A small breeze filled Mt Coronet. A small, white and red pokeball blew from side to side as it did so. The wind was calm, soothing even as it blew through. No pokemon were around, no humans, no darkness. Everything seemed to have receded from the area.

A life body laid in the middle of the mountain. Keith laid with blood flowing from his side. He hadn't moved since he had been stabbed. His breathing was shallow.

The pokeball beside the boy suddenly shot open. Lucario stood tall and proud as he looked around. He had sensed Cynthia's plan when she had thought it and had dropped his pokemon before she was consumed by the darkness.

Lucario walked over to Keith, he pulled the boy up slightly, pushing him against a rock before looking around. He had to wake the red head up somehow… but there was no water, nothing he could use to splash the boy. He didn't really want to hit him either.

So, Lucario resided to nudging the boy in order to try and wake him. He nudged Keith's shoulder. Nothing. His face. Nothing. The pokemon frowned, there had to be something he could do.

His eyes then landed the bleeding wound on Keith's side. With a small sigh and an apologetic look, the pokemon poked the open wound with his paw. Keith's eyes shot wide open as he yelped in pain, holding his side and breathing heavily.

He squeezed the wound before looking at his hands. The wound was bleeding heavily and he needed to make it subside somehow. The red head looked up at the Lucario stood in front of him. The pokemon was giving him an apologetic look as Keith smiled slightly.

"Don't worry yourself," he spoke as he pushed himself up to his feet, trying to keep his balance. Lucario willingly helped him keep his balance as he looked at the red head.

Keith shrugged his jacket off and looked at it before tearing it up slightly. He leaned on the wall behind him, tying it around his waist as tight as he could to stop the bleeding.

He was thankful that Barlow had gotten him a jacket that was a size or two too big. It made for an easy make due bandage as Keith looked around. He picked up Lucario's pokeball and frowned.

"So, this was Cynthia's plan?" the red head asked as the pokemon stood behind him, nodding his head. Keith looked around. "The darkness has disappeared from inside the mountain. Can you sense anything?" he asked as he looked at Lucario.

The blue and black pokemon pointed towards the roof of the cavern they were in as Keith frowned.

"It's coming from above us now?" Keith asked. Lucario nodded his head as he looked up towards the roof of the mountain. Keith's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he hummed slightly.

"I doubt it'll come back in here. After all… whoever's controlling it must think I'm dead by now. So, I have the element of surprise," Keith mused as he looked around and began walking towards an exit in the small cavern.

"All I need to do is find my way to the top and figure out how to save the entire world," Keith laughed slightly at the thought before shaking his head.

"Where the hell's Kate when I need her?" he asked as he continued on his way up through the mountain.

"Seren!" Kate yelled as in shock as she looked at the black haired girl, who coughed. She was battered and beaten, bloodied and looked about ready to collapse and lose her life at any minute.

"Kate… sorry. We couldn't save the Hoenn Region," the black haired girl coughed as she felt chains pulled up around her arms and lift her into the air.

"Where's Kellyn?!" Sven asked as he looked at the black haired girl. Seren coughed again, blood pooling from her mouth as she did so.

"Safe… I hope," she answered with a small frown, feeling her world becoming dark as she closed her eye. Wendy looked at the girl in panic.

"Seren! Seren! Keep your eyes open! You need to stay awake. Please!" Wendy yelled as she looked at the girl. Seren groaned as she lifted her head slightly and smiled at her friends.

"I'm done here guys. Please… make sure everyone gets home safe," the black haired girl smiled as she felt blood fall from her mouth more. Kate growled as she glared at the girl.

"Don't talk like that!" she yelled, anger engulfing her. "You're gonna be fine. We all are. We're gonna get out of here!" the brunette yelled as she felt tears sting her eyes.

"Katie," a new voice spoke. Kate's head spun as she saw Cynthia chained up in the darkness as well. Her eyes widened as she looked at the blonde, not sure what to think. "I'm sorry… I didn't have a choice," Cynthia cried as she felt tears spilling down her eyes.

Kate's eyes furrowed in confusion. Not sure what the girl was talking about.

"You aren't sorry," Cynthia looked up, as did the others. All eyes landed on the Darkness Forms of Sven and Wendy.

"You willingly killed the boy," the Dark Wendy laughed as she looked at the group. They were all chained in the darkness. Hands were above their heads, but not all of them were injured.

"What are you talking about?!" Kate asked as she felt herself start to rile with anger. "Cynthia… what did you do?!" the brunette asked as she glared at the blonde. Cynthia closed her eyes, looking anywhere but Kate as she bit her lip. She had no choice, it was all she could do.

The darkness cleared and an imagine of Keith appeared. Kate looked at him in shock. He was laid on the ground, a small puddle of blood by his side. She couldn't see him breathing.

Cynthia looked at the image in shock. She hadn't meant to injure the boy that much. Honestly, she just wanted the darkness to think he was dead so Keith would have some advantage. An element of surprise, something… anything!

"Cynthia… tell me you didn't do that to him," Kate begged with pain in her voice. Cynthia felt tears stream down her face as she bit her lip.

"I didn't mean to! I never meant to hurt him that much," Cynthia cried as she felt tears spilling from her eyes. Kate bit her lip, feeling her own eyes well with tears before she growled.

"Keith… That damn Perverted Red Haired Weird Ranger Child is strong! He can handle anything that comes his way!" the brunette stated as she smiled slightly. "It wouldn't surprise me if he was making his way up the mountain as we speak… Keith… he's always pulled through for us before. This isn't going to be any different," Kate stated as she smirked and looked at the Dark Sven and Wendy.

"Do your worse! We can take it!" the brunette smirked as she glared at the two of them.

"Kate's right," Seren stated as she coughed. "One of our own won't give up," the black haired girl muttered, feeling herself become weak.

"Seren!" a new voice called. The black haired girl looked up in shock as she stared at an image of Kellyn… he was back… in human form. "Damnit! How do I get out of here?!" the brunette haired boy growled as he walked around.

"He's okay," Seren smiled as she looked down.

"Seren, stay awake!" Sven ordered.

"Tell him I'm sorry," the black haired girl muttered as she felt herself finally be consumed by darkness. Kate looked at the girl in shock, her eyes widened as she did so.

"Seren! Wake up, damnit!" Wendy yelled as she looked at the younger Ranger. The Dark Sven and Wendy disappeared quickly after the black haired girl passed out.

Kate watched in horror. Keith had been stabbed only part of her felt like he was still alive. Kellyn was stuck in the Hoenn Region. Sven, Wendy, Cynthia and she were tied up in the Darkness. She had no idea how everyone and the Union was doing… or how her family was and to make matters worse… Seren… was dying!

"Seren!" Kate yelled as she looked at the girl in front of her. The brunette's fists balled in anger as she pulled on the chains that held her.

'It's time to wake up… Summerland's Gift.'

A voice filled Kate's head as she looked around. She wasn't sure where it had come from, or who it was… though it sounded familiar. But Kate didn't understand.

She had decided not to continue as Summerland's Gift and to just be plain old Kate. To just be the Pokemon Ranger she wanted to be with her friends and family by her side.

Kate suddenly smiled, chuckling inwardly as she did so. When had anything ever been that simple? When had she ever been able to just lead a normal life? She was Summerland's Gift, whether it left her or not… she was the 'freak of nature' as some referred to her as.

Kate frowned as she remembered all the days she spent in the Ranger School. The times she laughed, the times she cried. When she felt sad and felt happy. She remembered the feelings she had developed for everyone through the school.

Rythmi and Isaac, like her brother and sister. Kellyn and Seren, her best friends. Keith… Keith… what was Keith? Keith was… well he was Keith.

He was perverted, caring, annoying, kind, idiotic, cute… cute? Really? Kate smiled to herself. Yes, Keith was cute. She felt her cheeks heat up slightly as she realised what Keith was to her.

Keith… the one she loved.

But nevertheless they were all her friends! Kate looked up, she had to save them somehow! But Summerland's Gift was gone from her… Arceus had taken it from her when she asked.

Her eyes narrowed as she thought for a moment before smirking. No… Summerland's Gift wasn't gone. Things were never that simple… there had to be some kind of energy from it left in her now.

Kate looked at Seren again… her fists balled, nails breaking the skin as she gritted her teeth, she could have sworn she felt her tooth crack.

"This isn't happening," Kate growled as she looked at the darkness in front of her. Her stomach churned as she felt something begin to awaken in side of her.

"Kate?" Cynthia asked in confusion as Sven and Wendy looked at her in shock.

"Seren… stay alive. Don't you dare die," Kate muttered as she pulled her hands down quickly with all her strength. The chains broke as Kate fell to her knees. Once she looked up again, her eyes were no longer blue. They were white.

She gripped the chain around her neck that Arceus had given her before. She growled audibly as she called the Pokemon God's name.

"Arceus!" she yelled and quickly, the darkness around Kate began to fade as it was replaced with an all too familiar scene of space.

"Katherine," Arceus spoke as he looked at the girl. The Legendary Pokemon stood surrounding the white god in shock as they all looked at her.

"Where the hell have you been?!" the brunette asked as she glared at the larger god pokemon. The Legendries cleared a path for the girl as she walked towards the pokemon who had once blessed her with power.

"I've been conversing with Giratina. Trying to figure a plan," Arceus answered as he looked at the girl in front of him.

"So, you've basically been watching?!" Kate asked, her eyes filling with anger as she stood in front of the pokemon. "You've been watching while we've all be fighting! Seren is on her death bed! Regions have disappeared! Keith has been stabbed and is doing hell knows what! Kellyn's stuck in the Hoenn Region and I don't even know what the hell is happening with the Union and Almia Region," the brunette growled as she listed things off one by one. "And all you can tell me is you've been practically sitting here and watching?!" she asked in disbelief.

Arceus fell silent as he looked at the girl in front of him. Kate's eyes turned from white back to their blue colour as she ran a hand through her bangs.

"Alright. What's your plan?" the brunette asked, giving the god pokemon the benefit of the doubt.

"We are going to give Keith the powers of Summerland's Gift," Arceus stated as Kate's eyes widened immensely.

"You're going to what?!" the brunette yelled as she looked at the white pokemon. Mew flew around the brunette haired girl with a small smile.

"It's the only think we could think of that can help," the pink pokemon stated.

"We lost contact with Giratina so-,"

"Stop. Just stop," Kate ordered as she turned to Arceus. "I'm taking control of this situation now," the brunette stated. Arceus held no objection as Kate nodded her head.

"Mew, Kellyn is stuck in the Hoenn Region. Find the brunette and take him to Keith who's making his way up Mt Coronet... I hope," Kate ordered. The pink pokemon nodded its head and quickly disappeared. "The rest of you split up. Half head to the Sinnoh Region and half to the Almia Region. My friends are trapped in this 'Darkness' I don't know if we'll be able to figure a way to get them out of it but try. If any of you do manage to figure out how, then get them out and get Seren medical attention. If not then just fight with the people in Almia to save the Region and the people in Sinnoh to save them as well. Now go," Kate ordered as all the legendries disappeared around her.

"That's some quick thinking, Kate," Arceus spoke with a small nod of his head. Kate smiled as she looked at Arceus.

"Alright, I take it you know what's going on. Start explaining," Kate ordered as she sat on the floor in front of the large god pokemon.

"Do you remember Team Galactic?" Arceus asked as Kate nodded her head. "We banished their leader, Cyrus, to the Reverse World as punishment for trying to disrupt peace with the time and space pokemon, Dialga and Palkia," Arceus started as he looked at the brunette.

"So, what does that have to do with anything?" Kate asked as she placed her hands on her hips, clearing not understand where the story was going.

"Do you remember how Giratina used to be a pokemon shrouded by darkness because he was the only one in the Reverse world?" Arceus answered with his own question.

"Course I do. He was isolated and lonely and that drove him practically insane. When he figured a way out of the Reverse World he attacked out world," Kate recalled as she shifted her weight onto another foot.

"Precisely. Well, I extracted the darkness within Giratina and granted him the power to spiritually leave the Reverse World," Arceus began explained as Kate sighed.

"Why do I get the feeling you're going to tell me you did something stupid with the darkness that was in Giratina?" the brunette asked as she pinched the bridge of her nose. If he could, Arceus would have sweat dropped as he hung his head slightly.

"I turned it into a gem, we called it the Gem of Giratina, though it looks more like a stone," the pokemon mused as he looked away from the brunette.

"Okay!" Kate called as she held her hands in front of her, almost in defence. "So, you're telling me that Cyrus has that Gem and is now using it to bring Darkness on the world and destroy everything?" the brunette asked as she looked at the pokemon.

Arceus nodded his head slowly as he looked at the girl in front of him. His eyes stung with pain as Kate sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose again before shaking her head.

"Alright. Well, how do you propose we stop this?" she asked as she looked at the pokemon, who seemed to frown slightly.

"Light conquers all that is dark. As stated I must give Keith Summerland's Gift so he may win this war," Arceus explained as Kate crossed her arms.

"Again, I'm not going to let you do that to my partner. Keith's been through enough in his life. Losing his mum, then his dad, hell knows what happened to his brother," Kate muttered as she ran a hand through her fringe. "My point is, you can't do it to him and put him through all this pain again," the brunette sighed as she rested her arms by her side, not too sure what to make of the situation.

Most of her friends had been taken by the darkness. The ones who remained were injured and probably couldn't fight as much as they liked. It was more than likely that the Almia Region was starting to fall under destruction.

Kate bit her lip. She didn't want to do what she was about to do but she didn't exactly have a choice. She needed to save the world, her friends and Keith while she was at it.

Arceus looked the young girl in the eyes, knowing what she was probably thinking. Though he understood her hesitation so he wondered if she would ever go through with it.

"Katherine… You have to make a decision," Arceus coached as she looked at the pokemon with a sharp glare before she smirked.

"My name's Kate. I'm this world's greatest Pokemon Ranger," Kate stated as she looked at the pokemon with determination in her eyes. Arceus nodded his head in understanding. A small smile coming onto his lips as he did so.

"Now, if I were a pokemon who wanted to escape the Darkness… where would I go?" Kellyn asked himself as he walked around the deserted Hoenn Region. "Strange how this Region stayed intact though," the brunette muttered as he looked around, hands on his hips as he did so.

"Kellyn!" a voice called. The brunette looked up in shock, looking around as he did so. His eyes widened slightly when he saw Mew flying in front of him. He was even more shocked at the fact he could understand the pink pokemon.

"I, erm, how… how can I, erm… you, you know," Kellyn stuttered at the pokemon. Mew floated in the air, cocking her head to the side with a small giggle.

"How can you understand me?" Mew asked as she looked at the boy. Kellyn nodded his head, trusting his body movements more than his words at the moment.

"Well, it's simple. We pokemon can make only the people we want understand us," Mew answered as she flew around the air. "And, since I kind of need you to hear me, it only fits that you can," the pink pokemon smiled as she landed on Kellyn's shoulder.

The brunette looked at the pokemon on his shoulder before shrugging.

"Good enough for me. So, what can I do for you?" Kellyn asked as he looked around the city. A black mist was starting to surround the city as the brunette quickly looked at the pink pokemon.

"I'm under orders to take you to Keith to help him. Hang on, we're going to teleport," Mew ordered as she held her hand out. Kellyn gripped it just as the mist started to turn purple and, before he could even breath in the poison, could quickly feel his body becoming lighter.

When Kellyn felt his body becoming heavy again he was stood outside Mt Coronet with a frown on his face. His eyes became wide as he looked up at the mountain.

A dark eerie aura surrounded the mountain. There was a thick layer of darkness around it and at the top there were dark storm clouds, purple lightning emitting from them and large rumbles of thunder coming from them too.

"I have to report back to Arceus. Keith is somewhere in the mountain. Find him, regroup and make your way to the top. Please be careful," Mew begged as she looked at the boy. "Arceus knows Kate will kill me if you're not," the pink pokemon muttered as Kellyn's eyes furrowed.

"Do… Do you know how Seren is? Or where she is?" Kellyn asked as he looked at the pokemon. Mew gave him a sorrowful look as she shook her head.

"I don't… I'm sorry," the pokemon muttered as she floated in the air with a sad expression. Kellyn sighed as he balled his fists, a grin appeared on his face.

"No worries. I'm sure she's fine. Let's go stop this darkness!" the brunette yelled as he turned back towards the mountain. Mew nodded her head as Kellyn rushed back into the mountain.

The final part of their mission was about to begin.

Stopping this darkness was now top priority. He couldn't worry about Seren, or Kate or anything else. They had to stop this darkness.

Kellyn just hoped they weren't too late.
