Day 1 prompt for Bahryn Festival: In Another Life. Role reserve, Imperial agent Zeb and Rebel Kallus.

Agent Orrelios' bo-rifle slams down hard, knocking the rebel to his knees. He then raises the barrel to finally end his nemesis, only to miss as the human rolls away.

They've done this all before maybe a hundred times now. The Lasat agent has tried hunting down this particular rebel for a very long time with no luck. He's come close before, almost killing Kallus and his little crew, but they always manage to escape.

It's beyond infuriating.

"Give up now, Agent!" Kallus is on his feet again, the other bo-rifle in his hands. Where he got it, Agent Orrelios still doesn't know. But he has a pretty good guess.

The first time they met, Kallus was working to sell a batch of T-7 ion disrupters to some smuggler. Orrelios thankfully got rid of them, but the fact still remains that this human -who he's since learned was on Lasan at the time of the massacre- was aiding these rebel terrorists in another genocide.

So, here they are, fighting each other tooth and nail over millions of dead Lasats that will never get this chance. Orrelios will kill these rebels in their honor.

He ignores the part of his mind that questions why the Empire once used ion disrupters too, before they were banned. Before he joined their ranks as a rare non-human.

A hard blow to the head brings the agent back to their fight. He falls to his side, growling at the pain that now throbs at his skull.

Kallus breathes hard above him, his eyes wild and challenging. "Is that all you've got?!" He taunts, seeming to want the fight to continue instead of just killing Orrelios while he can.

Fine. If this rebel thinks he's good enough to start mocking him, Orrelios will have to teach him what it really means to fight a Lasat of the Honor Guard. And the Empire.
