88 – Wedding Countdown
~*~Spencer's PoV~*~
"Who the hell shops for dresses one day before their wedding?" Kyla huffed as she shuffled through the bridal shop furiously. "You do realize you're getting married tomorrow, right Spencer? Tomorrow! You think you can find something you like that'll fit you perfectly without it needing any hemming done? Do you?"
I would've laughed in her face but was too flustered by watching her freak out that I couldn't laugh. Instead I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her slightly. "Kyla, snap the fuck out of it, okay?" I smiled sweetly. "You and Ashley are just lucky that I'm getting into a dress." I made a face because I really didn't do dresses. But I promised Ashley I'd wear one and the fact that it'll make her happy, made me happy by default.
"Focus Spencer. I told Ashley since January that we needed to have you fitted for a dress at least a month or two in advance. Would she listen? No. Fucking stubborn Davies blood. Ugh." Kyla threw her hands up in the air when I actually did start laughing out loud. "What? Why are you laughing?"
"Because I have a feeling this is the very last thing on Ashley's list to have done and I know you were the one helping her with all the secret planning so don't even try and deny it." I pointed an accusing finger at her and looked over another dress rack.
"This doesn't mean you should be rushing to fit into a dress, Spencer!" The brunette rolled her eyes and huffed.
"It's just a dress. One I'll be wearing for one day and not another day more." I shrugged.
"Ugh. You're unbelievable." Kyla shook her head and when the chimes on the door of the shop echoed around, she smiled widely. "Carmen! You made it!"
"Duh." Carmen laughed and threw her arms around me, twirling me around. "Like I'd miss my girl trying on dresses all day while being miserable." She chuckled and put me down, eyeing me from top to bottom. "You sure you don't wanna take me for a spin before you're permanently hitched?"
"Keep on dreaming." I laughed and pulled her in for another hug. I hadn't seen her in months and I missed her. "I missed you." I whispered into her neck.
"I missed you too." She pulled back. "I can't believe you're actually getting married tomorrow. I mean, it already probably seems like you two are married seeing as you have three kids and all that."
"Spencer doesn't even realize how huge this day is for her relationship with Ashley." My childhood best friend shook her head in disapproval.
"You know how I was before with huge weddings. I would've been happy for a small ceremony with close friends and relatives." I shrugged and eyed up a simple dress, my fingers trailing up the silky feel of it.
"What makes you think it's not a small ceremony?" Kyla stopped and stared at me with her hands on her hips.
I raised an eyebrow and then spun around the room with my arms open. "I wouldn't be in this fancy dress shop if it was something small. Tell me I'm wrong without lying." I dared her.
I was in complete darkness with my own wedding. I had put my trust in Ashley long ago so I wasn't too worried but that didn't quell the nerves drumming through me at the day looming over us.
"Kyla, don't you dare say a word." Carmen hissed and smiled innocently at me, picking the dress off the hanger that I was eyeing.
I blinked. "You know what tomorrow brings?!" I practically shouted at Carmen and she brushed it off like it was no big deal.
"Uh, yes…I'm in the wedding party." Carmen bumped her hip with mine and winked. "Now let's find you a dress so we can get out of here."
"Are you my maid of honour?" I asked, genuinely curious. I wasn't lying when I said I was in complete darkness with my own wedding plans.
"Fuck no." Kyla snorted. "I called dibs on that spot already. Carmen is standing beside me as a bridesmaid."
"You didn't even throw her a bachelorette party." Carmen muttered and shrugged at me. "I would've taken you out to the hottest gay clubs and strip clubs and man Spencer, you would've thanked me so hard for it. But nope, Miss Sally Sunshine had to take over and not do a damn thing."
"Wait, who is Ashley's Best Man?" I asked, slightly worried about the answer.
"Aiden." Kyla grinned and patted my head. "Don't worry, Ashley already made it clear she didn't want a party or strippers or anything and I told Aiden he'd be divorced if he went against her wishes."
"Where is Ashley right now anyway?" I asked, checking my watch and realizing it was almost lunchtime. "Maybe she can join us once we're done here?"
"She can't." Carmen and Kyla said at the same time. "She's busy today, Spence. You'll see her tonight though."
I rolled my eyes at them and shook my head. "I'm surprised you're not keeping us apart the night before the wedding."
"We thought about it but then Lucas threatened us and that kid is spooky when she pulls out the bitch Carlin act." Carmen shivered, her grey eyes wide as saucers. "She's too young to be pulling that shit, by the way."
"Amen." Kyla praised her hands in the air. "Can we stop gabbing now and start trying some dresses on?"
I smiled at my two best friends and nodded.
I'd be married soon and I couldn't wait. Even if I had to try on more than a dozen dresses to get it right.

~*~Ashley's PoV~*~
Alex waved a hand in front of me and I stepped back, blinking. "Are you okay, Ash?" She looked concerned.
"Yes, sorry. I can't believe we're here. I mean, that I'm here and tomorrow I'll have Spencer as my wife." I smiled and glanced around Alex's empty house. "It all just seems so surreal. Around this time last year I was just getting my life back and now? I'm about to have it all."
"You deserve it." Alex grinned and rubbed my shoulder. "You're looking a little pale there. Are you getting cold feet?"
"No." I laughed and ran a hand through my hair. "I'm tired and excited and I don't know. We threw this wedding together within a few months, without Spence's input may I add, and I'm worried she won't like it."
Alex barked out with laughter and leaned against the back of the couch. "Are you kidding me? She's going to flip her shit. This wedding is going to go down as one of the most creative and heartfelt weddings in history."
"You think so?" I asked, biting my lip nervously. So much thought and time had gone into finding the perfect location, considering it was mid August and hot as hell outside.
"Yes. I do." She smiled warmly and pulled me in for a hug. "We spent months perfecting everything and I know it's going to pay off tomorrow when you two say your vows."
"I hope so." I smiled and turned around when the front door opened. Samantha came in with four other women trailing behind her. "Hello ladies."
"Hey Ash." Sammy hugged me and then fell into Alex's warm embrace. "I brought the band. They wanted to check out where they'll be crashing for the night."
"Are you excited?" Lia asked me, tying her long dark hair back in a ponytail.
"Definitely." I grinned. "Are you guys all set up?"
"Everything is set up, sound check was done more than once and now I'm hungry. Mind if we order pizza?" Seth asked, making herself comfortable on the couch.
"Yes, of course. It's on me." I pulled out my wallet and handed Lia a few twenties. "I'm really happy you ladies decided to play tomorrow. I know it's not as exciting as being in the studio making your record or touring but I promise once this is over with, Alex will make sure you're on your way to fame."
"Please Ash," Lia smiled softly, "I'm not in the business for fame. I'm in it for the performance and experience. As long as Cera is playing together, I'm happy. I'm sure I speak for the girls as well."
"And possibly getting laid every now and then." Seth shrugged, smiling at Hannah.
"Anyway, thank you." I chuckled. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."
Alex followed me outside and tugged on my wrist. "Don't worry about everything tomorrow, okay? I promise it's all going to turn out. It has to. You and Spencer deserve this to be perfect."
I nodded and pulled her into a hug. "You and Sam keep those girls in line tonight."
"Stop worrying. I've got this side covered. You go see your girl and your babies and sleep tonight. Tomorrow's just another day only you'll be officially hitched." She winked and pushed me towards my rental car. "Call me if you need anything."
"Ditto, little sister." I smiled at her and she blushed a bit, shooing me away.

~*~Lucas PoV~*~
"I can't wait to get married." Dylan sighed dreamily, the spoon from her ice cream dangled from her mouth.
"You're too young to think about that!" Mom playfully nudged my sister and stole a bite of her ice cream.
"I still can't believe you were engaged at my age." Jaiden raised an eyebrow, her legs dangled over my small lap as she looked at my mom with a teasing grin. "In fact, I still can't believe I was a part of that, kind of."
"And here you are again, a part of it." Mom grinned.
Jaiden sat up on the couch and swung her legs over so could face me fully. Her blue eyes sparkled. "Hey Luc, did you know it's customary to bring a date to a wedding?"
"Jaiden." Momma warned from the other side of the room. She threw Mom a concerned look but I ignored it as Jaiden did as well.
"Would you be my date?" Jaiden pouted at me and my heart jumped a little. The girl of my dreams just asked me out.
"Uh." I squeaked and swallowed heavily. My hands started to sweat and I could feel my parents' eyes on me, as well as Dylan's teasing grin. "Me?"
"Yes you." Jaiden smiled sweetly. "You can be my partner in crime with stealing wedding cake and dancing all night. Who knows, I might sneak us a drink or two."
"Jaiden." It was Mom's turn to shake her head.
"I'm kidding!" Jaiden rolled her eyes and then kissed the side of my head. "The drinking part, not the date part."
"Okay." I whispered shyly and she clapped loudly.
"Yes! I have the cutest date, sorry ladies." She shrugged at my parents and gave me a high five before standing up. "I should get back to the hotel and get my beauty sleep. I'll be here with my parents first thing in the morning to help you with the children and Lucas." She threw me a wink and nudged me. "Night my favourite family."
"Lucas, are you okay?" Mom asked me with her head tilted to the side in a concerned way.
"What am I going to wear tomorrow?" I asked quite seriously. I mean, Jaiden Wynters just asked me to be her date. As a 12 year old, I have to look good for her.
"The dress Momma picked out for you." Mom shook her head. "Sorry kiddo, but you don't get a choice in what to wear tomorrow."
"Okay, a dress. I can rock a dress right?" I asked Dylan slightly panicked and she scrunched her face at me.
"You hate dresses Lukey!"
I shrugged and jumped up from where I was sitting. "I don't care, I have a date!" I practically squealed and ran towards Mom's childhood bedroom.

~*~Spencer's PoV~*~
The morning sun was bright as it shone through the light curtains. I felt the bed dip and I attempted to snuggle deeper in my pillow.
"Dum dum dum dum." Her breathy voice sang softly in my ear and I smiled widely, still burying my face in the pillow. "Rise and shine my gorgeous wife to be."
I stretched slightly then turned around to face her wide beaming smile and dark smoky brown eyes. "Morning." I mumbled against her soft eager lips. When she pulled back and settled down to cuddle next to me, I sighed contently. "I'm afraid to ask what time it is."
"It's really not that early. Everyone is up already and the kids are downstairs eating breakfast with your parents. Your Dad made his famous strawberry pancakes." Ashley kissed my fingertips then my chin and lips, to my nose and eyelids. She pulled back with her nose crinkle grin, "are you nervous about today?"
I blinked at her and laughed, shaking my head. "Are you kidding me? I'm marrying the hottest guitar playing Momma ever. I'm very shallow if you hadn't noticed. So to marry you, I'm pretty much hitting the jackpot." I smirked and she chuckled before tickling me.
"I'm serious!" She playfully growled, throwing her leg over my waist to straddle me.
I calmed down and tucked a strand of curly behind her ear. "No." I whispered evenly. "I've been waiting for this day since I was seventeen, Ashley. I'm so excited that we'll be official and I'll be Mrs. Spencer Davies."
Ashley squealed happily before she hugged me tightly, squishing me between her amazing body and the mattress. "I'm so in love with you, Carlin."
"Ditto, babe." I kissed her and rolled her over, peering down at her with a teasing gleam. "So the kids are downstairs which means the bathroom is free with no interruptions. Care to have a shower with me?"
Ashley squirmed from beneath my body and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards to the bathroom.
I was going to love married life.
