Peter rushed right back to camp, calling for help.
"Peter, what's happened?" asked Ben. "Where's Anakim?"
"They've got him! And Rax too!" Peter panted.
"Who got them?"
"The savages!"
"Savages?" said another man.
"They captured them! Dragged them off!"
This commotion woke up many of the other campers, leaving them all in a panic. Gov. Palpatine saw a golden opportunity in this.
"The gold is as good as mine."
"We've got to do something!" said one man.
"And so we shall," declared Palpatine, stepping in. "I told you those savages couldn't be trusted. Fett tried to befriend them, and look what they've done to him! And to make things worse, they've turned Skywalker's daughters into two more of them! How much longer before they corrupt more of our women into getting ideas. I say it's time to rescue our courageous comrade and stop those foolish girls to remind them of their place! At daybreak, we attack!"
The men all cheered at that. Palpatine began to don some black armor to prepare for battle
Palaptine:
What can you expect
From filthy little heathens?
Their whole disgusting race is like a curse
Their skin's a hellish red
They're only good when dead
They're vermin, as I said
And worse
They're savages! Savages!
They're not even human
All:
Savages! Savages!
Palpatine:
Drive them from our shore!
They're not like you and me
Which means they must be evil
We must sound the drums of war!
All:
They're savages! Savages!
Dirty redskin devils!
Now we sound the drums of war!
As sad as it was, war seemed like the only option for the Togruta tribes to protect their home and their people
Pav-Ti:
This is what we feared
The paleface is a demon
The only thing they feel at all is greed
Gantika:
Beneath that milky hide
There's emptiness inside
Warrior:
I wonder if they even bleed
Warriors:
They're savages! Savages!
Unlike the Togruta
Savages! Savages!
Gantika:
Killers at the core
They're different from us
Which means they can't be trusted
Pav-Ti raised his staff and declared...
Pav-Ti:
We must sound the drums of war
But first, they still had Anakim and Rax held captive
Warriors:
They're savages! Savages!
First we deal with these two
Then we sound the drums of war
Savages! Savages!
Let's go kill a few, men!
Togruta:
Savages! Savages!
Men on both sides were ready to battle.
Palpatine:
Now it's up to you, men!
Both: Savages! Savages!
Barely even human!
Now we sound the drums of war!
The only three girls brave enough to speak out against this senseless war didn't know what to do at this point.
Ahsokahontas brought Grace and Leena to Queen Willowmena to explain what was happening.
"They're going to kill them at sunrise, Willowmena." Ahsokahontas said, tears in her eyes.
"You have to stop them." said the nymph.
"I can't."
"The men on our side won't listen to the words of women, even when we are reasonable." Leena said.
"Ahsokahontas, remember your dream," said Willowmena.
"I was wrong, Willowmena." Ahsokahontas cried. "I followed the wrong path. I feel so lost."
It was then that Grace noticed something shiny on the branches of the tree, and she picked it up.
"What's this doing here?" Grace said, holding the item. It was Rax's compass, which Ahsokahontas took into her hand.
"The compass."
Ahsokahontas then remembered what Rax had said about the compass helping one find their way when lost. She turned the compass around a little, and to her great surprise... she saw an arrow moving. The spinning arrow... just like in her dream!
"The spinning arrow!" Ahsokahontas gasped.
"It's the arrow from you dream!" Willowmena smiled.
"I was right! It was pointing to him!" the Togruta princess smiled.
The colors of the wind blew, seeming to spin the arrow faster, and guiding her to see that sunrise was coming.
"The sunrise!" she exclaimed.
"It's not too late, child!" Willowmena said. "Let the spirits of the earth guide you and your friends!"
The three girls watched the compass spin a few more times until it stopped.
"You know your path, child. Now follow it!"
Now Ahsokahontas was more determined than ever, and so were her friends.
"Lead the way, Princess." Grace said. "We're in this together."
"Let's show them what real girl power looks like."
As sunrise came about, the Togruta and the humans sounded their drums of war, marching into battle.
Governor Palpatine raised his sword to declare his lead into the war.
Palpatine:
This will be the day ...
(Let's go men!)
Pav-Ti:
This will be the morning ...
(Bring out the prisoners)
We will see them dying in the dust
Rax and Anakim were both forced out from the tent to be prepared for execution before their own people. Meanwhile, Ahsokahontas and the Skywalker Sisters ran as fast as they could to reach the battlegrounds, praying they would be able to save their loved ones before it was too late!
Ahsokahontas:
I don't know what we can do
Still, I know we've got to try
Palpatine:
Now we make 'em pay
Ahsokahontas:
Eagle, help my feet to fly
Togruta:
Now without a warning ...
Ahsokahontas:
Mountain, help my heart be great
Togruta:
Now we leave 'em blood and bone and rust
Ahsokahontas:
Spirits of the earth and sky ...
All soldiers:
It's them or us
Graciella:
Please don't let it be too late ...
Humans and Togruta:
They're just a bunch of
Filthy, stinking
Savages!
Savages!
Demons!
Devils!
Kill them!
Savages!
Savages!
What are we waiting for?
Destroy their evil race
Until there's not a trace left
Ahsokahontas:
How loud are the drums of war
Soldiers:
We will sound the drums of war
(Savages! Savages!)
Now, we sound the drums of war
(Savages! Savages!)
Now we see what comes
Of trying to be chums
Now we sound the drums ... of ... war!
Of course it means the drums ... of ... war!
Ahsokahontas:
Is the death of all I love
Carried in the drumming of war?
And here it was... Pav-Ti had the two humans brought before him. Rax was thrown in front of him first to be killed. Pav-Ti raised his staff and prepared to strike. But before he could, his daughter jumped in and threw herself on top of Rax. And Grace and Leena did the same with their father.
"No!" she exclaimed.
Pav-Ti looked at his daughter, and she said to him, "If you kill them, you'll have to kill me too."
"And if you kill our father, you'll have to kill us too," said Grace.
"Daughter, you and your friends stand back." Pav-Ti ordered.
"I won't!" Ahsokahontas said firmly. "I love him, Father."
Everyone, human and Torguta, was shocked to hear Ahsokahontas' words.
"Look around. This is where the path of hatred has brought us." Ahsokahontas said. She lay her head back on Rax's. "This is the path I choose, Father. What will yours be?"
The soldiers on both sides still held what weapons they had, ready to fire at will. Pav-Ti was silent. The wind whistled below, and into his face. As he felt the wind past his montrals, Pav-Ti raised his staff and made a declaration:
"My daughter speaks with a wisdom beyond her years. We have all come here with anger in our hearts, but she comes forward with courage and understanding. From this day forward, if there is to be more killing, it will not start with me."
Ahsokahontas and Rax smiled at each other to hear the chief say this. Pav-Ti then ordered both prisoners to be released. And they were.
Grace and Leena both hugged their father, and Ahsokahontas hugged Rax tightly.
Everyone else lowered their weapons, seeing no reason to fight now, but Palpatine was not prepared to give up.
"Now is our chance! Fire!"
"No!" said Peter.
"What?!" said the governor.
"They let them go!"
"They don't want to fight!" Ben added.
"It's a trick, don't you see? Fire!" Palpatine ordered. But, his men refused.
"Fine, I shall do this myself!"
Palpatine grabbed a blaster and aimed for Pav-ti. But the moment he pulled the trigger... Rax jumped in and pushed the chief out of the way, only to get hit himself.
"RAX!" many of Rax's friends exclaimed in horror.
"You shot him!" Ben exclaimed angrily.
"He stepped right into it!" Palpatine growled. "It's his own fault!"
"Rax and the girls were right about you all along!" Ben said.
"We never should've listened to you." said Peter.
The men all came at him, Palpatine calling them traitors. However, they were quickly all spooked as Palpatine suddenly was being choked by some invisible force. But not just any force... The Force.
"I believe you've done quite enough damage to this land, Governor." Grace said, holding the Force choke.
"Is she...?" Ben said.
"The Jedi have begun recruiting women into their ranks. Perhaps it's time you men see what we're really capable of." Grace smiled. "Put him in chains and gag him. We've heard enough lip from him."
The men did as Grace ordered, but just before they gagged him... Grace and Leena each punched him in the face.
"That was for threatening us as well as forcing our father to watch." Leena said.
Sadly, Rax was still very badly injured. He needed a doctor, and soon. The humans needed to get him to a medical facility quickly. Sadly, that meant Rax had to leave, and so did the Skywalkers.
Rax was bandaged, but before he left, Ahsokahontas and her people came bearing gifts in the form of baskets of food.
Ahsokahontas approached Rax with some essence from Queen Willowmena's bark to help with the pain.
Rax chuckled and said, "I've had worse pain than this. Can't think of any right now, but..."
Pav-Ti unwrapped his cloak and placed it over Rax's body.
"You are always welcome among my people. Thank you, my brother."
"Thank you for everything, Chief Pav-Ti." Grace said. "I believe our kind had much more to learn from you than we could ever hope to teach you."
And Leena came with something for the princess.
"Ahsokahontas... I believe this belongs to you." Leena said, holding up Ahsokahontas' once broken necklace now good as new.
"My mother's necklace," gasped Ahsokahontas happily, placing it around her neck. "Thank you."
Rax held Ahsokahontas' cheek and asked if she would come with him, but as much as she wished, Ahsokahontas had to choose the path that took her where she was needed: with her people to protect and lead them.
"Then I will stay with you." Rax said.
"No. You have to go back," said Ahsokahontas.
"But I can't leave you."
"You never will. No matter what happens, I'll always be with you... forever."
And so, the two shared one last, very passionate, kiss before Rax was carried away on the stretcher. And soon, all the other humans were headed on their way home, including the Skywalker Sisters.
Ahsokahontas ran as fast as she could to get to the cliffside, and she felt the colors of the wind blowing as the humans' ship took off and flew away, Ahsokahontas waving a final goodbye.
Many, many years later to present day...
"I know not what Raxon Fett's fate was after he returned home," read Ahsoka. "But as I feel the colors of the wind blow, I can sense his presence and his healing."
There were no more pages after that.
"That's all." Ahsoka said.
"Check the other diaries," said Omega.
Boba looked further into Rax's journal and found some great news.
"He made it!" He read another entry. "Months after our great journey meeting the Togruta, finally my wounds are healed. The ones on my body, anyway. The one in my heart, from how I miss the beauty named Ahsokahontas, however, never has. I never saw her again, but I shall forever remember how much she meant to me, and I only hope someday our descendants may learn from these people as we have from them."
And in Graciella's journal, Gabby found another interesting thing,
"Though we have yet to end this senseless feud among many other tribes in a mostly unexplored galaxy, there is a lot to be learned from our experience with Ahsokahontas. Fear and hate will never truly prevail. Only through courage, knowledge, and listening to what surrounds us can we learn that things that appear different are really not so different from each other. As my master would always tell me, everything is surrounded by the living Force, and it is up to us to embrace it in order to see it and truly understand it."
"Wow," said Ahsoka. "Our ancestors really did learn a lot."
"Ahead of their time, many of the great heroes of the past were." Yoda said. "Though their bodies they have left long ago, live through us they do. Continue to learn and grow you must to ensure their courage not in vain was."
"How amazing would it have been to actually see what our ancestors did?" Gabby wondered out loud.
"Perhaps reenact you can. A striking resemblance to Graciella, you already bear." Yoda chuckled.
The young ones all started to think about how astounding it was how far their galaxy had come. Now, the many world of their galaxy had people of all kinds of species. Humans, Togruta, Twileks, Cerea, Tholothians, even magical creatures. Sadly, as far as they'd come in terms of inter-species, inter-racial civilizations, various acts of hate and prejudice still existed. Racism, sexism, war, corruption, even ageism were still big problems on many planets. But if their galaxy could come so far after what their ancestors experienced, who was to say the younglings of today couldn't inspire change themselves?
It is up to present generation in any world to teach future generations the importance of learning about the new things they discover, rather than fearing and hating things they do not yet know anything about. Only then, can change be made to make the world better, a safe place for everyone to call home.
