This has to be a sex thing, or it is a quick way to get you caught up in something. In any case, Becky is trying her hardest to seduce you or convince you. You sigh a little, but make it easy on yourself.
You say, "After my work is done, I'll be in dome two with my friends having a drink. If you want a story, you can report on that. Anything else is strictly classified until I decide when to release it. Plus, you forgot that Kenny needs you to lay off unless he says otherwise."
Becky replies, "All I want is a story and to show proof of something. It is my own way of saying thank you for saving my life. Not to mention, let me buy you a drink."
Your mind is full of mistrust when it comes to her. You say, "Ok, you can buy me one drink and hang out with me. For now, leave me alone and don't bug me. 17:00pm is when I will be in dome two. You can go now, and stay at home. You look tired."
She smiles and promises to be there. With her gone, you can finish up everything. You check your phone again, but no reply yet from Sarah; this is not good. Your thoughts race a little, but you will make it up to her when you see her. For now, it is time to head home and rest before you head out. Your friends text your phone, but you let them know that you had a engagement to attend. With your morning over and the afternoon in full swing, it is time to go to dome two for some sunlight and entertainment. Work is over for you and the team, but apparently it never ends since someone can't get enough.
You take care of home first and give a call to one of the other cops in the area. He agrees to drop you off for dome two since you are giving him gas money and extra for his own fun. You arrive in the least popular part of dome two; all you see is people on dates, spending time together, and making the most of their relationship. This would be nice to enjoy if Sarah and you were still together. And if she wasn't a monster that eats people and rips off their face, but hey shit happens. Instead, you get to spend it with a parasite that won't go away. You go to the bar and order an orange smoothie with a few drops of alcohol in it. Not many people are here this Saturday, but then again, this is just the start of Saturday. You check your phone one last time and find no message yet from Sarah. She must be asleep or trying to keep herself contained.
You hear someone calling you, but you know who it is. At least she sounds full of life.
Becky says, "Hi. I'm glad you are here in something relaxing. And yes, I am dressed perfectly for this."
You notice Becky is wearing some light blue jeans with a nice tank top. It is hot out here, but yessh, she is showing a little too much. Maybe she is expecting something.
You say, "You look nice. I hope you are ordering yourself something for this weather."
She says, "What's wrong with your pockets? I mean, surely you got the money to pay for it?"
You harshly reply, "Last I checked, you are not dating me. I'm not dating you; this is a social meet up."
She softly sighs with a smile and orders a nice margarita to start off her afternoon. You both sit in silence. She is just smiling at you, but this feels all kinds of wrong to you. Why did you start to feel like you are cheating on Sarah, knowing you both are not together? You keep the conversation focused on her as much as you can without getting off subject.
You ask, "So, why don't you tell me a few things? How did you and Kenny get involved? When did you start reporting the news? And why did you follow me the last two times to the dome?"
Beckly harshly answers, "I thought this was a social meeting. If you are going to stress me with questions, I can start with my own questions. And as for me being a reporter, I wanted to be one since so many people like telling me secrets or telling me things no one is suppose to know."
You sigh and ask, "Ok, how was your week? What is new with you? Did you date anyone? Is there a special someone in your life?"
She answers, "My week has been hectic as you know; however, it is going to get better by the time next week comes. The only thing new with me is many men want to date me. No, I haven't dated anyone due to work, and it will interfere with my schedule. And no, there is no one in my life that is special unless someone is going to change it. For now, I am just loving the idea of being single."
You sip your drink and wait for her to ask you anything. Becky asks, "So, what about you? Anyone special in your life? What is new with you? How is work? Why do you think Kenny trusts you so much as captain?"
You notice she is not asking you certain questions, but they are swinging in the right direction.
You answer, "I am just doing what I can on a day to day basis. No, there is no one special in my life since I work for the police force so kinda hard to date. The only thing new with me is more cases. The work load is heavy, but I can handle it. And as for Kenny, I am not into those in the political area. I prefer low level problems than anything higher than what I am doing."
She quickly adds, "Does that also include the special activities for people being murdered?"
You sit back and wait until she catches on. Becky carefully says, "I didn't mean to be so quick to ask, but I can't help it. If I see a story, then it is worth chasing. You know what I mean?"
The weak laugh barely escapes your voice, but you pay attention to her words more than how she looks. The time goes on, but you keep it short with her. Before you can leave, she stops you in your tracks.
Becky asks, "Oh come on. Don't leave me out here alone. Let's go meet up with your friends and see how they are kicking it."
You say, "I am sure they are doing the usual here. One of them is drinking and another is watching. The other two are probably enjoying the moment."
She keeps on urging you to take her to your friends. After a short time of thinking, you take her to see your friends. Hopefully, they won't spill any cups to fill up her cup. You text Claire to see where they are. She messages you the location; Becky is excited to see your friends. She takes you by the arm. You look at her as if she lost her mind.
Becky says, "Oh relax, it is not like I'm going to have sex with you after the day ends. I mean, when was the last time you even had a woman hold your arm?"
You reply, "At least a few nights back. So, you mind being nice. As you said to me before: 'Last I checked, you are not dating me. I'm not dating you; this is a social meet up.' So, let's keep this as friendly."
She keeps it cool and walks with you. You both pass through the video and sound section. It is nothing but loud noise, flashing lights, and all types of music. A few people are already under the inflience of the drinks and some may have been taking in more than they should. It is a shame you can't arrest them and bring them in; the cops of dome two are suppose to be on this. After some sight seeing and traveling, you both make it to the next section to see them. John is trying to impress people with jokes; Clark is flexing his arms a little. Claire and Sherry are being innocent with a few men all in their face.
They see you and didn't expect Becky to be walking with you. Each of them go into a new mode and keep their conversation as it is. Everyone comes over and that is when Becky makes her move. She grips your arm and surprises your friends.
John asks, "Oh, I didn't know you two were going on a date? When did you manage this?"
You pull away from her, "No, she is just trying to be silly. Becky is going to hang with us for the time being."
She greets your friends, but Claire keeps her guard up. She says, "So, Becky. What brings you around us? Shouldn't you be off chasing a story? You know news never sleeps even on a weekend."
Becky happily answers, "Well, for me, my weekend is my time to kick back and relax. I love a good story like any other, but I know when to put it to the side. Right now, I am not here to get a story. We are going to have fun."
You, Clark, Sherry, Claire, John, and Becky share a round of drinks; however, Claire is paying attention to how the whole situation is going. She calls you off to the side for some one on one while they entertain each other.
Once you both are away, Claire says, "Why the hell is Becky here? Does she know about the situation in dome four? Is she working for Kenny?"
You answer, "I am certain she is here to hang with us, but I want you all to keep yourself from having too much of anything. We don't need her to get caught up with us."
You both return back to the team and there she goes again. She is admiring Clark's body. Becky is also glad for John's weak sense of humor and Sherry is getting her confidence pushed; Claire knows what is happening, but Becky won't get to her. You all relax and laugh about life. It seems Becky is not too bad, but this can be a cover for how she really is.
John says, "Well, I am going to call it a day and head home. I need some time to myself."
Becky offers to go, but Claire says, "Nah, I got this one. Plus, John here owes me for our last game of uno."
John didn't understand, but you know Claire will make sure he knows what is going on.
Clark agrees, "I think it is time for me to bounce myself, but I need your help this evening. Sherry, you promised to help me right?"
Sherry smile a little; however, Becky wants to know why they are leaving you two alone.
You say, "It is ok. Let my friends go. Plus, we still have a whole evening to enjoy. So, are you down for it?"
Becky smiles, "I guess I didn't earn my time being around you. I can play buddy to you a little longer. What do you want to do now?"
Before you can reply, your phone goes. You check to see a text from Sarah. You excuse yourself from Becky to go to the restroom.
Once inside, you check the phone and the message reads: "Let's speak tomorrow night around 19:00pm. I need to tell you something."
You smile a little, but this seems odd. You go back to Becky, but she looks sad.
She says, "I just got told of a story that needs to be reported. I have to take care of it tonight around 20:00pm. So, we can kick it another time. Here is my number if you hear anything."
You take it and decide to give her yours. She bids you goodbye and leaves for the day.
You thought, "Well, I am glad she kept it cool and didn't dig too much, but I wonder what story she found out about."
This would be a perfect time to swing over to dome four to check on Sarah and surprise her. You give decide you keep it a secret from everyone and get ready to go see her tonight. You hope to see her with a smile on your face; you catch a ride back to dome one and get yourself fresh and smelling good tonight. You turn on the news and hit the showers. Irish Spring soap with a little extra spice. You return to the living-room and find the news team have an exclusive report. You kick back and take a look at it. God damn it, why is she doing this?
The T.V. shows Becky saying, "Hi, I'm Becky reporting live from dome four just outside the mine that officer Harper and Capt. Breningham showed us last time. Thanks to the new update, we can return back under safer conditions."
The news of this is really stupid. You know there is no time to waste. If you are not there, Sarah is going to make sure the people are missing a face. You rush out the door and find your team seeing you in a rush.
Clark asks, "What is going on? We saw the news, so why is Becky there?"
Sherry says, "Don't they know that this is not a safe trip?"
John states, "We all need to go there and get them out. They could all run into the monster. Sarah can't protect them by herself."
You all climb in your new jeep and gun it out of dome one. This is not a good evening at all. No more than half way through your journey do more questions come up.
Claire asks, "What do you think made them believe they can get a story like this?"
You sigh and break the news to everyone. You say, "It is more of a problem than you all know. The monster is Sarah."
They all ask with great curiosity. You answer, "Look, I left out the information of the monster encounters between me and Sarah for a reason. It turns out Sarah is the monster. On September 3rd, that was the day Sarah and the first team looked into the matter. She was abosrbed by the monster yet she didn't die. Somehow, she is alive and has been adjusting to her new form. Sarah has been killing and eating anyone that has looked at her. I don't know how else to really explain this, but we need to hurry to dome four. Becky and her people won't last if they get seen by Sarah."
Your friends are confused, surprised, and can't comprehend what you told them.
John asks, "So, your ex-girlfriend is a huge bitch that eats people?"
Clark replies, "John, that was completely uncalled for. Jesus, keep those kind of words to yourself."
Sherry is worried. She ask, "Wait, if Sarah is the monster, why has she not killed us?"
You reply, "We only saw her in the human form. As long as she is in her normal form, she won't attack us. The last few times I was in dome four with her, Becky decided to bring others with her. Sarah killed and ate them. So, now we need to get there as fast as we can before it happens again. I can't believe how fucking stupid she is."
Claire says, "Well, this would have been helpful if you told us about it."
Sherry disagrees, "I am sure Marvin had a reason for it."
Clark replies, "There is no excuse for keeping the information from us. You should have told us about Sarah being the threat. Now, she will just kill more innocent people because of you, Marvin."
John says, "Ok, despite the information he kept from us, what can we do to save Becky and her people?"
You answer, "All we need to do is get to the mine entrance. After that, you guys will get any survivors out of there and bring them back to safety. I will deal with Sarah and make sure she has not killed anyone. And remember this if anything: Do Not Look At It. Even if Sarah is around, keep your eyes glued to the ground when you hear growling."
You continue to drive hard into the night and pray you are there in time to save anyone that is left. Becky should know better by now; the last reckless act she did with others left all but two people alive. It is time to get ready; every gun is loaded and things are looking critical. You turn on the radio to hear any news. So far, there is nothing. The last thing you recall is what Becky reported, but it is not enough. You and the team make one stop at the pit-stop station, but it is not looking good. You see a few sections around it not looking so great. You all take a look around to find Greg and his staff not in the best of shape.
