to that opinion then gently. "I got no argument with that son, baby, but with the way this is going, I'm sticking around. But Jack, you better get back up here tomorrow night, if the practical jokes break something and before these guys get plastered." he said and he nodded as he said it then.

"Point taken here and not happening with them this loaded, they're not drinking and driving, before they crash it into a wall or right into the fence, after going 50 miles an hour." Bentley said, bemused and dad nodded sternly in agreement. "Yep, but you're a cop Jack, I'm a paramedic, if this was a teenager, this kid is ending up in detox. But 3 adult men on a teenager, he's no match for us, and even 3 teenagers on a crash dummy is no match."

"But you're lucky you're not human gentlemen, otherwise you're going to be in detox from this level and the pain from that. Said is something no teenager wants to relive at the moment, because it's like being stabbed with multiple needles." he said sternly to this and I crossed my arms then firmly at that. "It's not sundown yet, but I call this beyond ridiculous in scare tactics right now." I said and he and Bentley nodded sternly to that opinion.

"I call this taking the childish pranks way too far to have one of them so loaded they pass out at the dinner table after drinking sum number in glasses. But the paramedics and the cops are here right now and you're drinking right now, if you're kids trapped in these bodies. Are you trying to get arrested right now." Bentley said, with a bemused smile crossing his arms sternly. "Evidently right now Chief, but this just took it too far." Dave said for me and Luke nodded.

"It would take 3 of these cocktails to have us that plastered, but them, if they decide they're drinking here at the current. And all night, then I say we get the food in here, and have one of us on stand by, after they destroyed the kitchen after she made dinner. So we shift off, and have half of us in here and protecting dinner and the others changing clothes. For our first night together here." Luke said and Mary covered her face and I nodded to that response then gently.

"Well I know this wasn't us or your parents or godfather, let alone the Dudleys right now this time Nell, we were all in the kitchen." Theo said to me and I nodded in agreement. "I think they're simulating a group of friends left alone by the parents for the night. And they decided to ransack the house owner's parental bar and drank themselves under the table." Luke said and I nodded then. "Poker night for Slappy and his pals." I said and Mary started laughing at this.

"And the poker game just ended in an arrest and trip to the hospital after the parents come back and find out that they ransacked the adults only bar. Yeah I agree with you guys, that's exactly what this is, and this is why my age group never left you alone. And for more than 2 hours, or something like the murder scene happens after a prank phone call now." Bentley said as Todd grabbed the leader by the scruff of his neck and dragged him back upstairs then and I nodded.

"Let me guess boys, you're basically simulating the poker game the night of the fire in the bedroom and Todd just arrested Bangs for drinking?" I asked and he nodded and Theo shook her head at that remark. "And to say this the way Jason would, if you want to drink like a man, let's see if you can fight like one. And because this is crap young man crap, that you're so drunk, you can't defend yourself here." dad said sternly, crossing his arms.

And the dummy looked at him in a case of hungover exhaustion then. "Our current age group in high school, just entering or leaving it, were born last decade 15 to 18 years ago. They should know better then to be drinking if your parent is a coach right now." Luke said and I nodded sternly at that. "Yeah and you guys knew better son, you knew better, but this was why we played favorites in the girls, and you, their friends." Bentley said and he and Theo nodded.

"Da da, da, da, da, I am, your singing telegram." we heard, and as I heard in a quick follow up the sound of a gun going off and then the front door slammed shut. As the sextet started laughing at that response. "Alright come on enough already tonight, look Hugh, you think that the practical jokes are enough they're not, nothing is scaring us out here. Now can it already tonight, that's enough of this already." I shouted and the Dudleys nodded to that gently.

"Hey Chief, I found another one sitting at the harpsichord right now, it's hand on the dial to one of the wires, like he was winding it up to tighten it." Alex called out as he walked in and we nodded. "You loosen it again?" I asked and he nodded. "Check the strings before you start playing with that one, these instruments in the strings are really old. And the ones in that harpsichord were just replaced by mom." I said gently and Mary nodded to the orders gently.

"What the…, why do these guys got the air of having one too many?" his partner asked and I nodded. "Because they did, Jerry, in fact they had 3 shots of rum and coke, and one of them passed out at the table, his counterpart tried to find a bucket of water to dunk his head in. And collapsed right now." Beth said and he crossed his arms. "To repeat what you said boss, I call this the act of taking childish pranks way too far, to simulate a drunken card game here."

"At the moment here and someone passed out from over use of the alcohol, but if you think we're letting you get behind the wheel of that toy car. Then you better think again boys, as it's not happening." he said and they nodded. "Todd arrested the one playing Tommy Bangs for drinking right now, but the others, they're both loaded to the level. And of needing a trip to the woodshop and getting dried out further, because they're saturated." Dave said and he nodded.

"Well no one is getting too close to the fireplace, or they're burning the house down right now right now, and there's your remark Luke." I said and he nodded with a bemused smile. "Set the house on fire, by humanoid matches, but don't go there, or someone's going to get hurt." Alex said bemused and we nodded in agreement then. "Is every cop here part of our parent's age group, their going on 58, we're still cubs in their eyes." Todd asked, coming back down at that.

"Yeah we are son, but this was what I meant by cub duty, get the grandparent cop getting involved and the cubs know they're busted. Especially if said is the parent of their own family parent, father or mother and Derek, my grandson, knows better. But I had to arrest 3 members of his class for this 10 times in 8 months, and they're 16 no less. But we're the ones handling this, if he trashes the house to scare you out of here." Bentley said and we nodded gently.

"Derek is the son of my best friend Amy here in Concord guys, so to him still Aunt Nell right now, though he knows not blood, just best friend." I said and the quartet nodded. "I got the keys out of it and removed the car battery, but it's 9 miles to the nearest Autozone park. In car repair shop to replace that battery and get a new set of keys for the car, Jack." Rick called out to him and they nodded in relief to that. "That's a relief right now." he said and dad nodded.

"I don't know about you, but this is getting ridiculous as this changes things from what we told you earlier right now. But this never happened last time we were here, and neither was the trip to the grocery store." I said and they all nodded then. "Although the fight in the kitchen between them and the pot getting chucked across the room was." Luke said to finish that remark and he and Bentley nodded to the news as we exchanged bemused looks then gently.

"Just wait for the dinner conversation and we hear that again right now." Todd said and I nodded in agreement. "Looks like they ate half the bag, what's next: are we going to find them doing their homework on his book trilogy." Theo asked and I nodded. "Don't go there, because this keeps up we're finding him in the strangest places, but at least. Now, he doesn't have his red headed brother in the house." Mary said and Rick started laughing as he came to check.

"Good point, but you're right, this is going to be a long night right now." Todd said smiling and as we finished things up with setting up for dinner and then changed clothes. As we all chose the clothes we wore that night for dinner as I put myself between the guys. And them sitting in front of Mary and Theo. "Oh lovely, we couldn't have gone through the bottle that fast right now." Luke said and I looked at the wine. "We got a drunk V. Dummy." I said to him then.

"They drank half the bottle after 2 cups of rum and coke?" Mary repeated and I nodded. "Yeah the quintet we saw tonight are drunk, that the next thing we hear is a…" I started to say and then we heard a loud clang, as a fight broke out in the kitchen. "Slappy's tv double just beat the crap out of his book self here, and the others arrested him for it. That the pot got thrown across the kitchen, Nell!" Theo shouted out and I nodded as Todd and Mary started laughing at that.

"Anything else?" I called back and knew she nodded. "They're playing back the attempted suicide/murder scene in The Outsiders and the quartet. That are playing Matt, Patrick, Rob and Emilio as they rescue Chris from Diane's boyfriend!" she called back and I nodded, as I heard another loud thump and a splash and I nodded. "Yeah the stupid fool just took a dunk in the sink in there, after trying to drown the person playing Chris." Mary said to that news then.

"Oh my god, come on!" Dave said as he started laughing. "Break out another bottle right now, and what was it you said, one of us was up until 5 in the morning, doing their next big project?" Todd asked and Mary smiled as she got a cup of coffee then to drink, as Theo came back in with a fresh bottle. "Do you know what, the rest of you may hate your insomnia, but I'm not sure I want a cure for mine, that's when I get all my best ideas, when I'm waiting to fall asleep."

"I'm alone, occasionally, with no distractions, my mind's racing with creative ideas, and come 3:00 a.m., I feel like a genius." she said and Luke smiled at her then. "Are you kidding me? 3:00 a.m., I start to feel like I'm losing my mind, watching, those infomercials on psychics. Or listening to Tony Robbins and the psychic hot lines, have you ever seen that late-night TV?" he asked and Dave nodded smiling as Theo poured the bottle for him then gently at that.

"Oh, yeah." he said and then said it gently. "Thank you." he said to her smiling. "I swear to God, you get a steady diet of that crap, and pretty soon you start thinking about movin' to Montana. And becomin' a survivalist." he said and the guys and I started laughing at that. "That's why God created barbiturates, honey." she said and he smiled. "Nembutal?" he said and she smiled bemused. "Mm-mm." she said in a negative tone and I nodded here to that gently then.

"Here it comes, the talk shifted to drugs now, guys this is not the 60's, and that's a good way to kill yourself if this was a horror movie." I said and Mary, Todd and Dave started laughing at that remark. "Point taken, and lay off the recreational ones, but which is it exactly?" Todd asked and he nodded, smiling. "No, Todd, I think we have a classic Seconal woman on our hands, in fact, I think I see a little Jackie Susann in Theo." he said and she looked at him with a bemused smile.

Dinner Conversations-Marrow's POV:

"You know Todd I think we got a classic Seconal woman on our hands, in fact I think see a bit of Jackie Suzanne in Theo." he said and the look she gave him was a bemused look. "Ouch." I heard him utter, hearing this Eleanor smiled and I decided to end that as I was holding in my laughter. "Alright you two, enough about pharmaceuticals. Okay so what do we need in life, what are the basics, food, water, shelter." I said and she answered that in a joking manner.

"Sex." she said and he smiled as Eleanor hid hers as I went further as she nodded to me then. "And sleep, sleep, alright the reason, reason we're here is to exercise both version, so far the pranks are not that bad. Not scary but as the week goes, it's going to start picking up, Eleanor has what we came here for. So with that, the longer things go on, it's going to get confusing, but I meant it here, sleep deprivation mixed into fear and hysteria now, as such now, is this."

"I've been working on a five year study, with the help of Mary and Eleanor here now, making profiles of bad sleepers. I'm looking for a good psychological link. I hope the work we do here will be able to help other people like yourselves." I said and she smiled. "God knows I'm all up for helping people saving the planet, but doesn't everyone have a probably sleeping these days, life's to frantic." she said and Mary looked at Eleanor then.

"What about you Nell?" she asked and she sighed. "Well it seems like your lives are complicated and exciting and you think about it when you go to sleep, but I don't know, nothing's really happened to me, so I don't have a reason to sleep badly." she said and I thought over what I read so far about her. "But in your application you said you had trouble sleeping." I said and she sighed and I knew she was about to let go whatever information I needed to know to help her now.

"Well yes, but it's not like them, it's just..., there was always someone calling me, someone always banging, ever since I was younger I took care of my mother, she'd wake up in the middle of the night, and bang with her cane on the wall. It, it was like this relentless banging all through the night. It's weird, but though she's gone somehow I can still hear it when I wake up." she said and I thought that over. 'Two months and she still hears that, whatever information I need to deal with this I'm working it out.'

'Seeing her like this it's obvious she needs to be around other people and if this works it's going to help her heal.' I thought and I knew Mary thought the same then. "Well that's why we're here Eleanor to try and help you." I said and Luke, who was standing behind me, smiled. "Yeah Nell I think what Dr. Marrow is trying to say is, you're a basket case like the rest of us." he said and we chuckled as I got ready for step two then as she looked at me and Mary then to explain a few things then.

"Though what she told you, before you chose me, is dual layered, and this reason happens to be one of them. And mom and I were really close and up until eleven years ago she was completely healthy at the time. Those two have no clue what it's like to watch your favorite parent go through something like this, it's like watching someone suffering cancer, stage four. And they're dying and knowing the treatments are just going to slow it down and there's nothing you can do to stop it, so just make the best of what time you have left." She said and sighed as she vented a bit of it to us then.

"As if that's not enough, my father died four years before and while I had three years left of high school, Jane was in college and partying for weeks on end out at the clubs by her college and flunked five classes in the first semester every year. But I grew up a bookworm, not a party girl, my chosen expertise was meant to help others. And protect them from a poltergeist or or a psychotic outburst, let alone drugged. or drunken here, here, as to that I was training to be a medical psychiatrist at the time."

"While I was acting on a normal high schooler, mom left me her textbooks and was training me to take her place when she retired at the time, though she was head of the parapsychology team at the psychiatric hospital. My father was a fire fighter and I was going to grow up to be a civil servant, but something cut that short at the time and I'm not entirely sure what it was, so coming was enough I could put my knowledge to use."

"But this me showing now is what I was like in college and high school at the time, so whatever mom told you, if her imprint is hanging around now, is the truth, my classes were parapsychology and psychiatry." she said and I nodded as I hid a smile, knowing we were beginning to make progress if she told me that. "So I guess, if you just told us that, that means we're both sides of your personality traits huh?" Luke asked her and she nodded smiling as she answered him.

"Yeah, though for whatever reason there is, it's feels like I already know you and Theo in a way, if I'm acting like this around you guys. Though if that's true mom did that on purpose and your parents were friends of hers, we just can't remember that, because we're a couple years apart in age and we can go into trio dynamics at a later time." She said and he nodded as she looked at him and he gave her a smile and she smiled back at him as Theo looked at her smiling and I hid mine, already seeing the bond between them growing and knowing that this was going to be worth the added side project.

After hearing her explanation of her insomnia and her remark regarding her mother, I figured this was why she wanted in on it as Luke looked at her with a smile, and I knew he was about to start getting playful then. "I know you needed that, so what's next emotional venting?" he asked and she looked at him. "Are you asking to get smacked Luke?" she asked him and he chuckled as he answered her smiling at the question.

"Not really, but a good tension breaker helps." he said and we chuckled. "Uh oh, alright I see where this is going if you guys start acting Arquette and Sagoes in the movie. Although if that's the chosen therapy with us together, I see your patients, David, are about to acting like a bunch of over grown teenagers here this week as well as tonight. Though with what Robert said we don't need it turning into a circus this week."

"So with that fact in mind you guys, watch where you aim that pillow or we're getting caught in the crossfire, and I get hit and you're really going to it." Todd said with an amused smile at that. Hearing that remark I couldn't hold it in and started laughing at the remark as Theo answered that with an amused smile as she looked between her trio smiling then, as she added on to that remark with an amused look on her face.

"Alright, before you start going at it, ease up you two, because we're not doing this at the table and second if I'm the third member of your trio and Todd our quartet, if this is meant to change things. Though if from what he said is true, you start going at it and we're going to wind up in the middle, so I think tonight, let's just head it off here. Although I'm starting to think if this was that movie whatever this is just activated."

"With a week together I think we can get used to being around each other's personalities, but don't start acting like a couple teenagers when that happens okay." Theo said to them with a smile and I hid mine. Being around the duo was doing a lot of good and I knew the duo could see that now. 'Well that helps, she's around others with a different personality than hers and it's helping her to open up now.'

'We're already connecting now and with the way things are going I don't doubt we're going to be really close friends now if this keeps up.' I saw Todd thinking at the amused look on his face then as he patted her shoulder gently and she smiled at him. Just as he got ready to answer her I heard another slight crash, before hearing a loud splash and we exchanged looks as we heard several explosions of water in there.

"Great, first a hockey game and now a water fight, if this was that, the third film, and..." Mary started to say and Eleanor nodded. "The seven just got reunited with each other, their possible adoptive big sister just got reunited with them. And now the first session the latest arrival just had, results in a case of anger management at the moment. Said management, first a pillow fight and now this." she said as we heard the noise then.

"Well the wiseacre fooling around with the billiard balls just got into a water fight in there." Todd said and she nodded in agreement. "With a bunch of twelve year olds in this house it's either pillow fights or water fights, and they've been pent up too long. So I bet with me arriving now, they get the chance to let loose, if that explains what's going on in there." she said and we nodded to that as she called out to our invisible charges then.

"Alright whoever started that, I'm ending it guys, now cool it already." She called out and we chuckled as she looked at us. "Kids, sooner or later the wiseacres screwing around with the pool table are going to come in here and start a bickering match. And in over who caused that water fight in the kitchen, if this is what being in a house full of preteens is like at the moment." I said to her remark and she chuckled as she answered me.

"Yeah well don't give them any ideas here, otherwise they are going to do that, and with that. Though at the moment I don't think it's just that one group of preteen ghosts let alone my relatives, the place has to have several running loose in it, or someone else." she said and he nodded, before he could answer the salt shaker jumped off the table in answer to that and tried to get out of the room as I looked at it walking away.

"Again cool it wise guy, get back up on the table or you're getting sent to your room." Luke said and it put itself back the table at his stern tone and she exchanged amused looks at this with him as she answered him. "This keeps up I think he's trying to test your patience with practical jokes in the punchline guys." she said as she tried to keep from laughing at this as I answered that with a slight smile on my face.

"Yes well the practical jokes certainly seem to be lightening up the mood at the moment here. Though you guys start trying to scare us and you're in a time out, you rascals." I said, before Theo answered that with a smile. "Yeah so what's next exactly: the salt and pepper shakers getting into a fight next, because this is getting ridiculous here after what happened in the foyer?" Theo asked and she smiled as she answered her at that.

Before she could though I heard a slight crack of marble on marble, followed by a thunk and looked over my shoulder to see the kids knocking each other into the wall and into the cabinet by her chair as the quartet exchanged amused looks. "I don't believe this, I think they got the message, but I think your remark hit the table." Luke said to me smiling while Todd said what I thinking with a chuckle as he looked at the seven smiling.

"And you had to ask Theo, again with the asking for attention to be used now, and evidently they never get to be after dark here either up until now, and they're looking for some attention and want to be played with. Just as regular billiard balls, though if we're they're designated guardians, I think we got chosen to act as their guardians for the week." Todd said with an amused look and I looked at the 32 balls with a stern look.

"Do I need to repeat myself you guys, we'll play with you later get back on that table right now, tonight is just meet and greet, tomorrow you get some attention. Now no more of this and you keep this up, and we're not using you at all this week, get back in there." I said and they left the room slowly, like they were sad to leave us and the red one rolled up to her and bumped her leg to ask a question to her.

Before she could say it Andy and Eddie started bumping each other back and forth and I knew they were arguing, as I watched them fight, I didn't have to hear their voices to know my remark came to the fore as she said it for me as she looked at the duo gently. "I don't care who started that water fight, I'm ending it, I hear any more crashes come out of that kitchen or another fight that results in you getting thrown across the room."

"And you two, guys, are both grounded for a week and we're not using you at all this week." She said and the sixteen turned their numbers up to her as she finished her remark sternly as she looked at Andy and his gang then firmly. "Now I want that kitchen cleaned up by the time the Dudleys get back." she said and the trio jumped as the duo left the room as Robbie bumped her in the foot to ask a question.

"Sarah where in the series are you exactly, if you had a secondary version of yourself and a purple ball added to the group?" she asked and she tapped that to her. "When your character met her replacement and your character lost her powers and gave them to her friend. Alright let me take a guess, Rosie is playing your character's replacement and the purple ball was meant to signify her new color?" she asked and she jumped once to that.

"How many portions of the series are you in exactly, because I counted ten of you?" she asked and she, Rose and a yellow stripe moved next to each other and she smiled. "Yeah okay I get it, it's the week that your character wrote that letter, and came to see Andy's, before it arrived and you and your friends, your quintet. They are either choosing both sides or taking sides in this scenario, and that's why Andy and Eddie were going at it."

"Andy was telling him it's private and what goes on between you two is between you, Annie and Robbie, and you alone?" she said and the trio, Robbie, and a yellow standing next to the stripe all jumped at that. "Robbie, is this like four months before your look alike came back in the alternate reality version to that break up letter. If you got gold dots all over you?" she asked and he jumped once to answer her and we nodded gently.

"I get you're ticked that he hurt her, but you do what Andy did and you're in big trouble, clear." I said and jumped once and then tapped out a sentence to us at that. "Sorry kiddo, you heard him, go back into your playroom, we'll play with you tomorrow." Eleanor said in answer to the silent question as he bumped her foot a second time to ask for something and her tone turned firm, as she looked betwern the 12 at that question.

"Who else took both sides in this situation between you and Andy and your characters exactly?" she asked and Billy rolled in and with him was another red and a black. "So that makes eleven, so seven chose both sides while Jenny and Eddie chose sides. In this situation and Andy is telling him it's not his business and to but out, it's private. Alright I'm just repeating the advice of our generation if you were kids living in our timeline."

"Long distance relationships never work in order and to prevent that relationship from falling apart, best to take a step back and rebuild the bond. Till you're back together and pretend you are, if you got a vulture looking for a freebie. If that's the reason you threw Daniel into the fountain and he knocked him across the room. So you just want us to act like your parents if you were still alive?" she asked and the nine all jumped together.

"Alright we will then and with that, if this results in someone getting blown across the room I'm learning what it is he said and they're in big trouble. But we're dealing with it in the morning, though I hear another crash come out of that kitchen. Especially if the boys get into a fist fight and you're grounded and we're not playing with you when you're like this." I said to her and she jumped as Eleanor finished her sentence then gently.

"No not tonight, tonight is just meet and greet between us adults, then tomorrow you guys get attention, now again no more of this. At the moment the quintet and I are in the middle of getting to know each other and we need a chance to do it alone. Now go on, go join your playmates." she said gently and they rolled out of the room and she looked at me in amusement at this as she gave her thoughts on this.

"What was that about if Andy was knocking Eddie back like that, I could hear the furious tone in the taps?" Luke asked and she explained to us with a look of bemusement on her face. "They're doing an alternate reality version of that Dear John letter episode, and the stripe was the secondary replacement. But regarding this that explains the explosions and crashes in the kitchen." She told us bemused and I nodded as I hid a smile.

"I guess that answers your question here Theo, though at the moment I don't doubt that's going to keep up tonight, or the rest of the week. Though I'm not entirely sure yet, but what I can say is that with playful stunts like this are. We got a bunch of kids hanging around us at the moment and it's kids that are from eight to early teens. So preteen to teenage years here, as to that, that's why they're getting aggressive with each other."

"But in their timeline, instead of acting like twelve year olds they acted like they were thirteen to fifteen at least. And no less, so there's going to be disappearing acts with the food and staples, possessing the equipment that, as adults, we like to play with, like the pool table. In addition to water fights, and now a fork getting launched across the table, if they try that next, though they do try that and it's the stern parent act next."

"Then again for us we're like our parents and Dad would see this as a reason to be acting like the man that played Jason's father on that episode, mom was like Kim's mother. But two alphas and Omega and at the moment, the secondary alpha is so pissed. He's likely going green ranger and throwing his original secondary beta across the room here now." Eleanor said, and she nodded to her as Luke answered her with an amused look.

"Yeah well if it's pranks at the dinner table, than what's next exactly?" Luke asked, and before she could say it, I saw the basket of rolls shift position as it started edging it's way off the table. "It's our food trying to escape, before it gets eaten. Alright wise guy, put that back, we're not done yet." Todd said in answer to that and it stopped and edged itself back into position as Theo hid a laugh at this as she looked at Eleanor.

"You get the feeling this is going to keep up all week here though?" she asked Eleanor nodded to her. "For gods sakes this is getting ridiculous at the moment." Todd said and I nodded in agreement to that as the shakers started knocking each other. And back and forth, watching them as the jolts had them moving closer to the edge of the table. "Anyone want to bet that this keeps up and we're acting like parents for real here."

"As these guys are acting no older then high school students?" Mary asked and she nodded. "No bets, we're no doubt going to have to and guys, guys, you do that you're going to knock each other right off the table. And make a mess, so stop the wrestling, you're not human at the moment." she said and they settled at that, before the basket of rolls tried to edge it's way off the table a second time as I tried to keep from laughing.

As I reached out and grabbed it this time as I tried to hold back a chuckle as I put it in the center of the table. "Aw, nice try pal, you're not going anywhere right now, we're not done eating yet." I told it and she hid a chuckle as I looked at her gently. "Great our foods trying to escape right now, while the added staples are trying to start a fight, we got the billiard balls getting into a bickering match and a ball version of a fist fight."

"In the foyer and again after we heard that explosion after one of them started a water fight, Alright that's five, so what's next exactly, because is getting ridiculous right now?" Todd asked her and she went into it. Just as she was about to answer, a fork got launched across the table in answer to that, before it started flying back and forth, like a kid was playing with a toy rocket launcher and I leaned back slightly.

"Better stay clear of the table, so nobody takes a hit by accident, because there's been several eye related incidents on it." I said and she nodded in agreement. "Yeah stay out of range, I've have to deal with several injuries involving silverware after mom sliced her hand at one point." she told me and I nodded to that as Luke said it for me then. "I remember doing this when I was their age, and a friend nearly poked his eye out."

"Yeah, I'd say these kids are not much older than fifteen Nell, alright listen you little wiseacres you better take a break. Or you're getting detention in the morning, because silverware is dangerous if you try that, now cool it." Luke added sternly. "These sudden jolts in intrusions are getting a bit too playful at the moment, this is getting ridiculous here." Todd added, before the salt shaker tried to sneak it's way off the table at that.

"Hold it right there pal get back to the center of the table right now." Luke said and it froze and slowly put itself back into place and we chuckled. "We were like this at this age, but as we grew up we changed, but they're trying to test us as their new guardians at the moment." Eleanor said and we nodded in agreement. "Yeah and like any other preteen or teenager they have to have limits, and they're testing ours right now."

"And at the moment, I feel like we're the parents of a bunch ten years who are trying to test our limits with sneaking food into places they shouldn't or they're getting sassy and now trying to push our limits after the fight in the foyer. Though now I'm feeling like we wound up in a high school cafeteria with a bunch of freshman fooling around with the plastic silverware and the added staples at the table during a lunch break."

"Though it's a good way to lighten up the mood right now after what you just told us Nell." Mary said to her and Luke nodded in agreement to that as she looked at him. "Well someone's trying to escape being used right now." Theo said with an amused look and I looked down to see the pepper trying to sneak it's way off the table and Luke sighed in aggravation as he said it, as I hid a chuckle at the bemused look on his face.

"Hold it right there pal get back to the center of the table right now." Luke said and it froze and slowly put itself back into place as Mary started laughing at that I hid mine as she said what we were both thinking then at what was going on. "This is going too far right now, but our adopted cubs are trying to test us too much tonight right now." she said and Mary nodded with a bemused smile as she answered that.

"Alright now I really am feeling like we wound up in a high school cafeteria with a bunch of freshman fooling around with the plastic silverware and the added staples at the table during a lunch break. Though if these keeps up, someone is going to make off with dessert next." Mary said to her with a chuckle and Luke nodded in agreement to that as she looked at him as she decided to get into new conversation.

"I think they started something, mom knows I love kids and these kids are trying to get my attention at every turn right now. Though I think that's why mom gave me that necklace, I'm their surrogate mother and you guys the adoptive aunts and uncles." Eleanor said and we chuckled. "Maybe, but this is getting out of hand right now at the moment, but kids, that's enough of this right now." Luke called out at that remark.

"So you said you're getting ready to work as an architect?" Eleanor asked Luke and he smiled as he answered her. "Yeah I took this as a side plan, but my first post is two months down the line from now and I'm going to be working on the skyscraper out in Boston. Though I took studies on sleep deprivation I never did it in a haunted house before." He said and she nodded as she answered him smiling at that remark.

"Looks like you're getting a first class training session into the life of a parapsychologist though. Though what I will say is, if we got the usual case of nuts in this, like the remark that case worker said on Beetlejuice. Haunted houses, and I mean true haunted houses, are not easy to come by. But poltergeist intrusions are sporadic at times, but it's seems like it's clear and normal ghosts here."she said and as we heard a thunk in response.
