Meanwhile, deep in the mountains, the heroes were passing through a gorge as the night settled and the thunderstorm approached. Unfortunately, they had lost track of the herd and they were nowhere to be found. What was worse, they knew that Jake and his followers weren't that far behind them. Adding to everyone's concern was the fact that they were getting tired and some were complaining, especially about the level of walking they were doing.

"Oh, joy. Blisters," said Baylene, being sarcastic. "I've got blisters on my blisters," replied Eema. "You don't wanna know where I got blisters," said Yar. "Good, because the three of you are starting to gross me out!" said Zack, who was still limping. "Let's just face it. We're separated from the herd, and Jake and his buddies are tracking us down!" said Ruby. "Can't we just stop for the night?" asked Shard. "We've got to keep going. If we stop now, Jake and his troops will catch up to us," said Jack.

"He can't be too close," Pinkie said. "Even if he is, I can teach him and his punk pals a thing or two!" declared Rainbow. "Don't underestimate 'im, Rainbow," said Applejack. "He's right. From the Fiery Five's description, Jake is diabolical and deadly," agreed Cyra. "Adding to that is the fact that he's unpredictable," said William. "And as if we didn't have enough problems, that storm is getting closer. We'll need shelter from it," said Fredyka.

"It depends on whatever's up ahead," said Ryan. "Are Jake and his minions gonna catch us?" asked Fluttershy, feeling scared. "No, no, no. I promise nothing will happen," said Peter calmly. "Let's just relax. As long as we stick together, we're all gonna make it through this," said Murphy. Suddenly, they heard a roar echoing far ahead. Everyone gasped as they came to a sudden halt before immediately readying themselves for battle.

"What was that?" wondered Eema. "It came from up ahead," said Baylene. "Okay, what's the worst thing it could be?" wondered Zini, feeling nervous. "I don't think we want to know that...'' said Fluttershy nervously. "Jake, Black Wolves, and a Carnotaur?" wondered Suri, feeling scared. "Did you have to say that!" cried Spike. "Okay, what's the second-worst thing it could be?" wondered Zini. "DON'T SAY IT!" said the Mane Six.

"Jake, Black Wolves, and two Carnotaurs! OH!" exclaimed Baylene. "That's it! I'm gone!" said Eema as she started to turn around. "Oh, my goodness!" exclaimed Baylene as she does the same. "I'm getting outta here!" said Yang, turning around. "Me too!" said Sparx as they started turning to the other direction. "GET BACK HERE!" yelled Weiss and she yanked the two back into line. "Everybody, we don't know for sure. It could be the herd," said Aladar.

"Yeah, Jake and the others are still pretty far behind us," added Zack. "So there is no possible way that they could be up here this fast," stated William, who was remaining calm in the situation. "Then what could it be, then?" wondered Kujenga. "Come on, let's check it out," said Jack as they started to proceed forwards. "Oh, my goodness. Goodness gracious," muttered Baylene, still rather frightened. "Battle ready everyone!" ordered Tyne.

Even though they needed to investigate, everyone had readied their teeth, claws or whatever weapons they had to attack whether it was a predator, or Jake himself, or even some of his followers. They slowly approached the next corner. Getting ready for or to attack, they carefully peeked around it... And saw Bruton, lying against a rock wall. "Oh, it's Bruton," gasped Eema. "Bruton!" gasped Cynder. "It appears we weren't the only ones left behind," observed Baylene.

The Iguanodon tried to get up, but he just collapsed. "And he's really hurt," said Cyra. She was indeed right. Wounds were visible all over his body. They slowly approached him as Bruton groaned and snorted in pain. When they got close, the wounds seemed to be more severe than they thought. "Cripes, look at those wounds..." murmured Tobern. "They're serious," said Peter, his medical instincts kicking in. "They could be potentially fatal if not treated immediately."

"What happened?" wondered Aladar. "I'll bet that Jake and his fellow ruffians did this," said Rarity. "Including Carnotaurs. We should keep moving," said Eema. "We can't just leave him here," said Plio firmly. "She's right. Look at him. If we don't help him, he'll die," said White Tip. "We can if we move fast enough," Eema replied. "How dare you! How can you say that?!" exclaimed Octa. "Listen to her, man! She's right! Bruton's a mean ol' piece of work!" said Sparx.

"Yeah! Why should we help him when he's been a total jerk to us?" asked Rainbow. "Because he's just like us now! Kron left him behind to die!" stated Pod. "It's true, as a wise pony once said: the enemy of my enemy is my friend," stated Twilight. "Keep your wise words to yourself for once! I'm not helping this guy, and you shouldn't either!" said Tobern. "I'm with him!" said Sparx. "Yeah, the last thing we need is Bruton to boss us around!" said Rainbow.

"Come now, Rainbow Dash! Have a heart!" said Rarity. "I do! But right now it's telling me not to help him!" said Rainbow. "We're helping Bruton, whether you three like it or not," said Crusher, before they approached Bruton. "Hey, you don't look so good," said Aladar. "Let us help you," said Spyro. Bruton grunted as he looked up at them weakly. "Save your pity. I just need some rest. Now, get away from me," he mumbled. "Well, that settles it! Let's go!" said Sparx.

"SPARX!" yelled everyone, looking at him disapprovingly. "What? He doesn't want our help! You heard him!" replied the dragonfly. "We don't care. We're not going to leave him behind like Kron did," said Ryan. "Especially with you-know-who behind us!" added Fredryka. Then they heard a thunderclap up in the sky above them, a definite sign that now it was goin to rain. "It's about to happen. We need to find shelter," said Frost.

"Oh boy! I hope it rains CHOCOLATE!" smiled Pinkie Pie, hopping with joy. "Pinkie, will you please stop thinking everything will rain chocolate?" groaned Spike, shaking his head. "But where do we go?" asked Cynder. "Preferably a safe place to hide from Jake," said Tyson. "There's got to be one around here somewhere," said White Tip. Then Url approached them and dropped something in front of them as he panted.

He pushed it towards them before he walked away. Looking closely down at it, it clearly appears to be a piece of stalagmite. "Huh? Is that what I think it is?" asked Yang. "Where did that come from?" wondered Spyro. "Wait, if that's a stalagmite, then that could mean..." said William. They looked up ahead, and they spotted a large cave in the mountain wall, big enough for everyone, even Baylene, to get inside.

"Well, what d'ya know?" said Starlight. "A cave!" exclaimed Georgina. "Looks like we've found our shelter for the night," said Ribo. "But what about Bruton?" asked Applejack. Jack, Kujenga, Cyra and Aladar looked down at Bruton. While it was true that he had been cruel to them and he deserved severe punishment. They wanted to help him, but, like Kron, he was too stubborn to listen. So, they decided to leave him behind where he was and go into the caves.

After all, Bruton was probably too weak to walk very far. "If you change your mind, we'll be in those caves," said Aladar. Then they proceeded into the mouth of the cave, with Bruton watching them go. But he sighed, realizing what they had tried to do and felt ashamed. Entering the cave, they found the place rather dark. "It's dark, but at least it's dry," said Aladar. "Doesn't seem comfy either, but it'll have to do," added Kujenga.

"I like dry. It's the dark part I'm having trouble with," said Eema. "Eema, I'm starting to like you," agreed Sparx, due to the fact he was also quite nervous of the dark. "Me neither. But I'd rather be in here than face Jake, or his followers," agreed Fluttershy nervously. "Ouch!" cried Ema holding up her foot as she stepped on something spiky. "Ahh! Jake's found us!" blurted Ruby, Fluttershy, Yang, and Sparx together.

"Oh! Knock it off! She just accidentally stepped on Url, that's all!" said Georgina, stating the obvious. "Ohh. Sorry, Url," the older dinosaur said in apology as the Ankylosaurus walked off. "Sturdy little thing, ain't he?" commented Applejack. "Tell me about it," agreed Romar. Everyone chuckled, glad for the break in the tension. "Let's get settled, guys," said Tyson. Marius weakly lay down, still injured after the ambush attack from earlier that evening.

As such, Peter and Twilight started tending to his wounds. "Ahem. We appear to have a visitor," said Baylene, indicating someone outside. As the rain poured down, they looked to see Bruton weakly walking past the entrance, groaning in pain, only to collapse on the ground outside. Looking determined, Zack, Kujenga and Aladar decided to help him, once and for all. They walked outside, right into the rain, Plio watching them, concern on her face, and stood over him.

Bruton weakly looked up at them as they looked down at him. "You coming in or what?" asked Zack, with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, what are you waiting for?" asked Kujenga with a raised eyebrow of her own. "What is it with all of you?" groaned Bruton, giving them an annoyed look. "At least we know enough to get in out of the rain," replied Aladar. "Now, come on. On your feet." "Double-time," said Zack, calmly, but sternly.

Bruton then tried to get up under his own power, but naturally failed and they started helping him up. Keeping him on his feet, they escorted him over to the cave. They weren't trying to be hardlined like Kron was. They were just teaching him a lesson that whether they wanted to continue or not, no one got left behind to die. As they helped him over, Bruton shrugged them off, deciding to move inside on his own without their help, but Aladar and the others did their work.

Everyone stared at Bruton as he entered, looking at the one that was cruel to them before. "Uh, you can lie down with us. It's warmer," said Aladar, offering him the choice to sleep with them. But Bruton just grunted in reply before he walked over to a ledge overlooking the entrance to sleep. As he headed for the spot, Plio saw something that she recognized. Joined by Peter, they went over to what appeared to be a colony of small plant pots.

The duo remembered them from the island. Knowing they were useful, they started picking them. "May I remind you that he's one of them?" said Baylene to Aladar, Zack and Kujenga. "Yeah, and how rude he was to us?" added Sparx, arms crossed. "Well, looks like he's one of us now," said Aladar. "And it's going to stay that way," agreed Jack. "And there will be no arguing about it. "Ahh. Who booked this trip, anyway?" asked Eema as she lay down.

"We could've at least brought some umbrellas," Ruby added, looking out at the rain. "Ah, we'll be at the nesting grounds soon enough," answered Aladar. "Well, when I get there, I'm gonna give Kron a piece of my mind," said Rainbow. "I think I gave him quite enough back at the lake, with my teeth as well," said Crusher. "Moving on, let's not take any chances," said Jack. "We'll take it in turns to keep watch in case the Dark Elite and the Rebels show up. Crusher, you up for the first turn?" he asked.

Normally the dark blue and grey Tyrannosaurus would have replied instantly, but this time he didn't. Instead, to the surprise of his fellow Northlanders and heroes, he shook his head from side to side in reply. "I've got something else to do," Crusher answered. "You're really worried about Jake showing up, aren't you?" said Spike, looking at Jack. "As Will said, he's unpredictable. He could be plotting a new ambush," the blue and red dragon explained.

"He could show up at any time and at any place." "What you need is someone to put your mind at ease," said Zack, winking at Georgina who winked back at him. She gently caressed his back and chest and wrapped her tail around his own, kissed him on the cheek and lay against him, a gesture he returned. "Tyson and I will keep an eye out," said Tyne. Tyson nodded in agreement. Then they heard giggling and looked to find Zini and Suri giggling at the way Url, lying on his back, with his tongues hanging out.

"If I could sleep that deep, I'd be in paradise," said Yar. "If you could sleep that deep, honey, you'd be dead," joked Eema. They all laughed once again while Plio and Peter approached Bruton with a couple of the small plant pots each. "These plants grew on our island," the former explained. "It will make you feel better." "And it will sting," added the latter as crushed some of the plants together and began to place the poultice on Bruton's wounds.

The Iguanodon grunted from the sudden pain and winced before he exhaled and relaxed as they did their work. After treating his wounds, Plio, along with Peter, turned to head back to the others to settle down for the night when their patient spoke up. "Why are they doing this? Pushing them on with false hope?" asked Bruton. "It's hope that's gotten us this far," replied Plio, as they looked back at him. "But why don't they let them accept their fate? I've accepted mine," said Bruton.

"And what is your fate?" asked Peter. "To die here. It's the way things are," was the bluntly soft answer. "Only if you give up, Bruton. It's your choice, not your fate," asserted Plio. Bruton only stared at them in silence for a few moments, then looked away. "Well, the plant will help," said Peter as he placed a plant pot next to him. Then the pair headed back to the others to settle down for the night. After they left, Bruton finally understood what they had and were doing for him.

He felt ashamed by what he had done and brought the plant closer to him, as if it would provide some form of comfort. He was about to rest when the sound of heavy footsteps made him look up to see Crusher walking up to him. At once he became nervous, until he saw the concerned look on the T-Rex's face as he lay down next to him Silence held until Crusher spoke. "It's never easy," he said. "Fighting so hard for something you believe in, only to have the world hit you back into reality."

The carnivore looked at Bruton. "I was like you once. Strong of body, and the world at my feet." He paused. "I learned the hard way that can only get you killed. I made the mistake of going up against the Spinosaurus that killed my family. I got these as a result." Crusher turned his head so that Bruton could see three massive claw scars running down the right side of his face.

"You know when you're young and you have that feeling that you're virtually invincible? I thought I was an apex predator, who possessed such matchless strength and power that nothing could defeat me in a fight. But the world proved me wrong," he continued. Bruton looked down at the ground before he replied. "Yeah. I know that feeling." "Your intention to get the herd to the Nesting Grounds is an admirable one, anybody can see that," agreed Crusher.

"But you allowed Kron to corrupt that intention." "And it's gotten who knows how many killed," grunted the Iguanodon. Crusher nodded. "As I grew older I learned how and when to use my strength. Meeting the Fiery Five was a major factor in that regard, Rexy as well." He looked over at the female T-Rex who was resting, with Blue curled up alongside her. "A human leader once said "Courage is not having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don't have the strength." I've lived by that statement for a long time and so can you."

Once again Bruton looked down at the ledge beneath before he looked back up at Crusher. "Do you really think so?" he asked. Crusher gave a small, but encouraging smile. "If someone like me can do it, then so can someone like you." For the first time since the journey had begun, a genuine smile appeared on Bruton's face at that response. He then smirked. "By the way, you really shook Kron up back at the lake. He kept glancing over his shoulder every so often."

The T-Rex smirked as well. "He probably thought that you were gonna jump out at him at any moment," the Iguanodon added, and both of them laughed at that. Back down with the others, Zack was about to drift off when Marius spoke to him. "How are your wounds?" he asked. "Hurts like a son of a gun. But I'll live," replied the dragon. "Thanks for saving me by the way," said Marius. Zack just smiled, nodded and went off to sleep. Marius too followed the green and purple reptile's example and went to sleep.

Two hours had passed since the heroes had settled down in the caves for the night. And outside, it was still pouring rain. But then, loud footsteps were heard approaching the cavern and several shadows came towards it. The Carnotaurs, Indominus Rex, Indoraptor and the group of Troopers and Hellhounds that Jake had sent to hunt them down surveyed the area. "They must have come this far," said their captain.

"Impossible. They should have stopped by now," argued a second. "Our lord told us not to underestimate his brother and his allies," added a third Trooper. "We should check that cave, they could be hiding in there," said a fourth Trooper, pointing in the direction of the cave mouth. "No, that'll just give them away. They know they'd be discovered if they went in there," countered the second Trooper. "What do you suggest we do then captain?" asked the fourth orc, looking over at the first.

"Search the area. The dinosaurs will sniff them out," said the second Trooper. They then started to spread out as the Carnotaurs, Indominus and Indoraptor growled, before putting their noses to the ground and began sniffing about the entire area. Inside the cave, Aladar and Jack were still sleeping, but their slumber was suddenly disturbed by the sound of loud footsteps, shaking the ground with each impact. The pair's eyes opened and they saw the rocks on the cavern floor shaking.

As they realized that something was outside, they gasped softly as they looked outside. A whisper of "Shhh, Carnotaurs," from Bruton, who had also seen their problem, as he came up to them confirmed their suspicions. "And with company," added Jack in a soft growl. "Jake's soldiers?" whispered Aladar. "We smelled and heard them coming no more than a few moments ago," whispered Crusher, as he, Tyne and Tyson came up alongside the trio.

Aladar and Jack watched as the Troopers looked around the area while Indominus, Indoraptor and the Carnotaurs sniffed around for them. "What do we do?" whispered Tyne. "Wake the others, and proceed deeper into the caves, quietly," whispered Jack. "Understood." The black lion started shaking Peter softly, trying to wake him up. "Peter. Peter," whispered Tyne. Soon enough, Shine begins to stir. "Mmmm... What is it, Tyne?" asked the red and yellow dragon sleepily as he looked up at him.

"Shhh... Keep quiet. They're right outside," whispered Tyne. Tyson, meanwhile, went over to Twilight and woke her up. "Twilight, listen, they're right outside. We need to get everyone out of here. Don't make a sound," whispered the tiger. "Alright," the alicorn whispered in reply, understanding the situation. By the time the Carnotaurs started coming closer to the cave entrance, everyone was now awake and began to quietly move deeper into the caves.

When Aladar nudged Url to wake him up, the Ankylosaurus took one look outside and suddenly let out a bleat. The Iguanodon covered his mouth immediately as everyone gasped quietly in shock, while the Carnotaurs outside, instantly raised their heads. "Hey, they heard something in there!" called one of the Troopers, approaching the cave. "Not yet! Let the Carnotaurs look for them!" replied another. Everyone inside the cave was paralyzed as they braced for the worse to happen.

But, the Carnotaurs simply resumed sniffing. "Hmm, probably nothing," said the Trooper. Everyone then felt relieved. That had been way too close for comfort. Then they resumed sneaking into the caves, silently. But their hopes were dashed. Baylene bumped her back against the ceiling and a piece of rock fell off. Everyone gasped as the rock bounced off of a ledge and rolled towards the entrance. Aladar and Jack both made a dive to try to catch it, but they missed it and it rolled outside the entrance.

The Carnotaur on the left lowered his head, took one whiff of the rock and started snarling. "Hey, one of them got a scent. There's something in there!" one of the Troopers called out. "Get ready!" ordered the orc captain as he and the rest of the villains moved closer. Aladar and Jack stood frozen in fear as the juvenile Carnotaur pushed his head and snout through the curtain of falling water and looked into the cave itself, but couldn't see much in the shadowy darkness.

The duo knew that as long as they remained completely still, he couldn't see them- A flash of lightning lit up the cave, illuminating the Iguanodon and the leader of the Fiery Five. He roared and charged in after them as the two friends raced away. "They're in there!" yelled one of the Troopers. "THEY FOUND US!" yelled Cynder. "Go! Go! Hurry!" yelled Aladar as he ran. Everyone started running through the caves. But the carnivore kept right on their heels as they ran.

Once again Eema began to fall behind them. As they raced up behind, Aladar and Jack tried to push her up to get her away. "Move it, Eema!" they yelled. "Aladar! Behind you!" yelled Weiss. But it was too late as the Carnotaur suddenly grabbed him by the tail and pulled him back. "ALADAR!" screamed Plio. "NOOO!," screamed Starlight. "No!" screamed Kujenga. Up ahead, Bruton was still running, but came to a half when he heard their screams.

As Aladar was pulled back down, Jack wasted no time and charged straight at them. The male Carnotaur was about to bite him when his mother suddenly appeared. To the surprise of the heroes, the pair suddenly started nipping and roaring at each other, obviously arguing over who should get to eat first. Seizing upon the distraction, Jack shot a fireball at the female Carnotaurs' face, forcing her to back away from the scorching heat.

But her son came straight at him. Jack dodged the first strike and raked his claws down his nose, making the carnivore howl in pain. A loud roar caught his attention before Bruton slammed into them, appearing out of nowhere. "I'll hold them off! You help the others!" yelled Bruton. "We're not leaving you!" yelled Jack. "I won't ask you again! Do as I say! Please!" yelled Bruton. Though they didn't want to leave him behind to die, they also knew that the others needed their help.

As Bruton backed up the slope that the others had run up and further into the cave he roared at the Carnotaurs and the Troopers as they approached. The young male Carnotaur charged straight at him, but he swung his tail and hit it in the face causing him to stumble backwards and slam into a nearby pillar. The ceiling then started shaking and dust and a large rock fell down.

Another roar cut through the cave and before Bruton knew what was happening Indominus had knocked him to the ground while Indoraptor cornered Jack against the wall. Bruton tried to get up, but he was easily held in place by the white hybrid's long arms. She lowered her head down and spoke to him. "Ahhh yes. I remember you," she said in a sickening tone of voice. "You still bear the scars of our last encounter." All the Iguanodon did in response was snort.

"Go ahead and get it over with!" he shot back. "I've got nothing to lose!" "Oh do you?" she asked before looking over at where the leader of the Fiery Five was facing off against Indoraptor who was slowly creeping closer and closer. "I think you've got a lot to lose. Including your life." Bruton felt a cold chill run up his spine as he realised that he was now at the mercy of the carnivore and the Fiery Fives' leader was completely outnumbered and on his own.

"And now," continued Indominus. "I'm going to finish what I started back at the lake!" "But first," she turned her head to look at Jack who was still backed up against the cave wall. "Our mighty leader requested an audience with his brother... But he didn't say what "condition" he had to be in when he was brought before him." In an instant Indoraptor launched himself forward and pinned the blue and red dragon to the ground.

"Clip his wings." Jack felt his blood run cold at that order. One of the Troopers obeyed and approached him while Indoraptor shifted his hold. The orc stood above him and placed his sword against the root of his left wing; raising the blade, the rider prepared to dismember the young dragon. Just as he swung his sword down, however, Weiss threw herself at the orc and knocked him over.

Indominus growled in anger as they struggled against one another for a few seconds before the Huntress was able to shove her sword into the creature's gut. Pulling her sword out of the dead orc's body, Weiss stood in front of Jack in a protective stance. She leveled her sword at the captain and the other Troopers, a fierce gleam in her light blue eyes. For a moment the orcs stood back, until their captain growled an order. "Kill her."

Three Troopers and Hellhounds began to approach Weiss, snarling. Out of nowhere Ribo, Broken Jaw, and Knuckles plowed into the foul creatures from the side and started fighting them, going straight for their heads or across their throats. Weiss let out a yell and bolted forward, bringing her blade across the throat of a Hellhound coming at her. As it crumpled to the ground, the Trooper behind it was flung forward, but tucked up into a roll and was able to quickly get back on his feet.

Even when hunched over, the orc still towered over her. Sneering down at the girl, it readied its sword and started to swing at her. She was able to block a few of the blows and even parried one. But just as the Huntress got ready to block another attack, she stumbled over a rock that she had thought was further away and fell backwards, landing on her back. The orc, however, ended up stumbling over her in turn and fell on its face.

Rolling onto her knees, Weiss flung herself forward, driving her sword into the Trooper's neck. She cried out as another Trooper snatched her by the hair and hoisted her into the air. It turned her around, wanting to get a better look at her before killing her. Growling, Weiss slammed her foot into its face, making it release her in shock. As she fell, she thrust her sword forward, feeling it sink into flesh, and get dragged down by her bodyweight.

The fourth member of Team RWBY landed on her back with a small yelp of pain; hitting the hard rock only helped to remind her of all her other aches and pains. She watched as the Hellhound - the one that had been the one injured by her blade - retreated. But two more soon came to take its place. The creatures snarled at her, hungry looks in their faces. While this was happening Indominus, was brought out of her temporary shock, reared her head back like a snake, jaws open, teeth bared and ready to strike.

Bruton shut his eyes, preparing for the final blow. But it never came. There was a thunderous roar and a massive pair of jaws grabbed hold of her neck and threw her straight into the female Carnotaur who let out a roar of surprise as the two fell to the ground. The Iguanodon watched all of this before looking up at his savior. It was Crusher. The No-Soul-Tyrannosaurus stood over him, red eyes glaring at their foes.

A loud growl made Bruton react instinctively and tail-whip two Troopers in the gut, knocking them backwards. By now their three rescuers had now been surrounded by both Troopers and Hellhounds. A fall of stones suddenly made the pair look up and see that the ceiling had become unstable. The herbivore and carnivore looked at each other and nodded.

Deciding quickly on what they had to do, Bruton charged at the male Carnotaur, and a couple of Troopers and Hellhounds who weren't fast enough to get out of his way, slamming them into the pillar once again which broke and the ceiling started to collapse. Just as the rocks started falling, Aladar, Kujenga and Cyra arrived on the scene, obviously having come back for them. "Bruton!" yelled the Iguanodon. "Guys!" roared the lioness.

"Come on! Get out of there!" yelled the purple dragoness. Ribo, Knuckles and Broken Jaw immediately broke off from the engagement, with the White Dragon and red echidna sending out a blast of fire and mini-earthquake in order to cover their retreat. Jack, meanwhile, blasted Indoraptor point blank with his own fire. The black hybrid was sent reeling back, screeching in pain while the red and blue dragon, after helping Weiss up, raced back to the quartet while the other trio raced past them.

Rocks were now beginning to fall in earnest like hailstones. "BRUTON!" yelled Aladar. The Iguanodon started heading towards them, but due to his injuries, he could only manage a snail's pace. The trio tried to reach him, but the rocks falling from above pummeled them and slowed them down. Moving towards them, Bruton was also suddenly pummeled down by rocks and stopped dead in his tracks. "BRUTON! NO!" cried Kujenga.

They tried again to reach him as more and more rocks fell. But they had completely forgotten about Crusher. Without a moment's hesitation the blue and grey T-Rex quickly dove forwards and managed to reach Bruton as the heavier rocks started to fall, ignoring the searing heat of pain in his back and flanks as he rammed his massive head into the latter's flank. "Get... moving!" he snapped, forcing him up the slope.

"Or we'll both die!" "You're an idiot! You shouldn't have come back!" Bruton snarled as he continued to struggle, but had now found the sheer willpower to make himself move faster. With Crusher pushing him from behind, the pair were able to clear the first wave of falling rocks but many more still hammered against their bodies, making them wince and grunt with each strike that they took, but they still pressed on.

The dust cloud sent up the falling debris bloomed around them, but with a final push they managed to clear the rockslide, reaching Aladar and the others just in time. Had the T-Rex been even a moment later or not at all, Bruton would have been buried alive. For a moment they stood rooted in shock as their friend and Bruton stood side by side, the latter leaning on the former for support. After a few moments, Crusher finally looked down and met the Iguanodon's gaze.

Bruton's eyes simply looked at him with a strange wonder and softness as he seemed to appraise the T-Rex quietly, flanks heaving and knees shaking as he struggled to stand. As the dust cleared Aladar, Jack and Kujenga approached them, coughing as they did so. "Are you guys both alright?" asked the lioness. "We're fine," Crusher replied. "What about-?" began Cyra. "Not a problem anymore. But we have to keep moving for now. There's nothing we can do at this moment," interrupted Aladar.

"I'll have Jake's head for this!" growled Jack. "You'll have your chance to fight him," Plio said, calmly. "But not now." The dragon sighed deeply, knowing that she was right. Then they heard a Carnotaur roar on the other side of the rocks, meaning that one of them was still alive. Growling when he heard the other Carnotaur's roar, Jack became furious, along with Aladar, Kujenga, Cyra and Crusher, who were growling as well.

Then Indominus, Indoraptor, the young male Carnotaur and the remaining Troopers and Hellhounds burst out from under the rocks. They were bleeding from several wounds caused by the cave-in and looked back at both the heroes and rocks, where the female meat-eating bull and their comrades lay buried underneath the huge pile of rubble, crushed to death. Knowing that there was no point in remaining, they walked towards the entrance.

Before leaving, the Carnotaur looked back and roared in anger over the death of his mother, with the message within it being crystal clear to those who heard it. He would have vengeance.
