Jason woke at 5am on Saturday morning. Looking over to the other side of the bed, he saw his beautiful wife sleeping deeply. Jason smiled at the sight of her. After being together for just about 9 years, he was still amazed that Aria was as in love with him as he had been in love with her. Carefully and slowly getting out of bed, he made his way out of their bedroom and down the stairs. Stepping into the kitchen, he turned the radio on quietly as he took out the ingredients to the breakfast he was planning on waking Aria up with. Jason opened all the windows of the kitchen so that the smell of the food wouldn't waft upstairs and awaken his sleeping beauty. Jason made Aria chocolate chip pancakes, pancakes with bacon and syrup aswell as taking the coffee cake that Aria's mom had made and delivered late last night. Jason put the food on a tray before he brewed Aria a cup of coffee and himself a huge glass of orange juice.
Carefully balancing it all on the white breakfast in bed tray, Jason made his way back up the stairs to wake Aria up. He placed the tray on the ottoman infront of their bed just incase Aria kicked out when she was waking up and knocked everything off the tray. Jason smiled at Aria as she hugged the pillow she was resting on. Jason bent down to press a kiss to Aria's temple.
"Good morning, baby.." he whispered before kissing around her ear and hairline. Jason smiled when he felt Aria's hand reach out behind her to touch his face. He stopped kissing her and saw that Aria was still sleeping. "Baby, wake up.." he kissed Aria's earlobe.
Aria shifted in her sleep and Jason watched her eyes flutter open.
"Happy birthday." He wished her before pressing a kiss to her lips.
"Thank you. What time is it?"
"5.30.."
"Why are you awake so early?" she asked as she ran her fingers through Jason's hair.
"I figured I'd surprise you with something this morning before the kids wake up and ruin it."
"What is it?" Aria asked as she sniffed lightly. "Did you make me breakfast?" Aria smiled at the smell of the pancakes.
"Yep." Jason stood up and walked to the ottoman while Aria sat up against the headboard.
"Oh wow." Aria commented when Jason placed the tray on her lap. "You're spoiling me Jase.."
"You deserve to be spoiled." He told her as he stood up on the bed and stepped over her legs to get back on his side of the bed.
"Thank you." Aria turned her head to kiss Jason who was know sitting next to her.
Jason kissed her back before taking his glass of juice.
"Where do I begin?" Aria wondered. Aria took one of the pieces of bacon and took a bite before placing it near Jason's mouth. "I know you like your bacon."
"I do." Jason took a big bite of it.
Aria threw the last little bit into her mouth before picking up the knife and fork to dig into the syrup covered pancakes. "These pancakes are for us to share right?" Aria asked looking at Jason.
"I made them especially for you."
Aria cocked her head to the side and looked at Jason with disapproving eyes. "Are you trying to make me fat?"
"No, not at all." He smiled.
"Have something because I won't be able to finish this entire tray."
"I'll just have whatever you don't eat."
"Or we could eat together.." Aria suggested as she fed him a big piece of a pancake.
"If you want." Jason shrugged.
Aria and Jason polished off the pancakes and coffee cake together, Jason took the tray from Aria's lap and placed it on the carpet next to his side of the bed. Jason turned back round and lay down on his side while pulling Aria down onto her back with him.
"What are you doing?" she giggled.
"The kids are still sleeping.." he informed Aria as he ran his hand up and down one of her thighs.
Aria curled into Jason and ran her knuckles over his exposed collarbones and chest.
"I was thinking.." Jason started.
"Thinking?"
"That I should take this opportunity to show you just how happy I can make you on your birthday."
"And how do you plan on doing that?" Aria asked as she looked up into Jason's eyes.
Jason leant down and whispered into Aria's ear.
Aria bit on her lip as she listened to how Jason planned on bringing her so much pleasure before the twins woke up.
Jason smiled devilishly at Aria. "Should I lock the door?" he asked.
"That would probably be a good idea." Aria told him brushing her hand across his shoulder and down his arm.
Aria watched Jason lock their bedroom door and walk back over to his side of the bed. She opened her arms for him when he reached the bed and wrapped them around his neck as he hovered over her and peppered kisses along her jaw before reaching her lips.
Colton and Scarlett woke at 7pm which left Jason and Aria with some time to get showered and dressed after their steamy morning/birthday sex. After spending the morning opening presents Jason had bought with the twins input, the family drove over to Ella's to spend some time with her. Normally, Ella would come to Aria's but she had broken her ankle and the only way she could get over to bring Jason the coffee cake last night was because Mike was able to give her a lift. But with Mike out of town with friends for the day, Ella was completely futile.
The whole family took care of Ella even though it was Aria's special day. Jason surprised Aria and Ella by making lunch for everyone. He even set the table without any assistance.
"Mmm daddy, you cook nice food!" Scarlett praised Jason.
"Thank you, baby girl. Do you like it buddy?" Jason asked Colton who was sitting over the table next to Ella.
He shrugged. "It's okay but I'm not that hungry."
"You didn't eat much breakfast today. How come you're still not hungry?" Aria asked concerned that her son was being fussy.
"I don't know.."
"Was there something else you felt like eating?" Ella asked.
Colton shook his head.
"Col, if you don't eat dinner, you can't have some of mama's birthday cake!" Scarlett told him from the other side of Ella.
"Thank you Scarlett, just carry on eating your dinner please." Aria told her daughter.
"Did something happen at school yesterday?" Jason asked.
Colton looked up at him and shook his head. "I don't wanna talk about it, Dad."
"Colton. Buddy. Tell me if something is bothering you.." Jason put his fork down and looked sympathetically at his son.
"Baby, you can tell us." Aria encouraged Colton to open up about what was happening.
"The boys at school were being mean to me."
"What were they doing?"
"They all try and hurt me when we are playing soccer on the fields."
"Hurt you?" Aria asked.
"They kick me and pull on my shirt so that I fall."
Jason and Aria breathed deeply.
"What are the boys names?" Jason asked.
"There's Josh, Michael, Alex.."
"Alex? I thought he was your best friend.." Jason questioned.
"He said he doesn't want to be my friend anymore because I suck at soccer and he's better." Colton told them tearfully.
"Did you tell your teachers?" Aria asked.
Colton shook his head.
"Why, baby?" Aria asked.
"They won't care."
"Of course they will! It's their job to care for you while you're away from your mom and dad. Oh baby!" Aria got out of her chair at the table and walked over to embrace Colton.
"Why do they hurt me mommy?" Colton cried as he wrapped his arms around Aria.
"Oh my sweet boy." Aria's voice broke a little as she picked him up off the chair. "There are some nasty people in this world and I don't have answers for why they do the things they do. I wish I did have an answer.." Aria kissed his cheek and walked with him in her arms over to the lounge.
Jason looked over the table at Scarlett who was looking around to see where Aria and Colton had gone. Her eyes were glossy and Jason could tell she was going to cry too.
"Hey, Scar.. what's wrong?"
"I didn't know Colton was sad at school. How come his friends made him cry?"
"They're not his friends, baby. They're just mean boys who need to sort out their behaviour."
"They hurt my brother." Scarlett said sadly.
"Come here.." Jason gestured for her to sit with him.
"Your mommy and I are going to sort this out on monday and then those boys will leave Colton alone. I promise." Jason wrapped his arms around Scarlett as she sat on his lap. He looked over the table at Ella who was looking at Scarlett deep in thought. "This is crazy." Jason said prompting Ella to look up at him. "Surely they have monitors who oversee the kids as they play."
The family stayed at Ella's for another hour before going back home.
