Chiron POV

I walked behind Perseus as he walked into the locker room of the main swimming facility. There are three pool buildings at this sports complex, but the finals are held at the main pool.

Large crowds were situated in the stands behind the Olympic Committee members, coaches, and other competitors. We can hear the activity even into the crowded locker room.

"I want to see Reyna compete," Percy stated.

"You need to be focused on your own competition, Percy, which is right after her event," I said. "It's best to not go out and watch Reyna."

"She's my closest friend from the swimming world. I want to support her," Percy said firmly.

I nodded and walked with Percy into the pool room. We dodged the bustling people on sides of the pool room and headed to the stands.

"It already started," Percy said.

We stood on the edge of the stands, watching the swimmers start the Freestyle 1600m. Reyna didn't qualify for the Olympics in the 400m and 800m category. This was Reyna's last chance, but the 1600m was also her best event, considering stamina and endurance was Reyna's best suit.

"She's got this," Percy said.

It took a few more minutes for this finals to finish, and it was too close to tell the order. Four of the eight girls seemed to reach the end at the same time. Even with my trained eye, I couldn't quite tell.

Percy and I looked at the scoreboard at the same time.

Reyna's full name and time popped onto the screen in the first spot, above the other names. She beat the second-place winner by 12 milliseconds.

"She did it," Percy cheered.

I smiled in relief. I had gotten to know Terminus and Reyna though Percy's friendship with her.

"This is amazing for her. She's going to attend the Olympics in Greece," I said brightly. Then, my gaze fell upon Lupa fast approaching us, her face stern.

"Perseus, what are you doing out here? You're supposed to be preparing in the locker room," Lupa said gruffly.

"I'm already changed," Percy said quickly.

Percy was in tight navy swim shorts, with the Olympia logo on them. Those were my design, and Percy wanted to wear his home club's gear. He was already wearing his swim cap and goggles too. A towel was around his shoulders.

The crowd was getting louder now as the top two swimmers for the 1600n Women's were being announced.

"It's a mental game," Lupa stated loudly. "Chiron, you should've known better than to let him out before one of the biggest races of his life."

"He wanted to watch his friend compete—"

"Don't blame, Chiron. He's awesome."

Percy and I spoke at the same time. Then, we both sighed and headed to the locker rooms.

The Butterfly 200m finals would be held in about 20 minutes. Percy needed to be ready both physically and mentally. I put my hand on Percy's shoulder as we walked into the locker rooms.

We sat on the wooden bench next to his locker. Other swimmers and their coaches were walking around us, but my eyes stayed trained on Percy.

"Got this, Perseus?" I asked.

"I'm going to give it my all," he said firmly. Percy looked determined and passionate; I had faith in him but he's also up against stiff competition.

"Just do you, Percy. Be you in the water," I advised.

He nodded even though he's heard all these things from me, Lupa, and countless others. The special thing about Percy is that he listens. He's too loyal to people to not listen to what they have to say.

Butterfly 200m finals were today while Butterfly 100m finals were tomorrow. He had two shots to make it to the Olympics; hopefully, he takes both.

Percy was required to get to his podium at lane 6 five minutes before the race. He walked out confidently with a smile on his face.

He didn't acknowledge the crowd or the cameras, but he looked calm and relaxed and focused. Percy had become a fan favorite for his personality. The crowd cheered as the eight swimmers to their stance on their respective springboards.

Lupa and I stood together close to Percy's lane.

"He's got this," Lupa whispered shakily.

I was too anxious to talk. This was the biggest thing that Percy would do.

Come on, Perseus.

The shot fired, and the eight swimmers dove straight into the pool. Time seemed to slow for me.

I watched Percy pushed through the water in rival to the other swimmers. His skill was spectacular, and he was incorporating everything Lupa and I taught him. He flip turned at the shallow and swam back towards the deep end. He reached it and flip turned again, already finished half the race.

My breath caught in my throat without my knowledge; I was just holding my breath at this point.

Three swimmers reached the deep end around the same time. To the naked eye, you wouldn't be able to tell who reached first between Triton, Ponty, and Perseus.

Lupa gripped my arm tightly.

My gaze flitted to the scoreboard. Percy's time read 1:54.26. A very competitive time.

His name was right below Triton's.

Percy finished second!

He's in the top 2!

"HE DID IT!" Lupa screamed, clapping her hands wildly, tears pooling in her eyes.

I was simply frozen.

After all our hard work and dedication. After such a bumpy journey over the past four years. Percy did it. He made it.

Percy's going to the Olympics!

...

Jason POV

"LET'S GOOO," I cheered.

The whole group shouted and laughed and cried in excitement. We were so proud of Percy; we were watching the Butterfly 100m and 200m on repeat.

Percy finished second for both events, so he'll be competing in both events at the Olympics, representing the US Olympic team.

"I'm so proud of him. That's my baby," Sally cried while Paul held her, proudly.

"I can't believe it..."

"It's crazy..."

"Percy deserves it. He worked his fucking ass off this year. He fucking did it," Leo shouted louder than everyone in the room.

Annabeth beamed at all the compliments. I was also just so dam happy for my best friend!

Everyone had come to the Jackson residence today to watch Percy's second finale performance. Yesterday, he passed the Butterfly 200m, and today, he crushed the Butterfly 100m.

Furthermore, I was really happy for my ex-girlfriend, Reyna, who is on the Olympic team for the Women's 1600m freestyle. She's phenomenal, so she completely deserves it.

Here are the Men's Butterfly results: 100m will be swam by Ponty Ussie and Percy. 200m will be swam by Triton and Percy. Percy will be competing in both events. Ponty and Triton both qualified for other freestyle events too.

"Guys, Percy's giving an interview," Annabeth shouted for everyone to shut up.

She grabbed the remote and turned up the volume.

We've been at the Jackson residence all day, hours after Percy's final 100m. It made sense that some athletes would be interviewed at the end of the day.

A beautiful blonde woman, named Freya, was interviewing Percy.

They seemed to be standing outside of the sports complex. People were walking around, and a crowd was around the interview area as well. Chiron and Lupa seemed to be giving their own interviews in the background.

Percy was wearing Olympic navy sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt. He was giving his signature smile to the interviewer and camera.

"How do you feel right now?" Freya asked.

"That's probably the worst question you could ask," Percy answered sassily. "Could you imagine if I said anything other than overjoyed with happiness and pride?"

Freya and Percy laughed at the joke. I smiled at my best friend in tv. I wish he was right next to me. In the same room.

I'd probably kill him with an embrace.

"You're going to the Olympics. Are you excited for Greece?" Freya asked next.

"I'm so excited. Greece is somewhere that I've always wanted to visit. Hopefully, the plane ride doesn't scare me too much," Percy chuckled, referencing his fear of flying.

"You're on national/international television, so you want to say anything to anyone?"

"Yeah, abosutely..."

Percy turned to the camera and paused to gather his thoughts. It must be so joyous but also overwhelming for him. In the silence, the crowd behind Percy cheered his name.

Everyone in Sally's apartment also cheered. Annabeth laughed next to me.

We were standing fairly close to the tv, glued to it.

"I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way. My mom, Sally Blofis, especially has been my greatest rock through this process. And, my stepdad, Paul too. Even when they didn't understand what I could get from swimming, they were always on my side..."

Sally and Paul had tears in their eyes as they watched their son from their couch. They were so proud as they should be.

"Also, my coaches. I wouldn't be where I am right now without Chiron and Lupa. They molded me in the right direction, and I'm so grateful..."

Percy looked behind him at Chiron and Lupa while smiling.

Freya seemed to be close to tears as she wiped her beautiful face of her tears. Percy smiled again and returned to face the camera. I could feel his bright sea-green eyes on me and Annabeth and everyone else in the room.

"And, my friends. I couldn't have done it without them. They've been my rock through this whole journey since freshman year. Thank you, Jason and Rachel, my best friends who helped me stay sane and healthy. And, Annabeth who taught me to put myself first and believe in myself..."

Rachel wiped tears off her face as I beamed with pride. Annabeth smiled, you could visibly see how much she loves Percy. I'm so glad that they found each other over the past year.

The best thing about Percy is his loyalty and affinity to be grateful to the people around him.

"That was beautiful," Freya commented. "Once again, Congratulations, Percy Jackson!"

Percy's fans behind him, his friends and family in his apartment cheered.

Everyone cheered, "CONGRATS PERCY."
