This is one big fucking lie from Kenny, but this may be the best chance to help Sarah and finally see what she looks like. You agree to it, but here comes Kenny with a little extra to go with his grand idea.
He says, "And be aware, Logan and some of his friends will be watching your own friends in case you decide to share too many stories with them. You better be doing your best.
You nearly leap out of your chair to kick Kenny to death, but now isn't the best time to strike at the one you hate. You breathe easy and play it calm.
You say, "Why are my friends a target? They don't know anything."
Kenny replies, "Call it motivation for you to ensure the capture of this monster. We already have what we need from Becky. But, she won't hassle you any more unless she wants a story or if we tell her. For now, use these next two days to rest. We want you and your team at your best."
You are released from captivity. The more Kenny keeps putting pressure on you, the harder it feels like there is air. With your friends now in the mix, you figure it is time to let them and everyone know of the trouble coming. You are dropped off at home around 01:03am. The next two days would be easy work for you at the office. You rest up until 08:00am for September 15th Friday. At least the weekend will be a cake walk; you wake up ready for the day. It is time to hit the station and let your fellow space cops know what is coming. You freshen up and make your coffee. Once you pack your lunch and get ready, you step outside to find your close friends ready to roll out. As always, John is trying to be funny. Sherry and Claire are anxious and curious. Clark sees the look on your face.
Clark asks, "What happen to you yesterday? We didn't see you at the station."
You answer, "A lot is going on right now. When we get to the station, I'll be sure to set everything in order. Plus, we all have something important coming up in two days. It will happen on Monday of September 18th around the evening time."
You climb in and John takes to the driver seat. Clark and Sherry sit behind you with Claire in the gunner seat. It is going to be an interesting drive to the dome.
You say, "Ok, this coming week, Sarah and I will bring the monster out into the open for capture. I need you guys to help me coordinate outside the mine. If all goes well, we will have the monster safely contained. So, get through this day and tomorrow. And yes, the military will be there to help us. So, try not to get all bent out of shape about it."
Claire says, "Ok, that is odd. Why would the military be involved in this?"
You answer, "Kenny Wilco is going to send a message to the higher ups and let them know of the situation. As for who will command them, I don't know. We just need to be ready for anything. So, stick to your orders and disregard anything else on Monday."
Clark suggests, "Well, if we are going to be on the front line, why don't we create the trap? I am sure the military can handle it, but the police force is first in line."
You reply, "Based on some sensitive details from Kenny, I need to at least show the military where they can set up at. So, I rather the army handles the monster more than anyone of the police. We can handle a lot, yes. But, I rather us be safe and away from any danger than getting ourselves either hurt or killed."
Sherry asks, "Do you think I can just be left at the station? I don't want to see this thing or get hurt."
You say, "Sherry, you can happily stay at the HQ until this ends. Matter fact, all of you can stay at the station. Right now, we got this weekend to deal with. So, as your captain, I want you to worry about this at 00:00am for Monday September 18th. Right now, let's get to the station and deal with our work. I know I have a lot of paperwork to look over."
John agrees, "I am ready to just deal with regular problems than keep putting up with this. Once this case is done, I'll be glad and it is back to chasing bad guys. Hopefully, they will be falling over their legs."
Clark says, "Well, let's hope no one will fall over their legs if they have to run from us. I don't feel like doing any running for the time being."
Sherry giggles, "That's what you get for trying to do more than you should."
Claire asks, "Don't tell me he tried to do the marathon run at the gym?"
John and Sherry comfirm how tired he was, but Clark swears he nearly had it. The moment you share with them is wonderful and full of laughs; this is what brings you happiness as you all head to work. Once you arrive, you are all in full swing with work. Clark keeps his friends focused and ready to strike. You step inside the office with your desk full of papers. Each one is from losing shipment to drugs; they also include domestic problems, abuse, robberies, and disturbing neighbors with annoying habits. You pop your knuckles and crack your neck.
You thought, "Let's get down to business. I don't have time for anybody's bullshit."
You easily submit and send off the papers on robbery and domestic problems with no trouble. Now, here comes the troublesome ones. Shipment gone missing from dome two is a pain, but all it requires is more cops watching the area. You request and send off updates to the dome officials and police to remind them that things will only get better; the next paper is a new issue about dome three police taking bribes from local store owners. Not this time and no more ever again. You get up from your desk and make sure certain parties or individuals are aware of this matter by spreading it all around the desk. You go to the first person that brought up the problem. Now, she directs you to where the problem is at. Oh yeah, it is more than just about to go down. You find yourself speaking with the team leaders and asking them questions.
You say, "I want a report about anyone doing this the moment you find out. And if it keeps going on, then I assure you this. You, the cop allowing it, and your people will suffer severe consequences."
The team leaders acknowledge your command, but some mumble under their breath. It seems like you didn't earn their respect, but that is about to change. You head back inside and go to your friends. You ask Claire to do you a favor when it comes to these reports.
You say, "I see a lot of other team leaders think I am not worth a damn when it comes to words. So, I need you to find out who is doing this in the domes. Anyone that believes they can disregard my orders is in for a shock. I don't care if you have to put tracking devices on their vehicles."
Claire proudly salutes you and starts looking at who is doing what in each area.
You turn to Clark and say, "I need you to follow up on any of these incidents and let them know that I am not going to allow it either. If they so much as try to be slick with it, you show them how it is going to be handled."
Clark agrees and keeps an eye on certain ones. Sherry and John wonder what their order will be, but you assure them that they are doing enough. No one didn't expect you to be stiff and firm with your words; in fact, some gladly back you up and keep a watchful eye out for any that are stepping out of line. The day is going to be good for you and no kind of back-door deals will go on. You may be no Capt. Blake Johnson, but you are going to live up to his standards.
You thought, "These lazy-ass fools think I am weak, but today is a new day for them and me. Captain Marvin Breningham is on the case and refuses to tolerate any shit. Marvin Breningham don't play no shit..they hea..they better hear me?! Marvin Breningham ain't never been or about playing no shit!"
The whole day is about you making sure your words carry weight as much as your action. At time goes on, you still hang out with your friends, but remind them that when work is over, you are just plain Marvin. Every team leader checks in and keeps you updated on any trouble in dome three; they extend your reach as far as dome one and dome two. The words of Capt. Breningham puts worry in the hearts of many; however, you know it will take more than just a few orders and commands. At 16:00pm, your time is up and all your papers are taken care of.
It is time to get back home with your team to enjoy the night. The day was hectic, but it ends on a good note. Clark is driving with you riding shotgun. John and Sherry are holding strong in the back seats with Claire relaxed in the gunner seat. You all talk about the ignorant crimes that didn't make any sense; a person tried to steal some towels. There is a woman who tried accusing her man of hitting both side of the fence. The list goes on and on; the only thing that is still troubling you is the plan to capture Sarah. You battle between telling her what is coming and keeping it a secret. It is best to wait one day ahead before she would be capture. In any case, you wait until you are back in your cottage. You leave your friends and take a moment to tell Sarah what you know is coming, but you hope it won't lead to panic. You text her a simple message.
It reads: "Sarah, there is problem coming. We need to talk about how you want to handle it."
You receive no reply so far, but you worry less and hope she will reply soon. It dawns on you that she never told you how she is replying back to you. As you hit the shower and have some tea, it is a night to remember because these last few days have been up and down. The more you want to be around Sarah, it seems the crazier it gets. Fron Kenny Fucking Wilco to Cock-Sucking Becky Longstail, you are wondering what else is going to come up next. Even Logan punk-ass Leonard needs to have his ass more than just under the jail. You rest for the night and let your dreams take you to places that don't exist. You dream of Sarah being as beautiful as she has always been. Her skin is smooth, but now her face has a mask on it. It is ugly and horrid to see. Yet, it makes you laugh because it tastes like cotten. Why is this dream happening? Please, you hope to wake up from this and see the sun rise over the horizon.
The alarm is going off now; it is Saturday September 16th at 06:00am. This is only going to be half a day for your people while you finish up the latest on reports. You stretch your arms and legs. You get the coffee going and turn on the hot water for a shower. Wakey-wakey, eggs and bakey. Time to enjoy the day. In 15 minutes, you are out of the shower sipping on coffee to get your body flooding with caffine. You check your phone and still see no reply from Sarah. You start thinking that she may have taken the message too hard. After work is done and it is dark, you better go see how she is doing. You start praying that she won't snatch you up and leave you crippled.
Out the door and there is your crew. They are happy about the day, but you are ready to go as fast as you will get to dome three. Everybody is happy, full of energy, and grateful that today is half a day work.
John climbs in the back seat with you, "I am glad today is half a day work phase for us. Don't you wish you could only work a few hours and go home? I am so glad for it since I only have a few papers to handle this day. It is a shame our captain can't..."
You say, "I'll tell you what, do you like your arms?"
Claire asks, "What does that mean?"
You answer, "I hope John and all of you like your arms because if one more joke comes from him about half a day work, then you will be staying over to do more than just file papers away."
John tries to answer, but Clark says, "Shut it, John. Not one more word. I am trying to enjoy my time off."
Sherry says, "Well, I don't mind the extra work, but it will be easy, Capt. Breningham. I promise you that the work load sounds like a lot, but you won't even see it as a lot."
You surprise everyone, "And because of your positive reply, officer Sherry Dotson gets the first sweet cake on me. She is showing her captain a happy outlook on work. The rest of you better be making her happy for this weekend."
Claire sarcastically says, "Oh that is no fair. I didn't know you guys love each other like that. When can Clark or John kiss your ass that much?"
John replies, "You kiss his ass first before me, Claire. Clark will just write you up and green sheet your ass later."
Clark jokingly says, "And now, I will green sheet all of you just because John thinks it is time to crack jokes before work."
You end the conversation by saying, "Now, all of you have to stay an hour over since you love each other so much. No, it is not a joke. No, I am not playing. And yes, you have to do it. So, anyone else want to go for the special prize?"
Everyone gets quiet and annoyed, but you say, "You all better have a good time in dome two when you all finish up your work."
A huge sigh of relief comes from them. You make it to dome three and see everything going on a usual. No problems, no issues, and no crazy people today. You step inside and find her again. God damn, does this woman live in a house around the corner? Becky Throat Goat Longstail is here in the station getting stories and flirting. You and your team ignore her as work gets started. You go to your office and make sure the door is locked. All reports will be left in your box by the time noon comes. You sit back and go through your papers; it is the same issues from yesterday, but they will be easily taken care of.
You submt some of them, and place some away in the 'Case Closed' files. Now, the day is going by quick, and you hope Becky is gone. It is now 11:00am and most of the staff is going. With nothing else to do and people taking care of their patrols, you are looking forward to noon and ready to go. There is knocking at the door. Great, this better not be a late report coming to your desk. You open it and find Becky Longstail in your face. Why is she bugging you now?
You ask, "Ok, what the hell do you want now? It is going to be noon soon and work is over. So, can you have the courage to leave me alone for this Saturday?"
Becky sort of smiles, "I just wanted to say how sorry I am for trying to make you into the bad guy. This whole thing is really Sarah's fault; I am here to clear things up. Maybe we can talk about this at your place?"
You nearly laugh but hold it in. You say, "Why in the blue hell would I let you come over to my place? You already came last time and tried to ask for a 'deposit' and you later try to set me up to make me into the bad guy. What kind of drugs..I'm sorry, narcotics are you on? I am sober and haven't had a drink yet."
Becky smiles and tries to push her way inside your office, but you stand there with a cold expression on your face.
She says, "I know I didn't make anything easy, but I just really want a story for the domes to have. Come on, please Marvin. I need your help."
