Note: A little bit of smut a lot a bit of dialogue
They arrived at Din's former residence.
"Come in, I wanted to pick something up."
It was so dark and cramped inside.
"I had a couple of tools that I left behind."
"Is this where you came the other night?"
"Huh?"
"Last night you left for a while and didn't come home until it was late."
"Oh, yes, I came here for a bit to be alone and work on a project."
He picked up a sack of supplies.
"I'm sorry that you felt that you needed to leave." Said Bo-Katan thinking back to their argument.
"Don't be sorry. I'm sorry, I shouldn't just run away when things get hard. I'm not used to having someone just always there and in the same space I'm in. Grogu has school and his pod so I've always been able to have time and space to myself."
"It's understandable."
"Well, I've got this." He held up his sack. "Shall we make our way home?"
"Sure. Will you tell me about the project you were working on?"
"I'll show you when we get home."
Din Djarin set his bag down and brought out a thick wooden frame.
"You made this?" Ask Bo-Katan in shock at the craftsmanship. Din slipped his helmet off and combed his hair back with his hand.
"It's for our unity chain from the ceremony."
"Oh, oh...oh."
Her face felt flush.
"We talked about getting a frame for it to hang up on the wall. So the other night I put this together. It might not be super level, I'm not that great at woodwork, I just do it as a hobby from time to time."
She felt guilt spreading throughout her body to her extremities causing her hands to get sweaty around the frame he thoughtfully made.
"So...about our chain... I'm so sorry. I actually took it to the armorer this morning."
"What do you mean?"
Bo-Katan placed the frame down gently.
"I'll be back."
She slunk into their room to retrieve something and came back out.
"So I decided our roles on the Endor mission early this morning and asked the Armorer to make an alteration to our uniforms. I'm sorry, I hope you don't mind too much that I took your arm plate off your armor without asking"
Bo-Katan held out Din's arm plate for him to inspect as well as her own. Their chain had been split into two pieces and had been fused into their individual arm plates.
"I know it's not supposed to be broken, but they are from the same piece still. I figured with the nature of our work we won't be home very much to admire if. In some cultures, you give your spouse a piece of jewelry to represent your bond and to serve as a daily reminder but that just didn't feel like us."
Bo-Katan started feeling uneasy with Din silently staring at the arm plates for as long as he was. 'This was absolutely a mistake. He hates it.'
"We will use the frame you made, I'll make sure all the work you did doesn't go to waste."
Din Djarin rushed toward her and caught her by surprise. He enveloped her in a tight hug. Bo-Katan smiled against his cheek. It had been a while since she had someone hug her.
"You're making it harder for me to leave. I've never felt so conflicted about going on a mission so much before." He whispered against her shoulder.
"When did Din Djarin, the bounty hunter, get to be such a softy?" She chuckled lightly.
"I wouldn't describe myself as soft, especially not around you."
Bo-Katan jokingly shoved him away.
"You're gross. I want a divorce."
Din rolled his eyes at her and dug his fingers into her sides to tickle her. He planted kisses anywhere he could on her face while she laughed. 'Why are making me fall in love with you?' He thought to himself. He tugged at the zipper of her suit to expose her skin to the warm summer air. Din gripped the back of her hair and pulled firmly to reveal more of her neck. He kissed the dark spot that was slowly disappearing.
"I'm still cross with you about that mark."
He sucked on her skin, gently enough to tease her without making another mark.
"I haven't made it up to you yet?"
"Uh uh."
Din made quick work of peeling her suit away and picked her up by the backs of her legs. She used her heels to push his pants down as they kissed. He slowly made his way to a wall so as to not push her against it too rough. They shifted about until they connected and both let out a satisfied moan. He gripped the underside of her thighs and had to stop himself from leaving any more marks on her freckled skin. She buried her nails into his shoulders to hang on to him while he became completely engulfed in her. He grunted and quickened his pace when he felt her squeeze around his member. Bo flicked her tongue over the top of his ear before slowly sucking on his ear lobe sending a shiver down Din's spine. He bit into her shoulder as he finished and pushed a last thrust into her.
"Sorry, that went a lot faster than anticipated." He said still holding her up against the wall.
"It's fine, we have time for more." She chuckled half teasing.
"You're certainly right."
He took her from the wall and started walking to their room with her in his arms still.
"Wait, again? Right now?"
Din tossed her gently on the bed before.
"Am I keeping you from something?"
She didn't get to answer before his mouth made contact with her core.
"You're going to make us late for the school pick-up."
"Oh, you played no part in delaying our departure?"
Bo-Katan stuck her tongue out at him. She held the door open for him hinting that they should be getting on their way.
"Don't worry, even when I get there on time I usually have to pry him off his friends."
When Din Djarin and Bo-Katan arrived Grogu was indeed busy with the other children and barely noticed their presence.
"Grogu." Din called out from under his shiny helmet.
They saw his attentive ears flicker before his head turned toward them. Grogu let out a happy babble before leaping toward them and landing in Bo-Katan's arms.
"Have a good day?" She asked.
Grogu had a big toothy grin. He waved to his friends over Bo-Katan's shoulder when they started on their way home.
"Why are you so sticky?"
Din Djarin groaned.
"I'll give him a bath when we get home, it's a frequent occurrence. I'll probably get a message from his teacher later."
"You keep your dad on his toes don't ya?"
Din resumed his usual silent disposition. 'It's funny seeing a side of him that no one else sees. He can be so endearing and chatty when we are alone.' Bo-Katan thought to herself.
Upon returning home Din Djarin collect Grogu from Bo's arms and holding him at arms' length went straight to draw a bath. Bo-Katan started cutting up some veggies for an after-school snack for Grogu as an audible commotion was coming from the bathroom. It sounded like a full battle was occurring. She couldn't hold back a grin from spreading when the bathroom door finally opened and Din looked to be just as soaking wet as Grogu. Din let out an exasperated sigh and set Grogu down on the kitchen counter.
"Oh good you also bathed." She chuckled.
Bo-Katan slid the plate of cut vegetables over to Grogu and he slowly turned his head to her with eyes thinly slit.
"I'll have you know that I have never gotten him to eat vegetables willingly. And you best believe this kid is stubborn. I told him once that we were sitting at the table until he finished the greens on his plate and we sat there miserably until the next morning." Din said.
Din Djarin took his helmet off and started snacking on the strips of carrots. "Your loss Grogu, we are doing target training until dinner time."
Grogu grumbled and poked at a lone celery stick.
"Kid, I will make you a deal. For every piece you eat on this plate, I will owe you a bedtime story."
Bo-Katan held her chin in her palm as she glanced at the small child. Grogu seemed to ponder the offer seriously as he picked up the piece of celery and slowly brought it closer to his mouth. He pouted at Bo-Katan in a last-ditch effort but her look gave away no hints of budging from her end of the deal. Grogu took the smallest bite possible and his ears seemed to perk up as he chewed.
"See, it's not awful, is it?"
"I'm impressed, maybe you have finally found a vegetable that he will actually eat, or he has a soft spot for you."
"Well, what were you trying to get him to eat before?"
"Some beets."
"Din, what is wrong with you? No child will eat beets, they taste like dirt."
"I grew up eating beets."
"Yeah, but look at how you turned out..."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You're a complete pessimist sometimes and you constantly break the rules. You wouldn't want Grogu turning out like that would you?"
"It's not pessimism, it's realism and someone who constantly breaks the rules sounds like the perfect companion for you."
Bo-Katan rolled her eyes which guided her eyes to an empty plate.
"Oh, you did well. I honestly have no idea how many pieces of vegetables were on there."
"Hmmmm sold yourself short on that deal huh?"
"Well, the bedtime stories were probably going to happen anyway."
Grogu's jaw dropped.
"Something that will come as no surprise: we should start leaving and get to the training center. Bo, did you want to join us?"
Bo-Katan bit the inside of her cheek and contemplated. 'After this week the opportunities to train and go on missions would be rarer. Sparring with Din might be a decent idea, Koska is a great warrior but her movements are too familiar so the wins are not at all satisfying anymore. But most importantly... the only reason I am up right at the moment is because I can lean on this counter. My legs haven't stopped shaking from getting absolutely railed earlier.'
"I know you were up early, so it's quite alright if you wanted to stay home and rest."
"No no, I'll join. Just let me grab my helmet from the nightstand. I've been wanting a rematch after you cheated last time."
Din raised an eyebrow.
"How do you mean? I won fair and square."
"You were...distracting..."
'Distracting?'
"I never figured out what happened that made you lose your focus that last time."
"Ummm...don't worry about it." Bo-Katan said as she shoved her helmet over her face which was growing redder by the second.
