Annabeth POV

Piper may be trying to ruin my life.

Prom was scheduled for the Saturday before graduation. In my opinion, this was such a horrible set up because Prom was a big enough deal for some people without the complication of getting ready for graduation. Our school is so stupid.

Anyway, Piper decided that all the girls need to get ready together at her house.

This meant that i had to take my dress and shoes, try not to wrinkle anything, and transport them to Piper's house on Saturday. My dad and Helen were disappointed that they wouldn't see me in my dress beforehand. They also wanted to take pictures with me and Percy, who told me that he'd be buying a matching bow-tie to my dress.

It was Percy's way of asking me to prom, and (of course), I said yes. We were already going to end up together at Prom anyway.

"Annabeth, your dress is so gorgeous," Piper squealed excitedly.

"Thanks, Piper."

I decided on a navy blue dress that was bedazzled with sequin. There was a slit along the side that travelled up to my left thigh. It was a sleeveless dress that actually wraps around my neck, leaving me backless. It was classy yet revealing, perfect for me. I decided to accessorize with silver hanging earrings and silver stilettos.

The progress of getting ready was slow, mostly because Piper wanted all of us to get the full experience. This included facials, mani-pedis, and makeup.

I went for the more natural look.

Staring at the finished product in the mirror, I couldn't believe. It didn't look like me, yet also looked exactly like me.

"Girl, you look stunning," Rachel screamed. "Percy's gonna flip his lid."

I turned to face her. Rachel was in a signature red dress, plain and simple. She didn't have any date, but it didn't matter. She'd be joining her friends for a night of fun.

"Me? Look at yourself," I smiled.

"Percy is such a lucky guy," Rachel said wistfully.

Rachel had been such a good sport to me and Percy after realizing that we had gotten together. Obviously, Rachel admitted to liking Percy, but she seemed to settle things out. They were better as friends, and I was grateful that this didn't affect our friendship too.

Around 6 o'clock, the guys started arriving to Piper's house.

We waited in the living room, making sure that everything was ready. Piper even hired a professional photographer to take pictures at the house and backyard.

Jason and Piper looked so happy as they took pictures. They'd be going to different colleges, but I'm sure they'll figure out the long distance.

After all, they loved each other.

I decided to accept my offer to Columbia. It was one of the best universities in the country, but it was also close to home. It has an excellent architecture program, but more than that, I wanted to stay near most of my friends and family and Percy.

Speaking of Percy, he had just arrived.

All the boys looked sharp today, but Percy looked incredibly handsome. Her hair was combed and gelled back; he looked tall and fair in his tuxedo.

I smiled while standing up. He approached me with a dropped jaw. His eyes were wide and sparkling, seeming to not be able to get enough of my visual.

"Wow," Percy choked on his voice.

"You look...Oh MY GOD."

I blushed while reaching forward to close his opened mouth. Percy fixed his face and kissed my cheek in greeting. "You look beautiful. Thanks for agreeing to prom."

"Who else would i have gone with?" I asked rhetorically.

"Literally, any guy would've been joyous to take you, Wise Girl," he replied. Percy was smiling as he attached a corsage to my wrist.

I grabbed his hand and led him to the backyard. The photographer had just finished with Frank and Hazel, and I wanted to get to prom as quick as possible. Percy and I stood in several couples poses as instructed as instructed by the female photographer.

"Wow, y'all make such a cute couple," she said in her British accept.

"Thanks," Percy replied, not denying that we were a couple anymore. We both knew better than to deny it. Somehow, our relationship had slowly transitioned from frenemies, to friends, to a brief relationship, to friends again, to lovers and a wholesome couple.

"So, that wasn't awkward?" I asked him, teasingly.

"Why would it be awkward?" Percy said chuckling. "People are just going to assume that we're dating based on how we act around each other."

"And you're okay with that?" I asked quietly, wanting his answer.

"Yeah, I think so," Percy replied, smiling happily.

I gazed into his beautiful sea-green eyes before wrapping my arms round his neck and pulling him in for a nice kiss.

It was one of the sweetest, most caring of kisses. It wasn't until later that I realized the photographer kept taking pictures of us through our conversation and our kiss. I need to tell Piper to give an extra tip for her service.

Why? Because, her photos captured one of the best moments of my life.

...

Prom night was amazing.

I had so much fun with my friends and with Percy. A lot of the music was fast-paced leading to high energy dancing. It was wild.

However, I enjoyed the slow songs with Percy.

My arms were wrapped around his neck while his hands rested comfortably against my waist. Percy, being a swimmer, was quite tall. But, fortunately, I'm a fairly tall woman, so the height different worked out. My head leaned against his shoulder as we swayed to the music. I felt so comfortable being in his arms.

We were lost in our own world, completely ignoring everything around us.

It didn't matter that someone was making announcements on the stage. Dinner was being served buffet-style, but we weren't hungry. Our friends were trying to call us from the dance floor, but we were enjoying ourselves too much.

Yup, we were in our own world.

I leaned off of Percy's shoulder and looked into his eyes.

Percy smiled happily while squeezing my waist. I glared at him playfully, causing a smirk to enter his face. we continued swaying side-to-side. Keep the slow songs coming, I thought.

"Are you ready for the Olympic Trials?" I asked.

"Yup. I'm actually really excited. I've been working so hard for the past year, setting aside spending time with friends and family and you. I'm ready to show my best work," Percy said, smiling while twirling me in a circle.

"Aren't you nervous? This might be the biggest thing you've ever done," I said.

"Well, yeah. But, it's the good kind of nerves," he expressed.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm feeling the kind of nerves that I felt when I first kissed you on Christmas. Remember, how tentative that kiss was. I feel good," Percy chuckled to himself.

"When are you leaving?" I asked seriously.

"My coaches and I will get started tomorrow morning," Percy answered. "We don't want to miss our flight or anything."

"I probably won't see you then, huh?" I said sadly.

Percy just smiled at me before taking my hand. His large hand felt so warm around my smaller one. He led me off the dance floor and towards the gym's exit doors. The moon was shining brightly, and since it was summertime, the air was warm.

It was such a beautiful night. We walked along the sidewalk. I hadn't even realized that Percy swiped two fruit pouches on our way out.

I laughed while taking a drink, poking the straw into the packet.

"Hmm, I'm not a fan of this one," I protested immediately. I had taken the grape juice, which in my opinion, was the least tasty fruit punch.

Percy chuckled while trading juices with me.

The cherry drink was better.

"Why did you bring me out here?" I asked. "We could've just kept dancing."

"I just wanted a moment alone, Wise Girl," Percy said, pulling closer to him while leading to his car. He didn't make a move to open the door but instead, he just leaned against the windows. I followed, standing next to him. It was so peaceful and comfortable.

"You already have your bags set in the back," I acknowledged.

"Nothing gets past you..." Percy murmured. "Yeah, I might be sleeping in tomorrow, so I wanted to be prepared."

I leaned my head on his shoulder. His head rested on top of mine.

We continued sipping our drinks in silence.

"Good luck, Seaweed brain. You're going to do great, but good luck. I know that you're more anxious than you're letting on," I stated the obvious.

"Your words don't help me much," Percy said sternly.

I looked at him in shock.

"A good luck kiss may have a better impact," Percy smirked at my shocked expression. I rolled my eyes before glaring at him. "It was a joke, Wise Girl."

"Well, I didn't take it as a joke," I said seriously.

Percy gulped and tried to apologize for ruining the mood, but I shushed him.

Instead, I grabbed the collar of his tuxedo and pulled him in front of me. Percy staggered towards me in surprise as my fist tightened around his suit. His eyes sparkled in the short distance between us.

"For good luck," I whispered.

Then, I pressed my lips to his. After our kiss, I smirked at Percy's utterly dazed expression. Then, I took his hand and led him back to our prom.

"Okay...I'm pathetic if I don't win after that." Percy muttered, making me laugh like always.

I love chocolate so much, especially Hershey's White Crunch and Milky Way. What is your favorite kind of chocolate bar?
