CHAPTER 8
- Revelations -
SASUKE'S P.O.V
"What a weird girl. Always I see her she's in some kind of a trouble." I muttered to myself as I walked towards my car.
"Hey! Teme!" My blond friend ran next to me.
"What do you want now? I wanna go home and do my homework." I said looking really serious.
"Sorry to bother you but I was just wondering what is it between you and the hoodie-girl? You have never been this interested in a girl than you're now. That's kind of an achievement for you." He smirked as we stopped next to my car.
"There's nothing between us."
"Oh come on! It's written all over your face." Naruto grinned to me but nonetheless I continued my wau towards my parked car.
But for Naruto's luck he didn't receive any proper answer from me but only 'tsk'.
"Seriously! She's cute." And my world just stopped, making Naruto almost fall on his nose but for thanks for his history as an athlete he survived without falling.
Naruto turned his whole body to confront me, who still hasn't moved a muscle.
"Sasuke?" The blond asked and he was getting serious goose bumps because of the look I was giving him.
"Did you just say she's cute?" I wanted to smack myself for even voicing that sentence out-loud but even more I wanted to smack Naruto for even saying that she's cute.
"Yeah.. How does that affect you?" He asked looking confused and scratching his head.
Wait a minute. What am I doing? "Not at all." I said quickly and continued towards my goal meaning my car. As I was next to it quickly opened the door to get away from that idiot before he could poison my mind more.
The whole process of getting from next to Naruto to my car and inside it and driving away from the school parking lot worked better than I thought without looking Naruto even a single time.
So I just left him there. Alone.
SAKURA'S MOTHER'S P.O.V
Waiting for my daughter to come is sometimes a real pain in the butt. Only because I need to clean the house and do the dishes and everything but when she comes she can help me. I know using child labor is against the law but I buy her food and clothes so she deserves to do some work for me.
Right now, I was doing the dishes, which only consisted of a two small plates and a fork. As I got the fork cleaned someone knocked the door and that's unusual at this time of the day. Maybe Sakura forgot her keys?
Well, I place the fork down on the counter, and dry my hands on a small kitchen towel and head for the door.
When I opened the door there was something I had never expected to see for the rest of my life.
"Hey Sayuri." He said and was clearly uncomfortable.
"Hey." I just answered. But wait a minute. I am not supposed to be this calm at his presence but furious. It has been almost 17 years and now he just decided to come here.
I cleared my throat, "What are you doing here?"
His posture crumbled a bit and clearly I am frightening him or he has learned some respect.
"I came to see my daughter." And to be precise my blood pressure just fly through the roof.
"And I thought you wanted nothing to with me and my child." I tried to keep my voice calm as possible.
He fixed his suit - Reaction of nervousness.
"Sayuri pleace. You know I made some bad decisions but I want to fix them. That's why I came here to meet you." He explained.
"Eiji-" I began.
"I have a brain cancer." He said.
This wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
"And that's why I need someone to be there if something happens to me. And our daughter, Sakura, is my only child meaning she's my heir and everything goes to her."
I couldn't say anything. This was just too much for my brain. But as far as I know it's not necessarily death that will follow cancer. Many people have survived and Eiji is epitome of health. At least he was.
"Eiji your faith haven't been locked yet. You may still have a life without the cancer. There're different treatments like chemotherapy and surgeries and everything." I began to explain but for my dismay his face didn't lit up he just kept looking at me.
After listening me rant he started, "I have tried chemo and everything to no avail. The cancer has metastasis already and the doctors can't do anything much."
"So please Sayuri. I'm begging you. Let me meet my daughter." He kneeled before me. Truly begging from me. How many times have I dreamed of this moment but unfortunately not in this kind of situation when he's sick.
I sighed deep.
"Fine."
I could see how his face lit up as he rose from his position on the ground. He begun to clean his suit from the dust, "Aren't you going to invite me in?" He asked.
I stepped aside from the door allowing him to walk in.
"Your house is rather small." Eiji commented the moment he stepped in.
"If you're not happy with it you can always turn around and leave." I retorted back and proceeded on walking in the kitchen. I sat down on my usual spot on the table and Eiji sat before me.
When he got settled he started, "When's Sakura coming home?"
"She should be here soon."
After that answer silence fell upon us and the only sound came from the occasional train passing my house. The other sound was after about 15 minutes when key entering a lock came to our ears.
Sakura would be here any second and my heart rate of course rose.
The door opened and Sakura's voice filled the otherwise silent house, "I'm home!"
Then I could finally hear Sakura's slow steps coming towards the kitchen. Only few more steps and there she was, on the door frame looking like she usually does except when her eyes landed on Eiji she lightly tilted her head and looked puzzled. I don't blame her; we don't usually have visitors and now there was a complete stranger in our kitchen.
I gave a fast glance to Eiji who kept his eyes on Sakura too but he looked more frightened than puzzled like Sakura did and if you looked closely you could see awe in his eyes. No wonder because that's his daughter right there whom he haven't seen ever alive other than now.
"Mom, who's he?" Sakura broke the kind of awkward silence.
My heart rate continued to rise again because I have to be the one to reveal everything for her .
I was about to open my mouth when Eiji coughed and gained my attention. Apparently he was ready but I wasn't sure whether I am. Even though he gave me the signal to say something but I just didn't fell like it. I took a deep breath and got up from my seat to take careful steps next to my daughter. As I was next to her I placed my hand on her shoulder and turned towards Eiji to face him when I revealed everything.
"Sakura, honey, this man here," I pointed him with my hand, "is your biological father."
I decided to come clean.
SAKURA'S P.O.V
"What?" The word 'shock' couldn't even describe my feeling right now. All my life I've thought that my father was the one who took me to parks and everything until he destroyed my mom's and my life by getting addicted. And now there's this weird guy in my house, sitting and my mom's claiming he is my father. I felt a little confused and light-headed right now.
"I'm so sorry I haven't told you before! Please forgive me! Please!" Mom suddenly got on her knees and began apologizing form me while she held my hand in hers.
She probably thought I was going to throw some kind of fit, "Mom calm down and get up from there." I pulled her back up, "I'm not some ten-year-old who's gonna throw a tantrum." I stated calmly. To be honest I wanted to explode but who is it gonna help; not this situation.
Now the male who supposedly is my father rose from his seat and took weary steps closer to me and mom. My immediately wiped her eyes from tear that had started to pour and cleared her throat.
"I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself, I'm Eiji Harushi." The man bowed before me and brought his gaze back to mine.
Now I was about to open my mouth when Eiji interrupted me, "If you want to blame someone about this the it should be me. I was the one who ran away and didn't come back because I was so afraid of parenthood."
"I'm not going to blame anyone so both of you just calm down. All I want to know is why you decided to tell me this now and not sooner and why you just suddenly appear in my home?" I explained and presented my question that I was dying to want to know the answer.
"Umm… Well.." My mom began but Eiji answered for her, "I need an heir."
