It was a sunny day. There weren't any clouds in the sky and the temperature seemed to be about right. It was a beautiful day. It was also, unfortunately, a lovely day to have a funeral.
Ciel had arranged Madame Red's funeral at a nearby church and he made sure that the Undertaker prepared the body. I looked over and saw that he was talking to some young children. They didn't seem very comfortable with his presence. I sighed and headed toward them.
"Hey is this man bothering u guys", I said causing them to turn to me. They still seemed a bit cautious but they also seemed to trust me more than the Undertaker.
"No sir, we were just curious of what was going on at the church there", one of the boys asked.
"Yeah there's a lot of people", another said. The Undertaker looked to me with his wide smile.
"I was just about to tell them why this day was so special", he stated, "maybe you can tell them. You are a bit more kind if I remember correctly hehe". There he goes again. Making comments like he knows me. I didn't respond to him, knowing he wouldn't give me a response back. I looked back to the children and gave them a smile.
"Well he's right in a way. Today is a very special day for a person," I started, "it's a day where we uh...celebrate life or rather the end of it. It can be even considered a ceremony for this person. A funeral". The children seemed to understand a little bit of what I was saying, but not entirely.
It's only natural…
"Now you three should run along home, your parents are probably wondering where you are. You wouldn't want them to worry about you do you?" They all shook their heads and replied, "No" I smiled to them, "Very good". They smiled back to me and started to leave. Once they were gone I heard the Undertaker chuckle a bit.
"Even on a topic as grave as death, you still try to make it sound good. You haven't lost it at all". I glared at him a bit getting really fed up with his comments.
If you know who I am then just say it!
When I was about to retort, the church bells started to ring.
"Well I should get everything prepared", he said as he started to walk away.
Oh no you don't!
I grabbed his arm tightly making him turn to me. He didn't seem surprised, rather amused. This only made me more furious with him. "Is there something you need friend?", he said smirking more.
"Yes there is something friend", I said fed up with his antics, "after the funeral you and I are having a chat and I expect you to be straight with me. Do you understand?" He stayed quiet his smirk still on his face.
"I'll be sure to be there". I let go of his arm and let him off. I needed answers and if he had anything that is good enough for me.

Everyone in the church had saddened expressions on their faces. Some were even crying. Up near the casket I could see Lizzie's golden curls and from the way she was standing she was just as sad as the others, maybe even worse. It made my heart ache a bit seeing all of this. Then started thinking, what would happen if I had died. I know it's a grim topic but, what would happen. Would people come and bury me and mourn or would people just not care.
No, no don't think that it's not like before…
That's right, through the past few months I've gained a rather good relationship with Ciel and the Phantomhive servants. So even if death does come to me, I know that they'll miss me...right? I felt a hand on my shoulder causing me to lose my train of thought. I looked to see Sebastian.
"Are you alright? You seemed to be worried about something?", he asked letting go of my shoulder. I nodded to him.
"Y-Yeah just lost in my own thoughts again. It's nothing to worry about". He nodded quickly and returned back to where he was before.
That was another thing I was concerned about. After Sebastian saw my old scar he's been avoiding me. Even if we were in the same room, he would somehow find a way to leave or not even look at me. I'm really worried. Did I do something wrong? I'll have to talk to him when we get back to the manor.
I looked back inside the church and saw that Ciel had walked in with the holding a red dress. He specially ordered that dress for his aunt. And I wouldn't have blamed him for doing so. Though she had murdered so many girls, she had such an outgoing personality. Simple clothes and white dresses wouldn't suit her, even in death. Most of the other people in the church were appalled by the fact that he'd do such a thing. But he didn't care, he did this for his aunt not for them. I smiled a bit at this. In the end he really did care for his aunt.
Once the service was over, Ciel, Sebastian and I went over another gravestone. I frowned a bit seeing the Undertaker, I just hoped that he remembered our deal.
"Undertaker, are you done?", Ciel asked as we got closer.
"But of course. As expected, I gave her a beautiful little burial. Take a look. He moved to the side and showed us a gravestone with the words "Mary Jane Kelly".
The last victim of Jack the Ripper…
"The last victim of Jack the Ripper", the Undertaker said, "it turned out that she was a foreign immigrant. There was no one to claim to corpse. That is until the kind Earl gave her, a nameless prostitute, her own grave". In actuality I had asked Ciel if he could it for her. I felt bad and a bit guilty that we couldn't save her and even more so when we found out that she didn't have any family. I didn't think Ciel was actually going to go through with it. Ciel glared at the Undertaker a bit.
"I am not that kind", he stated gripping his cane tightly, "I...I came to realize the reason why I could not save her. I knew that we could save her, but I had made capturing Jack the Ripper my priority. I knew that I would let that chance slip away. I kept that in mind and I let her die...along with my aunt".
"Do you regret it", the mortician asked tilting his head.
"I do not. Jack the Ripper is gone. Queen Victoria's sorrow has been put to rest".
"Victoria aye? I'm not a fan- she sits herself so high above everyone else...and leaves all the painful dirty work to the Earl." The Undertaker remarked.
Ciel kissed his ring and stared at it, "This is the fate my family has always been burdened with. It was passed on to me with this ring." Undertaker grinned and grabbed Ciel's shoulders, his face near Ciel's own, and he tugged on Ciel's tie.
"The ring seems more like a collar to me. Connecting you to the Queen with this chain of fate." Ciel turned away from Undertaker, he looked angry.
Then Ciel spun around to face Undertaker, "The one that decided I would wear this 'collar' around my neck was me." Undertaker grabbed Ciel's tie and pulled him close to him.
"I hope that one day that collar chokes you. Otherwise it's just boring." He pulled tightly at the tie, choking Ciel. I wanted to stop him, but I stayed in my place.
"If something else happens, drop by the shop." He released Ciel and started to walk away, "For the Earl and his butler my doors are always open. And of course you are welcomed too Ben". He gave me a look saying "come with me". I nodded to him and looked to Ciel.
"I'll meet you both back at the carriage if that's alright" I told him. Ciel was a bit surprised but nodded to me allowing it. I thanked him and quickly caught up with the Undertaker. "Alright, you know what I want to know".
"Of course, but I need to ask you a few things" I glared at him getting more annoyed. He chuckled at this "don't worry they're just simple questions". I sighed but complied.
"What exactly do you remember about yourself and your past?" I thought for a bit as we walked back to the carriage.
"Well...I definitely know that my old name started with a B, I believe that I have a younger brother...maybe another one too but he's rather crazy...uh what else…"
"What about a lover?" I looked to him surprised.
"Uh yeah, I think I had one. I don't remember her face or her name, but she had long beautiful hair and perfectly tanned skin. And she smelled like wild flowers", I sighed with content thinking about this woman. It's a shame that I don't remember her. The Undertaker's smiled a bit wider seeming to be happy.
"That's good to hear, now I have a final question for you. Have you've been experiencing blackouts and fainting spells recently?" This surprised me again as I nodded to him.
"Uh yes I fainted once in the Phantomhive manor and a blackout the other day. But what does that have to do with my memories?" By this time we returned back to the carriage and stayed there.
"The more fainting spells and blackouts you have, the more memories you gain yes?" he asked me. I nodded to him realizing he was right. After I fainted the first time, I had an old memory appear in a dream. And even with the blackout, though I didn't relive a memory, I did have this familiar feeling. Like some power that's been locked away wanting to come out. I looked back to the Undertaker and noticed that he was reaching something in his cloak sleeve. He took out a small bag of what I can assume was a type of powder.
"Here you go", he said giving me the bag.
"Thanks", I said taking it, "what is it?"
"It's a special ground of my own creation".
"Okay. But what exactly is it?"
" It's something that will help you remember quicker". I went a little wide eyed and looked back down to the bag.
This little bag of powder can really do that? So all I have to do is take whatever is in this bag and..and I'll have my memories back?
"So, all I need to do is take this and…" He nodded confirming my thought.
"Yes. But you must take this in small increments. Put a small pinch of it in some tea or even some water", he explained, "in order to work at the proper rate, you have to take it atleast twice a day." I nodded to him making a mental note to keep a pitcher of water and a glass in my room.
"Alright that sounds easy enough, but wait. This won't do any damage will it". Not that I'm ungrateful with what he was doing, but something this good had to come with a price. He smirked a bit realizing what I meant.
"I can see you haven't lost any of your intelligence either", he stated, "the powder may cause headaches and maybe even more fainting spells. It's nothing too serious I can assure you." I nodded to him and placed the bag into one of my coat pockets.
"Thank you for this", I told him truly grateful, "But I do want to know one thing". The Undertaker still had his smirk on his face.
"Alright, what is it?"
"Tell me something about me. About who I was or even if someone I knew is close. And no lies".
"Hehehe, I suppose I can give you one thing", he stated. He gestured me to come closer to him and I did. I felt his warm breath on my ear.
"Your youngest brother...he's very close." My eyes went wide hearing this.
My youngest brother, he's here. He's here in London! I didn't know what to think or even say. Someone from my past is close by. And if I find them then...then maybe they could help me remember who I really am. This is great but….I have no idea where they could be or what they would look like now. The only photo that I have of them is when they were a young child. They're probably in their late teens or even in their 20s by now. But still I couldn't help but smile a bit knowing that I had some family close by.
"Well seems like I've done my job", the Undertaker said bringing back to reality, "I must be off. You and that hilarious butler are always welcomed in my shop. Goodbye my dear little bird". I waved goodbye to him as he left.
Wait did he just call me a bird?
That nickname was very strange, but hey he did give me something to help get my memories back.
"Ben is everything alright?" I turned and saw that Ciel and Sebastian had came back from the cemetery.
"O-Oh yeah I'm fine", I told them with a reassuring smile, "let's head back to the manor, it's been a long day". Ciel nodded to that as he headed into the carriage. Once he and Sebastian were in, I took my place on concierge's seat and guided the horse back to the Phantomhive manor.

When we got back to the manor the sun has past set and close to dinner time. After Ciel had gotten out, I took the carriage around back and placed the horses in their pens. They whined a bit, so I gave their heads a soothing pat. They leaned into my touch and I smiled at this. Such gentle creatures...though I feel like I've done this before. Before I could think any more to this, I heard someone come in. I turned to see who it was, and I was surprised to see it was Sebastian.
"O-Oh, hey I didn't see you come in" I said to him. He stayed quiet as he came up to be, but he didn't look at me. He's still doing this? I sighed a bit at this as a turned back to the horse and petted its head. After a couple of minutes of silence, he finally spoke up.
"I'm..um...I'm sorry for acting strangely before". I was honestly surprised by this. Sebastian was apologizing. He was seriously apologizing! I'm at a complete loss of words, but I was able to manage a reply.
"N-No no, it's ok", I started, "I was mostly worried that I did something wrong". It was his turn to be surprised.
"No no, you did nothing wrong. It's just…" he seemed to be struggling with what he wanted to say. "Seeing your scar just reminded me of some old memories that I'd rather forget". I nodded in understandment. Though I'm kind of curious what he remembered, but now thinking about it, it's not really my place to ask this.
"Okay, but you're okay now right?" I'm not entirely sure if he truly was ok, but I didn't want to make him any more uncomfortable than he was now. He just nodded to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine and again I'm sorry for how I was acting around you". I gave him a friendly smile.
"Apology accepted", I told him "is there anything I need to do? Any chores that need to be done?"
"Well the Young Master's lunch has to be made, would you care to help me". I nodded and then we both started to walk back into the manor.

It was a cool day in Hell, which is quite rare. Nonetheless, the eldest son of Satan didn't think anything bad about it. In fact, he thought today was the perfect weather conditions for what he has in mind for his day with Malphas. He was going to teach Malphas to ride a dragon.
Against common belief, Dragons were rather docile in Hell...unless they are threatened, or their eggs are threatened. They were beautiful creatures with various colored scales and magnificent horns. They all varied in size, shape, color, and sects (Wyrms, Drakes, Wyverns and the sects within that) and they all served several purposes in Hell. One of the most well-used purpose is transportation and the art of dragon flying and all Hell royals need to learn how to ride a dragon.
Malphas was looking forward to this day. He was so excited he came into his elder's room and jumped on his bed until he woke up and dragged him to the stables.
"Come on Balam!", the excited little demon said as he dragged his brother to the stable. Balam smiled at his brother's excitement as they got closer to the stable.
"Okay, okay Malphas, but you have to settle down. The dragons will sense your excitement and get worked up". The small demon looked to his brother and nodded but he was still bouncing on his heels.
"I know, but I just can't help it! It's going to be my first riding lesson!" Balam chuckled at his tween brother's cuteness.
"I completely understand", he stated with a smile, "I was rather excited when father taught me, now come on". With that Balam opened the stable and entered the small building. Upon hearing the two demons, the large beasts turned toward them. Malphas hid a bit behind his brother, nervous. He had never been in the stable before since he was still too young, but today he's finally learning how to ride. Balam patted his head as they walked further in the building. They walked toward an obsidian dragon with shining green eyes like an excotic cat. Balam smiled to his dragon, Nikos. "Hey boy, how are you". The dragon growled happily seeing his master and leaned its head toward the demon. Balam took the hint and gently pet the gorgeous beast's long snout and gently rubbed his fingers in between the creature's eyes. The dragon continued to growl and purr in content enjoying the affection.
Malphas stared in awe of what was going on. Not only was he seeing his first dragon, but he was watching his brother connect with this dragon. He was simply amazed of how trusting this dragon was towards his brother. He only hoped that he two will have a similar bond with his future creature.
Balam turned towards his brother. "Would you like to pet him". Malphas looked ot his brother in utter surprise.
"Really". Balam smiled and nodded which caused Malphas to break into a huge smile as he got closer to the dragon.
"Now, be gentle and don't be nervous" Balam stated as he picked up the tween, since he is rather short still "Now, gently place your hand in between his eyes and rub small circles with your hand". Malphas nodded and gently placed his hand on the beasts' head. The Dragon purred a bit before licking the small prince's hand. This caused Malphas to laugh a bit.
"You're funny" Balam smiled at his brother's interaction and gentleness with his creature. It warmed his heart seeing Malphas gaining this experience. Even though he was growing up into an older being, Balam couldn't help but see Malphas as a small child still. But soon Malphas will be a grown man and he won't act like this anymore. Balam going to miss these times, but it's not like he'll ever forget them.
"Come on let's meet your dragon". Malphas smiled widely and nodded. Balam smiled back as they walked further down, making even more new memories.
Hey Guys! I'm so sorry! I'm so bad with posting and I have terrible procrastination and that shit! I'm not sure if I will continue this story since I do not have a lot of passion for this as I used to. But I might continue it, it's just going to be very very veyr slow since unlike with Demon Child I like to be more wordy and detailed and that's probably why I stop writing. But I'm very glad that you guys like this and I will do my best to continue, but do not be surprised if I don't post until a years after! Thanks again for reading anf liking this story and please leave your replies! :D
